Took my 4yo cavoodle here 6 weeks prior to her last groom and there were no issues. The groom is $110 so $30-$40 more than anywhere else but I justified this because if anything was abnormal or went wrong it’s at a vet not just groomer. When I picked her up from her last groom I was told they cut a mole/wart off her accidentally so I’ll notice blood near her face. there was a large scab and blood but it looked like it would heal by itself and it was never followed up or suggested I bring her back. Within 2 weeks it became quite infected, when I called to let them know about the infection I was told to bring her in but I’d have to pay all the costs. The clinic manager was condescending from the get go and gave me multiple different excuses as to why I should be paying. Excuse 1. ‘Dogs get these lesions that spontaneously bleed all the time for no reason, it’s unreasonable for you to think we should cover the costs and you say it’s the groomers 2 years down the track’ yes she said ‘2 years’, it’s been 2 weeks. Excuse 2. ‘How do we know it was the groomers?’ Even though the notes say they had caused the bleed because of the growth but no previous notes were made about it looking suspicious or anything. Excuse 4. ‘We will cover the cost if you bring her back within 5 days IF it’s a cut caused by the groomer but not if it’s a mole or wart’ so what she’s saying is if the groomers cut something on the dog that’s raised they won’t be covering costs. It was a growth that had never been an issue before, I’d never noticed it, there were no notes about it looking suspicious until they cut it and only because it’s raised are they expecting me to pay for the damage. DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL THERE IF YOU EXPECT THEM TO BE IN GOOD CARE OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT BE PAYING FOR THE INITIAL SERVICE THEN A FOLLOW UP TO PAY FOR THE DAMAHE THE INITIAL SERVICE CAUSED. I love how you just down right lied. That had never bled before, there were no previous notes or mentions about it, the groomer specifically said I’ll notice blood because she cut her, how could she notice an old scab if she already made it bleed? That would mean the scab wouldn’t be present if there ever was one, and not to mention my dog was still caused to bleed while in your care and sent home without any precautions and with a severe lack of duty of care! For you to then mention on the phone ‘if we did this for free for everyone we couldn’t afford that’ just goes to show how often this must happen to these poor animals. After posting about it on Instagram, seems I am not the only one who has experienced this with you guys which is then followed up by a complete lack of responsibility or care.

Going to Malvern Vet started off well enough. It quickly deteriorated to the point where I have gone elsewhere and would recommend you give them a miss. What are my issues? They keep medical records on pets but never read them so have no idea who your pet is or why they are there. Maybe this doesn’t matter for a cavoodle puppy with no issues but when you have old or pets with complex needs it is actually important. A waste of everyone’s time and not really taking things seriously. Understand that they are busy but we all are and you are paying for the service. You get a different vet every time each with their own interests, theories and recollections. If they have an interest in A, B or C that will be there focus. Sometimes they completely forget that they have ever seen the animal before and have no idea about their medical issues despite the fact they did an ultrasound to diagnose the problem. You come to collect an animal from being there for a half day, they forget they’ve got them. They start doing a test on the animal and the equipment breaks down. Not ideal but fine. They are going to phone you when they have purchased a new device or fix the machine. Never happens. No follow up. You order medication. They forget to tell you that it is there to pick up. You request a refill of regular medication during a lockdown they couldn’t be less accommodating. They don’t care about the animal they are interested in their policy. They will follow up when the animal has something minor done. When it is some significant health issue not a word. You take an animal who cannot walk or stand on their back legs to the vet. A vet examines them and diagnoses sudden onset arthritis and prescribes anti-inflammatories. The animal deteriorates within an hour of seeing the vet. You phone them and they say whatevs take them to emergency. Had a blood clot. Never any follow up or interest in significant health issue that occurred. When you raise serious concerns they could not be less interested. I regret ever going to Malvern Vet. They are slick enough (when the animal goes under they ask you if they can film them for insta) but not really interested in the customer or most importantly the animals they treat.

