We went into the store right to where we thought it would be located at the garden center - we asked three people working where the patio stones were located to be told to go to lumber. Once we for to lumber we looked around but couldn't find it. We asked someone in lumber who told us it's in seasonal, we told them we just came from that location and he said we'll it's normally over there but we are probably sold out but head over there and ask them for patio stones with no patterns SO we head over there. We find all the stones outside but only one of the ones we are looking at so we ask a girl working outside if they can check for us in which she told us that normally they are outside under the awning doors in the front of the store at the lumber doors but outside. So we go check, we find a couple under pallets but decide to actually find someone to check. We go to check out at terminal 9, a young guy at 1:37pm. He finds what we are looking for (348915 - patio slab grey 24X24) and rings it in, we pay $156.84. We decide that we want to also grab the solar stake light that happens to be the deal of the day starting today the 21st till the 27th (main display in front of the cashiers that has it plastered for $3.99 - also in the flyer), we ring through 3 of them and they come at the normal price of $5.24. I confront the cashier working on till 9 which is the same guy. He continues to argue saying that they are normally $7 and what it is doing is it's a buy 1 get 1 free and that a percentage is coming off. I explain that is not what the sign says right there, he assures me and doesn't look so I pay but I add the math and that does not add up so I ask the guy to come over and take a look. He looks and is flabbergasted but says I already rang you through go to the cashier. We get helped by Vicky at terminal 10, who is less then happy to be helping us but does eventually return the product and complete the same again changing the price. You can tell she is not happy. I bag my own product at this time. Later all is said and done, they can't locate the patio stones we purchased an hour previously and say they are sold out, how HARD is it to take a look first. Not only that we had to touch multiple debit machines during a pandemic. It's mind blowing and I will NEVER spend a dime here.
If I could give -5 stars I would. I'M VERY ANGRY, WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE EVER! Where to begin??? I spent approx. $10,000 at this store over the last month. I had appliance delivery booked over a month ago, when we called 3 days prior to delivery to confirm we were told a window of 1 - 3 pm. Saturday @ 7:30 AM the drivers phone saying they'll be there in 10 minutes, not OK when you have a moving truck showing up at your old house in 1/2 hour. they told me I had to reschedule, so we did for Tuesday which we were told we would be on morning priority delivery as my partner had to miss work. They also argued with my partner saying they never give window times for appliance delivery yet the person we spoke to did. We were also told we would get a call Monday evening to confirm the delivery which never came. When my partner phoned at 8:30 to confirm, the rude and arrogant lady on the phone informed us that we must be patient and it wasn't 9:00 yet. The phone call never did come. The appliances finally showed up today at 11:00 am but they never delivered the OTR Microwave we bought. When we called, they said they couldn't find any record of us purchasing the OTR which we purchased with all other appliances. We have been continuously on the phone with staff and managers, been disconnected from our phone calls and transferred numerous times and lied to! I'm usually a patient person but I have absolutely no patience for Lowe's or their incompetent management and staff. The worst part about this other than it being a major inconvenience is that not one person from Lowe’s has bothered to try and contact us to make this right, agreed with us or corrected their mistake’s in any way. Why even pay people that don't do anything? I hope you all read this whole review and listen to my advice, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME HERE!
The customer service at this place is absolutely despicable. We were very seriously considering buying an entire set of new toilets for our apartment (~ $1000 purchase), but we could not get any help even after asking. The first time I tried to get assistance, an older lady and another man in the lowes vests were walking by and I was told very nonchalantly "We'll send somebody over". Wait 10 minutes. Nobody came. I then ventured to find somebody else, and was disappointed when a group of 4 teenage guys in the same vests having another seemingly riveting conversation told me "Somebody will be right over". Nobody came. Both times there wasn't even an intercom announcement. After spending approximately 30 minutes waiting for help with what I thought would be a pretty big sale for them, I left and bought 4 toilets and 2 faucets at the nearby home depot. Their loss. I went on another trip to this store about a week later when we were cleaning our carpets. I had to go here this time because the Bissel Green Machines they rent are better than the off-brand machines home depot rents. Apart from the ridiculous lineup, the lady who was helping us made it pretty clear with her body language that she did not want to be helping us. When we returned the machine the next day, I waited in the same line and was eventually told I could go to one of the shorter checkout lines instead of customer service. Lo and behold, when I got to the front of the new line, I was told "You need to go to customer service for that". Both times I visited we did notice the manager sitting behind a computer in his office behind the customer service desk. It really doesn't seem like there is much employee supervision occurring at all. Just save the trouble and go to the nearby home depot.
I went into Lowe's to pick up an item that was on sale at Home Depot. I knew I was going to have to price match the item, so the employee that was helping me recommended I goes to customer service for checkout as they were unable to do a price match from the self checkouts. Debra, the head cashier was less than willing to assist me, even when I had the presence of another employee, Mike, helping me with my heavy article. She turned me away and told me that I would have to use the self checkouts. Upon arrival at the self checkouts, the cashier was very polite but did inform me that the price match would require a managers approval. I then had to wait for Debra to come over - To which she told me she couldnt match the price of the item because it was not the product I was purchasing. I told her it was on sale at home Depot to which she replied she would have to go and check... Understandable, but in the time she was gone, both of the employees at the self checkout were able to pull it up on their phones and verify the correct item, even matched the serial numbers. She disappeared for quite awhile, and returned and agressively said she would match the price. And tried to walk away. I then had to call her back and ask her if she could honor the 10% discount price match guarantee that Lowe's offers and she said she she didn't know and walked away for an extended amount of time. When she came back she snarkily said she would do it. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day, or if there was another reason she was being so rude and agressive towards me from our first interaction, but this is not how customer service should be provided - let along provided from a supervisor. If it wasn't for a 5 star service Mike provided, I would never return to this location.
