Salmonella complaint. On Wednesday the 14th of September myself and 6 others ordered 2 "Favourite Family Boxes" to share for lunch. By 4 am on Thursday the 15th of September those who consumed beef burgers 4/6 were severely unwell, with vomiting, stomach cramping and fever. 2/4 of us ended up in Emergency with Dehydration; after testing was confirmed as Salmonella. I notified the restaurant's manager Friday the 16th once I was in a better state, where I was told Customer service would be in contact with me. Customer service then emailed me on Monday 19th September stating that: "Our records indicate that on the day in question the restaurant served 2123 other customers. We would like to reassure you that to this date, the restaurant has not received any other complaints of this nature." and " Based on the results from our investigations, we have been unable to identify the possible origin of your illness." Apparently, 4 confirmed cases of Salmonella is not enough complaints to be taken seriously. I would also like to note, that all 6 of us consumed different food products 24 hours before, including milk etc. And only the 4 of us who consumed a beef burger ended up unwell, those who had chicken burgers were completely fine, there is no way that Salmonella came from anywhere else. Yet the restaurant is taking no responsibility. We had to close our business for two days, pay for hospital admissions, and feel terrible until 7 days later and all we have been told is that the restaurant takes no responsibility, we have not been offered a refund, we have not been offered an apology or any evidence that any investigations have been completed to confirm. I am very disappointed in the response from a company that is meant to take food safety seriously when they can't even take responsibility for something like this. If as healthy adults we were lucky that we managed after hospital assistance to be okay, but I can't even imagine the repercussions of an elderly, child or already unwell person.

SCAM MONEY: where is my paid nuggets 8th June Midnight I ordered and PAID for 40 pcs of chicken nuggets, 2 large fries, 1 sundae. I when back home and found out that they only gave us a box (20 pcs) of chicken nuggets. We called their number around 1am, a lady picked up our call and solved our problem by saying she will give us a replacement number, and we could redeem it within 3 months. 9th June Midnight I go in around the same time to redeem my 20 pcs nuggets (which I already paid for). But the staff who served me at 12:30am told me that my replacement code isn't in the system. And that he couldn't do anything about it. I speechless, the waste of time, the failed communication between staffs. Most importantly my money!!! (why is Mc Donalds charging the double amount of nuggets when they only gave me 1 box of it). Most regretful thing I have done: ordering on this Mc Donald's. I phoned them just now, and talked to them properly, in a polite manner, but I was hung up twice. TWICE, when I just wanted to get what I paid for, and I was following instructions to redeem my missing item. The Mc Donald staff said he couldn't help me, which is absurd as if I could make my own chicken nuggets. I do not know what to do now, very disappointing because we have ordered from this shop numerous time. The last step is to get the police involved if I have not receive any replys from Mc Donald's. This is an act of fraud, if this happened to me i am not surprised if it had happend to other customers. VERY DISASPPOINTING. At this moment we are still being charged extra as they said they couldn't help us. I just want my nuggets guys, I paid for it.

Updated 09.10.2023: I don't know whether they try to encourage people to do the order online or using kiosks, because when I tried to do order in person, it took a while for the staff to come and take my order. --- Well, I'm not a burger person. I visited this place for fries because to me, McDonald's fries are better and tastier than the other fastfood chains (well, some people can even differentiate fries from a specific McDonald's outlet, but I'm not that advanced ). I like their chicken nugget, and tried their el Maco, quite good but to me I want it much more spicier than what I got (personal preference). Just eat the fries / nuggets while it is still warm, because when it is cold, to me, it tastes like eating cardboard . The staff are quite friendly, but quite often the place needs cleaning - sticky, oily tables (and chairs).

They have parking spaces, but during peak time (lunch time / after office hours) you may have difficulties finding a parking spot here. You may find a paid street parking spot at Melville St or Argyle st.

The food was above average for a fast food restaurant, I ordered a Large McChicken Meal, and the McChicken was way more better than usual, same with the rest of the meal. The service was fast and we got it delivered to our table with table service. But it was unclean and definitely needed a repaint. Overall 3/5!

