Was chased out of the store by a secret shopper who looked homeless and demanded to look inside my bag. His reason was because I didnt buy anything and left out the other exit closest to the liquor. The reason for not buying anything was because I wanted something to eat on my break but everything in this store is expensive and horrible quality. The store is trashy and has bad produce, deli items and even the generic brands cost more than other stores. If you're wondering why so many people steal then take into consideration that you're the only grocery store in that area and you're horribly overpriced for low quality groceries. I'm lucky I'm not low income and can drive to a better grocery store 15 minutes away. Every time I come here I'm harassed by someone outside or a worker inside. Do better. If people are stealing then look within. I've never been chased out of a store because I didn't buy anything before.
It’s convenient if you live around Westport area and you only need to buy a few small items preferably during daytime. If you plan to buy a few days worth of food I won’t recommend it. There are other better grocery stores which is maybe a couple of miles away. Fresh produce is alright but I won’t recommend buying meat and seafood there. Not sure how long have their frozen seafood been there. The “fresh seafood” doesn’t look or smell like fresh at all. The area smells like very fishy even if you go there early morning when they were just fixing everything in the iced display window to start the day. The front of the store is very sketchy because there are people smoking close to the entrance most of the time. More scary when I went there one night because there was no security guard outside. Cashiers are very unfriendly except for Mickey. Customer service is extremely poor.
They are definitely artificially inflating the vegan replacement food. If it was unintentionally vegan it would maybe be priced fairly but if it says it on the package you're gonna get upcharged. Dairy Oui yogurt was around 1.79, coconut milk Oui was about 2.49, everywhere else charges equally. I avoided buying multiple items I really wanted to get because I just couldn't afford multiple $3-$5 upcharges on stuff I want and don't need. Maybe this is intentional? Do they wanna stop selling this stuff or something? I'm not gonna start eating dairy and meat again I'll just do without and buy nothing besides beans or whatever. Cmon now yall lol Oh also pls move the signs in the freezer section. I don't wanna walk all the way down an aisle to learn it's not actually where the potatoes are
I’d just use self checkout if I were you. It’s not just about the sushi (pictured), but that was the final straw. When we first approached checkout, a cashier in an open lane passively said “Next lane is open” just so he didn’t have to check us out. When we got to the next lane, the bagger carelessly threw our items, which resulted in our meal being put in the bag upside down and smashed. The bagger seemed totally unapologetic and unaware when we asked if the sushi was placed right side up and continued bagging items without care. The overall experience was fine until cashiers and baggers refused to be cashiers and baggers.
No accountability from management once a customer reports an issue. It's just very unfortunate in today's climate with so many things being automated & the customer service associates being fazed out, yet they're not chalant attitudes are still very alive and well. The customer is not always right as a Gloria- manager alluded too, but once an obvious error amongst your staff is identified can you at least acknowledge it? But looking back the staff didn't either& after escalating my issue to Gloria I this comes from the top down. Store price gouges, subpar quality & employee low efforts
The security guard was extremely disrespectful with how he spoke and treated me like I did something wrong. I was worried about someone stealing my electric scooter and after he rudely said “take that outside, and I can’t keep an eye on it because I have a job too.” Extremely unprofessional and unprofessional behavior from him. The store is nice and clean but the staff are not very kind or friendly from my experience. The store is a convenient distance for me to go too so I hope it was just the first impression given and that it was not representative about the store as a whole.
I really love this store! So convenient to go shopping when I get off work at 4am and no traffic, hardly any customers. I get in and out everytime! UPDATE: Went there early this morning when I got off work at 4am. Coming out with a grocery cart full, I see some shading characters outside. As I'm walking to my car, one of the Sun Fresh employees was going back into the store. He seen me and turned around and came back and help me put my groceries in the car! I love this store and thank for having such helpful employees. 5 Stars
It's okay. They don't have much competition, so they don't really go above and beyond. They barely go at all. I actually like the Sun Fresh Market off of Linwood better, but they don't always have the ingredients I want/need. As for Marsh's, it feels super repressive in there. Makes me wonder what kind of slog the workers are put through. I know they don't love their job, but they do do it. So there is that. Sun Fresh Market needs some serious competition because they are just...complacent.
Groceries at Marsh's Sun Fresh are overpriced to put it mildly. The store is taking obvious advantage of the limited supermarket access in this area while offering only sub-average quality meat and produce. The seafood dept always smells like a fish boat ran aground and they have gray-colored steaks at full price. I would expect much higher quality groceries at this location considering they're almost double the price on many items compared to Aldi, Walmart, Hyvee, etc.
I know too much about this store ... Notice I'm only giving it a one star I wish I could give less than that , health department is always in there for one reason or another , if there own workers tell you not to shop there then take that as a caution heed the warning , if their own workers don't purchase meat that they sell to the masses , then that should let you know that's a problem , and on top of that the fish will make you sick........