Bought a $800 Christmas tree on November 14th and saw that it went on clearance for $479 the following week. I misplaced my receipt so I called Lowe’s Canada in hopes of getting the receipt re-printed and then get refunded the difference in price. Was told that the store manager will call me in 24 to 48 hours which they never did. The lady that I spoke with from Lowe’s Canada was very nice and told me that it should be an easy thing for the store to do. She said that if I bought it online, it would be an easy look up transaction and refund the difference. Why is there such a difference in customer service between the online store and in store? I called the store and was told that price adjustments or returns can only be made with the original receipt and can’t be completed with a receipt reprint. Again, the guy I spoke with wouldn’t look up my transaction and took my info for the store manager to call me. Still no call from them. I find this policy to be silly. What does it matter whether it’s a receipt re-print or the original receipt. It clearly shows that I bought the item at a certain price and now it is much cheaper than what I paid. Also, the guy never did look up my transaction. I have worked retail for many years and this just seems like a silly policy that is definitely not customer service oriented. I wouldn’t care so much but it’s the holiday season and it’s a large amount of money that I could have saved. Don’t shop at the South Edmonton Common location. Service sucks and they do not place customer service/satisfaction over dumb policies.
I just bought an Arctic Portable Aircon today and ordered it online for curbside pick up as there was 2 in stock brand new. I received an email that it was ready for pick up so i went there to pick it up. When i called that i was there for curbside pick up. The female staff then came and delivered the aircon to where i was parked. When i got home, we noticed that the box was tape with a lowes brand which i did not realize when it was delivered to me at the curbside. We then realize that the aircon wasnt brand new and it was probably a returned item as the some of the parts were already open. The drain plug was dirty, the remote battery was already ooen and the aircon has leaked water in the box. In other words its not brand new. I called them right away and ask them to transfer me to a manager. I was then transfered to Richard. I explained to him what happen and that the aircon that was given to me was a returned item. He offered to give me a brand new one but i told him that i was already tired and didnt want to go back and return it. He just then offered me 20% discount for the inconvenience. I asked for 50% because it wasnt brand new but he said that he can still sell it at regular price if i should return it. I then said that this is not a good idea to sell it at regular price and this is deceiving the customer. Anyways i ended up just getting a 20% discount and just dont wanna deal with this store anymore in the future.
My wife and I went to Lowe's in South Common for some sod, mulch, and plants. We're pretty chill people and It takes quite a bit to get us riled up let alone leave negative reviews. But our experience yesterday (June, 21, 2022, around 5pm) with a cashier just made our experience so unpleasant that it kinda ruined our evening. As we were checking out, this older, female cashier, was holding a price gun and she wanted me to lift up each pot so she can scan it. There were around 5-6 plants. She had one job to do, that is to scan our purchases and to check us out and she wanted me to do her job. I didn't think much of it at the moment but then realize that she is being paid to do exactly what she's asking me to do. Being "nice" and agreeable people, we didn't make a big fuss of it and didn't complain. But it was such an unpleasant experience that my wife and I were still discussing it in the next store we went into. This person is just lazy and probably hates her job. She shouldn't continue to work there if she feels that way as she's representing Lowe's. I definitely will have second thoughts about buying at Lowe's again. I have the receipt to prove this experience is true. I hope she gets reprimanded for her unprofessional behavior or just outright resign cause she's no customer care person.
If I could give this store no stars I would. Worst Service ever. Went there today to pick up an online order of landscaping stones. Waited a half an hour while they were looking around the back trying to find them and then was informed that they were put up somewhere and it was hard to get to them so it was going to take a while. I had an appointment to get to so had to leave and then come back after I was done with my appointment. Not sure how you lose 15 bags of landscaping stones. Usually when you do an online order and go to pick it up they just go in the back and we’ll out the cart that has all your stuff already on it. After this I went to the paint section to ask about deck paint. The lady there was very rude and talk to me as though I was a child when I was asking if she knew which was the most durable deck paint. She wasn’t helpful at all and the stuff she told me to buy was for concrete not wood. And when I told her that I needed something for wood she proceeded to read the instructions on the can of paint for concrete and then asked me if that explained everything to me and then just walked away. Will never go back to that store again.
Visited garden centre to buy landscaping paper and gloves. They were out of staples so I had to get some from Home Depot. The guy in the garden centre said because of the pandemic they might be out of supplies. Waited to pay in a long line that moved quickly. Turns out the gloves had no bar code on them so the poor girl didn’t know what to do. She called someone and finally an employee showed up who took the gloves and walked back to the garden centre to find the code. He finally comes back about ten minutes later and the girl rings the order through. Turns out it’s the wrong code and I’m charged too much for the gloves. She doesn’t know what to do. So I walked to the garden centre found another pair of the same gloves and brought them back to her. She didn’t know what to do. Someone had to help her refund the first pair and then I could purchase the correct gloves. Overall, this took about 25 minutes of me standing there, waiting for help and finding the right code myself. Meanwhile there’s a long lineup behind me. Of course the excuse is that there is a pandemic so things are not normal. I don’t blame the girl because apparently she is new.