SELF ORDER MACHINES MALFUNCTIONING AND FOOD WAS COLD :( I don't normally eat McDonalds but it was Sunday morning in Hobart and I couldn't find a *real* cafe nearby. I'm not complaining about the quality of the food. You can readily judge that yourself - this review is about the service. Self order machine took my order and promptly shut down so I didn't get an order number.. went to the counter but no one wanted to look up and help. Eventually someone came out from the kitchen and said its fine, the order is in and your ticket number is 154! Food came out, minus my coffee.. another wait in front of the barista (who also wouldn't make eye contact). Sat down and discovered that the food wasn't hot.. not sure how they do that when it is made to order... too much bother to go up to counter again.

With plenty of order options counter, self serve terminal, Numbered table ordering or drive through available in store its very easy to grab a quick meal or sit and share with friends. Uber Eats also can easily pick up your Maccas hit and deliver. A great job is done here by the hard working youth of Tasmania. There can be a lot going on here in the heart of the city so don't expect a peaceful place to read and be nice to the wonderful staff serving you.

Both the restaurant and staff are good. The drive thru is terrible at busy times as one can not leave due to traffic causing a gridlock in the car park. This store is usually clean and the food is what you can expect from Mecca's. My main gripe here is the terrible layout for the drive thru and small car park.

Unlike every other drive thru in Hobart, these girls actually stir your sugar into your coffee, which makes all the difference. Obviously, if you are driving you can't stop to mess around with sugar and stirring.. think about it. Stirring that sugar is not just good housekeeping, and common sense, but also a professional courtesy. I had to wait seven minutes for my order, but didn't give a toss when I found they had stirred my coffee already, could only thank them. Keep up that professional courtesy, it's awesome.

Our order was wrong, the machine's were all out of order so we ordered at counter to eat in, the person taking our order was obviously new so got everything wrong and needed help, and our order was still wrong, we ordered double sausage and egg muffin, we received bacon and egg muffin with barely any bacon anyway. I have nothing against new staff, but I believe they should be helped till they feel confident.

Very bad food. Also you missed an item. Missing is fine. Sometimes when it’s too busy , everyone makes mistakes. But giving bad food has no excuse . That too McDonald’s. it’s not about the taste, but the standard quality. Patty was so dry, that I’m pretty sure it sat in the food warmer longer than it has to be. Who ever put the mayo in the burger was looking somewhere else while squeezing it. Mayo didn’t fall in to the burger. Can’t imagine, maccas in the middle of Hobart city serving such poor quality food.

Very busy location and getting a park proved difficult. Went with kids to celebrate completion of a cross country carvinal so drive through was not an option. No play equipment for the kids, which was a shame. Food was standard McDonald's, they all make the same stuff, nothing different here. Any difference in quality of the meal you receive is due to staff on shift and not the location of the restaurant you visit.

Clean amenities , Happy, friendly customer service. Drive through and face to face, I like to eat at this place. Oatmilk coffee is on the menu and its on the house for Seniors. They believe that in a Senior Citizen, I'm obviously looking my age these days. Haha! Served quickly and efficiently, showing respect not having to stand around waiting too long. Love this place. a boy working at the drive through today at around 8 o’clock gave me the rudest experience I’ve ever had at a mcdonalds, he had black hair tied in a pony tail and was caucasian and quite petite. This McDonald’s was so untidy bins overflowing and rubbish all over the floor, while being way over staff. Reported a hazard (kiosks being opened) and got nothing but attitude from the staff member. when she went to check she mumble “fu*k you”. management was horrible. tall white manager with glasses and dark hair had a bad attitude and he was clearly in the way of the crew who were desperately trying to get around him during a rush. waited like 25 minutes for my food that was basically cold. i had some nice crew help me get my food and remake it. seems like the young crew are more officiant than management.

We ordered a large meal but the chips were only filled up to the same portion as a small. The burgers looked like someone stood on them and threw them around. Will not be returning here.

Ordered a coffee at 19:01 and got it at 19:25. The staff were not busy at all but chatting and singing with each other. No one remembered my order until I finally checked with them. There was no apologies at all. Very disappointed. They never give the monopoly tickets unless you ask. The management should definitely be improved.

EVERY Uber order we get is missing something … usually straws or sauces. Today was straws. Soft drinks we can manage but shakes are a pest without straws. It’s not hard, seriously, every time! Supposed to be a treat for the kids but ALWAYS disappointing! Get it together.
