Response to Owner: If you don't want to invest in the proprietary equipment as a small business, fair to me, but once your customer suffers because of it, either refund, or do the reinspection free of charge. I am all for supporting small business, but shouldn't you have a better customer service to justify my support? How is your philosophy of work different than large corporates if you treat the customers even worse? Also, your offer for reinspection was $99, and not $69 (not that it matters, it should be 0 in this case, because the need for reinspection is not due to my negligence but your lack of equipment). Furthermore, professionally, you should disclose this deficiency of equipment once you are setting the appointment. If I knew this, I would not have used your services and would have gone straight to the dealer. I assume many others are not aware of such an issue, hence this review to spread the information. Short story: Don't take your car to this auto service for inspection. They over-charge and don't have the right equipment. Long story: I took my car for a safety inspection; it failed on a couple of tests. The gentlemen working there referred me to the dealership since they don't have the equipment to understand the car error codes. I was charged $200 for the inspection. Here is the issue, I only have 10 calendar days to book an appointment with a dealership that has the "equipment", otherwise I have to go through the entire reinspection process and reinspection fee. I cannot find any dealership with an available appointment in 10 days since it is a busy season. I called them back and they offered to reduce the reinspection fee to $99 (total = $300), which is not acceptable in my opinion. Again, these fees are only for inspection, and not for repair or maintenance. My suggestion to this auto service for improvement: If you don't have the equipment, don't accept safety inspections and don't charge folks for reinspection. People's time and money matter, be accountable to your customers and your deficiencies.

It was a simple inspection for insurance because my car is a 2007. This is not my regular mechanic but because the insurance company want the inspection done asap and my mechanic was booked for over 3 weeks. I remember this place when the mechanic was a old man very experienced and most of all very honest found a problem at a different car I had after 3 visits with no luck to a gm dealer. With this in mind I choose Montgomery Auto Service but after this experience I wont go there anymore. Mister super mechanic from Montgomery failed my car for the road for a leak of oil at one of the shocks the oldest trick in the book only 1500 bucks estimation. Even if it was a leak my car wont fall apart on the road for a shock for me this is no professional maybe mister super was upset he couldn't make easy money on me. The answer from the owner is not funny is upsetting they don't know the rule the customer is always right just because he is the one that pay. I was a service tech for over 45 years in a different field and nobody wrote something about my honesty and about the picture is a nice try I have a camera too. But have a good day ! You just lost a customer so what ! Update: As u may see I was right so whos the Pinocchio ? Add a loose ground wire at the battery and you have the entire picture of this team who can not bent the law. What a joke!

Have been here a few times with a couple different vehicles, and have always experienced good service and reasonable prices. Today though - today they get 5 stars from me. My (2016 Mazda CX-5) car’s battery has been needing replacement for a month or so - randomly requiring boosts for no apparent reason (not just when it is freezing random body parts off cold). This morning was another such morning, but today was the day I finally called to book an appointment for a battery replacement. When he asked me when I wanted it done, I said “as soon as I can”. He replied by saying “I can get you in this afternoon” - I was honestly thinking before I called that best case scenario it would be this week. Came by in the afternoon, and they had my car in the service bay, back out and ready to roll in less than 20 minutes. Shop guys (that I spoke with anyways) were super nice (which has always been the case). Plus they have 2 adorable and very well mannered shop doggos. 5 stars all around!

I took my car for oil change and a battery problems since my car was turning off while driving, they suggested to buy a new battery to fix the problem, I agreed and ask them to install a new one, Total was $450 Not even 24 hrs. my car was having the same issues again, took it back and they did an electrical inspection, Now the problem was something else, Now they want to charge $210 more for the part and labor, My frustration is that they did not find the second problem the very first time. I talked to the owner to try to make a deal (wave at least the labor charge) He said "NO sorry my guys don't work for free and everything is getting expensive". I was a loyal costumer for 7 years. Now I am an unhappy costumer and wont take my cars or recommend this place again... Basically they don't care about loosing costumers

Highly recommend! Got an Out of Province Inspection with these guys. Ended up needing work to pass, they got it done within the next day and gave me a loaner vehicle in the meantime. They emailed pictures and a detailed quote, which was great. So far I'm happy with the work. But what REALLY set them apart is when I went to pay. Went to pick up my car at the end of the day, and forgot I had a daily debit limit set. Went to call my bank and there was a 45 min wait to talk to a rep. Meanwhile, these guys are trying to close shop... They let me do an e-transfer, and then one of them waited the 30 minutes it took for the bloody thing to go through, chatting nicely with me the entire time. I felt awful but they were great and made me feel better about it. Really appreciated the accommodations made, top-notch service!!

