I’ve been here twice as a patient and my mom has been here three times. This review is based on my recent experience with my mom here only. We have had comparatively “better” experiences in the past and we have certainly met some good people working here who are sincerely trying to do the right thing in the context of an utterly broken system, but I’m not writing about those or them right now. I’m writing only to say please be careful when you go to this hospital (and others). Do NOT leave your loved one here if you can help it. My advice would be not to leave them regardless of what any nurses or other staff tell you. On June 2, 2022, I waited for 5.5 hours with my mom in one of the ER rooms. I asked two of the nurses if it would be okay for me to leave, to resolve a work-related issue that arose at the same time as our medical emergency, and come back. I was told “take your time” and that I could come back any time to be with my mom. I specifically double checked on this very critical point due to past experiences. I was also told I would be called before she was transferred from the ER. When I returned two hours later, much to my chagrin, she was in isolation on another floor, as a “COVID rule out” patient. She was hooked up to artificial oxygen (although she has no breathing problems just normal hospital-induced anxiety), and I was not permitted to enter her room while they waited for “PCR test results” which I was told would take between 48-72 hours. The results came back within 24 hours which is still an unacceptable time of separation, given my mom’s various urgent needs, many of which can only get fulfilled at home. (39 daily tasks) After that, I was only permitted to see her for one hour per day. She was tied down in her bed for ten days. There was no warning given in advance that my mom would be separated from me and treated this way. Unfortunately I am sure our experience was better than many others as my mom got out alive. I am my mother's POA and Mt. Sinai has the POA papers. Please exercise caution when going here, only do so as a last resort, and I hope you read between the lines.

If giving a 0 was an option. My mom unfortunately broke her leg and had to be transferred over to Sinai. We didn’t think that the care my mom would receive would be below average. If we had known this, we would have asked for a transfer but my mom was in so much pain and discomfort we let her stay. Big mistake! I understand nurses have a tough job and we are not the only families they care for. The lack of empathy was noticed in all nurses on the 5th floor. My mother had to wait for hours to go to the bathroom or receive pain medication. During the day my family was there so we were able to address these concerns but at night she was unattended for. My sister had to call the nurses station several times a week at night bc my mom had been paging the nurses station and no one came by. My mom had a catheter input and the one they gave her was not working so she kept wetting herself. The nurse was clearly bothered bc she had to clean my moms bed pad 3x. I was there to help my mom but if I hadn’t been there god knows how long she would had to wait to get the pad changed. She needed the pad changed immediately bc infection could happen. The event that put the cherry on top was my mom was scheduled to be picked up by the ambulance to be taken home btwn 3-4pm so they disconnected her machines and had her on a chair. My mom sat in that chair for 5 hrs before getting transported home to the ambulance. The ambulance guy said they tell us on the spot when to pick someone up so that’s why he picked her up at 930. So my mom was basically at the mercy of the staff at the hospital. I’m disgusted and upset that this hospital does not care for its patients. I can only imagine what it’s like for people that don’t have someone advocating for them. This hospital needs to do better and treat its patients with dignity and respect. There was one CNA who was soooo amazing. Her name is Yvette and I am forever grateful to her for being a caring staff member. She needs a raise bc she sets a perfect example of what caring for a patient in need is.

On March 12 I had to take my spouse to the ER she couldn't breathe and it was very scary. Unfortunately the distinction from the hospital and ER I didn't make so we were in the hospital and had to u turn, I say that because maybe better signage would help stressed family members like me. As I ran in I was able to get her a wheelchair made it through security to Triage. They took her as quickly as they could. I stayed behind to give her details insurance and demographics. Then I was advised she would be in bed 9. I was told after I register her that I could go back. I was on my way back but Security stopped me. He had to confirm I could go back. He checked but didn't find her. Finally he found her in bed 11 and he walked me back. She was with Victoria what an amazing Nurse in that chaotic environment. There is movement, doing, talking and machines beeping constantly. But the best thing to me is the interns, doctors, nurses and staff was in CARE mode. Staff was wiping, cleaning and discarding. Nurses and interns was questioning to make sure they had what they needed. This hospital made sure to reach out to my wife's Nephrologist and that to me is golden. I see several not so good reviews but the day to day of a Level 1 trauma center might be missing what you might get in the form of hugs and kisses from a regular hospital but they make up for it in ACTION. I'm glad my spouse had this team working on her. Thank you Mount Sinai

