This is one of my favorite beaches on lake Washington. It can get quite busy in the summer, but there's usually enough space to set a towel down. The swimming area is large, and if you're more of an open water swimmer (this is a popular place for them), you can swim past that area and still not be in boat traffic but be visible from shore. Parking can be quite tight as the neighborhood has several apartments with this residents parking on the street. I prefer to bike there instead. The beach and swimming area is mostly sand/silt, instead of rocks like at some of the other beaches. Not a ton of water plants, either, if those freak you out. There's a little bathroom, but it's locked in the off-season. I either come prepared or deck change. A minor downside is because it's on the east side of a hill, it doesn't have as much afternoon sun, so it'll get colder to hang out after about 3pm or so. Best swimming (if you want warm sun) is earlier than 2pm. If you want no crowds, though, you can swim in the evening (at your own risk, naturally). There are several eateries (pizza, brunch, a pub), coffee spot, and a grocery within walking distance.
Great beach with beautiful eastward view of the Cascades. The core of downtown Bellevue rises above the near horizon. The drone of 520 provides an ocean like sonic ambience. A parade of all types of boats make their way north and south, sending their waves towards the beach. Distance swimmers come and go from here as well. Always awe-inspiring to see them with their florescent orange swimmers buoy round the bend of the protruding apartment buildings that flank the southside of the beach. There is always something happening at Madison Park Beach.
A great place to hang out just about anytime, but if you like a nice beach on a hot day then this is the place and it gets packed. Always bring a blanket to sit on and food, but there are restaurants and even ice cream close by. Catch a bus or walk if you don't want to search for parking, there's actually a lot of parking but regulars and locals get those spots quick. This is the best public beach on the west side of Lake Washington, due to is size and double diving boards and deeper water. Have fun
Best place to cool off in the crazy heat wave of Seattle downtown area. The water is green, and perfectly cold. It was the most refreshing thing we could have done.. must checkout for meeting lovely locals of this wonderful town aka Grunge City. Can see Mt Rainier, and a few other snow tipped peaks from the water line. Upto 4 lifeguards on duty, with a vigilant presence. Great for kids and grownups alike. Entry is slightly rocky, with a sandy bottom for the rest of the swimmable area.
I grew up here as a small child so have a soft spot for it already. However, I hadn't been here in probably 15 years. Took my 6 month old and my 7 year old and we had a blast. Hung out at the park for a while then went down to the water (literally across the street), where my son played in the sand and water. Lots of new great restaurants and of course the awesome ice cream shop that's still there, cash or check only but totally worth it!
Living in Madison Valley Madison Park is a quaint friendly spot to meet up with friends and meet new people. If you're going to have dinner in the area it's a great place to sit and relax while you wait for your table or your party to arrive. Plus you can't beat the views in the people are so friendly and nice. Very dog friendly very people-friendly and overall experience if you're in the area you should check out.
Great place to come to watch the sun rise. You even might have a few of the neighborhood mallards join you with gentle curiosity. Restroom facilities are available along with the option to do laps in the designated swimming zones. However, do bring sunscreen simply cause there isn't much shade available here. Along with towels and chairs if you so desire to swim and get a little sun kiss as well +
Has always been a spot to go chill in the w water and view across at the Medina Bellevue area
Playground
A great place for kids
Restrooms
More clean than I thought it would be
Dog-friendliness
The people treated my hustle like he was one of their own no one complained only startled at his first appearance because he is a bully Pitbull breed once encountered they all adored thank you
Beautiful beach with sand seashells love the waves water clean you look at ya toes no mud. People are nice there. Lifeguards react fast in time sensitive situations. The park to play in just across street you can jump 11 bus dtown to there less then 10min ride. The beach is small it just right its dog friendly too. The eating places are good supermarket too hardware store cute lil cuddlesac
A kid playground with little shade in the center but many shades around located uphill next to a beach. Metal Swing-N-Slide play-set, plastics swings, at least 3 Bugaloo Playgrounds, and some other creative plays. Some cafeterias across the street, Bank of America and Wells Fargo are a little further across the street. There are two tennis fields where you can play. Parking here is easy.