Wouldn't recommend this vet. I experienced numerous issues across the 9 months in which I was at this vet. I took my puppy here back in March as he was vomiting white bile every morning and I was incredibly worried. He had 4 appointments in the one week, in which not a single vet/nurse could identify what was wrong with him, and only suggested changing his diet and feeding frequencies. It was only on the fourth visit that they finally suggested I get an x-ray (which I had said I was happy to do day 1 if that was what was required). He was rushed into surgery as the x-ray showed a foreign body found inside his intestines. I never received a follow up call from Malvern Vet nor an apology for failing to take the duty of care and suggest an x-ray earlier in the week rather than waiting nearly 7 days across the 4 appointments. Notwithstanding this experience, I continued to return to Malvern Vet hoping it was a once off poor experience. Since then, I haven't received any follow up calls to check on the puppy when I've brought him in, and to add to the poor service, the costs are exorbitant, inconsistent and unexplained. They offer standard consults, medical consults, double medical consults (which all vary in time length and cost) and if your appointment runs even a minute over the allocated 15 or 20 minute appointment they charge you an extra time fee of $35 for every additional 10 minutes. Whilst I spoke to management about the above confusion they seemed more concerned with justifying why there are numerous additional costs rather than providing gold star service, even after acknowledging they incorrectly charged me for an appointment. In addition to all of this, my partner was double charged recently for a consult, on top of being charged $135 for a 15 minute consult (this was the consult cost excluding any medications etc). They also forgot to give me medication which I paid for the last time I was there.

WORST VET EVER!!! ALL THEY THINK ABOUT IS HOW TO RIP OFF MONEY! I took my 12 month old Ginger boy for the routinal check up and annual vaccination. He is a mischievous, full of energy, playful and healthy boi with perfect weight and by looking at him anyone can say he looks healthy but Nope, not all of them, the gold digger VETS at this absolutely majestic and selfless, caring for animals clinic doesn’t think so, when they saw my boy, all they saw was a money bag and opportunity to make money. I was scared that he has heart mur-mur and he will die if I don’t do tests and 2D echo cardiograph, also mentioned his gums are damaged and has ginitivitis between grade 1 and grade 2 ( grade wise because they can rip of more from there visual money bags). Total estimation given was around 2.5 grand and not to forget they also said to sedate him and bring again so they can suck his blood so that way they can suck money. I went to the Australian Cat protection society for 2nd opinion and guess what they said, he is the magnificent gorgeous boy with perfect health and weight, has no mur-mur or ginitivitis, she checked using sethescope unlike the VET at Malvern Clinic just checked with her bare hands to confirm that he might have heart issue and can soon be DEAD. SHAMELESS, HEARTLESS, PATHETIC LOSERS who are just to RIP you off, charged me 200 bucks and sent me with anxiety and trauma, no worm treatment, no vaccination and estimation and worry to spend of 2.5 grand or he will die. VET CLINIC who have no love or care or the innocent souls, HOW can you people wake up every morning without feeling shame, BEWARE OF THIS a MONEY MINDED FREAKS!

Nice people but brutally overpriced. Took my dog there with "swimmers ear" he's had it before in Canada so I'm familiar with the treatment. It was a $160 bill at this Malvern clinic which included $27 for an inner ear cleaner they sell online for $13.50. Not the end of the world pet goods have a high markup. Anyways similar to the time before in Canada I ended up needing more antibiotics to clear the infection for good and they wanted another $160 so I told them I thought that was unreasonable and took the gaffer to Glen Huntley Vet upon a friend's referral. My final bill was $87 so about half the cost of this Malvern clinic. They gave me a bigger bottle of antibiotics and they're including a free consult afterwards to make sure the infection is all cleared up which is what this Malvern vet should've included in the first place. If I went to Malvern again I would've spent a total of $320 on something that Glen Huntley offers for $87 so they're not even in the same ballpark as far is pricing is concerned. What a cash cow. Don't get taken advantage of because you love your pet. Be smart you have options. Go to Glen Huntley Vet they're thorough and affordable. Hate to be negative but profiting that much on people's heartstrings is shameful. Informing nice normal people that this place charges $320 for healing a problem that actually costs $87 is worth writing my first online review. Good luck out there people they'll take your money if you give it to them.

