On 05/09/2020 They saved my brothers life. He was in a motorcycle accident. My brother George crashed his bike. The next day the surgeon rang me to tell me what injuries he had sustained and the work the team had to do to save his life. I don't even remember the lady's name (I apologise for that). Only a little while after I got off the phone did I realize what effort and experienced work was done. I'm writing this in the hope that ALL the people who work in the Mater Hospital realize how much they are appreciated. Because I guess that most relatives of the people they save and help are too much tied up in their own grief to take the time to let the staff know how much we appreciate what they have done for us and our loved ones. Thank you all so much.
Was here last night after being brought there via ambulance for severe pain in my jaw and face and was left in really bad pain for a long time. And to be told because the ambulance people gave me paracetamol (might aswell have been given sweets for the pain!) that they couldn't give me anything stronger. The ambulance people and nurses in a and e obviously have a system of filling patients in severe pain, including a man that was in a car crash with paracetamol to leave them struggle in bad pain to drag out the already long wait times. I ended up leaving a and e after spending last night there and having to walk home in worse pain than I went in. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEATH TRAP AS THEY WILL DO NOTHING BUT WASTE YOUR TIME.
I have been treated in this hospital with the respect of less than an animal. Absolutely appalling cardiology consultants who do not care about young people having issues - not being treated seriously because one is not constantly screaming for attention is a seriously flawed system. No one will give me back the three days in a place without light or fresh air and the uncertainty of what is going to happen to just be sent home without any treatment because you’re simply not important enough as a person being insured publicly!
I had a problem with my vision. I presented to a hospital who advised me to go to this A+E department. I had to be driven there as I couldn't see. I arrived there around 10am and I wasn't seen until 5pm. I appreciate the HSE is underfunded and understaffed which is why I had to wait so long. Just the pain of my eye made it a very unpleasant wait. However the staff were absolutely fantastic. I couldn't find fault in any of them. Just another example of how poorly the HSE is managed.
The most pathetic arrangement for getting into a and e. The lift and stairs are closed from the carpark. You have to walk to the other end of the carpark, up a lift. Go outside, walk up the street and walk into a and e. Horrible with a fractured foot. You'd swear they were doing this on purpose. I hope the person that thought I'd would be a good idea to block off access to a and e from the a and e carpark gets fired.
Bad memories here. I think everyone in Dublin had a nightmare in matar hospital. Health system in Ireland sucks. Hospitals are butchers. No offence to the nurses and doctors, but that is awful. I was there vomiting for 24 hours. After that I got something and in the meantime they were asking me if I can it’s better to go home!! Unbelievable! I hope instead of going there I die. That makes me feel safer.
I fell off my bike. The roads in Ireland are filled with potholes. A broken wrist was the end result. I went to the swift clinic in Smithfield. Sweet in and out in less than two hours. Since then I’ve been back to the main hospital twice for X-rays and changing of my cast . Super service no complaints. You will have to wait a while but that’s life.
0 stars, Clinic 9 receptionist said she'd left a message saying my appointment I'd been waiting for a year to get was cancelled, which was a lie once checked, what a shambles and just a lack of common curtosy, 1 star for the kind lady at level 1 info desk that helped me find my way around.
It was the worst experience I ever had, 12 hours waiting, dangerous people came in the hospital and the security fail to control the situation, and if it's not enough they didn't sort my problem just made it worse. Seriously, the worst place and service I ever seen!
Staff 110 percent was there a Godstone operation was very nervous it went great they had 2 take out more than they thought. Had a turn in hospital about 3 days after off and staff were all angels couldn't tank them enough every 1 of them just brilliant
I was visiting. Customer Service Personnel were great. There are roomy lifts and escillators to access all floors. It is very well signposted, has hand antibacterial wash containers/bars everywhere, and Security personnel are in sight on every floor.

Staff are nice, but don't keep you posted on what is going on when you're sitting in a waiting room for 5+ hours on a doctors appointment.
Well the staff looked after me so well! The food was horrible though, thank god their patient care is definitely better than their food!
There's some wonderfully talented brilliant staff working in the Mater Hospital. One or two others should be taken out and whipped!

More than 5 hours of waiting and no doctor, no one to come at least to tell why no one is being called. Total disrespect.

I am deeply grateful to the Mater Hospital staff. Thank you for your professionalism, promptness and support.
Wait times are a bit long but staff are very nice Hospital including the emergency department is very clean.
My friend couldn't breathe and they asked him to wear a mask instead of getting him a breathing device.
There is a waiting time which is understandable. One cannot guess how long one takes to see a patient.
Waiting timing for emergency 10 hours, UNBELIEVABLE! I don’t understand where my taxes go, honestly
The full 3rd world country experience, worst healthcare system of all the modern world
The doctors and nurses we encountered are very friendly and helpful.
