Although I normally shop at Home Depot, I visited this store today as they carried a deck baluster system I wanted. I grabbed two packages of the balusters and decided to buy the pressure treated wood for the deck railing. The 2 by 4s were too high to pick through as I needed real straight ones for the railing. The 4 by 4 posts were so rough I wouldn’t use them for fence posts never mind deck railing. I needed some 1 by 4s for a privacy screen. I picked through what was on the rack and rejected about 80 precent as they were twisted and bent. I asked the lumber assistant to bring another lift down as I needed 25. He said there was no room to bring down the new lift yet. I paid for what I bought and when loading the balusters in my vehicle I noticed one package was lighter. I looked inside and there was only 20 balusters not 30. I returned to the vip desk and waited approx 10 minutes for service although the desk wasn’t busy. There were 5 staff all busy with something but I’m not sure what. I finally got the short issue dealt with satisfactorily and left, but very frustrated that I couldn’t buy the entire list at Lowes. I went to Home Depot down the road and completed my shopping. Staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive and the material was far better quality than Lowes. Also more accessible. I’d give no stars if I could. I’m done with Lowes !! They need to take lessons from Home Depot on how to run a lumber department!
It is unfortunate that Lowe’s does not participate in the Scanner Price Accuracy Code. Just bought an eGO trimmer at the West Edmonton store and it scanned for $499.00, instead of the marked $449.00. After a bit of a hassle for the staff to confirm I was telling the truth, the manager/supervisor () said they could match the posted price, but the Code did not apply since Lowe’s doesn’t support it. Retailers who follow the Code will give an additional $10 reduction. FYI - The good news is Home Depot and Rona do follow the Code! So do other retailers like Best Buy, Canadian Tire, Costco, and many more. I guess they just hold themselves to this higher standard. Update - I must say I am surprised by Lowe’s response. I figured they would come back saying they do follow the code like other reputable retailers, and the staff made an error. The fact they do not is very surprising. I have also removed the manager/supervisors name. It has no value, nor is it her fault, if this is a poorly considered corporate policy. Also reduced to one star.
I called yesterday morning to re-order blinds. I had all the information, the receipt and the tag off the blinds so it would be relatively easy to place my order. After being correctly connected to the right department I explained what I was doing, he said come to the store and order it. I explained that I had all the information required to order it. I would just like to do it over the phone. He then said email it in. I explained again that I had all the information, I did not want to scan it, just wanted to place the order. He then said he’s with a client and he would call me back. I clearly gave him my phone number and name, to which he gave me back a different number. I corrected him and made sure he had the correct number. I have been at Lowe’s lots of times, they don’t answer the telephone if they’re with a client so I knew he was lying, I wasn’t going to get a call back. I know ordering blinds is difficult and a lot of the staff don’t like to do it, but considering I had all the information I didn’t think it was a big job..
If I could give this store 0 stars I would. The lack of customer service here is truly shocking. I have been to this store 3 times in the past few months and each time I have left extremely frustrated and angry. I needed help with an exterior door. I asked multiple people and they all pointed me to someone different while in the door aisle 2 feet from me there were 3 employees from the door department just chatting despite me asking for help. I then went again as I bought a door else where but needed a new smart lo k. Again I got no help and when I finally picked asset of locks when brought to the till they scanned at the wrong price. When I asked if I could show the cashier the sale sign she literally threw her arms up in the air and just walked away and never came back. I had to ask 2 other people before someone would finally allow me to show them their sale sign. I will never shop here again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this store like the plague.
Has most things for home improvement in stock. Friendly staff and is dog friendly. Went back last week 12 June 2023 and did not have a good experience at all, most big stores have the same trouble. I checked on line for a Globe Electric Smart Wi-fi Plug 50347 and it said that there were 11 at the store. When I arrived I had the service desk check and was told that there were none at the store, I told them that the web site said that there were 11, I was told that they do not look after the data base it is looked at in the east and they could not do anything about it. I then ordered it on line and it was ready for instore pick up the next morning. Why would a company have 2 data bases, one for the public and one for in store and they do not agree? I wasted my time trying to support a local store to be snubbed by the staff. I will go back but will always use in store pick up to make sure they have the item as the staff can not help you.
