They pay far too much for plastic utensils. 25 cents a spoon apparently and you are only allowed to take 1 of the kind you can use. So better not eye up those forks if you got soup or horror of horrors expect any if you have a beverage. Hopefully they will get a Costco membership and stop raising prices so often. I came in except the fact I buy Bagels & Pop from you on a regular bases would account for me being able to get Fork, Spoon & Knife. I also never said the person who helped me was rude I have dealt with him on several occasions and found him pleasant. Sure I am not one of the customers that comes and gets a coffee daily but I assumed I coming there for the past 3 years counted for something. I put up with continually losing my place in line to the coffee drinkers that just walk up to the counter. I shrugged off you raising pop 25 cents despite the place across the street still charging $2.00. You are right I didn't make eye contact cause I came in still wrapped up in the work I was doing up stairs with the intention of 5 min break to eat a yogurt. I just made the assumption you worked with business folks and realize several don't leave problems at their desk. So you're right this review has nothing to do with spoons its a 1 star cause as a customer if I don't get a coffee from you every day I am apparently not worth your time. P.S. lol also I didn't ask them for there utensils I asked if they used some on their visit so I could take their allotted utensil cause as you said "Only for paying customers" & "They didn't order food" but no worries thanks for implying I am disgusting and a thief all in one reply

I love Mondo cafe. Their coffee is amazing and their customer service is the best I have received at a coffee shop. After going a few times, they know who I am and my coffee is on the counter by the time I get to the front of the line. Always greeted with a smile and happy to see you attitude. I occasionally pick up lunch there, and the salads you can tell are made fresh in the back, no bag salad here. There is a wide variety of lunch options, which are homemade and reasonable for the price. I wanted a little more than a salad one day, and the person serving me suggested to put some chicken on top. It was fresh grilled and made the perfect lunch.

Good coffee and lunch soups/chili at reasonable prices. Cold cuts sandwiches are ok but pricey. Café manager is great. One staff needs to tone down the grim persona - extremely off-putting and discouraging for a paying customer.

This cafe is a wonderful hidden gem of downtown Edmonton! With the amazing views of the legislature down the street, great pricing, and the welcoming atmosphere, this is a must go for cafes. Ally (who runs the place) goes above and beyond to ensure that your order is exactly how you’d like it! I ordered a matcha frappe and it was absolutely delicious. I have recommended this place to all of my friends, and it’s a lovely place to sit inside (or outside!) and enjoy a coffee :)

Came from Calgary for the day and was looking for a lowkey, local cafe for a quick breakfast. Mondo was exactly that, it was quiet, had a good space inside with seating and the staff was so awesome and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. When we were enjoying our breakfast the staff came around with some free little pastries for us to try! They seem to have lots of regulars which is always a good sign. Thanks!

What a great cafe, great staff, great food. Mondo is friendly place in a convenient location. The staff is personable, every time I go in I'm greeted with a smile and they take the time to make conversation and get to know what you like. I love the breakfast sandwiches, the classic rock playing in the background, and I still can't decide which danish I like the most. I look forward to each time each I go. I highly recommend!

Wow, I can’t believe how delicious my sandwich was!! The customer service was top tier. The line was long (presumably because it’s delicious) and I was tended to within a very timely manner. I’d 1000% choose Mondo over any nearby sandwich shop.

Fantastic service. Corey is always ready to serve others with a smile on his face and takes the time to remember his customers! After 1 visit he had already remembered me. His service is not only amazing, but the food we order for catering is phenomenal. Always get the bear claws, always!!! Thank you Corey and crew for always making business so easy and welcoming!

Grabbed some lunch here the other day and had the best experience! The Cafe manager was amazing and very friendly, really warm vibe. I got a chicken wrap and an iced coffee, which both tasted delicious. Will be back for sure :)

Visited for the first time and had a panini. Staff was friendly and eager to improve their selection when they didn't have a condiment I prefer, which impressed me. The lemon poppy seed cake is also pretty good. I'll be making a return visit to try some of their other options.

Super friendly staff, which made my first time here into a great experience! The white mocha was delicious as was the breakfast sandwich. Really a great value for the product. Also really appreciated all the extra staff inside deep cleaning the customer area!

The food was super fresh. It's a perfect stop for a quick bite, or if you're on the go at lunch. The owner acknowledged us right off the bat and was on the ball the whole time.

Bad coffee. Mediocre food. If you like stale, rockhard pastries purchased originally at Safeway and then re-sold 3 days later for 5 times the price, this is the place for you.

This little hidden gem is amazing!! The manager Ally is incredible and always has great food on special! Definitely a must try!