I was transferred in ambulance from Insight Chicago former (Mercy Hospital) with cluster seizures. According with what my husband witnessed their service was A+. I was admitted from August 29th to September 4th in 502. I thought these was it for me. In approximately 72 hours I had 15th seizures of which 4 were Tonic Clonic and I was experiencing the worst headache in my entire life. I had the opportunity to being attended by a group Physician and Neuro-team that I will normally expect from Rush University. The level of caring and compassion I received was amazing and my family were amazed. Definitely the new administration have improved the services and the fact that my Doctor and Neurologist arrange the right treatment to stopped the epileptic crisis was a miracle. My husband was very concerned because the hospital reviews are not the best and as usual families care about their loved ones. But from the very moment I had a seizure the response of the team and their knowledge make him feel confident about the treatment. Honestly the hospital is not bad it just overcrowded by patients who aren't having a threatening life emergency and instead to schedule an appointment with their PCP they take the hospital as a joke a patient's who really need to be seen promptly pay the consequences. Thanks Mount Sinai for save my life and been there for me when I thought I was not going to survive. ❤️

Stayed here for nearly a month after being crushed between two cars as a pedestrian. While they are severely understaffed (find me a community hospital that isn't), I only had negative experiences with one nurse and two CNAs - one of which was probably a floater who wasn't actually hospital staff. (For comparison, I noted four great nurses and three great CNAs - the rest were "merely" good. Remember: I saw nearly a month worth of staff.) Because I was non-weight-bearing on both legs, couldn't transfer to a commode, and couldn't even roll to the side without significant help, you can imagine that I needed to be, um, "cleaned up" or otherwise assisted, quite a bit. Though it's a job you couldn't pay me enough to do, I was treated with dignity, patience, and empathy the vast majority of the time. Aforementioned exceptions aside, it was clear that everyone cared, though they couldn't always find the time to give the care they wanted to give to all the patients they had. If you're family and want to know when your loved one needs the most attention and advocacy: weekend evenings and nights, particularly early Sunday morning. That's when staffing issues are the worst and new trauma victims are the greatest. And regarding the building being run-down? Don't worry about that. The staff is what makes or breaks a place, not any peeling paint you might see.

This place is a joke! The people working there do not care about their patients. I took my dad there for a severe nosebleed and they couldn’t stop it for the 16hrs I was there. I was basically his nurse because the nurses were looking at some non related medical stuff on the computer and giggling and laughing. After all those hrs waiting they basically said to go to another hospital because they couldn’t stop the bleeding due to them having no ENT. They said Illinois Masonic Hospital had one at once we got there I had to wait another eight hours just so they can say they didn’t have one either, but at least they stopped the bleeding. Almost everybody in the entire ER was just laughing and talking about non-related medical stuff and ignoring the patients that were there for care. They would only go once in a while to check up on them and it wasn’t even a busy day. Out of respect for people that are there stressing for a loved one and the patient they should be more professional. I mean the vibe in Illinois Masonic Hospital ER was like day and night. They were all business and very professional. The doctors were EXTREMELY condescending towards me when I would ask questions. Some people there seemed like they hated their job. I understand that the job is stressful but at least play it off that you enjoy what you do.

Sinai has never been a leading hospital and in patient services they failed at many levels for me. I came early to my ultrasound appointment, called ahead of time and mentioned I was not insured and did not have an active medical coverage. Yet, was not told I would be denied services due to my inability to pay. So, After 2hrs of wait when my name was called I was told my appointment would be canceled because of those reasons unless I had a tracking number for a medical card application which I mentioned had not yet been completed at least several times. Before I was seen by financial aid they had threatened to cancel my appointment because I was "late" although I arrived at 8:35am 25mins before my appointment. Then was told never mind, you'll be seen. When I saw a financial advisor I was told either I managed to pay on estimate $260 or reschedule. Even though the medical card backtracks 3 months Sinai does not make it an option. My guess they car more about being paid, than the patients they served. Thus, I wont be returning, and do not recommend Sinai. I wanted to give them a chance, but walked out learning why Sinai is not recommended a hospital the staff and system can cause unnecessary wait times, and stress. Hope that helps anyone the reviews speaks for themselves