Sometimes what should be a simple in and out purchase is not so much here. Went in to purchase a light fixture that was on sale. When the clerk at the contractor desk rung it up it was not the sale price but the regular price. I went back to double check and sure enough it was listed on sale. Returned to the desk and the clerk said there is no one answering the phone there could I go take a picture and bring to her. Fair enough I guess. Back I go and take a picture and return. She then took a picture of my picture and rung it through as “damaged/clearance percent off”. It’s not damaged so not sure why my receipt says it’s damaged. If I need to return it I wonder what experience this will be. Since Lowe’s merger with Rona it seems that customer service has declined. This has been my go to store for many years and it just seems purchases are less and less hassle free at this location.
concern about my order I ordered shower kit OVE brand I came to lowes store which is located at stoneplain road and met associate their I told him I want to order the shower kit Associate checked and said we don't have that in this store we have in different store I will order that for you and the product what I want on offer 25%off so i asked him what will be the price he said around 800 to 810$ and made bill he ask me to pay I paid when I walked out with paid bill he ran to me and said sorry I can't get that product I will return your money but since I made your transaction I can't cancel now you come next day,I spend almost 1hour 30 mins in store to process the next day some associate called me and said money we didn't take from your account so you don't have to come in to cancel after that I checked my account it shows It was charged already I have proof of it
I'm not sure why we have two identical stores, Lowes and Rona? Seems like Future shop and Best buy, there can be only one! On my last trip there I had to ask for help finding a niche lightbulb, I'm not sure if the hiring requirements are now so low that they only hire teenagers but no one could help me, they just didn't understand what I was specifically asking for. Not their fault, not Lowes fault, but y'know when you're trying to find something and the people at the store can't help you it feels like you just ran up against a brickwall. Went home, googled it, amazon had it available. Prime delivered it the next day not even 24 hours later. If lowes doesn't figure it out soon I doubt they'll stay in business. I later found out Lowes had it in stock, it's not like they didn't have the item. I just wasted my time driving there.
Lowes does not update product notifications, did not know if it shipped, tracking etc. order link simply states processing. Courier (Day & Ross) did not schedule a delivery date or time. Showed up when I was away, called me stating we are here and put 600lb pallet in front of my stairs to front door. Caught the driver before he drove away asked them to move pallet so it wasn’t blocking door - they drove away. Called Lowe’s customer service, did not seem to care about delivery issues. Told me to phone courier. Courier Lowes uses is Lowe’s responsibility. They use a bad courier it reflects bad in them. There were also a few rips in the rubber bags that I needed to tape up. Won’t order again through Lowes online.
I love my new fridge and stove. Product is good, Delivery men were courteous , BUT don't tell me to give you a 9/10 on the ratings sheet, and check off 'no' before I initial it for the question "any damage...?. I don't know yet, give me a day to re arrange things again, and have a chance to look at the dented walls and doors. So yes, now the damage is appearing. Not major, but you're not hiding it. Be extra careful. And when I'm missing a decorative attachment, bring it to me. Don't say "that's just the way it is.". Again, always have to 'fix' things when it's 'done'. And the automated phone survey was less than 20 mins after they left. I appreciate the promptness, but I have to have more time to check things.
Weird store. Great garden center service by a very kind lady. Picked out two pots, one of them was on the shelf for $9.99 but rang up at $11.99. Not a big deal but I was confused. I'm not one to argue but this store made a big deal. Jacqueline came over and said she is fairly certain it's not but just to make us happy she will give it to us for $9.99 and still check. I walked over with her because at that point I thought I was going crazy. Well, it sure was $9.99. Fairly certain hey? She called the sales associate checking us out and said " yep, it's $11.99". Are y'all really that needy for $2? I was about to pay the $2 extra since it's such a big deal. Not sure why the big deal.
Pros: - Well stocked - Clean - Spacious - Quality items Cons: - Customer service can be hit or miss, often miss. Some employees will simply tell you, "I don't know where to find that" and just expect you to go away and you will actually have to ask them if they can find someone else who can assist you - Curb-side pickup item that I received (fertilizer) had holes in it and I only discovered that when I arrived home - One employee might tell you that they can help you with something (cut wood) and another might tell you they cannot, so you may want to bring back-up tools with you if you really need the item cut to make it fit in your car
Bought the pictured hardwood flooring. good price good product. Went back to get the stair nose which the sign on the display claims is in stock. found ine damaged stair nose in stock. store employee tells me it would be a special order and i have to wait 2 to 4 weeks. i look at the computer screen and see 22 stair noses at the south side store. when i mention this Im told to drive across the city as they can not transfer this to the store near me. will not let me buy it and deliver it to the west end store. had i known that in stock means one damaged peice i would have chosen a different floor
I've been to a bunch of hardware stores where people try to help and it sometimes feels like they are just not interested in being there. However coming here it was a different story, Robert was the one who helped me figure out what to do when the piece I was looking for didn't seem to exist. On top of that he suggested ways to fix the drywall from the change we needed to make. Not only did he help me get the pieces and ideas needed to do what needs to get done but he has a great attitude and a sense of humor about him. It was a pleasure coming to the store today.