Absolutely no customer service at this location. I purchased a floor model dewalt sliding mitre saw at this location. When I got home I noticed I could not seat the blade because the centering ring was missing.also the blade wrench and manual. I returned to lowes to ask if these peices could be somewhere in a box. I was told no they can't do anything unless I bring the saw back. At this point the gentleman that helped me with the saw earlier, asked what was missing. I showed him on another display model. At this point Gerry decided to chime in that I should go to the dewalt store and buy what's missing because i got a floor model and it is what it is. I'm sorry but referring your costumer to another store is just brutal. I got a discount and i should be happy. I felt attacked by their rude staff. The saving grace here was Ryan who found my missing pieces. Save the manual. The only reason u get 2 stars not 1.when buying a tool it should work and come with all advertised pieces even when it's a floor model. The rusty blade and no manual I can live with. But next time I will take Gerrys advice and simply get a saw at the dewalt store.
I don't do many reviews and never thought I would see the day I would offer a one star for a review but today is the day!. I average over four stars on reviews and generally find positives so I certainly don't look for excuses to bash anyone. You can't go on Lowe's website without seeing the price match statement or walk in the store and trip on the signs everywhere but they are not interested in doing so. I was interested in a lawn mower and there is another store $100 better priced and I asked the disinterested girl working that department if it would be possible to adjust the price to meet the lower price in the local market and she mustered the energy to lift her head and say one word "no" then lowered her head, probably to get back to her phone...who knows. Maybe there is some small print? maybe I don't understand the criteria to match a price? perhaps a brief explanation as to why would have been nice. Oh well. I think I get why this company has closed stores in recent months. I have made purchases over the last year to the tune of $7K and I know one thing. Not another dime good luck to you
Went to buy flooring at South Edmonton Common location , was ignored by flooring staff, when needing assistance staff was very rude and unhelpful. We decided to try them one more time a few weeks later thinking maybe it was just one bad employee and was once again ignored by staff. I had to once again approach them for assistance and despite being a different sales person had the same bad attitude as the last guy. I asked about a specific flooring that we couldn’t find any boxes of on the shelf and he said he would have to bring a pallet down from top shelf and walked away. We waited around for quite a while and he never came back. We decided to go to a different store and on the way out seen him chatting with his coworker. I’m not sure how they can get away with messing up sales like this. I’ve never written a review before but felt obligated due to how brutal these guys are towards customers. We won’t ever waste our time with South Edmonton location again. We went to location by Whitemud and they were friendly and very helpful. We will be going there from now on.
About a year ago , I needed to do some home repairs. Particularly the sinks - neither of them had a release valve to snake the pipes . When i first came to this store , the rep was the " expert " in these things. I bought pipes and fittings. .. I brought the old pipe so everything fits .. According to the " expert ," it should. I bought everything I needed.. only to bring it back the next day . Today I went back because it was closer to where I was. No one in any department.. had to look for someone to help me out. I needed plumbing tape and a new pipe to fit in the old one ... I even asked the rep if he knew what i needed .. yup . What does he give me.. non adhesive tape .. non adhesive !!!! The pipe was too big .. wow .. I put everything back and walked out ! The rep had no clue and just pointed at items that looked like it but I knew those were not the right items . Off to home depot.. they actually know more about it than Lowes. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because the cashier told me to have a nice day
I went in to the South Common store on a Saturday to buy a kitchen faucet. The one I wanted wasn't in stock, and I ended up pre-paying for one they were expecting on Monday. I went in on Wednesday to pick it up, only to find out they'd sold it to someone else! He didn't apologize or make any offers to find me another one. When I asked if he could check other stores he first checked with his manager, then called a couple of other stores. He did find one, arranged to have it sent to South Common, and said he'd call when it was in. He only said "sorry" as I walked away. I was very dissatisfied with the whole experience so, when I picked it up, I asked what they were offering me as compensation. He seemed surprised, and said he'd gotten me another one - didn't seem to realize they'd done anything wrong by selling it and wasting my time. They offered $50 off, and I accepted but, if I hadn't asked, I would have had nothing for my frustration.
Had a flashback to the very first experience with Lowe's. This was back when they opened their first couple of stores and I encountered rude staff. I tried to return an online order. The Lowe's employee noted my order number and went off to another terminal (away from the returns desk). I saw him standing there for a while just staring at the terminal. Since he was communicating at all, I finally asked what the wait was for and he told me that he needed to reboot the system. When he finally got back to me with my refund slip, I suggested that it would be helpful to tell a customer if there is a delay. Communication is always key. He did not like my feedback, brushing it aside, telling that the refund didn't take that long and then ending the conversation by wishing me a great day (which of course he did not mean by the demeanour and voice he used). This guy should definitely not be working in a customer facing role. Very disappointing!
Today I visited Lowe's S. Edmonton Common store and started checking out Smokers in the BBQ section of Seasonal Merchandise. Looking at the manual for one unit near the main aisle, I was approached by two helpful incoming store managers who stopped to ask me if I had any questions. Wow! That never happens in Home Depot! lol I told them that I did, and one of them called David from Seasonal on his phone, and wished me a good day. David found me and took all the time needed to show me several units that would smoke food, all using different concepts and fuels. He was obviously well-trained, knowledgable about all the units, and very easy to communicate with. I left the store with a clear understanding of the different units Lowe's had for sale, how they worked, what fuels they used, and was ready to discuss a purchase at home with my wife. Great store, great staff, great service!!
Attempted to purchase a mower - website advertised 15% off regular priced items and also advertised $10 off if you sign up your email. Upon check-out, neither discount applied. Tried using the online chat help feature - was told the 15% off does not apply to online items (not stated anywhere on the website) and then was told the $10 off can't be used because I'm not allowed to stack promotions. Pointed out that there is no stacked promotion if the 15% off doesn't apply. I was then asked how many promotions I attempted to use. To which I replied 1 - the $10 off because according to the "help" person, the 15% off doesn't apply. The final response given was to pay full price for the item, then provide my order number and invoice and the $10 will be refunded back "at a later date." All this took 32 minutes. Needless to say, my business will be going to Home Depot instead.
