This is a place that time forgot! Old, dingy, empty shelves, outdated cake decorations, very limited supply, no cookie cutters or anything for cookies, dog treats or even cupcakes. Even Walmart has much more cake supplies to offer unless you want to drive to the Northside cake stores, then you’re better off at Walmart! I had a horrible experience 19 years ago and I just took a chance before I headed north, and no surprise, once again I was turned off! Oh and the lack of excellent customer service, it’s horrible! These older ladies especially the one with eyeglasses at the front counter, she needs CS training badly and needs to rid of the Southside mentality! When someone walks into you’re store you are supposed to be greeted and acknowledged even if you are with another customer! She never did any! Ghetto service and outdated supplies! Get with the program. I will inform my friends and family to go elsewhere for a cake and classy service at that!

I went in around 15mins before closing and there was no customers in the shop. I started asking questions and the ladies there seemed like I was bothering them. I came in looking for a cake box for a 2 tier cake and the lady guaranteed it would fit in the cake box they gave me and it was for a double layer cake instead of tiered cakes. I also went for other supplies and everything I asked for was greeted with rude responses; Huffing and puffing along with rolling their eyes. Needless to say I won't be going back. I only went because it was highly suggested by my friends and I wanted support a small business rather than a supply chain like hobby lobby. I mean at least there i can get better service and smiling faces. No wonder there was no one in there

I ordered a cake on Wednesday and was not asked the colors I want or anything as far as being very attentive to me like she didn't care she said streamers and confetti cake and a name I went to pick up the cake and it looked like a 4th of July cake red white and blue pink cake it was to be a 19 year old female and wanted strawberry filling and barley had any filling I was so disappointed in this cake I won't be going back after many years of going it was expensive and I didn't get what i want I hope you guys be very specific on what you want cuz they won't ask you for colors and the filling is not worth it sorry never again

There were no cakes that are already made to "pick up and go". No books to browse to while waiting to be attended to by someone. No sample spread of cake bites with coffee or drinks displayed while waiting for assistance. Prices were too high for a regular sheet cake that unfortunately HEB did have the decorations for (we needed a Minnie Mouse deco's). We could have paid $25 at the local HEB but paid $63 instead at Lucy's. I understand Lucy's is a special order cake order bakery but there was nothing special about the cake we got that we could have easily could have gotten same quality of cake cheaper elsewhere.

I'm really disappointed with this place. I will not be ordering cakes from this place. At my sons request for his Graduation party June 8, 2019, I ordered a half white/half chocolate strawberry filled full sheet cake. To our surprise as we cut the cake, it was all white NO chocolate. We were so disappointed. I called Lucy's to let the upper authority know and the teen who answered the phone told me that she doesn't go in, only once a week. What kind of manager/owner only goes into a work place once a week. I left my name & # and have NEVER heard from anyone until this day. Very POOR service

The customer service was a 1 (terrible), the cake was a 5 (great). When you call in a order and they give you a time for it to be ready for pick-up, you dont expect to have to sit in line for 40 minutes with people that came to take 20+ minutes each to talk and decide what they want. I understand the people wanting to consult with the bakery about the cake they want, I have a problem with the Lucy's Cake Shop saying screw customer service. I should have been in there 2 minutes max since i was the ONLY person picking up a cake!! The cake was bomb though!!!

My boss ordered a cake for his wife's birthday & I took him to pick it up. Unfortunately it wasn't what he wanted. He wanted chocolate on chocolate & they gave him white cake with chocolate frosting. When he mentioned it, they told him that he should have been more specific when ordering. I felt like that was kinda rude customer service. He paid a good price for that cake. Regardless he took it. It was a great tasting cake. I love that the frosting wasn't thick or too sweet. Overall the cake was very enjoyable.

Cake are delicious BUT customer service is horrible! The workers are SO slow! Maria is always there and is aways slow. She'd rather answer the phone than finish up with costumers that are in the store. I can go in to order a cake and spend 30 minutes just waiting for someone to help me even when the store is empty. I've been getting my cakes here for over 10 years and it's never been this bad. Hopefully they do something about it because there are plenty people that feel the same way!

