Summary: (1)There needs to be an option for zero stars.; (2) This place is unprofessional and will nickel and dime you; (3) Staff is slow, inconsiderate, and aggressive; (4) If you don't purchase what the want you to purchase they will withhold your card and ID and hold you hostage; (5) If you complain, they will become aggressive and escalate the situation and tell you they are the manager when they aren't; and (6) This is a grocery store converted into a club. Ultimately, just go somewhere else. I feel like this place is a scam. I travel a lot and visit many establishments. However, I usually do not leave reviews of establishments. However, I hope to save you all from the frustration of visiting this establishment. As an African-American male, I support black owned business but this place is absolutely unprofessional and I do not believe that they respect their clientele. I find it very unfortunate how some people treat their own kind. After spending nearly $300 here, I asked to close out my tab. Due to staff wanting me to purchase a bottle and belittling me for not doing so, the staff withheld my ID and card for nearly an hour. I asked the waiter for my card twice and a supervisor. Nonetheless, it took nearly an hour to get my card to leave despite the fact that the waiter walked pass me several times without returning my card. After speaking with the supervisor about the situation, he became very aggressive and did not want to hear my concerns, further escalating the situation. I find it very concerning when establishments don't care about your concerns, but just want to know what to do to get you to shut up. I waited until I was outside and in front of law enforcement before I asked for a supervisor because the supervisor that addressed me inside was not professional and was escalating the situation. In addition to the drinks and hookah taking too long to prepare, the drinks and hookah were poor quality. All of the drinks appeared to be watered-down. The hookah was $40. However, it used an electronic head that began to burn in less than 15 minutes. After every purchase of $50 they ran my card as a separate purchase, which to some degree I can understand. However, if as an establishment you can do that, you can give me my card back within an hour. I truly believe that this business conducts unfair and deceptive trade practices. Pleas spend your money somewhere else where you will get quality service. The place looks like a former grocery store turned in a club. But for be invited by people I did not know when, I would not have gone to this establishment. The place also appears to be a former grocery store or convenience store that was turned into a club. Therefore, the layout is odd. When leaving the Uber driver told me that it is an unsafe part of the town and that law enforcement is always there. I hope this establishment improves their customer service. Unfortunately, I do not feel like this is any of their concern. They rather throw you out after they disrespect you.

The ABSOLUTE worse club/bar experience I have had in Charlotte..no Experience period! First the VIP we paid for was quoted one thing and then the balance owed was totally different when we got there. We waited in VIP for 35 min and then inside this waiting room for another 30 mins. The bottle girls had the worse attitude as though they didn't even want to be there and the place had just open. It was hard to get drinks when we wanted and we ordered 3 bottles of Hennessy and 1 Patron bc the bottle girl was no where to be find. A bottle of water was $5 that wasnt even cold. I kinda felt the girl was lying but we paid the $5 and the absolute thing that killed it for me was the $60 electric Hookah for 45 mins and then $25 for an additional 30 or refill as they call it. However, the mess never worked properly. I was so disgusted so we went ahead after 1 refill and sent it back. I have never heard any mess like that ever. I have been to some really nice Hookah spots and cost was no where near $60...quality was better and you pretty much had it for 3 to 4 hours. Stats has electric Hookah for $50 but you have it for 3 hours and they check on you frequently. The place was all around a big mess. The radio makes it sound upscale but Savoy is more upscale than this. There's other areas but they are just cold rooms with space and few people standing. Of course there was no manager to see us. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE ON THE RADIO.

