It's ok I was kinda disappointed that from my previous visit many years ago it's now not as good there seems to be nowhere near the amount of items available in quantity and range of almost feels like it's been gave up on . The lift has a fault the door takes ages to open and close on the 1st floor though it looks like it's being attempted to be fixed as instruction manual was open on top the lift so I expect that will be fixed soon. I did like that although there is a few self service checkouts which I hate I do appreciate when I hear the member of staff saying to people they can use self service or be served by her what ever they feel more comfortable doing wich is nice having the choice and not pushed in to using self service and also being given the option to pay cash or card. I feel I would have gave a extra star if there were more items like how it used to be im not sure if it's like a end of season change over or something being the reason for it but review is based on thoughts at the time. It was still nice to go anyway and have a look around as needed towels anyway.

Shopping inside the shop with my wife and 2 years old daughter and like we all know,when you have small kids you need a toilet! Can't believe it in a big shop like this there's no toilet!They have too many changing rooms that are not even in use all of them,but no toilets...I have asked a member of staff where is the toilet,she suggested me to go to Subway and use their toilet...now, maybe I am too demanding,but where are the staff doing when they have to use a toilet?They have bottles and bags?Can I have a bad and a bottle or we need to bring one from home and use it in the changing room? That's not a good managing of a shop,I thought the goal is to keep people inside the shop as much as possible not to get rid of them as fast as possible because no toilet...by the way..we are living in 2024 or stone age?

Bad experience today dropping off a DPD parcel just before 12pm. The person on the till claimed that my parcel was too big - despite the fact that I'd entered the measurements and weight, paid online, and chose Matalan as the drop-off. She thought the DPD tape measure had to go all the way around the box but wasn't sure. Her colleague thought it only needed to go round two sides. She was advised to "go with what you know" by her colleague, so she turned us away and told us to go somewhere else. No attempt at helping us, and no attempt to clarify the situation with DPD. When I got home, I contacted DPD and they apologised and said the store should have accepted it. I know Matalan is a clothes store primarily but if they also make money from parcels they should provide better service than this.

The staff were above and beyond if I could give it six stars i would #11/10 Found me everything I needed which i was struggling to find with all these bloody kids with me found all the products i needed and more perfect bargains in time for christmas ❤️ till staff were lovely cant remember her name but a young lady served me and she was so polite and sweet all staff deserve a pay rise especially with this cost of living crisis it’s been tough for everyone and matalan staff deserve it i will definetely be returning ! (probably leave the kids at home next time #lol so i can have a browse at more of the woman clothes as so many items caught my eye)

Parking is readily available here. Through the doors to the left and you come to the ladies section. Theres a lot more colour to their clothes these days. Plenty of styles. Plenty of each garments. There's a reasonable toy section. Upstairs is the mens clothing floor. Again a good selection of what is needed. Further round the floor is a homeware section which is worth a look. A big plus is that you pay downstairs and there are always plenty of cashiers waiting to serve you with a smile. So a good size store with plenty of reasonable quality goods and a pleasant visit. Some of the above sections have been moved.

I ordered my items in November. Website still says my order is due on 14th December and it is now the 19th. I also got an email to review my order, which I never got! So it’s showing as delivered in their systems. I contacted customer service to no avail, and then I tried to post a review about my inexistent order on their website. They just told me my review cannot be posted as it doesn’t meet guidelines. I am appalled, never again .... Still waiting for my order of over £50 nearly a month later with no intention for providing me with at least some updates...

Visited Matalan in brislington the other day and was more than pleased with my service, i asked a lovely lady if she could show me where the Christmas section as I had to pick up some more bits and bobs for Christmas and a few prezzies for the grandchildren, she was so polite and showed me to everything I needed, then I overheard someone talking that the employees only get paid £4.81 if their under 18. This made me sick to my stomach, that’s just about a meal deal from tesco nowadays, people need to be paid more in this cost of living crisis it’s disgusting!

Got told to leave after shopping with my quiet well trained registered assistance dog who was wearing a vest which clearly showed what she was. I was surrounded by a woman with a walkie talkie, another woman and a man. Was very rude when I pointed out that they were in contravention of the equality act and showed them the book I carried with me with my dogs information in. Haven't been back since. Wouldn't waste my time with them. We went in TK Maxx and got treated like royalty, so I know where my money is better spent.

I’m a big fan of Matalan and have used them for my every day white shirts and black shirts for the office, for jeans, for t-shirts for holiday, and for socks. I’ve also had two sets of crockery from here and a couple of pairs of suede shoes. Matalan does good quality goods and clothes for very reasonable prices. Totally recommended. Friendly and helpful staff at the tills. One of the delights of Matalan is that sometimes, with your Matalan card, you find that prices at the tills are even cheaper than on the tickets.