I always love Madison Park. It's quiet and beautiful. on warm sunny days it's a little less quiet but I've never been down there and had any issues people are generally pretty respectful and there is a water fountain and bathrooms so that is helpful. There's tons of cute shops right by the park so it's a great place to stroll after a weekend brunch.
Madison Park is a Seattle favorite for families and friends looking to swim, float, paddleboard or just sit and enjoy the sun. There is a designated swimming area with lifeguards on duty during the day. Be warned in this time of covid though, going on a hot day or weekend it will be very difficult to social distance.
I really like this park. The beach is nice and mostly sandy with lots of grassy area to lounge. Can't give five stars cause when I was there on the swimming dock there were very unsafe structures of slides and diving board that they had dismantled but not removed the metal parts and kids were playing on it.
Love swimming here and love that I can always find room in the hill to lounge. The parking in this area is not the best though so you have to be aware of that. There are some cute shops and places to eat within walking distance which is nice, but it is a popular area so that is why the parking is weird.
Good place for a swim. Space to lay out, large amount of controlled swimming space (boats that cause waves are not allowed within a good distance). The only bad signs are that on busy days it can be hard to find a spot to lay out, and harder to find parking. The bathrooms are only open some of the time.
Great space for sunbathing, walking the dog, or taking the kids to play. Very small, narrow beach with a nice grassy hill area. Public restrooms are spare, but clean. Decent sized swimming area with pylons that make it easy to track distance. Good street parking - 4 hours and free.
Playground across the street nice beach there is a dock you can swim to and had diving board. There is an apartment you can swim under and it's cool . Nice shady areas to stay out of the heat and just chill. There is restrooms/ showers and it's in a great neighborhood. …
Crowded! And l, is it really a beach ¯\_(ツ)_/¯... It boarders Lake Washington and is very beautiful when it's clear and you can see the mountains in the distance. Also closely located to bars and restaurants so it is a lot of fun to go. Can just be very crowded some days.
Great playground and near the beach. Some more challenging climbing structures for bigger kids. Close to many restaurants.
Playground
Fun playground.
Restrooms
Restrooms are not directly by the playground, but instead across the street near the beach.
Nice little neighborhood pocket park. The beach is rather small but lovely enough. Suitable for families. Seldom overwhelming crowds but when there are, I'd skip it. Bonus: you're only a hop and a handful of skips from Madison Beach's cafés and shops.
Fun beach! We loved jumping off the diving board and great view of Mt. Ranier! Very popular beach and super fun to people watch. We went on a hot summer day in our boat and pulled right up and docked! Definitely going back here for more summer fun!!
Beautiful little park and beautiful clear water. Has an area for jumping into lake and a dock area you can jump off too. It has good set of trees for shaded areas and enough sand for little ones to play. Would definitely come back again!
I love to take my scooter with me as there lots of dpace where there room for walkers, bike riders, and my scooter. I also like when the summertime come around, looking at the cruise ships. It makes me want to book a cruise which I did.
Beautiful area of Seattle,on the banks of Lake Washington. Fun to visit, with fine restraint, pubs, and shops. Wine expert at Berts will lead you to the best tasting wine, whatever your occasion ! Have fun, bring your family and friends @
Great place to walk your dog, go on a date, or do some shopping.
Playground
Retro.
Restrooms
Didn't see any.
Dog-friendliness
Okay as long as your not on the beach.
Picnic area
Didn't quite see one.
This park could be 5 stars but it allows smoking and cigarette butts are everywhere. Marked off kids area way to shallow, my daughter is average height for a 6 year old and deepest part of kid area only comes to her waste.
Great place for family and friends! This place is great for family outings for your kids and just to hang out with friends. I love to come here on my weekends and spend time in the most beautiful place of Lake Washington.