Here comes one star. Came to the store to buy new stackable washer and dryer, which we did. We asked sales person to sell us all the parts we need with delivery and installation. Delivery guys came on time and with prior notice, so great experience with that. But it turned out that we didn't had parts needed to install the washer/dryer. We took whole washer-dryer room apart to be able to access and to unplug the old ones. Delivery guys came, saw and they told us we are missing parts and they cannot install it. We have to reschedule. I called the Edmonton South Common store likely seven (7) times and was bounced numerous times between departments until I finally reached the proper person for installation re-scheduling and installation can be booked only in 2 days from now. As you can see I had awesome experience with Lowe's.
My husband sent me to pick up parts for a furnace installation. He checked online to see what was in stock. I had a picture, a part number and a price. I asked 3 people for help to find the part and was in the store about 30 minutes. Note: There was almost no customers in the store. The 1st associate I asked for help. Told me “I don’t know” The 2nd associate I asked said “probably at the back of the store” The 3rd associate tried to help but couldn’t find it. Then suggested I talk to another associate who was helping someone else. When the 4th associate finally had time for me (after at least 15 minutes). She did successfully help me find the part my husband needed. So although I was glad I could help my husband by picking up parts, it was a frustrating experience.
After discussing a product (Counter top) over the phone due to me being an hour out of town I was in great spirits for the matching pattern. They even called back to correct the wrong price they had given me. After being refused to purchase over the phone(new policy I'm told) I drove up a few days later. To be told that they refuse to sell me the countertop I needed because of backlash from the suppliers over wrongful installation. I didnt know my DIY craftmanship came with professional warranty. She then proceeded to suggest shelf ready countertops that result in the exact same issue. Please note the woman on the phone and the woman refusing my sale are 2 different people. I normally avoid writing reviews but I had the 1 hour drive home to think about it.
I was at this location Friday early evening with my elderly father to help pick him out some laminate flooring. There is a sign that lowed posted this is heavy don’t worry we will help you and not a soul around so I loaded it as my elderly father could not assist which is fine but when I got up to the self check out there was 3 male employees standing chatting at the tills and you think one of those men would offer to help me out they could not be bothered I was so baffled like I’m 125lb female those packs of boards are like 50lbs not one man steeped up to offer any sort of help so I ended up doing it myself. I’ve never received this at Home Depot so now our business will go there. I’m embarrassed for lowes and that kind of service.
I came to Lowe's looking for a ladder and a cart. I was fully misdirected twice when I asked for directions. Then went to customer service for help and she also did not know where ladders were located. I finally found my items and paid at self service and that was the most straight forward part of the experience. I had to return an item the same day. At the return counter the "head cashier" stopped my return to have a 3 minute phone conversation with a colleague who thought the cashier had her black sharpie pen. The whole experience from start to finish was bizarre. It makes me wonder if there is no reliable customer service at this store. And people wonder why the Online retail sector is winning over in store retail.
We have done online purchases with in-store pick up with the west end location and decided to try the south end location since it’s closer to us... service was awful in South common. Although, there were a lot of people requiring customer service today, they had 4 staff behind the counter who failed to help anyone in any sort of order. The cashier who was “assisting” us persistently called a “loader” to retrieve the item for us but no one came... so he chose to help multiple people instead of finding the item himself. I even spoke to a department manager who came up to the till, but he was only interested in using the phone. It was beyond frustrating and I will make an effort not to return to this location.
Very bad customer service. After doing my research online I selected an LG washer and dryer with pedestals (~$3600). A rep in the appliance section told me they had both the washer and dryer in stock but no pedestals. I didn’t think it would be a big deal to wait for them and asked if they could deliver the washer and dryer right away as we need new ones and then deliver the pedestals when they arrived. The rep said no, and that they had to ship them all together !! How does this even make sense. I just left and went to the Sherwood Park store. They had even less in stock but agreed to deliver as things came in !! Well done Sherwood Park Lowe’s, you scooped a $3600 quick sale
Update- someone left the contact number below my comment so they can resolve the issue but unfortunately it’s not the right department according to customer service rep i talked to. Went to return an item and I don’t have the receipt for it neither the card i used to pay for it. I asked the return department if i could get the store credit for it. The lady said she can’t do it they don’t have this kind of policy or whatever. Then i called the lowes on gateway to confirm and they said they can provide the store credit for it. The lady in south common location was rude and has no idea what she was talking about. And through out our whole conversation she was coughing non stop.
an overdue review- this store and its staff are amazingly good. It is very easy to find products and staff to help you most times. Sales associates are very friendly and proactive. Last year I purchased a lawn mower from this location. Even though I had to go back twice for an exchange and then a return due to some weird manufacturer missing content(no blade in a brand new in box mower, clearly not Lowe's fault) and defective on arrival, the store handled it really well. And most importantly, I can tell that both the sales associate and the manager on duty care about me and feel sorry about my experience. Thumbs up! Always good and smooth experience with them. Recommended!
Visited Lowes home in south common for the first time, quite big, they have an extension on the left side of the building where we found green turf we were looking for, looks like the garden section cos there are lots of flowers, all garden equipments/wares, Also checked out their curtain/drapery section, found some lovely curtains and double curtain rods that can hold two curtains at once. They have alot as well, different sections, from home ware section, appliances section, garden wares, real flowers and fake decor flowers, wheel barrows, artificial grass(turf), bathroom wares, laundry washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, gas cooker, all home appliances actually.