My tenant has been abusing the system by not paying rents for years. She has several credit card debt judgements and eviction order. Despite she's receiving SS disability from US government, Mt Sinai Hospital submitted Covid rental assistance. Purerto Rican Cultural Center falsely contacted Cook County Sheriff Social Service falsely claiming they are "social workers" and "both children" are disabled. While eviction is stopped, Puerto Rican Cultural Center and Mt Sinai found a new home for the tenant 2 weeks ago. Neighbors stated to police that large truck came twice and moved their belongings and children no longer live there. However, tenant and her daughter lied to Cook County Sheriff as if they still live and they did not find new home. Therefore, Cook County Sheriff assigned a case worker to find a new home for them (although they already found new home and moved.) Neighbors further stated to police that tenant and her boyfriend sneak in at night without children and took appliance. Appliances are not tenants', and I reported police. I requested Mt Sinai Hospital and Puerto Rican Cultural Center to contact Cook County Sheriff that they already found tenant a new home, no resource of Cook County Sheriff should be wasted. They have refused.

I was referred to Mt Sinai by my gynecologist for a pelvic ultrasound. The appointment was made by Access Holy Cross for me. The moment I walked into the main entrance at 11 AM, I was told to go to the 3rd floor. I checked in with the ladies at the counter and was told to sit and wait to be registered. I waited approximately 30 minutes to be registered and then was told to go downstairs to C1200 (financial). Why wasn’t I told this the moment I checked in by the receptionist? I’m a new patient. How was I suppose to know?! I waited 1 hour to be speak with the financial rep. I was missing 1 document, which I do not remember being told I needed it. I called the financial department multiple times before my appointment to confirm I have ALL my documents. No answer. The financial lady then asked me WHY I was scheduled for an ultrasound. I told her, I don’t know. Those are my doctor’s orders. She then told me that I don’t qualify for the charity program (sliding scale), because I was referred for infertility. The program doesn’t cover ultrasounds for infertility. I spent 2 hours to not be seen or qualify for my ultrasound. This hospital needs a BETTER check in system.

I was a recent patient here. The majority of the nurses were inconsiderate.. took at least 30 minutes to respond to the nurse call. I was there for five days and not once did anyone ask if i wanted a towel and bar of soap to wash up. I sweated through sheets and gowns and had to beg them to let me wash up. The cardiologist who did my surgery was the only professional. Upon being released, they didn't even send my medication to the pharmacy and i had to battle with my insurance for a specific heart medication because they doc didn't even check to see if my insurance covered it. The day before my follow up which is today, the hospital called me and said they would not be able to do my echocardiogram because there is a balance of $624 owed for a procedure that hasn't even been done yet..which is complete bs because my insurance said they hadn't even submitted a claim. The hospital said they can't submit a claim until the procedure is done.. My insurance also said that i have more than enough coverage to cover that $624.. so this hospital is full of it.. they have no idea what they are doing or talking about.

This hospital is low grade and falling apart. Please do not send your loved ones here- look for an alternative hospital or else. They have no masks and the nurses in the ER are rude. The one particular nurse said that there are patients in the ER that have been admitted and still waiting on a room for three days. Then when she overheard me telling someone what she definitely told me… she came back into my room an lied directly to my face saying she did not tell me that. So not she is calling me a liar and that I made up this when I have never been to this hospital before ever! This is disgusting behavior and the nurse named “Demi” has no heart to be a nurse and she is a clear liar. She only said she didn’t say it after actually saying it because she was aware I repeated it! This is unacceptable and poor behavior from a skilled ER nurse. Extremely unprofessional!!! The trust has been broken over a lie from a nurse who is supposed to be kind and have empathy!

Terrible, just read the news articles on it. I went for 1 OB appt. and it took 4 hrs! So many high risk women waiting and waiting as they had no other choice due to insurance. I've been an intern there for 1 school year during graduate school (I will not name the dept. but at my interview I saw 2 white mice playing in the kids waiting area eating whatever left over mess the kids would leave). Once I left I found out they had the nasty carpet to cover asbestos which was too expensive to fix. I remember we received a training from some head CPD detective who was so happy they separated the waiting rooms into 2 areas to keep rival gangs away from each other! They had lock downs every now and then so if you were there to eat you'd be stuck there. The cafeteria personal wow, sweet, helpful and their salads are awesome! We'd see a lot of cops pick up some of their delicious salads! I have never gone back and don't plan on it.

