I went to Madewell last weekend as it was my birthday and I was very excited to buy a new pair of jeans from them. Given, I didn't care for the first $100 pair of jeans I bought since they felt tight, never loosened up, and I gained a few pounds. But moving on. We were greeted with a worker who practically yelled at my mother in-law for using the wrong cleaning supply that was placed at the entry of the door way. After we told her, "Hey, maybe you should not put chemicals here - especially since you said almost everyone has tried to use it before." I tried my best to keep calm and search for some clothes. However, the same employee said we can't use the dressing rooms (understandably so) but then she said to come back on the weekdays where we could use the dressing rooms...I don't see any sense in this and no we aren't going to come back but again I tried to maintain my positive attitude as it was my birthday and I could still look at clothes. However, lo and behold the same employee was interrogating me and asking what pair of jeans do I like, and don't worry we can ship them and you can return them. Her attitude towards us was almost degrading and she seemed only interested in selling us jeans and shipping them. Any woman knows it is hard to "pick a pair" without trying them on. Anyway, I decided to leave the store empty handed with a sour taste in my mouth from this employee. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping here again or at Madewell . Please invest into a company that actually cares about you. Because this one does not.

I really wanted to like Madewell. The concept and aesthetic are spot on. However, every single item I've purchase at Madewell, outside of jeans has literally fallen apart within weeks! Their prices are quite high for shoddy products. I purchased a $135 romper there and the whole hem came out the first time I wore it. Also some earrings I purchased came unglued from their posts and literally fell off my ear the second time I wore them. I thought those were both just coincidences, but then recently made a purchase of a skirt with buttons up the front and ad blousey top with flowers the snaps in a couple places. The button literally came all the way out of the skirt leaving a whole and the snaps on the top came un-sewn so that they are just dangling by a thread. I had a couple pairs of their jeans from a few years ago that have held up well. But everything else appears to be a total rip-off and goes completely against the whole name of their store!!!

Poor customer service, managing staff person was rude because she felt inconvenienced. I was told by a salesperson I could have an an item price adjusted I had ordered online since it reduced in price & her manager proceeded to tell me that she would make it a one time acception. I said thank you, it was much appreciated. A minute later she asks if it was longer than a week because they won't do the adjustment if it was longer than a week. Well it wasn't and it shouldn't take over 10 minutes on the register to do a simple price adjustment. Why the hassle #Madewell? After I left the store I noticed on my receipt that I ended up being charged more than I originally paid.. disappointed.

Honestly, the best customer service I've ever had. The employees give honest feedback and extra attentive to everyone in the store. And when trying to find a product online or any other store in the country, they work above and beyond tracking the perfect Jean down. Also worked extra fast so I could get out of the store to make it to my appointment. Plus, their donating Jean's program is awesome! I love this store. Especially this location. They always take care of me. Thank you, Madewell. And, in response to the crowd in the store, I agree but only on weekends which is understandable! It's a downtown location. If you go on weekdays its great and you get all their attention :)

The staff here is a little mixed. Individually, everyone is extremely helpful, however there is an aura of aloofness and hipness that I find slightly off-putting. That being said, the clothes are lovely. They are on the pricier end, but will last you several seasons and have fresh designs. There is a great range of timeless and new styles, all with an emphasis on clean lines, beautiful textiles, and comfort. They have a nice selection of items on sale and in a good range of sizes and styles. I've been very pleased with my purchases. They have a strict 30 day return policy.

Speaking as someone who has worked in retail for 5+ years, I find it very strange that no employee at any point while I was in there last week spoke one word to me or even acknowledged that I was there, all the while they tried to move around me. It was extremely uncomfortable. Maybe I didn’t fit their “type” with my athletic style leggings and Nike shirt that I was wearing. Just a hello or a smile would have been nice. I’ll stick to buying madewell online or from Nordstrom.

I went in this store to get my wife a Christmas present. The staff was crazy awesome! I knew what I wanted but couldn't find it on my own (because I'm a complete noob). They helped me find what I need in the size that I needed and were super quick. No pressure to buy anything else or keep browsing. I love it when I can shop without any pressure from the sales staff. These guys are great!

The employees at this store have always been great! However, the quality of the clothes is not so great. I purchased two whisper cotton tees and within two months they both had holes in the front after very little wear. And of course, that exceeds the 30 day return window. Very disappointed that I spend $40 on those T-shirts expecting quality material.

5 stars for the jeans. 4 for the service. The pants fit great and look awesome. Comfortable and have a quality feel. The attendants in the store were fairly pushy with their constant hovering and weren't helpful with suggestions. Offered to grab sizes and helped with pulling jeans out of their ridiculous stacks.

Delaney went above and beyond to help me find sizes that fit, checking the back room, looking online, and doing an order from another store (after calling multiple stores). She spent at least 45 minutes helping me and was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable throughout. Highly recommend this store and Delaney!

Great clothes. Reasonable enough prices especially with discounts or sales which are frequent. The shoes are especially nice. My girlfriend makes me stop in here all the time. It's a comfortable store and they have a good selection and friendly employees. Cool location too.

I shopped in the Madewell store in Palo Alto, CA at Stanford Mall, and it was a wonderful experience. I purchased two handbags, a necklace with the extender attached and a key chain change purse. It was a very pleasant experience. Thank you Madewell Team.

Although the store was low in stock at the time of my visit, staffs were very helpful with my questions. I lost my phone during shopping and when I came back to look for it, they already found mine and stored it in a safe spot. Thank you!

Literally the nicest staff ever. I always feel helped and well taken care of here and always leave having had a good laugh. Shopping can be really mentally and emotionally draining and the girls here make it a lot better.

Everyone there was so nice and knowledgeable, the store was clean and bright and friendly and body positive. My only suggestion is to put fans in the changing room because I was a sweaty mess by the time I was done …

I love their ethical and sustainable mission and it's great for shopping for myself, but it doesn't sell men's clothes. Apparently, they only sell them online.

Crowded, tight space. The retail associates were very rude. Visited the location at Bridgeport Village and had a great time, however.

Cute store but they emailed me a receipt that wasn't mine and claimed that it was the fault of their upgraded computer system.