This is where I will always get interior paint, now, because although there was only one employee working the entire paint department, that person efficiently assisted *seven* separate customers in a timely manner that was joyful to behold. The paint-chip colour selection is vast and shade-matching pristine! I was surprised to find prices at Lowe's are better than other hardware places even though it is cleaner, has more choice, and boasts a safe parking lot with lots of accessible spots. Re:4-star rating: The last star is missing because of the glaring failure of the store to provide even ONE clerk-assisted till to pay at; Only self-checkouts were available. Sad face.
I absolutely hate having to shop here. Usually I need to shop here because they carry a good assortment of small hardware for doing repairs, but lately I'm finding that they don't keep things in stock. That, coupled with the fact that this store is so disorganized, it drives me INSANE. You will not be able to be in and out of here for 2 items in less than 30 minutes because you'll need a staff member to help find something. They need put the item location on the website, like Home Depot. Or at least start by organizing the store in an intuitive way. I will say that the staff here are very friendly, but unfortunately I can't lol past the general disorganization.
We went to Lowes at least couple times a week to buy stuff for renovations. Their customer service staff are incredibly rude and unfriendly! I know that I bought a lot of stuff and it takes time to scan my order in. We always bought over $1500 worth of supplies every time. The cashier scanned my order wrong and when I told her that it was wrong, she didnt try to listen to me. She showed me the attitude and even raised her voice at me. OMG it was UNBELIEVABLE and RUDE! Her name is Corrine. Right now, I dont know if all of my stuff get scanned in right. It happens to me a couple times so I have to say something. Very disappointed at this store!
I was looking for some butcher blocks from Lowe's Saskatoon and they did not have any stock available. However, this store had the stock for items I was looking for. Head Cashier Kelly and Travis helped me arrange for payment and pick up for the butcher blocks. It took Atleast 3-4 days of back and forth communication to get this done.. Both of them were very helpful and patient with me. Kelly went above and beyond to make sure I get what I needed. Amazing customer service... Definitely a 5 on 5 experience. The product quality is also top notch. I am glad they could make this work for me.. Thank you Lowe's Edmonton south team.
May be excellent for contractors. but the small buyers it may not be recommended place . while I was there to purchase materials for decks, crews are unable to distinguish between the reduced price and normal price and it was not properly coded to system. Materials seems to not arranged properly and multiple crews given different answers for same questions. it was too time consuming and I waited in the Tipp for almost 30 mins to bill my few Materials. I would recommend yhe crews needs to be trained well and inventory also needs to be documented properly to ensure meeting customers need and choice with accuracy
My review started out years ago with 5 stars. Slowly over time they have worked that down to one star. I'd give less but there is no option. Lowe's online customer service is horrible. The South Common locations customer service is also horrible. They give ZERO f*&ks. They are there for 8 hours for their shift so why shouldn't you have to sit with them the whole time. Doesn't matter if you shop online or in store. So frustrating. Everyone tries to pass the buck. You call customer service and it disconnects. You call the stores they don't pick up. Shakes head. This is why I only ever use Lowes as a LAST RESORT.
I bought a garage door opener from them last week, and my shopping experience was horrible! I've never seen such a bad service! The stuff does not know how to use their computer system. It took them one hour to input my info into their system. They promised that they will phone me back and make an appointment for installation, but they did not. One week later, I phoned them twice to set up the installation booking. Their customer service people did not do their job, and I have to talk to store manager directly to push them work. Their management is a joke, and their service is a disaster!
Terrible Bought an lg oven there Plugged it in at home. It melted my cabinets and was too hot to even touch Returned to store. Waited over half an hour to return. Employees ignored me. They helped 2 other people instead. Frustrated, I called the complaint line, the in store staff refused to talk to their own on my phone. Finally the manager came and accused me of lying. He said "the oven supposedly wrecked your cabinets" I have photos of course which he did not want to see Furthermore, they could have just plugged it in to see for themselves Terrible customer service and products!!!!!!!
Lowe's is fantastic when you are spending money. I'm building a large custom home and have spent well into 5 digits at this Lowe's. Lighting, shiplap, electrical. They have a fine selection. The only problem with shopping at Lowe's is you have to keep all your paper receipts. You can only imagine what $20,000 worth of receipts looks like. Try to return something without it and you're out of luck. All that to say, don't expect fine customer service upon attempting a return. Home Depot offers email receipts linked to your card. I will do all my shopping there in the future.
Came here to get info on renovations. The assistant was very helpful, she helped us pick out everything we needed. Wrote it all down for the designers and we waited for the email. Shortly after leaving we received the email, stating that what we wanted was discontinued. But what we wanted was on display! So we asked if we could purchase the display model. Assistant said yes. However, we received an email from the manager stating that the vendor wouldn't allow it. THE PRODUCT WAS DISCONTINUED, WHY WOULD THEY CARE?!?! Such a joke and waste of time walking into this place.
It would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED if Lowe's would contact their customers when they are not going to deliver paid for product. Even a quick automated e-mail just so we know what is going on. It was incredibly frustrating to wait about for a week, have to call to check where my soil was, and told it was cancelled behind my back for no marked reason. I am VERY disappointed and felt I have wasted a great deal of time and money with Lowe's, this is not the first time something like this has happened within the last year. It most certainly will be the last though.
My current dryer stopped drying. Before going into the store, I researched their product online, reading reviews. The the dryer I wanted (also on clearance). Went into the store, signed up for financing (very quick and easy) and was able to get the dryer loaded up and home very quickly. The representatives I dealt with both at customer service and in appliance area were helpful and friendly. It did take a while for the appliance agent to get my dryer from the back, and for a little while thought he forgot about me, but other than that, great experience
DO NOT waste your time with online orders. I put my order in a week and a half ago. I was charged in full last night, and got a call early this morning saying she was working on it and one thing was out of stock. Of course they are, it's a week after I put my order in. They said they'd refund me for that, and that's fine. I called again this evening AND ITS STILL NOT READY. I understand there are delays because of COVID but this is unacceptable. Not to mention every time I call the people are annoyed and dismissive. Not doing this again.