Wife and I were driving from the midwest to Alaska for our honeymoon. The check engine light came on right before we drove the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. We did that, then drove to Calgary. Turns out a temperature sensor was broken so that the fan was not running. We could have cooked our engine by sitting in traffic or in park too long. Not a great malfunction to drive to Alaska with. That's where these folks come in. They were quick with ordering parts, and we were in and out in four hours, start to finish. They gave us lots of helpful information about the repair as it was occurring. They were courteous and able to squeeze our car in on a busy day. They literally saved out honeymoon.

Paid 344$ dollars to get a misfire fixed that was not fixed. they made me pay THEN after taking my hard earned money. He tells me "oh BTW your engine light is still on, it might go away after you drive it for 50k" the problem didn't even get fixed and now they want me to bring it back a 3rd time. Scam me again. Initially I got the car serviced here and they replaced the spark plugs without the coils. Then 1 month later the cars is back getting its coils done. They do the ABSOLUTE Barebones work on your car. If you have anything nicer then a Honda or a Toyota I would avoid this place at all costs. Update: In the end the owner of the company made everything right and treated me fairly.

Thank you for forgetting to torque my front and rear wheels on driver side after insurance inspection. Wheels almost came off on Deerfoot Trail, I could spin the bolts with two fingers after stopping. What even makes it more disgusting was how a journeyman mechanic blame it on 3rd year apprentice for breaking a spark plug and replacing it as if he was not responsible at all. I work in the trades, I know how it is. Only the guy at the reception desk was so much helpful. Should have consider some of the reviews that are not great. Bottom line is, although I have all the receipts and invoice, I don’t even want to go back to talk to them at all. Thanks guys for ur great service!

I don't usually write these, but this is an exception for an exceptional repair shop! Montgomery Autobody exceeded my expectations. I brought my vehicle in for dents and painting. I have to say that I was in and out with a fair estimate in a few short min. I was happy as I need to get back to work. The person that did the estimate gave me a complete run down and answered my million questions. Then they did all the rest...contacted my insurance company, fixed everything I wanted and did a beautiful paint job. All was completed in time...actually 1 day earlier than expected. I would give Montgomery Auto body 10 stars if I could.

I recently had to fit my vehicle in for an unexpected repair on a holiday. I needed my car by the next day and I’m so thankful for Montgomery Auto Service! They were able to accommodate me the same day (thankfully they were open!) and finish the required work before the end of the day. As someone who doesn’t understand much about cars, it means a lot to find a trustworthy auto shop! Their prices are very fair (and that’s coming from a friend of mine who also works in a shop that I trust) and the staff were all very friendly and nice. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

We came to Calgary for a small vacation & unfortunately our car broke down. Thankfully these guys were nearby & were able to take us in right away. Within hours they had our car diagnosed & fixed, about 1.5 hours earlier than estimated! Dave was awesome to deal with. He gave us a ride to our hotel and back when our car was ready. They even washed it! They knew we were students from Manitoba, we were happy to find out they even gave us a discount on our invoice. Would definitely recommend these guys for all your car needs! Very efficient, friendly and honest.

John Bergen and his team have been taking care of my 2003 Toyota Highlander for several years. I can highly recommend this garage without hesitation. I am always notified by telephone before work they suggest is undertaken, and there is never pressure to have it done. Dylan, and now Dave, at the front desk always advise if it is absolutely necessary now or should be done in the future. Old parts are saved to show me the reason for the repair. Prices are reasonable, work is completed when promised, and there are no surprises. I am a customer for life.

