To phrase this simply, it has been life-changing for me. It had been 2 years and a half that I had back pain every single day. The pain was ruining my life, I had to keep my back covered with pain relieving patches so that I could handle the pain and live "normally". I have tried countless other professionals with different specialties during these years and none could move the needle. For the visit, Lindsay who is the chiropractor gave me her diagnostic, but she wanted an MRI of my back(that I had done by previous Dr but neither the lab neither him could see any issue) to back up her theory. at the second visit, the MRI showed exactly what she said, and that was a huge hope for me as all previous professionals had theories but nothing to back it. She advises me the unlimited pack (yes it's a lot of money but worth it!!!) and I went for it. After a month in, not much had changed, I did not want to lose hope as I was confident in Lindsay diagnostic and believed the method of receiving chiropractic and physical therapists care at the same location, the main reason is they sync up their work. I went for a second unlimited plan. I remember this time when Lindsay realized that it was a month in and she was not happy of the insignificant results, she told me something like "that will not last, we will make this pain go away, there is no way we will fail at this". That made me laugh but more seriously I loved that she was not settling on unsatisfying results. She adjusted a bit the treatment and BOOM! The magic happened! I had no more back pain 2 weeks after. I can't express how happy I am about this. Lindsay literally allowed me to get my life back. I was starting to lose hope after 2 years and half of useless treatment, so much time, energy and money spent for nothing. I was hearing countless stories of people who are living with back pain and gave up trying to treat it. Spending their life taking painkillers and injections, I was fearing for the worse. Motus clinic is not worth 5 stars, it's worth a million ones.

If you are like me, you may have been to a “top rated” physical therapist that spent the better part of four months telling you to repeat bodyweight squats as they double booked sessions always rushing you to ice and stim. Whenever I asked questions I would be told that I needed to stretch more and break up scar tissue. For months I saw no improvement and finally gave up on physical therapy assuming I would never return to basketball or soccer. One day I came across Motus Rehab and began to read reviews. I noticed consistent patterns with patients mentioning “they are actual doctors” who “know what they are talking about.” Well, they were right. During my first session with Lindsay she spent the better part of an hour breaking down my entire injury and helping me understand how my knee was healthy and my hip, back, and leg strength were driving the issues. She put me on a regimented plan and within 8 weeks I am back on the court. I cannot recommend Lindsay and Motus enough. It is absolutely worth the money.

The Motus crew have seriously been life changing for my husband- they are the only practice that has been able to effectively address his numerous sports injuries, major back issues, crazy tight muscles etc. and helped him regain a good quality of life. They have helped my acute issues as well- I walked (shuffled?) in almost totally immobile after throwing my back out and left being able to touch my toes- no exaggeration. Dr. Stephens is like no other chiro experience either of us have ever had- and we've had a lot. Appointments are ~45min, include adjustments, soft tissue work and recommended exercises. I am so grateful that Dr. Stevens does what she does. We recently moved out of state and both booked appointments with Dr. Stevens when we came back to SF for a long weekend because we can't find anyone like her where we are now. Bonus: Their SOMA office is beautiful, they offer early and late appointments and Joanna at the front desk is wonderful!

Dr. Stephens treated me when she was at another practice along with Joanna. That must have been… 5 years ago? I was not thrilled when they left to start Motus and was no longer taking insurance. I tried and I tried, but I could not find anyone quite like Dr. Stephens. She is one of a kind. I see immediate relief of my pain after a treatment with her – something that would take several sessions with anyone else. I’ve had chronic neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel, computer work pain and a major knee surgery. Dr. Stephens has worked through it all with me. I don’t know what I would have done without her. The Motus team is wonderful and phenomenal at what they do. They care deeply about their patients. I finally recruited my husband after they expanded their offerings to include yoga. You will see results working with them.

The team at Motus is amazing! I started visiting their office last year when I was having mysterious pain and tingling in my legs and back. I saw both Lindsay and Megan who together used a variety of different treatments and exercises to address my symptoms. They were both so patient through the process and determined to diagnose my symptoms. With their support I eventually saw some different specialists who helped me discover a tumor on my spine. I was extremely grateful for their guidance and compassion during such a confusing time. Their admin manager Joanna was super helpful and accommodating of my scheduling needs as they changed after my surgery. I also had an amazing massage with Sal post surgery which was very therapeutic. Highly recommend this team! I had a wonderful experience with each one of them!

Lindsay is the best physical therapist I’ve ever worked with - and I’ve seen and tried many! If you are dealing with a complicated injury and want to work 1-1 with a therapist who builds a custom plan that works for your schedule and body, highly recommend. Lindsay has shifted my hope, made me stronger, and I’ve learned so much about my body through her explanations. Lindsay actually works to reduce your dependency on therapy / chiropractic work by focusing on exercises and tools for you to take home on your own while still doing some body work. She really listens and reacts to how the exercises and mobility work impact my body rather than giving some generic PT plan like other therapists have given. Bonus is she’s also just a kind and funny human.

The physical therapist, Megan-Marie, is amazing, I'm an avid crossfitter and weightlifter and like to see a PT on a regular basis for aches and pains and to evaluate how I'm moving. She's well versed in crossfit and not only helps me if I'm having trouble with anything but also if I'm looking to recover faster. They use cupping and Graston technique here which always seem to work wonders for me. Been here twice and already noticing huge improvements in my tendonitis and mobility in general. They're cash only but I use my FSA card to pay without an issue. Looking forward to booking with their Chiro and Masseuse!