We always pick Lowe 's over Home Depot because of good customer service experience every time we shop there. Unfortunately, tonight we had a bad experience. We went to pay for our lumber purchase and this guy that rang our shopping was really unfriendly. He acted as if we were bothersome. Sighing and showing impatience as my husband was paying for our purchase. We bring business and we deserve way better treatment than that! Our receipt shows 19:48 pm when we were at terminal/cashier #1. Please train your staff good customer service.
I've had 3 amazing experiences at this particular Lowe's location and now make the trip from just north of Edmonton, passing multiple other Lowe's on the way to visit this South Edmonton Common Lowe's. Kevin and Stephanie have both treated me with the best customer service I've experienced at any hardware store. They made what was an expensive purchase even better when the item went on sale and I was able to get the price match. I'll be back in the summer to use those savings on a new lawnmower that I've been eyeing.
I generally do not write reviews, given that I received outstanding customer service I would like to acknowledge the service I received. We purchased a brand new BBQ - 3.5 weeks ago from Lowe’s. On Monday, July 20,2020 we arrived home from vacation to find our brand new BBQ had been pushed off our deck by a wind storm and was destroyed. Lowe’s took back the BBQ with no questions asked and offered us a refund or a replacement. There customer service was outstanding and I will forever be a customer at Lowe’s!
While this Lowes location feels quiet every time we go, and may not always have what we are looking for, Bernie with the flooring section makes it worth while for that alone. His experience and knowledge of the products is awesome. Constrained to a budget and only a DIY background, we were able to find the right flooring for the location we wanted to install it in. This is the second time we have bought flooring from this location and very pleased with our results based on Bernie's recommendations.
We purchased carpet and unlay from Lowe's South Edmonton Common and because of the fabulous service we received it now be our "go to" store even though there are others more conveniently located for us. We had a delay, on our end, in being able to install and the Lowe's team was beyond accommodating to us, just a call from time to time to check in. I have to give a big shout out to Bernie, Dusty and Azra for their excellent service and kindness. It really was a pleasure to deal with these people.
Had staff members following me around the store as if i was stealing stuff , as a contractor I already have customers watching me I don’t need staff at a building supply store watching me too . I went to self checkout and the lady monitoring that stood shoulder to shoulder to me while I was ringing up my items and had the audacity to ask if that’s all I’m buying and then said are you sure after I paid . Profiling people is extremely disrespectful and I won’t support Lowe’s anymore .
I have never met anyone more argumentative than Debra on customer service. Loses have officially hit a new low. Came to return a piece that their sales associate recommended for my toilets. Didn’t have the bar code because it got wet and it didn’t even fit properly. She told me to go back to the store I purchase the items from coz they changed their computer service and she can’t help me. Highly argumentative and clearly lacks basic people and customer service skills.
They're forklift operator is about as good at operating, as a fork is good for sipping soup. Waited 1/2 hour for him to put one lift down ( he couldn't figure out his fork was on the rack and proceeded to go up and down bending and rocking the 20' shelf causing a serious hazard for anyone in the store) literally half the people working there walk around with their hands in their pockets. Some of the folks are good but there's far too many duds.
One cashier and one customer service representative for the entire store. No actual staffed checkouts all self checkout. A pretty poor experience given the wait at customer service after a 5 minute wait for a manager at the self checkout. The stuff that was there on the floor was really helpful and was doing the best they could and we're really quite friendly. No leadership to be found though I wanted to have a discussion with them
Horrible service. No staff, uninterested Customer Service desk. After being told to just wait until their 1 staff member is done lunch and listening to them repeatedly page for paint desk and no manager willing to talk to customers, I just went down the street about 6 kms to the next one. Don't waste your time The Gateway location was responsive, quick and a pleasure to deal with. Go there, do not give this location your money.
On the one hand, loved their service when I placed an online order and did pick up. Wonderful! Worked great! On the other, going INTO the store I felt their stares the whole time. I know they're probably all about customer service and making sure you feel helped but damn I felt like I was playing Pokemon trying to avoid the direct line of sight from them. I just needed to go in for something, I wasn't up for socialization.
I had a great experience at the Lowes South Common location. A Manager named Bread provided an awesome service, I was looking for 5 microwaves, and they did not have the one I was looking for in stock, Bread checked and located the ones I wanted at another location and delivered the microwaves to my location himself. A big shout out to Bread and his excellent customer service. Highly recommend him and this location!!!
Called in advance to ensure my order was ready for curb side pick-up. They confirmed. When I arrived they only had 1/2 items ready and said oh sorry the other one isn’t in the store yet. It would be great if I only had to make the one trip... I think next time I’ll be going to Home Depot. Also Lowe’s - add your gateway Blvd location to google maps, it’s missing when you google Lowe’s Edmonton. Sub par experience.
For some reason, I never had a positive experience at this Lowe's location. The 2 Store Managers are both rude and maybe they get bonuses based on sale and turn over or something cause they do not accept their price mistakes or anything. Customer service is not one of their best strengths. I shop at Home Depot a lot and its always a more welcoming environment compared to Lowe's. Sorry this is my honest opinion.
I never write reviews but I was very unimpressed with my visit to the South Common Lowes location. I visited the store today to get pick up some items for my fathers business, but I find I was being profiled and nobody was willing to go out of there way to help except to watch at the end of the isles to make sure I wasn’t stealing. Ended up not purchasing anything and will be taking business to Home Depot!