It is good place to relax is right by the ocean and you can sit down on the beach and there's a little store in there a little mini mart which is very cheap store and it is an expensive is a nice to relax enjoy
Nice relaxing park/beach (Seattle beach with staircase into water instead if sand) near a very walkable area with shops and restaurants:) In summer this place is heavily frequented by ice cream trucks …
It's a very beautiful place with a kid and parent friendly beach, interesting play area for the little ones. Very beautiful and worth the experience! It's one of the best beaches in Seattle we've been to!
Really chill gathering place on nice weather. There's a decent sized park on a hill and a pier for docking your boat or just hanging out. A block away from some amazing restaurants and bars as well.
A great sunny day to chill at Madison Beach Park. There is an area to swim in with relatively easy access. There are also restaurants nearby but plan on arriving early to grab a great parking spot.
We always love to just chill at d park, park is always busy with lots of people specially on a sunny day. Nice places to eat nearby in walkable distance... Parking is sometimes challenging though!
I grew up in this neighborhood, its great to see how it stays clean and has a newly built big toy for kids to play on so now I bring my kids here too and visit the famous bakery that's still here
The beach seatting area can be much cleaner! The bathrooms and changing rooms are really super dirty. The view is always great and water itself seems clean. Lifeguards and diving boards are fun!
Great place to chill especially morning because they it is less crowded. Amazing view over Washington lake , there is small beach that also gets crowded during the day , especially if it’s hot .
Loved the place. Absolute fun and frolic. Children can enjoy swimming and playing on the beach. A lifeguard is always watchful and supervises the children. Beautiful place to spend a sunny day.
A relaxing beach with a view of the floating bridge and Lake Washington. A perfect way to spend a day in the sun. Very watchful life guards on duty noon to 7pm most days in the summer.
Best place to go to during the summer. At nighttime I love to play with my best friends. We go skinny dipping and make out on the floating dock. The diving board is perfect for two.
Madison is a very beautiful beach but it was entirely too packed with absolutely no social distancing.. it was an amazing hot & sunny day.. even sitting in your car off in the cuts
Great place for families and single mothers. Lifeguards located by swimming area, beaches and near by parking. Very small area that gets populated quickly in the summer.
The area that you swim in is spacious without being too big. I take my grandson and he cannot swim yet. The area is roped off and the best thing is they have lifeguards.
Fun, laid back beach spot close to lots of great restaurants and shopping. The beach is grass (and mostly dead at this point in the summer) but it's a beautiful spot.
Super sunny today! But was petty packed, anyone who's concerned about covid19, have your mask on at all times and try to sanitize your hands as often as you can.
The play area is challenging for active climbers though there will be a large gap of non-use between the toddler play structure and the full sized structure.
A lovely Seattle's waterfront community that offers stunning views of the city, and great choices of restaurants and parks. Nice family outing.
Superb place to chill and feel relaxed! Waterfront and view of Mt Rainier! Lots of ducks around and an overall relaxing feel to the place.
Wonderful routes and water for open water swim. There's also a nice roped off swim area with diving board that I didn't really use.
It’s a nice place to go, quite and clean, only thing that I didn’t like, it has not enough place to sit, that’s why I give 4 stars.
Great place for those sunny days! Fun vibe all around. Usually more upbeat on left of building and more family friendly on right!
Great beach. Just watch for land mines. Duck poop dog poop bird poop. Just near the water but its always fun to swim on hot days!
Nice park very busy even on a cloudy day. Great playground for the kids and a few steps away from the waterfront or restaurants.
The park is pretty small with a couple of tennis courts and a playground in the middle. Next to the park is a nice public beach.
Good playground. Awesome beach. Highlight is the zipline and climbable animal sculptures. Big kid and little kid climbers here.
This quiet enclave of Seattle's core neighborhoods is worth a visit. In warm weather you can take a swim in Lake Washington.
