When I was pregnant I somehow developed frozen shoulder in both shoulders. Not only was it incredibly painful, I wasn’t able to sleep on my side which you’re supposed to do as the baby gets bigger (sleeping on your back can lead to risks when the baby is big), so I was really anxious for my shoulders to heal and I wasn’t making any progress with just doing PT on my own. I saw Julian as I had seen him previously for a ski injury and my knee healed well under Julian’s PT support. Julian not only had me do exercises but also did hands on manipulation of my shoulders — the sessions were super painful but after a few sessions I could feel the difference and my shoulders were gaining mobility. Julian’s dry humor helped lighten the mood and the PT assistants were great at adjusting to my needs in helping me do exercises and ice afterwards. It’s more expensive than other PTs and out of network with my insurance but so worth it — each 1 hour session here was so much more valuable than 2 30 min sessions at another practice. After a few months of sessions with him combined with massage therapy, I was healed just in time for my third trimester of pregnancy. I’m so grateful to Julian for what he did to accelerate my healing, and will go back for any other PT needs

I was a patient at SOMA Sport & Physio for 8 months following a motorcycle accident, sustaining serious injuries to my left ankle. What would have been a long and exhausting recovery, became a positive and motivating experience due to the incredible attention to detail, welcoming staff and environment, and positive results from treatment. Dr. Ki Cheng is great. Just a couple weeks in and there was visible progression. My sessions were split between 30 minutes of manual therapy, and 30 minutes of exercises (with a designated trainer). The exercises were definitely the hardest part of my overall recovery, but Ki would assign different exercises each session to give some variety and keep me motivated. He would also give me helpful advice and assign exercises to do at home on my own time. I've tried a few physical therapy places prior to SOMA, but decided on SOMA because all the staff members really care about each patient's recovery and results.

I am so grateful I found SOMA Sport & Physio! I worked with Anna and she was so phenomenal. Cannot recommend her highly enough! I got a strained calf during my training program for my first half marathon and I was really concerned I may not be able to be back in running shape in the 6 weeks before the race. But Anna quickly got me back to running without pain and helped support me and get me stronger throughout my training. I feel way better than I could have expected going in! The whole office is a really great training environment and the team is very skilled and competent. I was very sad to move away and not be able to keep going!

This is long overdue; I rehab'd a shoulder sprain with Dr. Julian Cisneros about 8 months ago. I had 2 sessions a week for 3 or 4 weeks. Julian was great! He helped me understand my injury and the timeline for getting back into activities that I was sidelined from. Now I'm weight lifting and playing ultimate frisbee again pain-free. Throughout the process, I worked with aides Brian, Deji, and Jessica. Each of them was fantastic at guiding me through my exercises, correcting my mistakes, and helping me get back to 100%. I can't thank Julian and everyone else enough for helping my shoulder get to where it is today.

Came to SOMA Sport and Physio wanting to try and avoid another surgery for an old injury. The difference after going for a few months was amazing- less pain, muscle growth in previously atrophied places, and improved range of motion. But even with the huge improvements I still had pain. So I ended up getting the surgery and went back after. I’m just about to finish up PT and am no longer limited by any activity and am pain free. Anna was great through the whole process giving me a variety of exercises every week that kept PT fun and helped me make progress every week.

I came to SOMA Sport & Physio attracted by the great reviews and good location for me. I needed some physio treatments after knee ligament tear and was working with Julian. Julian and the team provided excellent care, were always available for questions and guided me through recovery and going back to my usual sports activities. Warmly recommend the company and Julian personally!

Great experience at SOMA. Sophia and Anna are wonderful PTs who tag teamed my care - really appreciated their willingness to experiment with different manual therapies and exercises to see what worked for my back injury (herniated disc). Special shout-out to Brian, Jessica, and Deji, the PT aides who worked closely with me in coaching me through the exercises.

This is an amazing spot for Physical therapy, the PT is incredibly thorough with the first evaluation and then gives exercises, and stretches. Follow up visits are mostly with the attendants as there is a whole gym in the building. They walk you through the form for exercises. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good PT/Sports Medicine spot

Had a fantastic experiencing rehabbing a knee injury with Dr. Julian. Each session I got stronger and it was always clear what the plan was. Special shoutout to Deji and Brian who helped get me thru the exercises each time. Would highly recommend SOMA Sport & Physio to anyone going thru PT.

They treat people differently, if you happend to be Chinese you get all bills & whistles, 5 stars service, if not expect cutting corners, squirmy service. Come on, there are many places in San Francisco are better than you in regard to your lousy attitude & bias.
