They Ignored food allergies and meals didn't come together. While ordering my cousin mentioned he has a nut allergy he talked to the server if that was ok she made note of it and even said the meal he ordered doesn't have nuts. Meals came out fairly fast however only 4 of the 9 meals made it to the table with only 2 of the 4 side rices accompanying them. 15 minutes later the other meals came out with the rest of the rice dishes for the first set of meals, meaning some of the first meals were cold now as they waited for their rice. My cousins dish came out with nuts spread on-top of the dish, he took it back and reminded them again that he had a nut allergy. Less then two minutes later the "fresh" dish came out it was fairly obvious they had just picked the nuts out and cleaned the plate up which isn't appropriate for someone with a nut allergy, to make matter worse they missed some of the nuts when picking them out as they were still sitting in the dish under a piece of meat very lucky we saw this before he started eating. He ended up going next door to chicken take away shop and bringing back food from there to eat. Would never dine here again or recommend it to anyone.

I've been here in the past and I don't remember it being too bad. But this time.. Plates were not very clean. Prices were very expensive especially given the portion sizes. $21+ for a main that's really just a sharing size portion to start with?? Larb Gai had zero flavour (if my first attempt at cooking Larb myself was so much better what is your chef doing?), massaman curry was decent enough, rice expensive and should be included in meal prices given how high they are. Also the sticky rice was more mushy than sticky. No condiments were available without asking which is also quite strange for a Thai restaurant, as it is an important aspect of the meal to be able to put in your own chili flakes, fish/soy sauce, sweet chili sauce etc (especially when dishes that are supposed to be spicy are brought out bland and tasteless!) Perhaps get some actual Thai people involved in running the place so they can fix things up a bit. Short version: food court quality place at double the price that a lower quality place should be. I wouldn't risk going back and wasting that much money again.

Disappointed to say this place has gone really downhill in the past year. I used to love all their dishes but lately the quality has been pretty bad. 1. The pad kra prow was just sweet, like sweet chilli sauce from a supermarket and not fresh basil flavoured. 2. The BBQ beef was a bit rubbery and not real tender. 3. My pad Thai tonight was so dry and lacking flavour, just not enough sauce. These are basic Thai staples and the prices are pretty well up there for take away. (But then Tassie Asian restaurants are about $5 more than Melbourne anyway, just a shame the quality isn't following.) Sorry to say I'm getting less likely to keep going back.

First the food was good, flavoursome, well prepared and good portion sizes. Responded to our request for plates to split a portion without qualms and even left out some ingredients for allergen reasons without a blink. However the service was glacially slow, the cutlery was dirty, and we ended up with a spring roll in a glass of water. We'll probably give it another go (the food was actually surprisingly good) but next time it might be take away instead. For what it's worth the menu wasn't exactly jam packed but everything on it looked authentic to my very unThai eye.

Lovely ambience, good customer service and decent wait time for Friday evening. It was 2nd time ordering a takeaway from this place, and disappointment was the only 'Consistent' thing. * Green Chicken Curry in super small containers - not worth the money. * Khaow Pad Ke Mow (spicy fried rice) - very dry and had to use green chicken curry to swallow. * Pad Thai - NO NO NO! Ordered with chicken but there was NO chicken in the dish. Completely flavourless! I hope things get better at this place, as there are not many Thai Cuisine restaurant around the area.

Other than a one-off problem with an online order that I had to wait 35 minutes for after arriving at the restaurant, I've always had great meals from this business. The menu is quite extensive, and the prices more than reasonable. They do not serve alcohol but they do BYO which is handy. The Green Laksa is my usual go-to but I am trying to diversify and try some of the other delicious items on the menu. Great local business.

We visited Modern Thai Cuisine as a group eight. We were greated by a very kind, helpful lady who made us feel very welcome. Our meals were beautiful and a credit to the Chef. Their Chicken Panang curry is the best i have ever tasted. All eight people loved their meals Five stars from me ***** we will be back

Food was delicious. The man running the place ruined the evening as he was aggressively shouting at the very young waitresses. He also came over and said it was weird that we ordered rice on-top of our stir fried rice. He was very unprofessional but the girls there were very friendly and clearly doing their best. He is clearly not fitted to be in-charge.

I completed an online order and was informed that it would be a 30 minute wait. 50 minutes later I entered the store to pick up. The food wasn’t ready and I proceed to wait another 25 minutes for the order to be ready. The staff offered no explanation for the delay and store wasn’t busy. I do not recommend modern Thai for take away.

Unimpressed. Massaman curry was watery, beef was fatty and in huge pieces (ordered take away), vegetables were obviously boiled in extremely salty water instead of being cooked in the curry. Partner got prawn dumplings and wasn't overly happy with them. If you're ever on the GC go to ChangMia Thia! The food is authentic & service astounding :)

The Penang Chicken Curry is to die for! It's so good that it's my go to meal, for all our Hobart Chargers basketball outings However be sure to add an extra serve of rice if there are 2 of you sharing, as they only give you a small serve with the meal. Friendly staff, always greet you with a smile

Kingston is lucky to have Modern Thai. Awesome food at the right price. Easy web ordering and food ready when they say it is. All food tastes and special requirements catered for. If you haven't tried them then what are you waiting for?

The meal came out very quickly which was great, but unfortunately the stir fry had very little flavour. It was as if the meat was not marinated at all, it seemed like all ingredients was simply put in a pan for 5 minutes then served

Food was average and overpriced. Mains came out first even though we staggered our ordering to get spring rolls into our hungry kid ASAP. Spring rolls were minature, laksa was way too sweet with no vegetables, fried rice was gluggy.

Excellent service, very good food and inexpensive, regular visits to this restaurant show a consistent value for money deal.

Modestly priced simple lunch served in calm surroundings by gentle staff. Might not be the top gastronomic experience, but you can leave after a meal feeling satisfied.

reasonably priced.Really love the fish cakes.In fact I prefer them over the fish cakes I had in Thailand!.Also enjoyed the chicken satay skewers.Peanut sauce is yummy!

Takeaway food tonight was bland no real flavor and the spring rolls were cold. We had to wait 40 minutes for take away. Very disappointed. Won't be going back again.
