Nice drinks and decent food but our day at Sunset bar was spoilt and cut short by a very rude bar manager. Upon realising a drink was mistakenly given to our table and was subsequently drunk, the manager approached our table twice in a rude and threatening demeanour. He began blaming us for the drink mistake and attempted to recover the cost of the drink. By this point our table of 6 had ordered a selection of cocktails and food in excess of $300 worth and were awaiting our lunch. Whilst we acknowledged that the drink was mistakenly given to our table, he failed to take any responsibility for the mistake made by the bar tender. When my friend went to collect her drink, she was given two drinks. She actually informed the bar tender that it was not her drink and the bartender responded by telling my friend it was meant for someone on her table and told her to take the drink. The bar manager was aggressive, accusatory, unprofessional and failed to take any ownership for the error that was made by a bar staff member. All in all had he just owned the error and absorbed the cost, we would have stayed and spent hundreds of more dollars, instead we left and took our wallets elsewhere.

We took up a Groupon offer and celebrated a 30th Birthday here! Unfortunately, due to a unexpected family situation we were slightly down on numbers for the offer. However, staff were understanding. They also did their best to accommodate seating for the older members of our party! The Groupon offer was supposed to be equivalent to their $462 (20 people) dollar deal! Non of the platters in any way resembled the photo in the ad. The deal also said we would have staff for 4hrs and we took that to mean we would have someone taking drink orders and keeping our table clear! That wasn’t the case! The food was tasty but average type platters! As something different it was enjoyable. However, considering the vast choices for food venues in Adelaide I would find it difficult to pay the full price of around $460 for this deal. For that price we could do a main course plus drinks dinner, with 20 people at various venues! I am aware that this is a prime location and in summer with a small group it would be nice!

Myself and my friend have gone to the sunset on many occasions to have lunch . On Sunday at 1pm had lunch , our experience with the staff members behind the bar especially the women was very rude , the man was fantastic . She obviously couldn't hear because of my mask. I was ordering food and wanted the dip board and also our mains and requested for the mains to come out 15mins after our dip board that was to hard to do not that they were busy at all. So we had to order the board first and go back when we were ready to order mains . Pathetic that's all I can say obviously the sunset bar can afford to employ someone with a horrible personality I will not be going there anytime soon. It's ashame as it's a lovely location. She needs to wake up and get out that industry as isn't for her at all. By the why she has no right to tell someone about wearing a mask when hers was under her nose. Idiot.

We bought a Cudo deal. For $22 we got 3 dips,Pitta bread and a bottle of the house wine,we further spent another $18 on the fish and chips plus a glass of OJ. When we entered we were told to wait outside. No problems we waited and waited..then went back inside to be told by the same waitress it's "bar service" meaning we order at the bar.. Okay,the dips tasted like supermarket dips,no issue some of those are quite nice,the pitta was not. Dry and tasteless. The fish and chips? 3 pieces of overbattered and dry fish along with "shoestring chips,no better. The salad? Nasty! no dressing at all,in fairness I did not ask where the dressing was and they didn't tell me either if I needed to put on my own. The good part? We were there as a family and it was a beautiful day. Won't be back,just too many other places that put a bit more "love" into what they do.

I wouldn't recommend any stars, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely disgraceful they cancelled my special birthday evening due to covid 19 restrictions. Scoopon voucher clearly not valid due to not making enough money. Even numbers were increased they never upheld there promotion and cancelled. Communication was below average, no compassion complete with arrogance. Anyway I had a great night elsewhere and lots of $$spent that you and the business missed out so bad luck to you. If you want to succeed in business, stick to your promotions no matter what happens in the world, provide good service and people will be back to spend money and keep you all in a job. Not recommended what's so ever. Total thumbs down .

I must say I the look of this place is very pleasing but as soon as I stepped through the door it all changed, wasn't greeted at all and I would just like to point out that I have no problem wearing a mask to order a drink but when the bar tender rudely tells me to put one on when there own staff isn't wearing one i find its a bit hypocritical, mind you every young lady that went up to order a drink apparently didn't have to wear one either, really disappointed with the lack of hospitality and fairness among patrons this place could be a lot better with some better management.