Took my son for an ultrasound. They say get there 30 minutes early so you can Register I got there a whole hour early and they still didn’t register me. I asked the ladies who were sitting in the room with me if they’ve been there a while and they all said yes HOW DOES IT TAKE YOU MORE THAN 2 hours to register 6 patients . On top of that the lady in the room registered a patient who just walked in there instead of giving her a number so she can sit down and wait like the rest of us how is that fair to the rest? My appointment was at 3:00pm I got there at 2pm it was 3:15 and I was still not registered for my appointment. On top of it all this isn’t the first time they screw up. A while back I went for a rash to the ER while pregnant they didn’t let me see a doctor and sent me home with Benadryl come to find out I had cholestasis and had to be induced the very next day

I've never been to this hospital before until my dad was admitted. Probably one of the worst hospitals in the Chicagoland area. The rooms are dirty, the hallways look abandoned, you can't find the room the patient is in because there are signs that say "don't use as an entrance" yet people are coming in and out through those same doors. Plus, trying to get through to speak with the nurse in charge of the patient is like pulling teeth. I was placed on hold numerous times and these are not short wait times...its a surprise they even remember I was on hold...this goes for the operators at the front desk as well. They also charge you if you want to park your car in their parking lot to visit a patient (unreal). The nurses and doctors were at least easy to work with but everything else is a joke at this hospital. First and last time I let anyone take my loved ones there.

  • Mara Williamson

My visit was 10 months ago and I'm still dealing with how terrible this hospital is. I went to the ER and was barely treated after an extended and long wait. I was billed at the time and paid my bill. 6 months later I received another bill stating I owed a huge amount of money ($700+ remaining) and after calling them and my insurance company it was determined that I owed this money. The second payment where I was told that I am "completely paid up at this time." Now 10 months later I'm getting called by a collection agency for an amount completely unrelated to the previous two payments that I have made for a third part company that also treated me while I was at the ER. Mt Sinai has no way of checking anything related to this third party. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT THEIR BILLING MESS. DO NOT RISK YOUR CREDIT RATING OVER THEIR INCOMPETENCE!

Patients Beware your personal property it is not safe from Mount Sianis Security Staff . They will take advantage of you and your personal property when you are in there care in there Emergency Room needing Medical attention. This is my 1st personal experience but not the 1st I've heard of this . Stealing from patients obviously is a common practice for Mount Sianis Security staff. I hate to Accuse the hole staff but it did seem like Most not all were not really interested in helping me get my personal property back . As bad as I was feeling I waited over an hour to leave try to retrieve my personal property. So the Name of the Security Officer who took my property and was on file is Officer Hester. I do thank the 1 office telling his supervisor who was hoping I just leave, that I want and I'm not leaving till I spoke to someone to review the cameras.

The service provided by this facility is horrible. Their system is deplorable! I have been attending the optometrist in the Ophthalmology Department since August of 2016 for cataracts. Upon arriving, I was told I needed another referral and was not seen. Even tho, the receptionist spoke to my primary care and they verified my insurance but could not complete the referral today. Each time I attend, there is a $35 charge, I wait an hour and the doctor sees me for 5 minutes and she tells me to return for another visit. The receptionist are rude. I only visit this hospital because my primary care referred me, however I am going to see if I can be referred somewhere else , even if it means my starting the process from the beginning. I don’t recommend this hospital or the hospital clinic to anyone.

Had to take my mom to Financial/ Public Assistance at the 2653 Ogden Ave # 2 Building. We were missing a document that states my mom is an immigrant I asked the lady why they need proof that my mom is an immigrant and why does it matter. She said she she just needed a copy of it to do her paperwork in the computer. I asked her if there’s a place in Chicago where can I go to because we don’t live here.. she said I have to google it. When we came back the lady, she sent us away to the main hospital entrance for the other Financial/ Public assistance to turn it in. She did not want to help us even though we were there like an hour ago! Had to wait an hour to turn in that single piece of paper to the other building.

  • Megan Joseph

I came here for my first ultrasound for my first child back in December 2020. Covid restrictions prevented my partner from joining me, but the ultrasound technician was horrible to me. She ridiculed me for being upset that my partner was missing the moment, and proceeded to tell me that there are worse things happening to others. Like her son who was stuck in another state because of covid restructions, blah blah....not appropriate to tell a patient when they are trying to see their child for the first time. she never let me see my baby on the screen, and only printed 2 stills for me. This place was the worst, I finished out my prenatal care somewhere else.