Never been to a Lowes before, always home Depot for my hardware needs but since HD was closed on labor day I ended up here and am so glad i did. First off, huge sales , some really good deals before winter kicks in. And the best part, excellent service. Almost everyone acknowledges you, with big similes , checks if your doing ok and helps you find stuff if your unable to. Lowes is my go to place here on !
Kiernan is a very knowledgeable and personable employee at Lowe’s. My husband and I were in there asking questions about the deck products we were buying and he answered and explained everything. We were missing some of the pieces from our delivery but that didn’t take away from our experience there as he spoke with the delivery manager and arranged it to be delivered to us. You guys are great!
Having grown used to the poor service as the West End Lowe's where the staff literally turn around and go the other direction if they see you in the aisle - the service and staff at the South Common Lowe's are nothing less than exceptional. I literally cant walk 25 feet without someone saying hello or asking if I need help. What ever the management team as this location is doing is definitely working.
My first time ever at Lowe's. I will be returning to do more shopping there. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I bought furniture for my deck. I am paying $79 to have it delivered. The dining set was on sale. The conversation set is at full price but I was told should it go on sale within a month of purchase, I will be refunded the difference. I like that they're a Canadian company and I get Airmiles.
Less than helpful. Went in locking for a 3/8 socket adapter but was told they didn't have any, but I could buy a set that includes one. Asked the fella if it was possible to open the package to ensure it fit and he said that would be an issue. I could buy it and return it if it didn't fit. Not sure the difference but ended up going to Home Depot and found exactly what I needed and saved over $15.
This hardware store is consistently worse than Home Depot. Don't get me wrong, you can hardly ever find staff to help you in any hardware store, but I've actually been helped with product knowledge at Home Depot before, whereas I've been left with nothing but frustration at Lowe's for years. Easily 100+ visits to both Lowe's and Home Depot and I can say that Lowe's is worse in almost every way.
Purchased a door (special order) took 3 months for a 6 -8week order, came in wrong color, manager (john) tried to get the right one out to us, but now color is discontinued lololol trying to return now and because they changed the system they can't return to my card (sitting waiting over an hour to get resolution, sk disappointed in the service...like to say john (store mgr) was amazing
I ordered a product online, 8 am Friday. Get called by noon its ready for pick up. Show up 10am Saturday and get told it's 5 to 10 mins. They have to go pick it. The lady behind the customer service counter, had no interest in being at work. She's wasn't pleasant, wasn't rude either. Other people who showed up to help, they were pleasant, at least. I'm not a fan of box stores, more and more.
Had a good experience shopping at Lowes yesterday. I needed a piece of lumbar for shimming my new storm door and the gentleman in their lumbar division was very helpful. At the cashiers desk he asked do you have all the required screws which I forgot to get and saved me a return trip. The cashier was especially friendly and we chatted about my tattoos. Definitely my go to hardware store!
Well they pretty well have anything and everything a DIY' would want. Good selection and helpful staff. If your don't want to drive through South Edmonton Common's pot holed and somewhat confusing layout for new visitors, take Parsons Rd. When you see Walmart, depending on what direction you are coming from, take a left or right, go under the train tracks and the store is on your left.
Extremely terrible customer service. I asked three times for someone to help me load. Your overhead advertisement advertise help with loading. Then I had to run all over the store to look for a price on something because there was no price tag on the item. Each time I come here I shake my head and ask why the hell I keep going back? I think this will be the very last visit to Lowe’s!
I asked 3 different associates for help with varnish, with one whom had never heard of it (working in the paint dep.) and was supposed to come back with help. She never came back with help and the other 2 associates I asked, said they have no idea about paint and continued their chat together. Customer service is hard to come by these days especially at this location. No thanks.
The employee in the appliances area was extremely helpful in finding us what we needed. We had ordered and paid for a new stove within fifteen minutes of being in the store. He explained the delivery process to us and made sure we had everything we needed prior to leaving. The process was very quick and organized. No pressure to buy. Just the way I love to shop! Thank you!
I went in here not having a clue what to do with wood stains or what I’d need. Renata in the paint section was super patient with my million questions, extremely helpful on products I needed and even had fun mixing the colours of the stains for me. What a lovely experience and amazing employee you have! The stains turned out exactly how I wanted! Thank you!
Arrived at the store at 8:30pm to get something for a small project. Spoke to the only person I could find and never seen him again. Advised at 9:00pm store was closing and I had to leave. Why theives havn't stole everything off the shelves just before closing cause there is no one around to stop them. They are all at the timeclock waiting to rush home.
Bread Persaud the Assistant Store Manager was extremely helpful, when we bought a Natural Gas barbecue. My husband and I were very satisfied with the service he provided. Bread went out of his way to provide and shared his knowledge. It was a wonderful experience purchasing the barbecue. Thank you Bread for the wonderful service you provided.
The store manager had both poor attitude and laziness mastered. I called Discount who told me they have no such Policy. You made me wait 30 minutes to tell me, as of 30 minutes ago, Discount's policy won't let you rent me the cargo van. You have 2 and a 1/2 hours still until your store closes. Instead of building a fence tonight, I'm writing a review.
Came into the store today looking for an item. Their website said they had 92 available. When trying to locate them in the store I asked THREE DIFFERENT staff members where I could find them as I didn't have time to browse and the website doesn't tell you. Not a single one of them was helpful and sent me all over while passing me off to someone else.
Not sure what was her name or couldn't find it in the receipt but the BIG lady who worked at the return section on Sept 19, her attitude was just so rude and was rushing everything. I understand the 6 ft distance and stuff but she was ordering and yelling at us instead of just asking politely lol. Well i guess that's just how some people talk?