Honestly not the same as they used to be. We used to order Lucy’s cakes for every occasion and they were always delicious. But today they wanted to charge us $120+ for an 8” round cake. No added decor other than frosting. I understand the pandemic has caused some hard losses for many business but gouging customers’ eyes out isn’t the best way to keep your loyal guests. We’re making our cakes ourselves from now on. Much cheaper and we get the exact results we want.

I can Always rely on Lucy’s Cakes! When you want a good old fashioned “butter cream” icing cake with a yummy filling, that’s affordable...come to Lucy’s! I have spent over $100.00 for a classy “Fondant” cake and it’s like eating sweet leather! They are only good for decoration & pictures. If you want a cake you can eat and enjoy the icing as much as the cake, you must go to Lucys! You won’t spend all your Budget Party Money either!

These are the best cakes I’ve ever seen. Love Lucy’s I had a cake made for my daughter an she charged me 40 an they put glitter on it an everything an I didn’t have to pay for it. It was a extra that they didn’t know they had put very good. An who ever says that it’s a bad place are telling a lie. They do the cake the way you say you want it because the lady is there writing it down.

They make the best cake in the world! We buy our cakes every year here and it is always perfect. It's a family place so if you don't know anyone who know this place, you probably wont know about this. It's kind of a hidden place, eventhough they have been around for so long. If generations of family buy their cake from this place, you know its the best!!!

They have everything that I need to make my cakes. And the ladies are very helpful! Cakes may seem simple to some, but if they're simple, make them yourself. And no, they don't take lone star. If you're having a birthday and need to use the lone star card for it, then don't have one. Or make the cake yourself.

Amazing place to get a cake done I’ve gone to the one on 410 and here both amazing place I haven’t been disappointed yet I know this cake I got I was worried it wasn’t going to look like the picture but it came out better then imagined, the cake was nice and moist taste was amazing as well

Cakes are great! I've always loved Lucy's cakes but the Military locations staff is extremely rude. The past three experiences at this location have been with JoAnn, she is rude and makes sarcastic comments when I've asked questions about designs. Great cakes but horrible customer service.

We ordered our wedding cake from Lucy's Cake Shop 21 years ago. When we are in town visiting family and have a special occasion we always order cakes from Lucy's. They continue to be consistent and the quality of there cakes are the same, so delicious. Everyone is very friendly.

Spent over $300 at this place HUGE MISTAKE!!! Promised a cake and got something that was NOT even close and poor quality to boot. 100 guests and I was horrified, don't let this happen to you. Brought my nightmare issue to them and they offered me a tiny store credit, wow thanks!

Do not go here! All they care about is money. They wanted to charge us $60 for a cake that serves 25-30 people then an ADDITIONAL $60 for the design! I understand cakes take time and effort but the design we wanted wasn't complicated at all so the pricing just seemed ridiculous

Got there at 5:10 pm today, on a Tuesday and the place was closed. Their website says they close at 6:00 pm. They need to update their website hours. It's frustrating when you have to drive almost 30 minutes to get there.

Very friendly, and fast, even though it was a Saturday, they were well prepared to handle the people like me, looking for a special cake.... at the last minute, and they even offered suggestions on the decoration

Paid 56.00 for a cake that was not decorated properly. Was in a rush and didn't have the time to complain right then and there. Fortunately everyone enjoyed the cake despite the mistake. What else could we do?

Ordered and German Chocolate Cake and the greman chocolate frosting was not any good! It had a pale light coloring to it, an almost white in color and the flavor was terrible. Should have went to Nadler's.

Oh my goodness!!! They have white cakes for sale. You tell them what you want in writing or colors they go to the back and come back with a cake decorated beyond my expectations.

When i was in a rush and needed buttercream for my cake orders because i didn't have time to make it, i bought a giant tub of their buttercream. The best buttercream ever!

Fantastic fresh cakes here. We ordered a full sheet white cake with pineapple filling and marshmallow frosting is the best. The baby shower was complete with the cake.
