"Very odd gas station that looks more like a garage"
"This is one my locations where I get gas for my car and I haven't had any problems with the gas or with the customer service"
"Good friendly group of workers and the convenience of being right off the west side highway"
This is a very good full-service gas station. It's conveniently located at the entrance/exit of the West Side Highway at 96th St. It's a bit pricier but that's to be expected from a full-service station in Manhattan. But for that extra price, you'll be in-and-out in no time and near basically anything you need to be near. Manhattan rental-car customers: it's definitely the best choice of station to refill before returning the car. You're not filling up your tank regularly. You don't need to safe several cents per gallon. Get it done without any stress right here, return your car, and hop back on the subway like a true NYer! NOTE: If you want to exit the station and head back east, don't try to turn directly in the eastward side of 96th St. Just take the ramp up onto the West Side Highway, then stay on the right to get on the southbound side. You'll immediately see the exit for 95th St on the right. This is the correct way to head back east after filling your tank.
Okay, a story: this was the first-ever service station I ever experienced in my life: being born-and-bred on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (b.1956), my parents ritually filled up the car at this station when I was a toddler...and this was when station attendants still offered lollipops to kids. Haven't been to this station in...let's see...about 57 years, so even though I jumped across the Hudson some five years previous, I had to top off my Vespa there before heading back to Jersey. Weird, but there it is.
Very odd gas station that looks more like a garage. You can only pull in forward to this garage and it is full service. The attendant that assisted me are also aware of information and cards needed for a Zipcar gas refill. If you are not headed to the highway you will need to pull a u-turn on this street to go back east.
This is one my locations where I get gas for my car and I haven't had any problems with the gas or with the customer service. The people working in this place are really friendly and helpful every time I go there. Inside is clean and most of the time there is no line so you won't wait at all. Good job guys.
Good friendly group of workers and the convenience of being right off the west side highway. Only tricky thing about here is having to back out when there is a line and traffic trying to get on the west side highway. After a little manuevering and patience, you can get out but not as fast as getting in.
Gas Stations in Manhattan are few and far between. This one may be hard to spot as it is nestled under a building, but it's right on the entrance to the Hudson River Parkway, so a convenient place to fill up on gas before heading out, although sometimes the lines can get long.
Not many gas stations in New York city. This is not cheap but also not expensive compared to Westchester prices. No store. So if you need anything else besides gas you need to stop someplace else as well. It is tucked into a building so keep eyes open or yoll miss it
Dont ask for any type of services. The dude will try to overcharge you. the dude tried charging my friend $5 to fill up his tires with air. he didnt even do it himself literally $5 for the air hose. like no way
The guys tried to mug me by putting a shady PIN in the machine which recorded my credit card number and then tried deducting a huge amount after I left. Will file a police complaint, but all pls be careful
Very shady place here. DONT GO!!!!. They have rigged there systems so it wont accepted debit & you must pay cash. I actually was a victim of fraud from my bank because of the numerous times it was decline.
There aren’t a lot of places to get gas on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, however it’s great to know that just before getting on the West Side Highway, you can fill up at this great gas station.
Convenient location for filling up on the way out of the city, but pulling in and out of the spaces onto 96th St can be dangerous. Air available in the western-most stall, but no pressure gauges.
If you need gas on the UWS, might be your only choice. But entry/exit are difficult because the location is really tight. You need to back out very carefully and it's kind of stressful!
It's a gas station... weirdest gas station ever... always much higher prices but it's your last chance above 90th but before 125th...so what can you do???
Friendly staff but If you absolutely need gas just buy enough to get out of Manhattan. Regular was $1 more than stations in the Bronx or Yonkers.
One of a few places to gas up in Manhattan with a quick staff. It's small but they get you in and out quickly. They do tire service as well.
Four Stars because it's one of only a few gas stations left in the city. Prices are higher than average here but they offer full service.
N.Y. is a very confusing place to drive, and Manhattan is a hard place to find a had station. Thank you Google maps it worked out.
The customer service have terrible actitud due because they are the only gas station on west site on miles around. Shame of them.
One of a few stations in NYC. Prices are fair compared to many NYC stations. Easy to miss, as you have to pull into a building.
Tires needed air. 4 quarters allowed me enough time to check all tires, with the help of a staff members borrowed air guage.
This gas station is inside a building lol was quick and a fast service , no self service but it was ok , prices are average.
Full service gas station in NYC where they pump your gas! Wonderful attendants with fast and speedy service. …
In and out, easy peasy. No self service, and the gas is expensive but given the location it's no surprise.
The gasoline is ready to be served and the oil alwayse near at hand in this one-of-a-kind gas station.
Very convenient gas station. Prices are above average, but it is understandable given the location.
Price to high.. nice that its right off 96th st westside highway also one way in and one way out
MOST of the guys there are pretty nice and always willing to go the extra mile to help out
Easy to grab fuel off of the West Side Hwy or UWS. Friendly service and open all night.
Excellent Service. Old fashioned gas station. You pull into the building!! Very cool.
Both guys are wonderful, I'm happy they works there, i see them very positive energy.
Amazing gas station tucked away. Gem find in the city where gas stations are rare.
Cheats!! Thiefs!! I paid with cash and they pumped $10 less than I paid them for
A little expensive but the workers were nice. They even pumped my gas
About a dollar more than gas outside manhattan. Minimum $10 to pump
old school very quick service and gas is considerably cheaper here
Excellent service. So happy to have this convenient gas station.
My favorite gas station! the workers are friendly and helpful
Oh yeah it makes me so happy to review a gas station dip weed
Loved them better when they were 24 7