Welp…. I’ve came here all the way from Chicago ….. just to come to probably one of the worst clubs I ever been to… let’s start with the bottle service… they serve you your bottle and after the bottle girl pour you a cup they lock the bottle away!!!!… literally LOCK IT AWAY and the bottle girl that served you can only unlock it with a key she has… if you ask another bottle girl to open your locked away bottle she’s gonna ask for a tip… you can’t get another cup until you find your bottle girl running around the place all night… I ordered a burger and fry for $20!… that literally looks like a burger that my daughter can make for me… if you ask for water they charge you $5 for a regular Walmart water bottle not even FIJI and it’s the same price for any other beverage …..the DJ was FIRE!!!!! Which is the only reason I stayed…. I wouldn’t go here if your upscale…. This place is a money scam and made for the ratchet hood vibe…

I live in ATL but every time I visit Charlotte, this is my spot I frequent! I have had several parties here, from birthday gatherings to themed parties and have always had a blast. The personal bartenders are suffient and the club goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of the guest. Monitoring the alcohol ensures people don't over drink and have a responsible experience, after all, it's on the club if they send guest out overly intoxicated. My family has been in the club business for years and I know how challenging it can be so to see this establishment, as big as it, run smoothly warms my heart! This club has plenty of space and two sides to party, they even have an area to gather with friends to take pictures! I have always had an amazing experience and will be back anytime I'm in the Queen City!

Two stars because the DJ was awesome and the crowd was lit...but this past Saturday night I booked two VIP spaces for my friends and I and the service was lackluster at best. The VIP server came by once every blue moon and I guess they were trying to ration the juice because they gave us toddler portions in the bottles each time. Everything was overpriced in relation to the level of service, I don't mind paying big bucks if I get quality service but your server coming by every 45 minutes to the VIP just ain't cutting it. I'll go back on a Friday night when the VIP is only $150 so that lackluster service wouldn't matter nearly as much because it's cheap as hell.

A disaster! Food presentation is trash looks like a happy meal from McDonald's, Can you say OVER PRICED!! The waitresses are scam artists. This hood booger establishment could have been a gem especially in the area it is located because its growing. ( North End)However when you have mediocre management you have a mediocre business, (Starts at the top! )do yourself a favor go across the street and get street tacos for 3 $ and drinks from Camp North End cause this ain't it.. Hopefully by summer they will step this up and rebrand..Because its absolutely not !!!what is being advertised !!

If you know me you know I haven’t hit the club scene in 4 years ( I’m almost 25) . It was a well deserved outing ✨ also probably will not go to club monarch again cause $40 entry for a 2 hour event that get sliced into 1 hour because ….plot twist ! There’s a line inside the building to get into the room of the party after you already stood in line outside & paid to get in had me standing inside the building for 45 minutes ✨no refunds✨ a true scam. I never saw a group of girls curse out security just to get into the club . Its not for meeeeeee

I wandered into Monarch to meet up with a group of life long friends last weekend. Where can I begin to describe my experience? I can say it was like no other. It provides a big city feel complete with huge video screen spinning disco balls. The energy in the room was completely lit with everyone dancing and enjoying their sections. I like to stay near the bar and at Monarch the drinks were on point. Even when the bar looked busy it appeared the manager back there had things under control. I will definitely be back.

I would give negative starts if that were an option. Terrible service, paid 155 dollars for a table in the corner, next to the exit door and across from the restroom. I was not told the table would be in this location, I found out after the server walked me to the table. Staff/management took my money and gave me extremely poor service in return. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to get treated like trash. Sorry excuse for a club, not even a club, a hole in the wall ghetto mess. All of management is SORRY!

Can't say I'd ever go there. Especially since service is bad and it turns out the club encourages domestic violence. They have a bartender named Shakira Simpson (short girl with huge eyes and a bad attitude problem) who GOT DRUNK AND PROUDLY SPOKE ABOUT HOW SHE BEATS MEN AND SETS THEM UP! You'll never catch me at such a place. Not only is it wrong to let your BARTENDERS GET DRUNK but you let them BRAG ABOUT BEATING MEN?!?

Customer service was horrible... they lock your liquor up after we paid 400.00 for a section we waited for the waitress to come back like twice to unlock it but never seen her anymore. So we couldn't even enjoy the liquor that we paid for. On top of that one of my friends order the wings and never received her sauce that is suppose to come with it. She stop at least 3 different waitresses that told her that they would bring her her sauce back but they never came back.