The staff is hard to find and not at all knowledgeable when you find one. Their prices are usually 20-30% higher than Home Depot and even Canadian Tire has better prices and selection. And the store lacks some basic hardware items. The staff is actually clueless about home improvement and can't find even things listed on their own website. I'd say you could order online and just go pick it up in store, but they can't even get that right. I've given them several chances but I'll never shop there again. Shop somewhere else if you value your time and sanity.
Gave this pace 4 stars because I can't think of much that I don't like about this store. I would of given it 5 stars if the cashier had to help us out the other day when one product didn't scan properly at the self checkouts. Another employee seen my till was flashing red so she stopped to help us out. If they want people to use self checkouts, these machines should work much better than they do. Always seems to be issues with the self checkouts. That's the only issue that I have with this place. Everything else is top notch for me.
I purchased 93 2x6x10 studs. The price of lumber is outrageous everywhere, but all the staff were helpful in providing me with quality product and friendly service and offered to help me load my trailer. I had also planned to purchase a number of 2x6x16s but was able to find another outlet a tiny bit cheaper. No outlet is price-matching lumber so the consumer is on his own to find the best deal, which seems to fluctuate almost daily. I think the big lumber companies are laughing about their huge profits just like the oil companies.
Aisles were relatively clear and clean. Shelves had most items stocked, empty holes were at a minimum and item product was labelled and price visible. We easily found items we were looking for. Lowes employees who offered assistance were helpful and all employees we passed close by approached in a pleasant manner to inquire if assistance was required. Checkout was done efficiently and the cashier offered a warm thank you for our business. Overall, a good shopping experience and the offer of Airmiles was rewarded also.
Been to this place a few times over the course of the last few months. It's the same story that I keep finding when I go in here. Lack of knowledgeable staff. I should also mention that the staff are definitely friendly and outgoing, though finding some form of experience or someone who actually has knowledge is pretty far between hits. To say that if I know exactly what I need I would definitely visit here... Though to say right up front going to Home Depot or Canadian Tire will be definitely my better preference.
Thanks to Beatrice for being nice though I decided not to purchase the interior door. I could have gotten a bad look from other stores if I did that. Also thanks to that 6-foot-6 staff guy with the long curly hair. He was extremely helpful. These two staff made my visit to this store so great. I could have given 5 stars but there’s one staff guy who got some attitude and just left me after a request to inspect the item thoroughly. Obviously not wanting to do an extra mile unlike Beatrice and the 6 footer guy.
My wife & I went to Lowe's for new nobs for the drawer & cabinet in our kitchen. They had a large selection but not what we had found Rona which they only had 20 of the 50 nobs we needed. Question. Is Rona not owned by Lowe's? The staff is helpful & knowledgable on the product they have in the store. We got a big surprise going through the till with a stove vent hood finding it was $ 70 off which wasn't marked as a sale item. Their prices are reasonable & normally have a large supply.
Good store but don't trust their inventory counts on the site. Their site said there was over 30 of something I was after and they were apparently out of stock, with the staff blaming a delivery that was outstanding. Having worked in a similar style warehouse I know the inventory can't get counted until it's scanned into the system so it didn't add up. The prices are fair and the selection typically is excellent, but staff need to learn better customer service.
We used Lowes for kitchen Reno and let me tell yuh it’s was a very smooth transition from start to finish. We did have to wait for 1 cabinet that was back ordered for 1 week but that was no problem. Sherry from kitchen and cabinets was amazing. She’s very knowledgeable, super patient, has great ideas that helped us. Huge thank you to Sherry for making our Reno a breeze. We’ve purchased A LOT of items here… including 2 entire backyard and kitchen renovations… great selection, friendly staff and most important amazing service. We had an issue with one of the sliding door gazebos we bought, and one of the assistant managers Hussein went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure we were taken care of. We will be a forever customer to this store, and really appreciate the way they treat and take care of their customers. Bravo!
The battery died on my Kobalt mower just before the 3 year warranty period ended. The problem is I couldn't find my receipt anywhere which usually means you're on your own. They took in my old mower and provided an in-store credit that I was able to use for a new mower. I've had many issues with other hardware stores in the past but the team at this Lowe's went above and beyond. Thank you for the assistance, highly recommend this location!