My BMW was misfiring and I called them to find out the cost of diagnosis. They said $45+gst. I took it is and they said they could not find any problem code, but that I should change ALL PLUGS AND COILS FOR +/-1300+GST TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. I did not want to do that work without a proper diagnosis and they wanted to charge me +/-$150+GST for the unsuccessful diagnosis. After some discussion I had to pay +/-$120+GST. Later, I found somebody that was able to read the code and found that the problem was only on cylinder 3.

Today, the coldest day so far at -28 I had problems with you door locking mechanism. Trying to fix it myself was becoming frustrating so We drove to Montgomery Auto Service. After explaining my problem to the young gentleman at the counter he went into the shop to pick up a few tools and came outside and did a repair in the parking lot at -26 temperature. He demonstrates the true meaning of Christmas and community service. I should have asked him his name. So I just wanted others to know of his kindness and to say thank you so much.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with this place. Having opened at 7:30 (awesome!), I was told that they would try to take a look at my car that day. They kept my expectations realistic, not promising anything, but willing to help me to the best of their ability. They were able to dig the rock in my wheel well out that day and the price was incredibly reasonable. It was a great experience in an industry that’s notoriously difficult to trust. I will go back again in the future.

Called 2 other places before these guys. One said they couldn't get me in for 3 days, the other said they'd need to keep my car for at least 2 days. Called these guys, booked me in immediately, I drove straight down, had me in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. Super friendly, not expensive, explained things to me very clearly. Only had to leave work for about an hour instead of not being able to drive for several days. Excellent service, these guys will be my go-to from now on!

I had an Amazing experience, had frozen my drivers side w/s wiper on the hiway on my way to Calgary. It thawed out and worked once and then stopped working completely? not good when snow is melting, of course passenger side still worked. I was due to head back home. I didn't know what I was going to do. Stopped in at Montgomery Auto Service. He came right out, looked at the problem and fixed it. He didn't even charge me for his time. Works perfectly. Thanks soooo much.

After getting a seasonal maintenance package I checked things out. The tires weren't rotated and there was no grease on any nipples. My main issue was them trying to slip on extra charges. $6 to top up windshield washer fluid, which I had just done they day before. $4 for an oil gasket even though I had never had any issues with oil leaking. This was me giving them a second chance after my first time a few years ago was very disappointing also.

Stopped by the other day with a windshield wiper that refused to even touch my windshield. I've had parts replaced on the wiper arm in the past for $100+ so I expected the bill to be about the same this time. Instead, Willy just grabbed some spray from the shop, gave it a few sprays, and it was as good as new five minutes later! Best part: they didn't even charge me even though I would have been happy to pay. Thanks Montgomery Auto Service!

I recently visit Montgomery auto select to fix my TMPS pairing. I did not buy the tires or mounting service from them. To my surprise, owner Dave and technician Andrew went out of their way to resolve the issue at no cost. Despite the brief 15-minute task, their kindness reinstilled a sense of human warmth that I find increasingly rare. This marks my second visit to the shop, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to the community.

I was on motorbike trip through Alberta and BC and I noticed that some oil was seeping from my drain plug and when I went to tighten it I could do it with my hand. As I did not have tools with me I stopped in here as it was next to my motel to see if they would help me out and tighten the bolt and they did free of charge and saved my from an embarrassing moment at the side of the road if my drain plug would have fell out.

My daughter phoned to get a quote for a new radiator in her mazda. Quote was for just under $1,300 to replace the radiator. Part costs $200 and a job that should take less than an hour Absolutely ridiculous. they claim that the labor is 4.6 hours! And the part was $450! Absolute thievery and only because it was a woman's voice on the other end of the line I'm sure. Stay far away from this place.

After being incredibly disappointed by Canadian Tire and being put in a situation I needed a same-week winter tire swap, the team at Montgomery Auto was so understanding of my situation and was able to get me in the next day given I could leave my vehicle with them. This was a testament to a business that understands customer service. I’d highly recommend them and will definitely be going back!