I was going to give a 1 star rating but the Manager Kevin went over and above to resolve the issues with my online order for a Smoker/BBQ. I went to the store two different times after some communication mistakes in store and my order wasn’t ready. Kevin had an employee assemble the Smoker the next day and personally delivered it to me.
Good service, good prices on stuff we need, lots of options on products which people help you find, helpful associates even ask if you need assistance to pack their products in your vehicle. If you are doing renovations, depending upon sales, you may save hundreds of dollars on stuff over other big box stores just like I did. Love it.
It was a Busy Sunday afternoon : a sweet lady with a British accent helped us with the levolor blinds. She took her time, helped others at the same time and was very knowledgeable. Sorry we didn't ask for your name but thank for providing calm and efficient customer service. Definitely someone suitable for a store manager position.
A little more on the pricey side for some items, but also great deals for others. Whenever I can't find something at Home Depot or Canadian Tire, I can always find it no problem here. It is definitely becoming more of my go to place as it's convenient and very well organized. Love how easy it is to find what I need whenever I go.
Terrible customer service. The person I was shopping with was racially profiled and we were followed around the store by an employee as they kept aggressively asking if they could help us. Will not go back. Highly recommend staff go through diversity and inclusion training, learn about "shopping while black" and microagressions.
Very little staff. The ones that are there do not know anything. After talking to 4 people, nobody has any idea where in the store the chain link fence is. Not located in the dept that it is supposed to be. Send us to customer service and wait another 30 minutes and still waiting as I write this review. Not a good store.
My new favorite place to go for home/construction materials. Best in the area with good customer service and good return policies. It's what Home Depot was before their big corporate shift. Now Lowes is the only place to go. And the staff here are friendly and helpful. Easy to tell there is a good management atmosphere.
Always an up and down experience at Lowe's. Sometimes service (especially in the paint section) can be painfully slow. The other day I had to wait for over an hour to have 2 gallons of color mixed. Other times, the service is quick. They do the job right though. They have some very good and knowledgeable employees.
Store closed more than 30 mins last night. When store hours for a Saturday. State 9pm. And u get there at 924 pm and doors are locked . Not cool. When asked about it. Staff couldn't say what time is closing and are generally useless. I got a product recommend by another customer. To find what I needed. Says alot
The assistant manager “Bread” who was very rude and unprofessional who refused to provide the truck rental service to buy the lumber. We told him we wanted to buy more lumber but still refused to give service. I hope lowes take this seriously and such ASM should be trained on how to provide customer service.
The only reason I come to this store is it's right by my house. Trying to get somebody to help you is a slow process. By far the worst Lowe's store in Edmonton. If you are a contractor like me I would stay away from this store or make sure stock is accurate as you will waste your valuable time going there.
Very friendly customer service and very efficient check out process for floor cleaner rental. One of the few places with a completely stocked Bissell rental stand..well laid out store with great lighting. Great sale on tools today which was a nice coincidence. Thank you Lowe's! Have a great day.
Terrible experience. Prices higher than Home Depot. Not a single checkout open. Rude cow in pajama pants at the Customer Service counter refused when I asked if she could check us out. Finally found a staff member willing to open a register. Not sad this company is going under in Canada.
It has been 22 months since I started my kitchen project with Lowes and it is still not done. I paid top dollar for a substandard kitchen. I am so disappoint, I spent alot of money to have this beautiful kitchen and everytime I walk into the kitchen I want to cry and nobody cares.
I had the pleasure of working with Madison in Home Decor - She was very pleasant and when she didn't know the answers to my questions - she immediately made the effort to find out and let me know - I am purchasing shutters for our home and she has made it a pleasant experience
The GM here is awful. Had a great guy help me at flooring and then with a price correction. Brought price correction to front to pay and the GM told me that the flooring guy was an "idiot". He was very condescending and rude to cashier too. I would HATE working under him.
They have a relatively good selection, but if you need help forget about it, you are on your own here, half the employees are praying for retirement and the other half have drug withdrawal coming on & can't wait to be off shift, but ya, indoor lumber yard is schnazy!
I asked for help to find a mixer, the associate took me to the correct area. The item I was looking for was out of stock, she asked one her colleagues for help and they were able to locate the item for me. I was very appreciative that they made the effort for me.
They have such a wide selection and not over priced, we was particularly impressed with just how friendly the staff are, nothing was too much trouble and extremely helpful especially a lady named Tanis who helped us choosing our ceiling fan and made our day.
Came here to get some pricing on flooring for a home addition project didn't realize it would take an hour to talk to someone who can help me. I'm taking my business elsewhere, because Lowe's doesn't see fit to keep enough staff employed to serve customers.
Very poor customer service; the one person who was in the department initially basically took the product from me and put it back. :( Requested assistance and waited for almost 20 minutes before we just gave up. It's no wonder they're losing business! :(
Have you ever purchased a large ticket item only to find that after careful considerations you missed something and now need to return the item? Well, it happened to me, and the return was received with grace and understanding. Thank you Lowe's.
Honestly, I have to say that Lowes quickly became our go to hardware store. They always have everything we need, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Plus during this pandemic, there are no lines to wait in to get in which is huge for us.
If you need help in the garden center. Just ask for Carla. She stopped everything and helped me. I am seeing impaired, and she guided me through the entire garden center. Appreciate her kindness and her knowledge. Made my day. Thanks Carla.
Great customer service - Tyson was awesome and patient and explained things so well when I was looking for the cabinets for my kitchen. Had to return one item because I found I didn't need it and again the service was exceptional.
My last visit was for garage door spring but they do not carry just because anyone can buy and if they do not know how to install or tension it becomes safety hazard for customers. No complain when it comes to safety of citizens.