I recommend not ordering/purchasing anything that needs to be delivered. They did try to swap in floor models (yes with scratches and dents) when paying for a brand new high end refrigerator and hope that I wouldn't notice. It took months to correct the issue all while dealing with their third-party delivery company who do not care about your time. They did however correct the issues but it took a substantial amount of time and effort.
Big store well lit up. Lots of Staff ready and willing to help you. Lots of handicap parking! No problems getting in and out. Without a doubt more variety then the other big hardware stores. Truth be told it was the only place I could get my refrigerator water and ice filter. .. for my brand new Frigidaire. Took two trips back and forth but pretty much stress free purchase. I I will be going to Lowe's first from now on.
Staff was helpful, but the plants ... It was heartbreaking to see how poorly the plants were cared for... So many neglected to the point of no saving them... Sad to see that much waste... If you're not going to take care of them then cut your prices so people can afford to buy more cuz the amount of money lost with all that death would still be more than selling for half of what's being asked... Shameful
Countertops,had them installed(Quartz) and very satisfied.Problems along the way,like any project has,but all were solved and a quick install.BIG shout out to JUSTIN running installation and SHARI at the front end both put up with my constant question and I got back answers and EXCELLENT service.Remember be respectful and patient and they will solve any issues you may have. The sales team and delivery staff were awesome but I had a staple in my riding mower tire. When I called the service department I was hung up on three times and the fourth time they said the service manager was at lunch and would not be back till 1:30. It was only 11:40 so I gave up and decided to try to resolve my own problem, which is what they wanted. Don’t expect any warranty from these guys.
I like this home improvement store because it has the sort of things that aren’t readily available in other stores. It’s a huge place and luckily it isn’t too difficult to hunt down a sales associate to ask where something is. Appliance section is run by a very knowledgeable guy who has years of experience and can sort out the kind of machine you need, and warn you of the duds. Highly recommend!
This location is our go-to hardware store. The prices are generally cheaper than anywhere else, including Home Depot. The customer service is great, everyone is really helpful and takes the time to answer your questions. We’ve dealt with Valentine specifically a couple times and he’s been so personable and always going above and beyond. Definitely a delight to see him every time we shop there :)
I find the staff to be nice, and helpful, and can usually find someone fairly easily if you need to. My last trip was for an item issue, and talked to Annette to see what could be done. I was surprised to have someone really listen, then respond in a way showing she actually cared and wanted to help. It was very appreciated, and I will make this store my first stop for future needs.
Always clean, well organized and staff are friendly. I find Lowe's carries some very different/unique products vs. HD. I've bought several bigger purchases from here due to competitive pricing (ceiling fan, snow blower). Returned products twice and never had issue. Only complaint would be lack of staff at times (I was looking at appliances at the time), and too few self-checkouts.
Came for an online order and there was a customer at customer service making a pro order. Took 10 minutes before someone else decided to help and then another 10 minutes for someone to get the order. My door should have been waiting for me at the front. I thought that was why I scheduled a pick up time. I was late for my order however, the gentlemen behind me
Bought a shower/tub faucet. Went to install it today and turns out it was the wrong brand. Everything was perfect only the box was opened. I also kept the receipt. Went to return the item and I was told because of new ownership they couldn’t accept my return. Because it was more than 90 days. Absolutely disgusting business practice.
Tried to find a fridge/freezer locally after our fridge died and had to wait up to 3 months to get a product from them! Dami had exactly what we wanted at a competitive price and loaded it on my truck same night. Can’t say enough how thankful we are for his great customer service and no-nonsense help in our time of need. Thank you!
Had to wait over 30 minutes to grab the item. I had to walk around the store to find out what was going on. The people that loaded the item didnt even finish they put it in but not all the way. Plus i saw the box when they came out and said it looks broken. They ensured they checked the box and nothing is damaged. Guess what… it is
Lowes.ca lost my shipment. It's $500 item. The delivery address was Edmonton, AB, but they delivered to Guelph, ON. I opened a trace with them and they have not done anything for 2 weeks. No supervisors were available to speak to me. Customer service reps and extremely rude over the phone. I will not recommend Lowes.ca to anyone.
I went to curbside pickup and click on 'I am here' link in the email. Waited for 10 mins and no one showed up. I called the number and ask for curbside and they asked the parking number I parked my car at. I mentioned that. The guy comes out with my stuff and standing at the front door. He didn't come to curbside pickup parking.
Staff are never around...in any department. Today went to get paint, waited for over 10 min pressing the assistance button 6 times for an associate... finally came, knew next to nothing for their "paint specialist"...knew little about paint brands and nothing about rollers. Educate your staff Lowe's. Home Depot is way better.