It was a beautiful spot on the harbour. The night we visited there was a country singer who was awesome. The door staff was friendly and welcoming as were most of the bar staff. Unfortunately our experience was ruined by a rude bar man. When ordering a drink he couldn't hear me due to my mask and loud music and was rude then. Then later my husband saw him physically pull a girls mask down from her face aggressively as he clearly had same problem with her. Shame as the drinks menu was amazing and the atmosphere was fab!!

The menu is not as impressive as other restaurants in the same area, but if you are after some fish and chips and burger as we were on the day you will be quite happy. The food was nice and fresh and tasty and the prices much cheaper than other places. You get to sit and enjoy the beautiful view and on the Sunday we were there they had great music playing in the background. The staff are welcoming and friendly which is always a bonus. Definitely looking forward to going back in the near future.

Absolutely beautiful venue. I organised my husband's surprise 50 th here and it could not have been more perfect. Plenty of room for everyone in a privately sectioned part of the venue with both inside and outside areas for choice. The food was lovely and the staff were awesome. Polite, helpful and professional. I can highly recommend the Sunset and will definitely be returning. Thanks guys for helping make our day a wonderfully happy and successful celebration. A.Hulst

Friendly security guard at the door who opens the door and was polite. It was a quiet night but was disappointed that the place shut around 11 on a Saturday night and closed off the area to the more comfy couches and the pool table? (didn't notice if they had one or not from where I was sitting) it's a nice venue and cheap drinks and should be more popular but it's tucked away on the end of the pier so foot traffic is low. There's so much potential for this place.

Quiet disappointed. Made a booking online for 4 with no conformation for a month, only evidence being an email showing I attempted to make the booking. Called several times the day prior and day of booking to confirm but the phone wasn’t picked up. We arrived to the venue to find nothing was reserved for us. Absolute waste of time! No apology for the inconvenience either, I don’t know why it’s that hard to confirm you had no places available or whatever

We had our staff Xmas party here yesterday and it was great! We had originally planned for barefoot bowls, but as it was raining on the day, we changed it to a Sunday session in the Sunset Bar instead. Everyone had an awesome time, the food was great and they did up a great food/drinks package for us with wrist bands for everyone etc.! Very impressed with the staff and the organisation, especially since we booked it all last minute on the day!

Where do I start. The service was average. The bar staff advised the pool table was out of service after I asked twice about exchanging coins and trying to use the pool table. The food was very average. Edible, but for $20 I'd expect a pizza with flavour, rather than the defrosted and microwaved pizza we received. Very disappointed from a place that I thought had a decent standard. The sun has set on my experience here.

Fish and chips was ok. But currently sitting here in the beautiful outdoor area on the pier, then having someone smoke behind us while we have food. Disappointing and not ideal given the health risks. We were there before the smokers. If we knew people could smoke during meals we would have sat somewhere else. Hope the Gov deal with loop holes in the law regarding dining areas soon.

Nice place with a good view to the beach and Marina. However, cocktails didn't include the fruits as shown in the menu, thinking that it wouldn't be noticed. The explanation was that they ran out of supplies for cocktails (charging full price though). Had to ask again for replacement options which the answer was finally other available fruits

Went here for lunch as we'd just driven all day! Was a great place to come and have a quick lunch. Staff were great, served us straight away. And our food came out within 15 minutes. Drinks and food were at great prices, wish I tried a cocktail or 2! The place also looks quite modern, would be great for a night of drinking and dancing I think.

If they had 0 stars i give them that!!!! We have been waiting for our food for more than 1hour and is no sign of the food. Kids are hungry, they started crying and they said that they still havent put they order through. Very disappointed, would never recommended to anyone. Went there for a drinks with friends despite the fact that I ordered margaritas that were not full ( the were looking like someone already has slip or two ) there were many drunk people hanging around the bar without masks and without social distance. Security didn’t do much about it. It was our last time there

Extremely long wait for food when we were the only couple in there for lunch. And unfortunately the food was disappointing too. Burger was ok, nothing special, and the meatlovers pizza was basically a cheese and sauce pizza with a light sprinkle of meat. To make it worse, half of the pizza dough was still raw.

What a shambles. I booked for a 50th birthday in November only to be told 1 week out there is no booking and the place is booked out with other functions. Despite me calling in Dec to confirm with Will the function manager. Now i am left with nothing and a scramble to find somewhere else. Thanks for nothing.

No gluten free options on offer, no effort made to provide anything, no apology. Poor customer service. Not impressed. Food that was on offer - that i didn't eat because i couldn't - party pies and sausage rolls, and deep fried spring rolls, dim sims, pakoras, chips, wedges etc all high in fat. No variety.