  • Keenan Durr

It is now 12:49am I am a patient at this hospital. These nurses are terrible. Disrespectful is a understatement. My roommate IV Machine has been going off for the last 30 mins. You think anybody came by to check. I had to use my cell phone to call the hospital to get somebody to come by and take care of it. They do not do rounds. It’s not a great choice of hospital. I have surgery scheduled for this morning. Can’t sleep because you don’t know what’s coming or going. They tend to get a attitude if you actually know what your talking about. This is suppose to be a place to come get help and feel better. Not somewhere where you feel they’ll let you die.

  • Heroic Art

This is the most rudest and worst hospital anyone can ever attend the nurses are extremely disrespectful and rude and if your loved one is in the emergency room oh boy be prepared to get the run around until they waste your time and finally tell you they can’t have visitors rn. I highly suggest you never come here and you go elsewhere for medical services and emergencies. Sinai is the most notorious hospitals in Chicago for the wrong reasons and personally if I do say so myself these nurses need to be replaced with ones that will give patients and people the best quality service possible. These nurses need a extreme attitude adjustment

  • Jeremy Latimore

This is the worse place to receive mental health services. They purposely create policies and procedures that hinder people from getting help. They’re ok with people being endanger as long as they’re not being physically harmful to themselves or others in that moment. They don’t have information on other mental health providers to help people when they cannot. When things become too much, they will tell you that it not a good time to talk to you and dismiss you. They refused to provide me care and offer me appointment although I explained that I am in need of help but due to me not having insurance, or money to offered services.

  • Berkay Doma

My doctor send me there for a required test she can't able to do in her office. I'm uninsured, so I've paid what is required on my pocket which is totally fine. They also assured me this was the whole amount that needs to be paid. Even though I've paid my bill for the doctor and the hospital (i have a receipt for both) up front, they have sent me a new extremely expensive bill which I should not be responsible for since I've already paid. When I call the billing department, they wanted me to FAX them the receipt, I offered to send a scan via email and they would only accept a FAX. Like, do you want me to send it with dinosaurs?

  • Deonte Baker

If I could give this place no stars I would. They put me through hell. The nurses are rude and have no clue how to treat it’s patients. The doctors are arrogant and not polite at all. They have the rudest staff. They have the nastiest food. They don’t set you up with any aftercare once discharged. They make you come up to the hospital and wait for the same rude doctors. Because of this hospital I had to go to another hospital to a third surgery where my leg was almost amputated due to their lack of care for me. I will never step foot into this hospital again. One of the worst experiences of my life.

  • Jasmine Eggleston

HORRIBLE!!!! I REPEAT HORRIBLE!!! do not come here. You'd be better off going to the County. I walked in for a 10am appointment main entrance, it was like a zombie apocalypse, right before they find out the virus is deadly and there is no cure. I walked clean out of there. Rude service staff, being handed a number when I should report to C100 Radiology. There were over 50 people cramped in one small waiting room during COVID-19!! Then they have the audacity to have high co-pays. I'm now going to Northwestern, more expensive but at least better care. They need to close this hospital, period.

  • Heal Thyself Counseling Services

My sister right now is being held against her will. She has asked on multiple occasions to be transferred to another hospital. You all performed a surgery on her that she didn’t need and all of her medical care has been terrible and to top it off a patient just verbally attacked her and the nurses just helped her do it. For me to be on the phone and witness this. I called up to the floor to the nurse for her to get up off her butt and go see about my sister who is currently waiting in the hallway because she is afraid to go in her room.

  • Celene Casarez

Horrible service at emergency, almost a 7 hours wait and still not seen by a Dr. worst part you ask at reception and they basically laugh saying your pushed back and no one even checks on you and symptoms worsen. Only came because my obgyn belongs here and they don’t even tell you how long to be seen so you can receive faster care else where. Plus waiting area was so dirty no one came to clean bathrooms except once and saw two big roaches by the vending machines. I do not recommend coming if you are in deed looking for emergency care.

  • Samantha Jurado

I don’t think this hospital is taking extra precautions during this pandemic time. It’s unbelievable. I was in the ER and I believe there were 2 COVID-19 positive patients in the SAME small waiting room. Shouldn’t they have separated them?. Another note they don’t clean after anything!! I brought a small piece of specimen in a bag and laid it on the table in my room and when I was discharged they didn’t clean up after it was thrown away. Idk if anyone goes to this hospital please be extra careful because they obviously aren’t.

  • osma arz

Honestly the ER is just sad. Somebody needs to have a better control there.. I just came back from it they only took out blood and urine. Waited 3 hours and still haven’t told me nothing. The nurse in the front lil desk said that they have a new system and they are behind. I came back home to rest because I have GAD and not having enough sleep makes it worse. They never told me anything about my blood work or urine. I’m praying I’ll be okay for tomorrow to go to another hospital. This was just even more stressful for me.