I came in needing a product I could barely describe, (oil stain remover). Rachel was attentive, smart, and exceptionally helpful and with her help I found exactly what I needed. If you go into this Lowes ask for her to have the best experience in customer service and knowledge. Whatever she is being paid it is not enough.
Bought an in-stock washer and dryer and had no issues. Reasonably priced and then got a discount as well. We were able to take it home that day so I could do my laundry which was awesome. The sales associate explained everything really well and gave us good advice that we took and we're happy with our purchases.
The amount of times I have been to this location to turn around and have to go to homedepot is amazing. Sadly this is the last time for me. Went for pex fittings and about 85% of the boxes have the wrong type of plumbing fittings in them. Organization obviously isn't a issue so ill have to go somewhere else.
The lady working the paint area was friendly and helpful. Lots of great deals on plants and other needed home items. Found some chain link privacy slats that were cheaper at Rona, so the cashier met the price plus gave an extra 10% off. Will definitely return when doing more projects in the future.
Had the worst experience with Alex today, trying to communicate anchors I needed was super painful and confusing. He needs to work on his customer service soft skills and listening skills. I had to ask for someone else to help me and easily found what I was looking for and answered my questions.
Tidy, clean store with well stocked shelves and mostly unobstructed aisles. Items labelled with prices and info. Visited gardening center and was readily assisted in finding a specific product. Overall a successful shopping trip was achieved. Will definitely back. Airmiles collected here also.
I recently ordered a smoker grill online. They took my $1300, but didn't have stock. Then they shorted my refund $85. Pathetic that they have no inventory control. Worse that they did not refund the full amount. I'm a Tradesperson and I bought a ton of stuff from Lowes and Rona. Never again.
Huge selection of products and very helpful staff I went here to look for a few things , xacto, planters, lightbulbs and a fixture for my sink , during my visit I was helped by a few staff in diffrent areas in finding things most of them had much to add to my search in terms of knowledge
I am raising my rating to 5-stars. We have had to return some items and make major purchases over time. Based on being a long-term customer, their service has always been very friendly and helpful, even when making returns. Lowe's is one of my go-to home improvement stores.
We bought our LG washer and dryer from this location and they had a special deal with free delivery. The delivery was on time and Lowe's was on point with their deal and sale. Kemar and Peter, from Metro Supply Chain did a fantastic job of delivering the appliances. Thanks!
Great location. Little frustrating trying to purchase propane, no one knew where the keys were but after 10 minutes someone found them. Then they wouldn't work. Happy ending in that they kept trying until they were able to help me but it was a little funny in the meantime.
Terrible service. I stood in front of customer service for 20 mins. There was no other customers, She just got off the call. Turned around, walked way, came back do her stuff. Totally ignored me for whatever reason, Until the supervisor walked in, then she talked to me.
Patricia at the contractor counter needs to work on her people skills and communication. She acted like we were bothering her. Won't be going back there anytime in the future. If there was a no star option, that's what I would be choosing for a rating.
Just when you think customer service is dead you go to Loews in St Albert and you meet Marietta! What a treat! She was helpful, knowledgeable, and very hardworking on our behalf. I would have given her a six star rating if possible!!! Awesome!
Went here to get light fixtures for our bedrooms. Really liked the one attached, for a decent price. Great selection. Definitely recommend ( compared the the Home Depot, that comes second and Rona , that comes last , all in the same area )
This was my first time going to Lowes and i was really impressed with it. As i walked in i was greeted and offered free subway lunch and drink which I thought was awesome. It might not be a regular thing but for first impressions, im happy

Waited 40 minutes in appliances for help. Looked around for someone and finally went to go customer service to ask to send more help. If not for Matt who came to help I would have given one star! Matt deserves the 5 stars not the store.
A very nice store. The staff were super friendly and helpful I just ask where things are as the store is so big I could spend hours in there. The staff helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and the price was very reasonable.
Honestly it's a really good store. The customer service is non existent even though there is staff everywhere. Looks like either a very bad place to work or poor hiring. Either way it's sad for such a good clean place.
Trevor the store manager was amazing and customer service top notch. Even though we did not purchase from his store he made sure we got what we wanted from the other store and for the same price he was offering it at.
They quoted and installed the wrong hot water tank. I have been waiting for 10 days for a response from their " customer service" Avoid them at all costs and do NOT use their installer service.
One of my favourite places to come for lumber and tools! They always have what I need, all the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly! I recommend Lowe’s to lots of people!