I booked my two little cats for a check. ( I had been told on my last visit that there's be no charge for weight check) One was perfectly healthy but a little overweight. The other? well but loosing fur around and under her tail. She weighed Popi, said she wasn't obese and nothing needed other than to watch her food intake. Lili was losing hair under and around her tail. we discussed flea treatments. (I had found one flea on her). The vet proceeded to lecture on flea control, flea allergies, pest exterminators in the house, washing and if necessary buying new bedding for 20 minutes, most of the advise was well enough in theory but totally impractical and expensive to follow up. I'm well aware of the routine as I've had dogs and cats for 45 years. 40 minutes later, I'm presented a bill for two 20 minute consultations. over 200 dollars. For weighing one cat, and weighing the other and discussing fleas. Lili has no fleas, no bites, there are non in the house. The problem with fur loss persists. I'm afraid I'll have to find another Vet, which is a shame because I've been there before with my dog and the kitties and have had thorough discussions. Not 20 minute lectures about fleas. I felt like she was simply filling in time. You will note they never accept any responsibility for complaints

It’s rare that I’m blown away with exceptional service and care from a business. I recently moved to the Armadale area and shortly after this, my Hugo was complaining with pain. From the first phone call I could tell I was speaking with a professional, kind and very experienced business. Nothing was a problem for them. Dan was highly experienced, carefully assessed him, advised what it could be and suggested a plan for managing the concern. Unfortunately, when the problem turned out to be the worst case scenario, we were referred to a specialist vet clinic for surgery. Dan phoned me and left a personal voicemail, wanting to know how the surgery went at the other clinic on the Friday night at 6pm. I had follow up calls from the clinic enquiring as to how he was doing. The clinic arranged pain relief on request so that I didn’t have to drive to Moorabbin. The surgery was a success, however, tragically and very unluckily, Hugo’s recovery faltered and I made the very difficult decision to ease his pain by putting him down. The clinic found this out from the specialist and hand wrote me a sympathy card, which was heartfelt and showed how much they truly care for their patients. Hugo’s brother George and I will be lifelong customers of this business. You can’t buy care or kind.

My first visit to Malvern Vet was for a UTI for my cat. I understand everything has changed due to covid regulations however it was a circus!! I waited out the front and called to advise I had arrived and was on hold for nearly 10 minutes! When reception finally answered my call they said my appointment was cancelled due to being late!! I explained I wasn't late and have been out the front the whole time on hold! The receptionist rudely implied I was lying by stating 'well we've been answering the phone's all morning so how is that possible' I was shocked by this treatment and told them I would show them my call minutes to prove I was on time and on hold! My cat's treatment was unfortunately no better. When I picked her up she looked terrible and frightened (she is a relaxed natured cat) a different vet brought her out to me and asked if she was in a cat fight? My cat is an only pet and is indoors, so what even happened in there?! They then asked for payment and I enquired where my take away medication was, they responded that my cat didn't require any. I mentioned the other vet told me that I did. The vet went back in and came back out with my cat's medication... I won't be returning here!!

I don't usually write reviews but I simply want to put a word out there to the people working at the Malvern Vet Hospital. At the end of the day, our pets are like our children and I would only trust my dog in their hands. Even though I have moved from a convenient location from the area, I still take a drive to bring my pet there. My Westie has been in and out of various vets when he was a puppy due to a unusual condition he had. Most of the vets did not know what was wrong with him and a specialist wanted to take a sample of his jaw bone for testing. I was a new pet owner and being new to the country, I wasn't sure what to do or had any recommendations of where to bring him. However, after I brought him to Malvern Vet Hospital (based on my living location) for another opinion, they discovered what was wrong with him after sending his x-ray results to a radiologist and advised me what needed to be done. You can imagine my relief for not having to put my dog under that experience. All in all, I just wanted to say that this place has all my trust and I just wanted to say thank you for being so awesome! Keep up the good work :) From both Loki and I

Proceed with caution. Ensure when establishing an estimate for procedures and again on the day of said procedure, that a clear and concise statement is presented. Given this vet knew my pet, they skirted around pricing, misquoted me on more than one occasion, and pushed for unnecessary treatments. All the while during a covid pandemic. Completely out of touch with the reality of peoples circumstances and money hungry. I'd like to return the response to the said vet. I did not want to quote numbers however now feel the need. I was quoted $460 for a castration and pro heart (2nd injection). On the day they presented me with a mock invoice of close to $800! After negotiation to remove procedures 'added on' I signed a disclaimer stating my bill would be no more than $650. For a castration and pro heart. Aside from being misquoted on the phone for an additional x ray at my request - the bill was over $1000!

I've been a client of Malvern Vet Hospital for more than 20 years and all of our family's pets (cats & dogs) have always received first class care. All of the staff are friendly, caring and extremely competent and have always taken great care with preventative, wholistic and reactive treatments. We've always been able to see a vet with a sick animal at short notice, like the time Scully ate too much English Mustard and made herself sick, and always able to get great advice over the phone - like the time Bullitt ate half a chocolate cake and we were told what we needed to do in minutes. Quite simply a 5 star Vet practice that I could recommend too highly.