I was recently injured playing soccer and I wanted to get my leg healed asap. Turns out The Motus Clinic being right in downtown San Francisco, is just what I needed. Dr. Lindsay Stephens was able to diagnose my injury and set me up with a practical recovery time frame that aligned with my goals (getting back to sport). She was always 100% attentive, so knowledgeable, and of-course 'chill'. The booking process was exceptionally easy ( I went online), a was able to sneak in some appointments before the holidays. Being a Personal Trainer in the city, I can say this facility is top notch. :)

Motus Membership helped jump start my health/fitness goals. Membership began over a year ago which allowed me several individual yoga instruction with a great/helpful instructor. This lead to the comfortability ability to participate in weekly classes. Motus on Demand has afforded me additional yoga practice which fits into my busy schedule as well the opportunity to provide the freedom and variety to continue improvements to my health/wellness needs. Benefits for me has been weight loss; more energy; better sleep as well as accomplishments and confidence.

I saw Sal for a 1.5 hr massage and I can't recommend it highly enough. After 5 years looking for a massage therapist that can help work out my back, I feel like I finally reached the promised land. Sal knows the body so well and was able to diagnose and release tension in my body that's totally changed how I think of the back pain I've experienced. Not only did the session restore ease in my body, he also gave me useful homework to continue therapy on my own between sessions. Can't wait to come back!

I feel very fortunate to have access to Lindsay here in the SF Bay Area. She has helped me tremendously with chronic neck pain as a result of working from home during the COVID lockdown, as well as most recently a sprained ankle. While her clinic does not accept my health insurance, I have found that, unlike conventional insurance-covered physical therapists and sports physicians, she actually addresses and fixes the root causes of my injuries.

  • Robert Malmstein

I had been going to physical therapy at different places on and off for 10 years. When I found Lindsay she was able to help diagnose the root of the problem, and fix that, NOT just the symptoms (which is what all the other places did). I am SO happy seeing her and I’m doing much better than before and only getting better! I would HIGHLY recommend Lindsay to anyone that need physical therapy and have already referred some of my friends! :)

Motus is a first class facility for treating sports injuries or just the aches and pains that come from modern office work. Dr. Stephens has a breadth of knowledge, arsenal of techniques, and precise touch to get you well aligned. Dr. Delegas has the vision and knowledge to assess your movement and get your muscles all working. Joanna coordinates everything seamlessly. You'll walk out feeling much better than when you came in!

So grateful for Lindsay Stephens and Motus Clinic for helping me through all the aches and pains that come with being a professional dancer. Lindsay also studies dance herself, so it was extremely helpful to work with a practitioner who knows and understands the strain that’s put on a dancer’s body. I would highly recommend Lindsay Stephens and Motus Clinic. Professional, knowledgeable and a great facility in SF!

Lindsay is an amazing professional. She is my go-to person when I have big physical challenges and she gets me back to an active lifestyle. She first helped me get back to more activity after falling on my back many years ago. I then recently visited her for hip issues and chronic hamstring tendonitis (that other pt had not solved). I'm excited to be working on this next set of challenges with her.

Lindsay and the team and Motus took the time to establish a strong, trusting relationship, and gave me confidence that I would get the care and attention I needed. Lindsay's program of massage, mobility exercises, and strength work has solved the knee injuries that plagued me for years, and has also given me the tools and knowledge to stay healthy going forward.

Dr Stephens is the best. Always taking time to assess your body, lifestyle and then making recommendations to help you as opposed to just adjusting and sending you on your way. I've also worked with Aaron and Sal over the years. I love that everyone's philosophy is the same, and that all practitioners can collaborate on what will be most helpful.

  • David B

I've trusted Sal Flores with my body and spirit for over 5 years to heal me in times of injury and help in times of high performance. He is a rare master practitioner. Recently I started care with Dr. Stevens too and I'm impressed with her attention to my case and tailored treatment and the success I've had already in recovering from an injury.

Lindsay Stephens is an outstanding chiropractor. She was a lifesaver when I was experiencing persistent and debilitating neck and back pain from laptop use. Not only is she professional and skillful, but she is empathetic and when I left San Francisco a few months ago, I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. She will be hard to replace.

  • Danielle P

After having been to about 3 different physical therapy places in San Francisco, Meg and Lindsay are hands down the best PT/Chiro combo I have found. They work together so well to help you diagnose, treat and prevent further injury. I had a series of running related injuries and they were able to get me back out and running again pain free.

  • Jackie Shadmand

Fantastic new facility with honestly the most amazing chiropractor and PT in the city. I could not recommend this clinic and the staff anymore, they have helped me so much!!! Online booking, they're always on time, they truly care about their patients and are so knowledgeable about their specialties.

Lindsay Stephens is a LIFE SAVER. She is a caring, empathic healer who listens closely to her patients and then helps them achieve their goals or recovery plans. She was instrumental in my rehabilitation after a devastating accident. I highly recommend her and the MOTUS clinic, an amazing facility.

  • Joseph Berg

I have used more than 12 different practices, various modalities, and wasted over a decade searching for this clinic. Amazing! Knowledgeable, positive, and not dogmatic. I am so enthusiastic to continue my trip back to wellness here.

Got a massage from Aaron, he's awesome! Very knowledgeable, can really feel any problem areas to work on them. My chronic shoulder clicking was gone afterwards, and he showed me some exercise to maintain the progress. Go see him!

  • Rachael Palmer

I had a fantastic hour massage with the skilled and knowledgeable Aaron. I had a painful knot near my shoulder blade that melted away after the massage. I highly recommend booking a massage with Aaron!

  • Chelsea Wilkinson Mains

Lindsey is fantastic- she helped me work through some pretty bad back and neck pain and then gave me the tools to get stronger and continue improving on my own. I can't recommend MOTUS enough!