We are from out of state here our baby is in children's mercy, we have no vehicle but came to shop for food and was told we'd have to leave our bags outside next to the trash can or shop elsewhere by the security. This is exactly what Kansas City does not need to show visitors on this they'll be treated. So rude and sick disgusting hospitality shame on you sunfresh you just made dollar tree look better
The deli employees are super rude and ghetto I personally would NOT have them on my payroll. The Deli sandwiches and the sushi bar ALWAYS have limited to no selection. Can’t even pay the extra $1.00 to have a sandwich made. What kind of business let’s money leave?! I am done going to this location I will go to the price chopper on the power & Light from now on.
As somebody who works nights and can’t shop during the day; this location is a lifesaver. There’s no grocery stores open 24 hours anymore, and I have to go out of my way for this one. But without it I would be in a world of pain. Thank you so much for thinking about overnight workers, seems like everybody else has given us the middle finger.
It's all kinds of goodies in there even a liquor store now that's the snit there never seen it before in my life or good food and nick-nacks i will be back one day omg i love this store very different the employee some had a smile some was had face like what u doing here but oh well i still love the store and it was clean and neat …
First time at this grocery. Loved it. It was clean, well organized & well stocked. Staff was friendly & helpful. It is large enough that we found what we needed but small enough to not overwhelm. They carry Best Choice store brand, which I highly recommend. Parking was easy and convenient.
My favorite market to buy groceries at. They always have what I’m looking for, and I really enjoy not having to wait in line. Even when it’s their busiest time of the day, they have enough employees to keep lines down to one person. Very impressed with their friendliness and cleanliness!
One time the self checkout attendant started lowkey dunking on me by showing me memes on their phone and saying “this is you, and THIS is me” which was fine I guess. Kind of pricey overall and the produce is frequently absolutely ravaged. But like it could be worse
Beautiful store, prices are a bit high but then again, this is all quality products. The bakery and deli are phenomenal and I also like the wide variety of fresh ground And bean coffees. Open 24-7 too which has been a life saver more than I can adequately explain!
Great supermarket and grocer with a large variety of goods - the meals from the deli area are very good and affordable. There are always homeless people grouped at the entrances asking for money and that gets old but a great place to shop overall.
Always friendly personal especially in the meat department they'll let you know if there's a better option or cut. The only problem I have is when the people who pack my bags to heavy like why try to put it all in one bag, andor they'll put
The best thing about this Sun Fresh is that it's open 24 hours! Was there at 1am and the store was clean and organized well even with all the night stocking going on. Quality items with a huge variety and equally huge prices. Even the
Clean. Open 24hrs. Large assortment of products. Friendly staff. Bakery is lacking imagination variety and skill. Didn't carry multiple items/brands I typically purchase. The #1 reason I would not use this store for regular
I literally love this store!! Have so much more different stuff and also you can literally shop for other stuff in here and get good deals! Our favorite is the bakery sub bread for my other halfs lunch omg we love them!!
They have a great selection of all types of foods. I like that they sell locally-made items. The fact they're open 24/7 is a huge plus. The store is really clean and they have security onsite. HUGE selection of alcohol.
Great store. Only negative I saw was the entrance trash overflowing. Maintenance worker walked right past it. The deli has the best rotisserie chicken I have had in awhile. Strong recommendation for this store.
This is a good grocery store. But their produce is often bruised in the case of apples and goes bad faster than it should in the case of vegetables. Overall great selection and friendly people.
Very clean an courteous atmosphere.Everything is always stocked an in its place.I just love my shopping experience every time I go.An I tell my family an friends as well go there its great.
as always the store was clean and well stocked. not as a surprise, the to go sushi is amazing. the self checkout clerk wasn't the friendliest, but overall I had a very pleasant experience.
As busy as it was the employees were still there making sure I found everything that I needed the aisles were clear the parking lot was clear security was there, everything was fine
I am from Denver and stopped in to the Sun Fresh Market. It was at night so there was no sun, but I had the friendliest checkout clerk who was happy to be there it seems.
Sunfresh is always open and has what I need for basic necessities. The westport tax increases the prices a bit, though for not having to drive far it works out.
It's a little ghetto for the customers but working here is coow very laid back and quiet there's favorites but just keep to yourself and you'll be fine ☺️
Grabbed sushi and some quick dinner options. They had everything I was looking for and the sushi was delicious. Always great for a good quick meal
Dumb as heck trying to get the telephone number for the house and authority and you can't Google it. Cause it always pulling up something else
Yes, they have a USPS mailbox just to the right of the entrance. Prices: competitive pricing that lands between Price Chopper and Hen House.
Love this store! Very nice staff, diverse demographic, awesome deals, self checkout lanes and open 24 hours!!!!!
The store is very clean things were easy to be found, and the customer service was by far the best.
Great store, excellent produce, seafood, sandwiches. Good customer service. Nice people.
Nice midtown store. Great selection of products. Always clean. Staff very friendly.
Could be a lot better Walmart quality produce at whole foods prices