  • Chelle Bannon

I wish I can put into words how incredible the team are here from the reception, to the nurses and vets but I'll never be able to do it justice. My 2 year old golden retriever boy Ralphie has received outstanding care from day dot and the vet team were able to pick up when my boy sadly had high grade lymphoma and peach sized tumour and performed a complex surgery on the spot. Thank you for an eternity to the team of superhumans and angels that work here as with their genuine love and support and expertise my boy's survival time has extended beyond our expectations thus far. Forever in debt to Dr Charlene & the team. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

NEGLIGENT AT OWN RISK! Absolutely disgusting staff, inexperienced vets and a bunch of clowns working there! My dog has been clipped and bled during a nail trim and was told my dog wouldn’t feel anything. They have misdiagnosed and I had to request the only senior male vet for future consults. Reception staff member by the name of Noel had the audacity to tell me she wouldn’t go out of her way for my dog who needed a welfare clip that I believe was imminent to his health by cause of ball matting around collar which is know to interfere with circulation because she found my approach to be condescending. NEGLIGENT!!!!!!

  • Sarah “The Sidge” Jane

Knowledgeable, thouough doctors who have that endearing connection with our animal friends and make even the slightly more worrisome procedures seem like a piece of cake. Wish I could clip the cat's claws with such little fuss but alas I cannot!! Treatment is not exactly inexpensive but I imagine in line with the majority of the profession and in this case you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay for the expertise and peace of mind that comes with the professionalism and quality service we get at Malvern Veterinary Hospital.

  • Isabel Lambrou

Wonderful experience from the team at Malvern Vet. My cat went to Malvern Vet for dental surgery and the process was incredible. It can be very hard for a pet owner to leave their “fur baby” in the care of others, especially when surgery is required - however the team ensured I was kept in the loop both before and immediately after surgery. The kindness, transparency and care that the team showed during the entire process was remarkable and I look forward to any future experiences I have with them!

  • Nikki Nik

The nicest and friendliest veterinary clinic in the area. My cat Henry has been going there for a couple of years now, and has also stayed at the cattery a few times. Like most cats, my boy is spoiled & special but he doesn’t seem to freak out the way he used to at his previous vet. Alex is amazing, she’s very gentle and personable. If Henry needs a check up or needs to go to the cattery when I’m away, I feel 100% confident in taking him there. This will be Henry’s “forever” vet :)

  • Daniel van Rensburg

Puppy vaccination- Called and was quoted $100 for vaccinations. Attended appointment and charged $158. When asked where the variation had come from the receptionist explained that more serum was needed for the vaccination than originally quoted due to his size. Our puppy is 2.9kgs and only just slightly larger than a rat. Don't feel the need to return. *Update, was contacted by clinic with an explanation and partial refund. Good to see they value their customers opinions.

  • Broke Fleur

Pebbles and I have been here several times and the staff has always been excellent. At our most recent visit Dr Charlene was very kindly able to fit Pebbles in for a procedure on a busy day and diligently worked to refer him to overnight CARE to ensure the recovery went well. As a result Pebbles was eventually able to make it home without the condition developing into something even more serious. Pebbles and I are deeply grateful for your hard work.

  • Jessica Quick

I took my 12 week old English Springer Spaniel named Sally to MVH for her final round of puppy vaccinations. The vet was not only friendly, but very helpful and gave me plenty of advice! He was more than happy to answer my questions and helped make Sally at ease, which is important for a young puppy still learning about 'scary' vet experiences. She was so relaxed she lay down on the table. Will use MVH for all of our veterinary needs.

  • Deirdre Murphy

Very well run and highly professional team. My dog has been coming here for 3 years - the vets are all fabulous as are the vet nurses. He can be a bit anxious about visits to the vet but the team here make it an enjoyable experience for both of us. Highly recommend- I can always get an emergency booking when required. Wait times are short in the clinic and aftercare is great. The groomers are brilliant too

  • Victoria Gray

The team at Malvern Vet Hospital have been nothing short of AMAZING! As a new puppy parent, and a bit of a rocky start, they have been so accommodating, caring & always a friendly welcome on arrival. My puppy instantly felt comfortable with her vet & just loves being on her best behaviour as she loves the treats on offer. She is booked in for her first groom there in the upcoming months.