Nice view but terrible food. Was was dry and cheap tasting. Guacamole that came with sweet potato chips tasted like cheap stuff from the supermarket. Pizzas were disgusting, tasted like frozen pizzas. And all good was fairly expensive too. Would not recommend for food. Only for drinks.

Word of warning. If you leave your drink on the table where coats and bags and even others in your party are sitting, to get up and dance or whatever, you may come back to find your drink removed. Apparently the staff consider this an “abandoned “ drink. No apology forthcoming.

Absolutely terrible bar. The chips were cold, the drinks were incredibly weak. We ordered the fish bowls and got 0 alcohol and 100% soft drink. The food took forever to arrive. There was zero ambiance and no atmosphere. Absolutely horrible and would not recommend going here.

My absolute favourite place to have a drink! Whether you’re facing the beach or the marina, the view is spectacular. There is a vast selection of drinks and food servings are generous. The music is always spot on. The staff are all super friendly, especially Dylan and Loz!

Visited on a Tuesday morning, so it was empty, but we only came to have a few games of pool. Nice bar with plenty of drinks choices Good view of the marina on one side and the beach on the other. Only downside was that they didn't serve hot drinks and we fancied a coffee.

I think they forgot the key ingredient in our cocktails (alcohol) we all arrived with our pre drink buzz had 2 fish bowl cocktails each which had no affect on any of our group. Over priced fruit juice!!! Do your friends and yourself a favour and go to the Pier instead.

Lovely late Sunday afternoon spent here with my partner. Shared a bottle of wine while looking out at the sea views. Also shared a trio of dips which were all good. Live music added to the comfortable atmosphere. Great location, staff were friendly and efficient.

Value for money re. food portions was really disappointing (Got small portion of fried fish and chips for $20 - only fried is available). Probably paying for the beautiful view/location more than the food. Apart from that, great customer service and pub vibes!

Wonderful place! Súper relaxing and enjoyable. Ideal for couples, families and groups of friends. Loved the food and the musician who was singing and playing the guitar made our night unforgettable. The prices are very affordable. We will come back soon!

Awesome place with a great drink selection and delicious food. Had the fries with garlic aioli and potato wedges, both were amazing. The views from the patio give you full views of the beach and water. I bet it would make for a great sunset dinner spot!

Kudos to the management for actually keeping the doors open. I think there's been 5 different bar reincarnations offering the same so-so beer range and pub fair food in the last 15 years. Anyway, good location, ok food, bogan factor a pleasant 5/10.

After a nice walk around Glenelg, I stopped for a drink in the Marina Sunset Bar. It’s located at the end of Marina Pier, so the view is a show by itself. They offer many cocktail based on Barossa Distilled gin at very reasonable prices

Cosy and open at the same time with the best cocktails made with care. Feel taken care of by staff and security if things get messy with drunk patrons. Great view of the beach as well even though we went after 7pm. We would return again.

Nice place, nice atmosphere until the "chavs" turn up with there own "music" entertainment and not caring about anybody else only thinking of themselves. Other than that nice place..... Wouldn't go again, oh and don't have the Pizza .

Need to find a way bring people in I found if it wasn't what I was looking for I wouldn't know it's their but good views of the coast , but not much of a breeze where your boats are moored ladies make sure you're makeup won't run

This place failed the ordinary test. Cocktail was nice, food was very basic and even then not done well. Table was dirty - cleaned it ourselves. No cutlery provided. Fish was a frozen birds eye. Never wasting my money again.

This place use to make great cocktails but unfortunately I went there recently and it's all made with syrups now and don't taste good, they still charge alot though... definitely not worth going to, I won't be going again.

Met my wife here last year, so of course I rate it! Staff are top class although not sure this place do background checks on them but don't let that get in the way of the vibe down here. 100% better than dog and duck.

Absolutely exquisite and awesome time with High Tea on the Temptation catamaran . Great weather and service from ALL the crew. Captain's hat had to be retrieved from the sea and we saw a pod of dolphins. Good value!!

For a private function, out of this world. While you don't have a room, you do have a roped off section of the bar, and a pool table and great share plates to boot. Long happy hours are a huge plus too

We had just the best time on Friday evening. The sunset was bliss, the service was so friendly and helpful and the value was excellent. Could not have wished for a better evening.
