I had Lucinda on my places to visit in Hobart for so long and we were so disappointed. We were greeted warmly, sat down and ordered a wine, it was downhill from there. After explaining we were there for dinner, we sat there sipping our wine for what felt like almost 30 minutes waiting for the waiter to return to take our order. In this time, he served three other couples, and continued to chat and have conversations with what seemed like regulars to the wine bar and the other staff. We then had to ask if we could order food, after eating oysters the empty plate sat there again for a while before anyone took it away. We almost decided to get up and leave but decided we’d stay, giving them the benefit of the doubt. At this point we almost felt like we were a nuisance being there, and felt the food and wine was fairly overpriced for what it was. From their socials, Lucinda seems like a buzzing place with an enviable menu. The food is ok - but we felt like this venue can’t decide on whether it wants to be a casual wine bar that is more suited to a quick, easy drink that is more social than anything - or more of an a la carte vibe, which it’s Instagram seems to give off. I’d recommend picking one or the other, otherwise you’ll continue to disappoint. We most likely wont be back.
We did not enjoy. I was very excited to visit here as they have lovely social pages and photos. I enquired about a booking and was told they don't take any which is fine. We rocked up (4 of us) and waited about 10/15min for a table which again is fine. Finally managed to get a table outside, it only had 4 chairs, one of us stood around and waited then asked for a chair they said they could not give us a chair but offered a milk crate instead. Again - fine. Finally got asked about what type of wines we liked. The premise of the restaurant as I read is that they offer a few to try when you explain what you like. I got offered one and I didn't like it and asked to try others. After I was told that they thought me what I asked for - mineral, not sweet. Anyway , so it is my. Taste that is bad, but I tasted sour. Got another glass in the end. Went I side to use the bathroom.. saw some spare tables inside. Asked if we could move in instead once or if one opened up. Instead they haven't to somebody else who was just walking in. Felt unwelcomed, like we were a nuisance to them. Wines were nothing special. None from Tasmania.wated to love this place, but it was the worst we visited on our trip. Wouldn't recommend.
Heard lots about this place and decided to check it out. We rocked up for a late dinner and drinks and managed to score a table. Menus were dropped off and water was served then we did not see a wait staff for a good 20 min. Finally someone showed up and managed to organise wine. As it was a really glass of wine. We were hungry and no one came back to take our food order. After sitting there for a good 30 min and now empty wine glass. We decided to to go have dinner somewhere else. If the place was busy it would have been ok. But there was 3 tables where we were seated. Hope they change their service as we were prepared to eat and drink but was ignored.
The food, vibe and wine were all excellent. It was very busy for a Monday and there were two staff on who were doing a good job serving, prepping, seating, and sharing their knowledge of wines. We had a few wines by the glass and enjoyed some tasty food - the boarfish with peppers was divine! The bread with herb butter was also excellent. A great place for a slow paced dinner. If you're in a rush or want speedy service, go somewhere else. But if you're happy to have a slower night and enjoy delicious food and wine at a slower pace while taking in a great vibe, this is the place for you.
Fabulous food, wonderful wines. Loved the Negroni. Staff were warm, knowledgeable and made sure we had an amazing experience. Three of us had a fantastic night. Each dish we chose was a taste sensation. We ate slowly to savour this fresh and delicately flavoured food. The opportunity for wine guidance and tasting throughout the meal was appreciated. The ambience was great. A surprisingly wonderful dining experience. A must if you visit this town. We will certainly be back. Thank you
This place is a little gem of Hobart. It feels as though you have just walked into a home kitchen as your meal is being prepared around you. The food is prepared with love and you can taste this in every meal. I will most definitely be returning here in the future. It is a cosy place and spaces are limited as I believe it is a walks in only first in first served. Lovely atmosphere where strangers were making friends as were the cooks.Awesome dining experience!!
Visited on a recent trip to Hobart on a Sydney wine seller’s recommendation and was so impressed. The wine was lovely and the person serving us (maybe the owner?) was so helpful. We weren’t expecting to be able to eat as there was nothing vegan on the menu, but he was happy to just come up with some dishes and it was some of the best, most interesting food I’ve eaten at a restaurant in a long time, and we live in the vegan hub of inner west Sydney!
An intimate space specialising in amazing flavours, Lucinda turned around my evening. Searching for nothing more than a late night snack, I was taken aback by the phenomenal culinary experience that I stumbled across. The space is cosy in a nice way, and the passion of the staff came through not only in the food, prepared right next to you, but also their joy in sharing it’s story with you. Look no further, you’ve found what you were looking for.
Excited to try out this place - once served wine, expecting waiter to come back for food order after putting away bottle. Did not come around at all for a good 40mins and continuously went back to two other parties. Felt ignored. Didn’t get attended to in the end. New parties came in and they were attended to multiple times. Can understand it was busy but there were only 3-4 other parties. Went to another place for dinner.
A lovely way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon in Hobart. The recommended red was fabulous, the Tasmanian cheeses were delightful and to finish a local pale ale. All consumed while the rain was falling outside. The staff are warm and friendly and the smell of frying butter from the co-located kitchen is a delight. I will be going back.
What a great place. Amazing selection of wines complimented by an excellent bar menu. The knowledgeable and welcoming staff (hi Cassie!) guided my wife and I through a wide and constantly changing range of by-the-glass natural wines. A new generation of wine lovers bringing a fresh and accessible approach to enjoying wine.
Started off great with good service and nice wines but went down hill after we sat there with empty glasses for about 40 minutes before we gave up and decided to just pay the bill and go. I think they were possibly understaffed but it left a bad taste in a our mouths when we were planning on ordering more drinks/food.
Relaxing atmosphere, nice wines and unique food selections. If you are looking for something different or interesting, Lucinda is just for you. Fantastic place for a nice catch up with friends or romantic dining. It was very welcoming, would be even nice for casual drinking before dinner reservation, too!
Doesn't live up to the hype. Give Lucinda's a miss. Went on a Thursday, not busy, Server was very impatient while I selected my wine. Very few choices by the glass and not remarkable. Food was tasty but very small portion. I am sure there are many better wine bars in this wine and foodie town.
Amazing food & wine - but the service is incredibly poor and missing. Have left twice since our first experience, each time the waitress served us water and then never returned for orders (after 30 minute waits). I have heard many stories of this bad service now.
I enjoyed this place immensely. The service was impeccable, the little snack I had was delightful and it was simply a wonderful little place. Good wine and the atmosphere was great I wish I'd found it sooner!