  • Radhika-Ayla Hansen

Called in regards to a bird Id found that was seriously injured and needed help. Receptionist was extremely rude and condescending because the bird id found wasn't a native species. Because they clearly fail to have empathy towards all animals, I won't bring my cats back here ever again. I recommend Caulfield Veterinary Clinic on Dandenong road! They're beautiful and extremely caring.

  • Renata Cristina da Silva

Can not speak highly enough of Andrew, Zoe and the friendly staff at Malvern Vet Hospital. The tenderness and care they provided our little puppy before, during and after a complicated surgery exceeded all of our expectations. Extremely professional staff who genuinely cared for our puppy as if she was one of their own. Highly recommend this vet - we will not go anywhere else!

  • Garry Belford

Thank you Chris Preston and team for taking care of our little 4kg Griffon who needed a hip replacement. Your service was very professional, informative and caring. We felt very confident leaving him in your hands for the night and would highly recommend them. Jaqueline at front reception was very warm and caring and made us feel very confident with the whole procedure.

  • Marshall Segan

An excellent Vet practice in all respects Front desk staff are all Vet nurses full of good common sense advice The Vets are all experienced gentle people who clearly love animals and their often difficult owners On grooming also 100% whereas at another clinic my dog had lacerations after a groom. This has never been the case at Malvern Vet, always totally happy

  • L Ford

All the Vets are friendly and knowledgeable and happy to take the time to explain the problem and recommendation. Our Westie happily jumps out of the car when we visit. I think it’s because she feels the genuine care all the team have for pets. She especially loves the groomers whom do a great Westie Cut. Would recommend for both veterinary and grooming care.

  • Bianca Brandt

I really love taking my pup to Malvern vet hospital - all of the staff are all so lovely, personable and knowledgeable. They really show how much they care, and it comes across in the excellent service. Thank you to the team at Malvern Vet Hospital & Dr Rebecca for caring for our greyhound, and always giving him plenty of treats and hugs when he comes in!

  • Greg Roberts

I been attending Malvern Vet for nearly 30 years. They have an amazing depth on knowledge shared amongst their experienced team of highly skilled vets. They can even run complex tests in house so you can get a diagnosis on the spot. I have friends that are surprised when I tell them because their vets can only do basic tests.

  • Sally Jane Shannon

We have been very happy with the care provided to our British Shorthair from the staff at this practice. There was good communication and discussion about options. I also appreciated the follow up to see how things were going a few weeks after the appointment. We will be back - although hopefully not too soon ;) :D

  • gerry milani

Called and arranged a booking same day. My golden retriever came back looking and smelling like a show dog, complete with the gift of a bandana. Heidi, my groomer did a great job and I received a call advising me that my pooch was ready to collect well before I expected. I couldn’t be happier with the service!

  • Simone Fondacaro

Thank you so much to all the girls and guys at Malvern vet hospital. I brought my puppy in as she was very violently sick overnight and I assumed the worst straight away. When we got her in the whole team attended to her needs and were absolutely fantastic in helping my furbaby and calming me.

  • cyy chen

their admin and front desk team are careless, and not been helpful most of time. I have been to this malvern vet for last 1.5 years. High turnover of staffs and veterinarians. Can’t stand it anymore now. all my friends and I switch to others Vet even we have to travel further from home

  • Brianna Clayton

Dr Ally Cuttler is simply amazing! We adore her, her love for our fur babies and ease. All the staff have adapted and handle the Covid restrictions with such professionalism it's impressive. For anyone needing a new vet I could not recommend this place higher especially Ally. Thank you

  • Peter Lipscombe

My two cats are eternally thankful for the assistance received, on the four occasions I have brought one or both in, the staff have been as professional, yet friendly as you could wish for. Real animal lovers and they care deeply for every pet that comes through. Highly recommend

  • Rebecca Oberin

I have been to many vets over the years, and I am so glad I found Dan and Jane. They are very pragmatic, and are so caring. I feel like I'm in great hands, and have no fear of being 'ripped off' like I have been by previous vets! The surgery itself is lovely with a gorgeous quirk

  • Abbey Kelly

The vets are all so beautiful here, I brought my dog in after he was bitten by another dog, they saw me asap and were so caring. They were so gentle and loving with my dog. I was distraught and the vets were so caring and kind to me. I can’t recommend them enough.

  • Maree Harwood-Cooke