Still one of my favorite places to go swimming. Only issue is parking and on the beach they have lifeguards which is a plus.
Madison Park is a fantastic waterfront location to hangout with friends & take in the Seattle sunshine with friendly people.
Lots of activities for all ages at this park from the toddler play area to the Zip line the older kids can't get enough of.
Nice beach front it's to bad they don't try too keep the grass green & keep it feeling like other parts of Madison valley.
Beautiful park, would have given it a 5 star review but the playground was inder repair and not very well marked off.
Quite a fun place and so great to have a "swimming" hole in the middle of the city. This beach is quite comfortable!
I love it here . It's beautiful and peaceful . Plus the residents who live around here are a great bunch of people.
Great lake side beach with both grass and sand. Local shops nearby and a great playground!! One of my favorites!
nice little park with a beach, playground, and tennis courts. there's a bathroom on the north end near the beach.
Perfect spot for Summertime Weekend Picnic. Lots of people watching, swimming, and socializing. Sometimes a DJ.
Large area for swimming for ones who can't pass swimming test. Great playground. But some problem with parking.
A nice and small park to spend some time with family and friends. It has a small playground for kids as well.
Isn't too busy lately but they took out the swimming platform I guess to discourage swimming during pandemic.
Beautiful beach, well kept area, good swimming, cute lifeguard boys. Lol It's got everything. …
Popular grass beach which attracts plenty of young people. The diving platform and swimming area are great.
This beach definitely had the neighborhood feel..it is very well manicured, it is taken care of very well..
Really good playground for kids with lots of different toys and a zip-line. Surprised by how clean it was.
Nice diving boards, water is warm, but parking can be difficult and lifeguards keep yelling all the time.
One of my favorite beaches in Seattle. It gets very busy on a sunny day - but definitely understandable.
It's my hood. a great neighborhood too! The beach, shops and restaurants make it a great place to visit.
I loved the beach, the view and my time spent in the sun. I really enjoy this beach and my time here.
It is clean and close to public transportation , restaurants, varaity of little stores around the area
Standard. Best swimming beach on the lake perhaps and always a lively crowd. Great for a night swim.
Always lovely to walk the dog, check out the shops and have a few drinks the Red Onion or McGilvra's
One of my favorite places to swim. Beautiful area to stretch out a picnic and enjoy a peaceful day.
Great place to pass through or visit for the afternoon. Walk way, fields, playground, water access.
very fun playground for kids! and the beach area is so close, and beautiful. definitely recommend!
Lovely place to spend the afternoon. Have circles marked on the floor for keeping your distance.
Sandy kid’s beach. Diving boards all summer. Awesome playground. Best swimming spot in seattle.
Great neighborhood. People are quite friendly. Relaxed vibe for being so close to the big city.
Lots of room to exercise your dogs. Easy access to lake Washington. Lots of available parking
Great playground. Well maintained, clean, lots of kids! Majority of parents are attentive.
Amazing place to chill and relax, swimming comes seasonal, lots of cool eateries around.
This is a great little park with water access. Little area with restaurants surround it.
Cool little park with a swim area on Lake Washington. If it is a beach there is no sand.
Beautiful Beach on Lake Washington! Nice area to ride. Just go S. from there to Renton!
Great scenery. Places to eat . Bus friendly. Good safety with lifeguards. Pet friendly.
Best neighborhood to spend some time walking around and seeing all the shops and parks.
Its small compared to other parks in Seattle. But it has a lot of food options nearby.
GOOD PLACE AND SILENT,CLEAN, COPORATIVE PEOPLE. LOVELY LOCATION WITH GREENERY FLOWERS
Beautiful view and great people watching. Wonderful playground across the street too.
Grassy beach front, good view of Lake Washington, Cascades, Bellevue, Mt Rainier.
The playground has one of those Zipline things and the beach is relatively sandy
Beautiful area. Lived in Seattle my whole life and have never been here before.