They are too expensive for the fact that the whole club is crammed with tables no room to dance let alone walk my sis , niece and a friend went last night paid $40 to be surrounded by booth, bars and tables. Once we found a spot to at least stand they come with yet another table and made us move and squeezed it where we were stand bunching us up even more. They are too greedy for money that they want to sell tables that they don't have the room for I will not be back

Pros: Great music. The woman security guard was super nice. Cons: They could do much better on the facilities. Monarch room itself is just truly comprised of sections. There is also a bar. The bottles are kept under lock and key at your table, so you have to ask “permission” to get a drink. The bathrooms are terrible. They look like early 90s school bathrooms with the push button sinks. Definitely takes away from the upscale vibe it is portrayed to be.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Paid for tickets on eventbrite and couldn't get into Monarch room. First of all the lady checking people at the door needs to apply for tsa because she did an extensive pat down. Got inside and had to stand in another line. After waiting in line for an hour they announce Monarch room was at capacity and wanted us to go to Skylar lounge (a closet). We finally got into Monarch at 1:30am. I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!

Drove an hour and a half to this place in hopes to kick off the New Year and was in immediate disgust. Not only was the area completely trashy, it’s connected to a DOLLAR STORE! Two of the four “venues” were the only ones we could actually see when we (my boyfriend and I) pulled up. The other two were invisible. Didn’t even stop to go in. Drove 3 hours just to have our NYE night ruined. Never again will we set foot on Graham Street again.

I have came to this club several times and every time it has been lit....and the music be on point.... my girls and I can always get our dance on we are never in our seats for long not unless our feet hurting from dancing lol.....drinks on point.... if you are ever in the Charlotte area you must come visit.. my birthday coming this summer and will be having a party.....

The Outside of the Club is Definitely misleading.....Because once You get inside it's very reminiscent of a cigar bar or a hookah lounge you would expect to find on the More Suburban side of town nestled in the Restaurant district. Security was definitely visible the entire time and the servers/bottle girls were on point as well as the bartenders.

Rude and unfriendly , atmosphere. Dance floor should be bigger . Was my first time coming to this club and it was a horrible experience , I will not be coming back . Hire more professional staff and learn how to treat people with respect , no wonder the club was bare .very misleading . Don’t waste your time ! BTW learn how to keep a club clean !

Went to the Monarch Room for my Graduation celebration. The bartender make never got his name in Scarlet was welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed the atmosphere there was a slight issue but the party never stopped and I enjoyed myself to the fullest with Voynetta and DJ Buttafingerz and the other DJ before I left for the were great.

Last night I went out with my friend for her birthday celebration. Won't even waste my time typing EVERYTHING about how bad our overall experience was. Avoid this place unless you like disgusting bathrooms , watered down drinks , no room to dance , rude staff , ratcheticity , and wasting money.....

Went to Manarch for a outing with my family and it was a great experience. The bartender was very nice and kept the drinks coming. The bottle service for VIP was good as well.... A good place to go for some urban hip-hop inner city fun.... and the music was on point.....I will definately be back

Pros - bottle girls were nice, DJ was good Cons - EVERYTHING else from parking to bathroom cleanliness I've been twice for birthday parties and both times were terrible. The second time, we were charged $400 for a 2 person bench (so not VIP). Save your money and go somewhere else.

Came all the way from virginia decided to come here and it was the worst decision ever! Pretty much people just sat around and really didnt dance much or interact. Base in the speaker was too loud no spoken words . And very expensive especially if you don't wear the right attire.

rented 4 tables for 1200.00 at this establishment. was told they forgot to charge me tip which was 130.00. the waitress charged 300. I will never return here again and I am looking into pressing charges.

Monarch Room is the perfect night spot for the mature crows. Great DJ any Friday and Saturday night. Drink prices are reasonable! Definitely recommend for a girls night out!