  • Patricia Martin

The nurses were amazing not only with my care but with my newborn son. My Doctor who delivered my baby was GREAT she made me laugh and enjoyed seeing the help and me being catered by my son's father and family. The food was delicious and I have had nasty hospital food but not theirs. They also provided a portal bed for those who spent the night with me. Assistance Programs wee there on sight (Wic, Public Aid, etc). The only thing I did not approve of was my son's circumcise was done poor. Overall, I was comfortable

  • Elnara Usmanova

not even the type to write reviews but the worst hospital i been to. i had knee surgery and anytime i would need pain medication or assistance it would take at least 15 minutes. for a nurse to arrive i promise i’m not even over exaggerating. i even heard one of the guy nurses outside my door acknowledging the assistance light and not coming in to check. if you have a choice please don’t come here. i will say the surgeons that took care of me where the sweetest people and so well at their jobs.

  • Jose Lara

Was refused care by a specialist to make an appointment for a podiatrist because I didn't get my initial care there. Even though I have paper work and x-rays from another hospital it was no good. I had to first seek initial care (again) and then make the follow up appointment. What the point of EHRs if these hospitals can't communicate between one another. Their conflict of interest business stuff is getting in the way of me getting appropriate healthcare even though they ARE in my network.

  • Porsha Baker

I delivered my baby here, my experience was great the nurses was nice especially Reem and Chelsea. Ciara was also a wonderful help she made sure the nurses stayed on top of things and provided the great service they did and she also even went above and beyond and provided me with a car seat since I didn’t have one. The hospital even provided free diapers . I left the hospital with so much stuff. If you are looking to deliver your baby here I would definitely recommend you to do so.

  • Amanda Necklace

I need a procedure done. But before the procedure can be done, I needed blood drawn and a specimen to be turned in. Well, I dropped off the specimen in its labeled container. I kept checking my app to see if the results were available. The next business day, I inquired about my specimen. Well, here we are almost two weeks later and I have to drop off another sample. The lab lost my first one. I hate running around rushing to get this done prior to my procedure. Such incompetence!

  • Rodney Reed

This hospital is one the worst hospital you can go to in Chicago, they are super understaffed and you will be waiting forever just to get discharged. Someone needs to make some real changes at that hospital they suppose to care about the people they're taking care but nope it's just a job to most of them. They just come to get paid and go home. I wish I could give them a zero. If you care about your health don't come to mount sinai unless you really have to

  • Belinda Avila

There's no way to enter the ER I had surgery 3 days ago and someone drop me off by the main desk here because This is the hospital where I had the surgery and the clerks ask me to go back outside and walk far distance she was rude knowing I was in pain and did nothing to help she said there's no wheelchair or anyone to take you another person went to find a wheelchair and took me to correct place. Doctors and nurses are very professional and caring.

  • Jack Stanley

Rush Medical Center is such an upgrade. If your ER has to have steel gates outside the ER, then the ER is not for me. The inside was absolutely ghetto, the ceilings had yellow stains seeping from them. This is where all the major trauma causes go, so if you aren’t a victim of a stabbing, shooting, ect. You will not be seen for hours. Was taken in an ambulance to Mt. Sinai, and had to take an Uber to Rush Medical to be seen.

  • Veronica Karma

I just recently had my baby there it’s been the best experience, great nurses they are very caring and kind they love what they do to their patients I had been taken care of by many nurses there all of them great people. I really loved to be there they took good care of me and my baby. Very supportive and helpful staff . I am so thankful to Sinai Hospital for making the best of the experience for me and my family.

  • Nneka Pinkney

I normally have a great experience at Mt Sinai. Nice people, good energy. That all changed when I gave birth to my daughter. I had really rude nurses and they didn't give me the satisfaction of being a new mom. They were giving me snotty looks, ignoring me when I screamed in pain, and the anesthesiologist didn't know what he was doing! I had to get my epidural inserted twice because he didn't insert it right.

Honestly just hearing the recent stories from other patients including my wife has made me so disgusted I would never have associated them with a place meant to heal. The terrible service provided here isn't made up for by anything else. This place needs an update to structure and staff. I felt as if we left with more questions than answers I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here nor will I be going back

If I could I would give this hospital a -5. Customer service is awful. Dirty hospital rooms. There's 11 registration windows (in C1200) with only 3 reps and the room is full of people that are late to their appointments. People take time off from work to come to their appointments and they eventually have to take a whole day because they are not seen at their appointment time. Worst hospital ever.