Needs a customer service/returns counter. Waited in queue half an hour to return one item. During that time, I had fun watching 3 employees spend their time aimlessly walking in circles waiting for a chance at cleaning the self service machines that no one wanted. Edit: Update two months later. The above is still happening. The wandering employees trying to persuaded customers to leave the main line for the self service counters. They ended up assisting the customers and doing all the work for them anyways hahaha!

I was shopping here a few weeks ago with my daughter when she suddenly needed the toilet. I had to dump my shopping because Matalan has closed their toilets. Anything to save a penny. I didn’t return to continue or pay for the shopping as I was then angry at having to try 5 different stores to find an available toilet. Disabled people and children need toilets! She is both. I will continue to do most of my shopping on Amazon with less guilt every time something like this happens.

Great shopping at Matalan. Prices are very reasonable and well displayed. Great choice for men,women and children. Some great deals in the sale but you should look online first as not a lot of sale goods on show at the shop. Buy online and click and collect in store for free.

Matalan has started to go frumpy and not stock fashionable items, the kids clothes are limited so we tend to shop here anymore. The toilet in this shop is on the top to the right in the corner. It's not the cleanest..... The rest of the shop is OK for granny clothes

Was not happy with clothes being on the sale rack but they were not in the sale. After trying clothes on the children then getting to the till to find out the clothes were in the wrong place. No way was I going back to find more stuff I think they do it deliberately

The last couple of visits have been very disappointing. The shelves have been empty and stock has been very low, i haven't seen the store in such an untidy and unorganised state ever!! I look forward to seeing the shelves with new stock for the winter

Sorry but I think Matalan choice of clothes of larger size woman has a lot to be desired. I have never been so disappointed. The choice of design and colour has never been so drab . Wake up Matalan we fuller ladies love great design and colour.

Awful. Staff need training on customer service. Family of 4 no masks at til no one stopped them. Rude obnoxious woman on the till had mask on her chin ?! No screens. Felt safer in a cage full of tigers. Dont come here if you want COVID

Decent clothes at a reasonable price. Feels exclusive as doesn't seem to be a lot of footfall at certain times. Only thing that bugs me is the store can be a little stuffy and staff are generally quite apathetic when serving.

Brilliant place to shop.. Clothes for all ages. With homewear and now toys added to the mix it's a great way to pick up a bargain. Reasonably priced and great value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Need to train their younger staff cashiers on legal tender . In particular Scottish £20 notes. Very bad practice. Not very welcoming and causing unnecessary embarrassment . Very bad customer service indeed!

The woman told me off for having a Home Bargains trolley, much to her dismay, it was. She tried to take it off me and put it back, clearly trying to steal my £1 coin. I made a swift exit. I kept my £1 coin

This place has loads of choice for everything from socks to three piece suits, really reasonable prices everything you need for your wardrobe under one roof, loads of parking and lots of other shops nearby

Bought the black knee high socks with bamboo. Wore them once and on taking them off my big toe was through the end of the sock and will now have to bin. Very expensive one wear socks! Not happy!

Products pretty good value generally for the price. However, website is currently terrible if trying to purchase online or click and collect. After 20 minutes and several attempts, gave up....

Your lift has desperate problems. Leaving the manual on the roof does not equate with a decent service, nor does a notice telling one it has problems equate with taking safety seriously.

If you were looking for homeware then you'd be dissapointex. The shelves were empty as they were beginning to get ready for Xmas! Lots in the sales and a good range of autumn clothing.

Great value for money in here, instead of spending time online, go to Matalan you'll bound to find something for a holiday trip or everyday wear. Nice big store, lots of choice.

Absolute awful customer service twice now spoken to rudely! And pricing up items in sale that don't start until the next day they clearly don't know the law of retail!

Not too bad, prices are reasonable (Similar to Sainsbury's TU) choice is good but popular sizes not always in. You can order online and collect though I think.

A shame they have closed all changing rooms permanently. You have to buy more than 1 of others to ensure fit, then bring unsuitable items back for refunds.

Love this store. Great value and quality clothing for all the family 0 - 99! There is also great homewares dept as well as suit cases. Always worth a visit

The prices are also lower than most stores I've been too. The staff here is great. They know what they're doing and they will help you find what you want.

When you've been to one Matalan you know what to expect when you go to another. BUT, this branch has loads of parking and friendly staff!

Lots to choose from but larger sizes are not catered for, seems to stop at size 18 although I have seen the occasional larger size.

Lots of choice for clothes and homeware, ample parking and it's free, can get busy travelling there, especially on the bath road

Needed a cheap warm jacket to wear for working in the garage and yard work. Got an excellent zipper jacket in the January sale.
