All places of worship are great. But the people who run it and manage it give it an extra attraction. This is one of those places. If you come here for Friday prayer you will feel that the speach (khutba) is for you. You feel connected. Nice and clean masjid and friendly people. One of few masjid that help people in need of food and goods. I will miss this masjid when I go back.

Great experience and fantastic people, friendly, welcoming and very cordial. Masjid is very well kept, even though it has been established in this location for nearly 70 years and refurbished and remodeled on an aged foundation. This Community was established by Muslim African Americans in 1949, as the oldest, recognized Muslim Community in California.

Excellent and well maintained Masjid eventhough its almost 70 years old. Easy to reach. Very helpful security. Assisted me in the correct parking . Khotba was very informative and up to the point. There was much information I didn't know before about African Muslims' history in the States. After salat, the community is very peaceful and friendly.

You can pray Jummah in this mosque. They have a wudu place but I have not seen any restrooms. Overall they are very nice. The parking lot is limited so be early and park correctly. There are place for women to pray but they can see the men and the men can see them. So it is not a private room.

Beautiful mosque with wonderful brothers and sisters. I was there during the last few weeks of ramadan and enjoyed breaking the fast there. Everyone is very friendly and i felt like home there. If you want to experience what is like to be with nice practicing muslims, it's the place to be!

Small but beautiful masjid in downtown San Diego. This is definitely the oldest mosque in San Diego county and one of the oldest in California, perhaps the oldest in southern California. Imaam there is very humble and the community very welcoming. They do have a small parking lot.

This is not the oldest Masjid on the West coast, the oldest Masjid is located in Sacramento California. This Masjid officially opened Under Islamic Practices in 1976 contrary to what imam aqil Said. It's long overdue for a transition to New leadership!!!!!

Peaceful place. So quiet and serene. You can pray five daily prayers there. They also have a prayer area for women. They welcome non Muslims to learn about Islam. The mosque was founded in 1949 and has so much better offer.

Stopped here on a quick trip to San Diego, convenient location to highway, clean interior. My wife also prayed in the ladies section. The parking lot is a good bonus so no need to worry about street parking.

This is the first Masjid in san diego. Also it setup as the Masjids of the days of the prophet Mohammed where the women are not segregated to another floor of the Masjid. They are in the back of the Masjid.

Very friendly and local mosque just a few min away from downtown San Diego. Went for jummah, informative lecture and food was served after in restaurant behind.

Very beautiful and small mosque a lot of good people they greet you really nice and they have a parking but come early in friday to find a place for your car.

Not traditional masjid lots of free mixing quite uncomfortabel honestly trying to pray but not foocus hearing women laughing hysterically.

This is the oldest Mosque in San Diego and it feels serene inside. Always enjoy praying there and seeing pure hearted people.

Visiting this masjid during break from UC, you can walk from SDCC to Park boulevard behind Petco Park and take bus no 4.