Tony and the guys at Montgomery auto took great care of my wife's car and my truck. After buying them from an auction without being able to get an inspection, they did a thorough once over and we're very up front with what they found and gave options on what to do. Broke down the cost for each issue (parts and labor) both very reasonable. Friendly and efficient group. Would highly recommend.

I have been bringing my vehicles to Montgomery Auto Service for many years. The thing that impresses me the most is that if something is not broke, they will not fix it. They will monitor the situation and will keep you well informed as to when it needs more attention. I also find it very convenient to be able to store my tires there. Montgomery did a rear brake job on my 2017 Ford Escape last week. I’m very pleased with the repairs which were completed in a very timely manner. While another garage had advised me that an expensive front engine cover gasket needed replacement, Montgomery advised it was too early and that these repairs could wait. I highly recommend Montgomery Auto Service.

Dave and team took care of our Ford Escape’s brakes and shocks at a lower price than the dealer. When I called about a turbo issue he was honest that the dealer would be a wiser choice as they have more know-how in this area. Great to see honesty and integrity from a shop that recognizes where they can/can’t do work. Will continue to use going forward!

I brought my vehicle in for the seasonal maintenance package. I had concerns about my exhaust system (loud rumbling) as well. David was very helpful and thorough in going through the work that needed to be done on my vehicle and found reasonable parts for the main concerns, considering it was an 05 Equinox. The vehicle drives like a dream now!

Considering the pandemic taking place. Vehicle was taken into shop for diagnosis which therefore: took me for an arm an leg!! Costing me well over 400.00 for just the diagnosis, and on top of that additional labor. Never had a mechanic tell me they "don't know" Wouldn't recommend nor will we be returning. First time and last time there.

I would highly recommend the team at Auto Select Montgomery for any mechanical services. They have serviced our vehicles for many years. They are always honest, fair and trustworthy. They saved my husband's butt again. Belt for water pump started to come apart. As it was shredding it was cutting into the upper radiator hose. They loaned my husband a vehicle so he could get to an appointment. He has been dealing with this business since the mid 1970s when it was the Petro Canada at Westbrook. Thanks again!!

My husband, Greg, has taken our vehicles to Montgomery for the last 10 years. Their work has always been superior and under-cost compared to dealerships. We recently had the rear tie rod fixed on our Flex and they did an excellent job and price was reasonable. We definitely will be continuing to bring our vehicles to them.

Had a great experience with MAS. They saw me on short notice, and turned around repairs within a day. Was very happy for the limited downtime. We also struggled with an intermittent issue that came and went... They were gracious and thorough in their attempts to isolate the issue. Would certainly deal with them again.

After being taken by other car repair services, I was leery about taking my son's vehicle there. Service was excellent, they were honest. Price was decent. They didn't try to fix anything that didn't need fixing and explained the situation clearly. Only downside (if it is even one) is they are a M-Fri shop.

The receptionist was very helpful and very pragmatic in suggesting required services for my crystler200 lx. He striked out all unnecessary services from my original list and delivered my car on time. Also it was very friendly on my picket. Definitely recommend this place for a car service.

I've been taking my car here for close to 10 years now. They are helpful, well priced, friendly, and do everything they can to ensure you are satisfied and your car is running well. They changed ownership once in those years but the friendly feeling and service remained the same.

Really bad experience, unbelievable scanning charges for half an hour for $150, never had that bad experience with customer for any other auto repair shop. Please people around be aware and highly not recommend. Even one star not deserved.

I've had some work done a couple times by these guys. They're very good at explaining what the problem is, and all your options for addressing it. Both times there were very quick to get me rolling again too.

Stay as far away as possible from this place. They tried to Put a starter into my friends car after they determined the engine had seized. They wanted to see if perhaps they could re-start the engine.

I got major services done on both my Lexus IS and my Chevy Avalanche here, excellent quality of work and awesome communication about what needs or does not need to be done on the vehicles. 10/10

They quoted me for an hours worth of labour to replace the serpentine belt in my vehicle, which excluding the parts cost was 100$. I did it myself at home, in 5 minutes.

Brought in mid m Monday morning - found the issue - ordered the parts had my truck by end of the same day. Great people and service at this shop - highly recommend.
