I have enjoyed physiotherapy for a long time, and this is the first clinic in Canada that refused to fill out a document to help me with government health services. They said they, "don't have the 'resources.'" Well, they've had the resources to take a lot of money from me over several months. And I did offer to pay to fill the form. My physiotherapist was pretty good, not amazing. She was a little weak. She tried to sell me acupuncture on EACH visit, despite my firmly telling her I am not interested, the first time. Even before they refused to help me with my health form, I'd decided not to return. The Markham Professional building has become a slum. It's very sad that even the area around the U of M is now full of people who are not getting help for severe mental illnesses and addiction. Nearly every time I visited, I had to dodge aggressive, dirty people in the lobby and outside the doors. Two of them followed me to the physio office, ranting out of their heads. But they refuse to provide security. No one offered to escort me after being chased. It feels very grungy and unsafe.
My husband and I both needed to go for physiotherapy (I hurt my back either during pregnancy or postpartum). We were able to book back to back appointments with the same physiotherapist, and not only did she provide professional care, she was also incredibly kind and disarming (I was a bit scared I was going to be leaving in more pain than I arrived but luckily that wasn't the case). They only do direct billing for blue cross though, which is a bit of a shame. Still, I'd highly recommend them
Great physio and massage, both areas at Markham seem to know a lot about bones and tissue. And they enjoy sharing their knowledge and educating their patients. I’ve learned a lot from going to both physio and massage there. I have been to many different massage therapists; in my experiences from all of them, the ones who know their stuff and are passionate about what they do, are not always the most relaxing but they have often made more improvements and helped aid in my physio and recovery.
I am really surprised about the reviews on here. I've seen Lindsay a few times, and she's great! Very knowledgeable, always on time, and friendly. I think some people seem to be a bit confused. This isn't a place to go for a relaxing massage. It is for therapeutic massage, which does hurt. It is supposed to. It is for healing not pleasure.
I very much disagree with any of the bad reviews on here. Everyone was very courteous and accommodating. I went to Krista for a massage and it was fantastic. Worked out some knots that have been bothering me for a while, she can definitely put enough pressure on to get the job done. I highly recommend going here.
I have been with Sheila Williams for 16 years for various muscle related issues. I have been 100% happy with the treatments especially the acupuncture. The last was for an inflamed Achilles's tendon and I saw 1 of her peers. Again, it cleared right up. I would not consider going anywhere else.
I went for blood test and the Service is very good despite the waiting time of 40mins for my and my wife. It is better to arrive as early as possible. Overall, Markham building has different services and the experience varies from one to another. So far, very grateful and pleased.
I have been to several places for massage before but this one is the worst experience. I paid to suffer not to relax. I recommend to go any other massage therapist. Do not try.
I have seen several different physiotherapists at this location over the last 25 years and they've always been very knowledgeable, friendly and able to help.
They didn't have what I needed but the staff was very helpful and suggested other options and products. I found that extremely helpful. Thank you HD staff.
I have had really great treatments for carpal tunnel and TMJ at this clinic. The acupuncture always works and gives me so much relief from my chronic pain.
This is my go-to place whenever I'm hurt. I have Seen Sheila for about ten years. Her and her staff have ALWAYS helped in my healing process.
Kim is excellent in her field of expertise and cares about her work and her patients and extremely knowledgable. Highly reccomend her.
Kim Okano is a very experienced therapist. She found the exact reason for my issue, where many other therapist failed.