Can not recommend this place highly enough. We went twice in the space of a few days, the wine selection is incredible, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. Also appreciated the puzzles and card games that were sitting around. …
Service is slow, we came around 8:30pm. It was quiet. We stopped for a wine before dinner. There’s an old oil smell to the place. Not sure if they’ve forgotten to change the oil for the deep fryer but it was unpleasant. Good selection of wines.
Good food, and great wine. The scallops with wakame jam are absolutely worth a visit - even more so if you can sop up the delicious buttery goodness left over with some bread. Very keen to return to see the menu change and develop over time.
Ever changing snack-sized menu is always excellent. Wines are leaning towards the natural end but they have a good balance between classic styles as well. Two dog friendly tables outside. Vegetarian options are usually excellent.
Great wine bar. Went here prior to heading into Dier Makr. They ask what wine you’re into and come up with the goods, from mild European style reds to funky reds. They are helpful, interesting and a great venue to support.
Small and personal with no compromise on genuine service and amazing food. I would recommend leaving it up to the staff to pick your glass of wine - went back multiple times and discovered a new favourite each time.
Hobart needs more places like this. Even though it’s a wine bar, food is executed brilliantly and you’re guaranteed to find a wine that goes with it that you’ll like! Relaxed and down to earth.
Intimate atmosphere in what feels like someone's home kitchen. Personable and friendly staff who have excellent skill in tailoring wine choice to your desires or mood. Highly recommend.
Love this place! Cosy, amazing wine, great snack food - highly recommend. Went twice this week while visiting from Sydney

Cracking vibe, wines, food and service. We let the servers select the wines for the night and were treated to some different and super interesting wines that were out of the box.
Great fun, a nice little corner for some day-drinking. Very knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend trying the sake and uuzo range available. Staff recommendations are fantastic
Incredible! Don't worry about any degustations etc. Just come here and pick what you want. Chill service & non-pretencious. Pints are pretty well priced for a wine bar too.
wonderfully cosy vibe, friendly and helpful service, delicious food and drinks

Lowely wine bar with interesting options to pick from. All food here are served cold. The cheese pastery was very good with wine. The food was slighly overpriced.
Cosy spot for a wine. Simple but inventive food offering and good music. Really liked the solitary long table in the middle of the room. Nice bar.
If there would be 7 stars, definitely it would be the most right review for this cozy place. Services is great but good it's just amazing.
Just fantastic. What a surprise and delight! Food and service fit for a fine dining resturant without the price tag. Lovely little spot
Awesome little spot to chill for a drink and snack. Music is on point and the food is magic. Do yourself a favour and stop by.
Pete's got a great menu to complement the lovely wine list. Great produce, proper cooking, natty wines - what's not to love!
Loved our experience so much we came back the next day on our trip to Hobart. Couldn't fault the wine, staff or food.
Not sure why this place is 4.4. It is a sold 4.9-5.0. Great food and wine plus unofficial David Walsh sightings.
Could someone update your opening days / hours because I was coming for dinner and you guys are closed. Thanks.
Tell them what you're into then put your trust in these guys for an incredible grape juice experience.
Groovy place. Serves food and an amazing array of wines. It's tiny so be prepared to wait or book.
love the atmosphere! all the dishes are delicious, the wine they recommended just what i like!
Excellent across the board. Beautiful food, cozy ambience, warm staff. Highly recommend
Exquisite wines. Knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff. Tasty food. Funky art inside.
Wines by the glass. Obscure. One red one white. $17 Barbera d'asti. $18 macabeo. Meh
Didn’t let my mate in - he waited over an hour and let multiple people in Before him
Great spot for fine wine - we didn't eat here but everything looked delicious!
