"Near where the 175 and 45 merge, just SE of Deep Ellum"
"Some of my favorite librarians in the DFW area are Jaimie, Eugene and Yari!! Since I have been a guest teacher in Dallas ISD Eugene, Yari and Jaimie have helped me pivot the reading abilities of my students by providing with resources that are readily accessible outside of the library as well!! The MLK library branch is the perfect example of using a space to foster meaningful relationships with the community"
"Librarians were very helpful I gave a 5 star rating for the hospitality, now based off books I wanted they didn't have if they weren't so nice I'd rate a 3 probably"
"I Like this Library Because You really get the feeling that they care"
"Paint without a brush is an awesome social experience"
Near where the 175 and 45 merge, just SE of Deep Ellum. The library is in a small municipal complex, all buildings located at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.: An admin building (A); a health center (B); the library (C); childcare (D); and a rec center (D). It's smaller and easier to figure out directions than it sounds. Shade trees cool things down around the library and there are a few benches available for readings. Looks like there might be some nice flowers planted but at the time of my visit in early spring most of the beds were just turned soil. There is a small but adequate parking lot on the side and the library is served by the 011, 026 and 409 bus lines. Inside is a bit underwhelming compared to the vaulted ceilings and light-filled lobbies of other Dallas public libraries. The amount of fiction, nonfiction and young adult books is small, as is the children's area. The library does have a section of "Afro-American Biographies." Surprisingly (to me) there are a disproportionately large number of PCs available for use. The library has a mural of MLK and a small collection of Afro-American artwork I liked. Overall I expected more than the library delivered.
Some of my favorite librarians in the DFW area are Jaimie, Eugene and Yari!! Since I have been a guest teacher in Dallas ISD Eugene, Yari and Jaimie have helped me pivot the reading abilities of my students by providing with resources that are readily accessible outside of the library as well!! The MLK library branch is the perfect example of using a space to foster meaningful relationships with the community. Most importantly, they all have a heart for people. MLK branch truly lives up to the dreams Dr. King had for all communities!!
Librarians were very helpful I gave a 5 star rating for the hospitality, now based off books I wanted they didn't have if they weren't so nice I'd rate a 3 probably. But great if you need the computer to search for jobs or use as leisure as you want maybe to get on YouTube or look up something on the Google search engine. But all and all I had a great experience definitely stop by if your in the neighborhood .......
I Like this Library Because You really get the feeling that they care. I love how they have programs to help empower you to start a profitable business by providing the tools and resources necessary for ones prosperity growth. I am grateful for this library and I and look forward to being an avid participant of their future programs. The Lord is Good!
Paint without a brush is an awesome social experience. This class is becoming an inspiring, fresh addition to the culture. This library is one of the hidden gems and most needed heartbeat of this community. We thank Justav for being one of the inspiring newest addition of innovators and instructors there. M.L.K. CENTER A MUST TO EXPERIENCE IN DALLAS.
This was the library experience. There was activities for the kids. Help for the seniors. There is a scene of I genuinely care. Kamishia Frye was the employee I was able to connect with and she was amazing and very knowledgeable. I been
Branch is run down, grimy, and sketchy. Staff are not interested in assisting or have a rude attitude and the others inside are homeless or rowdy. Do not park here, or in this area at all, and don't bring your children here!
Great customer service from the front desk staff. Speed of service, suggesting/offering of available options and providing technical communication between branch locations was/is outstanding. (6 months ago)
This is a neat old Dallas Library. They are so nice and helpful. The selection is kinda (small). But you can always pipe stuff in from another location. The guys that work here are hilarious. I love it!
I had a life changing situation take place, this library staff helped me in every way they could, and went beyond that. It saved my life, and if it was anyway i could repay each member..i would.
This Library is getting renovated. Its on sharp, clean, organized and the staff in general is very helpful and nice. I enjoy my time there. Come and see by yourself!!!!!
I went to the library to print papers and couldn't use the bathroom cuz someone was in there smoking you know what the other bathroom was filthy, not a good look
The Martin Luther center is a very nice place to visit they have lots of activities for Seniors to get out and enjoy yourself.