The pharmacist is so rude! I’ve never talked with someone so immediately angry in my life. I was transferred to the pharmacy from another office to ask if they had my son’s medication in stock and her immediate response was yelling “we don’t give out that information over the phone” repeatedly until I hung up. Maybe she’s over worked or having a bad day, but that was completely unprofessional.

This review is mainly for Kim in dietary. She was amazing and went out of her way to make sure my food was perfect. Of course the hospital doesn’t carry vegan options like they should she made sure everything I had was vegan. I don’t know if she only works in the labor and delivery but I hope every patient especially the ones with special diets gets to have an experience with her.

Today marks a week and a few days since I had a procedure done at Sinai Hospital Chicago. The staff was nothing short of excellent. I was extensively attended to, I was throughly informed, and overall amazingly taken care of. I felt safe under the care of Dr. Pierre Johnson and Dr. Karen, along with the rest of the team. My experience was top tier. Forever Grateful.

I gave birth back in December 2022 the hospital probably needs some remodeling BUT the labor floor I LOVED my nurses except for one lady who was so mean to me. Other than that I loved the staff especially a nurse named Alex she was a sweetheart I will always remember her ❤️ and they also gave me pampers a whole year worth of supplies !!

  • Laura Rios

Brought my mom to the ER because she has chest pain and trouble breathing. We’ve been here since 2PM and she’s only gotten her blood drawn. It’s great to see that they don’t care about an older woman in pain. I’m beyond furious at this point. Thanks for the ‘wonderful’ service. If anything happens to my mom, it’ll be on their conscience.

Physicians' Billing is a joke, billed my insurance for only half my charges, won't answer or return my calls. No one at Mount Sinai has an answer for me and the keep threatening collection but I'm willing and ready to pay. Not even the better business bureau could get a hold of them. Nurses are phenomenal though, love them.

  • Mommy Maid

If you get shot or someone you know gets shot please bring them here. They will do their very best to save your life. Coming from someone that had a loved one shot 15 times and survived here. Some ppl fate is different but Sini did their best and did not give up. Security guards are strict for the safety of the patient. GB

  • Grier Leatha

I have been on hold for 45 minutes waiting to get some patient information. The patient had a surgical procedure and no one has been in her room since three o'clock. When asked about her nurse (Dominque) very arrogantly some one passing in the hall stated, "Dominque left." I pray that this is not their patient care policy.

Our loved one Aunt Myrna is currently battling cancer and and fighting for her life at Mt. Sinai Hospital Chicago. I have to give a big SHOUT OUT to Rebecca Lopez LSW,MSW and PA ADAM, nurse Jeff and to all the docotrs and nurses involved in her care. They go above and beyond. You all are truly heroes of Healthcare!!!

  • Quinswella Dukes

No one answers the phones. I’ve been calling since last week trying to set an appointment waiting 30+ minutes and haven’t be in contact with anyone yet. I was referred by my OBGYN, but between reading the reviews and calling consistently and not reaching anyone...I’m not even sure if I want my service done here.

  • Katherine “KT” Boicourt

I went to the emergency center to be admitted for inpatient. I have a service dog. For the trip she was both labeled and properly behaved. They refused to allow them Into the hospital. Guess it doesn’t matter the emergency, seeking treatment elsewhere. Service dog education is desperately needed by the staff.

  • Ck Frausto

I've been waiting for blood results for a week. Waiting on the Dr. To call me and nothing. I call the clinic 3 times over 4 days period to speak to someone. I just get passed around from girl to girl for 45mnts. And at the end was just told to call back. Good news bad news I just wanna freaking know!!!!..

  • Dena Richmond

Some employees are nice most others rude. Very run down and in need of much repairs. Surgical waiting room very HOT and nasty. Not enough comfortable seating and when trying to get info about your loved one your treated like your bothering them. Overall it wouldn't be a first choice.

  • Nadia Pack

My family just lost their mother, and the security at the emergency room won't allow us in. They are not explaining what is happening. It's 49° outside and they're making us wait outside. The guards inside are laughing at our situation. What gives. These are grieving people.

  • Christina Wagener

The staff at the pharmacy is amazing, they fill my prescriptions quickly and correctly every time. They have medication that other pharmacies have to order and they provide fills same day urgently like no other pharmacy can. The customer service is excellent.

  • Adithya Rao Ananda

The Health checkup was good but the amount of time they take to even send a report back is way too late. The phone number is totally useless and the agents on the call keep directing you to different people and are very unhelpful. Worst customer service ever.

  • Kenneth Allen

I've had horrible experiences at Mt. Sanai. The last one cost me $948, after an ER nurse stole my mastercard/debit card. There are definitely strange things happening here. This is only one example of many other disquieting things that have occurred to me.

  • Omar Victoria

Worst hospital ever! if you want a nice hospital this is not it! Racist staff of nurses will laugh at you when you are in pain! or if you ask for just a cup of ice or a cup of water it takes 3 hours for you to get it! Never again will I willingly go there!

  • Tammara Trice

I unfortunately ended up in the ED today and I was so impressed with the care and concern by the Sinai team! The nurse Keith is top tier! The physicians were great as well! This hospital is definitely in the business of caring and putting patients 1st!

  • Mario Cruz

ER..so just to give you an idea. I got here at 9:00 pm, 12:30 am and still nobody knows what to tell me about my diagnostic. Oh, 12:30 am and counting. Security staff making fun of patients in the waiting room. Honestly last time I visit this place.

  • Bombers Foryou

I walked to er with minor abdomen pain. I was given blood work and a CT scan turned out I had a appendicitis and the surgeons did my surgery the next day. This is a good hospital and wasted no time in doing test. I was in and out within 3 days

  • Charlee C

Please go anywhere but hear idc if you get shot in the head in front of this place get up and go somewhere else. They don’t care about people the hospital the doctors are all terrible. These the plp y’all want us to trust our lives with.

  • Gladys Padilla

This hospital is a disaster. There is utter chaos in their labor and delivery sector. I feel unsafe delivering my baby here and hope to find another solution as I fear my baby would receive inadequate care at this place just as I have.

  • Leonel Valle

Place old, minimal privacy, no experience with new system, they’re unaware they over booked appointments, they don’t communicate with patients properly. It’s loud in the triage! Ultrasound is backed up! They only seem to have 1 tech!

  • Nancy Vallejo

My mom had to go to this ER and it's puzzling to know this place does not have adult diapers, shower chairs for those can't stand on their own to shower, and the nurses were rude when she had an accident on the bed.

  • Brigittè Ky “RaGiN RaVeN CroW” Givens Kimmons

Once upon a time this was a good hsp, but now they ignore their patients. I had surgery, I'm in pain and 3hrs later nothing, and I'm in urine soaked sheets. Nuted come in dy. Ok and never come back !

  • Maria Ferraro

The wait time is way to long came at 8am appointment. Didn't get out till 1pm.Nurse that saw me wasn't wearing gloves.Staff that touches your eyes need to wash they're hands or wear gloves.

  • Marlo Davis

I called Patient information and the guys was very ignorant and rude and disrespectful. Makes me question everything else about this hospital. Poor communication skills VERYY MEAN employee.

  • INDIGO

Asian doctor in ER with purple hair abused me, ripped me purse in half. Security snatched my phone, it was unusable once I got it back and Sinai never resolved the issue nor with my phone.

  • Jessica Wilson

This is the worst hospital they broken my newborn shoulder at birth and just sented her home in pain I will never come back this was the worst experience I had with this hospital

  • Andrew Luna

My 3 time sending me home!!! My arm is broken and they don't seem to care!!! On top of that it's very dirty the chairs have blood stains and there is dust everywhere you turn

  • Jasmine Prince

Was in last week and dr MISDIAGNOSED me told me I have bone cancer and now just yesterday told me I may have fiber dysplasia so they can’t even tell what I have wrong .

  • patricia herrera

I want to Thanks Jacqueline and her 2 students assisting for going beyond their work. They made my Labor easy and took good care of me during my postpartum.

  • Ruelas 69

Great doctors amazing staff. They were very understanding and helpful throughout my girl giving birth and afterwards! Definitely a great hospital.

  • Vanessa Palencia

The fact security has to be at all time high I give 4 stars, but the nurses care and concern is why I don't give it less wonderful staff

  • Teresa Amezcua

Unprofessional nurses and doctors. Not caring about the patients and mistreating them. Rude as well and not wanting to do there jobs

  • Denise Banks-Robinson

My experience with the surgical department was amazing. My experience with Ms.Karen H. was amazing and Dr. Massad saves lives.

  • Vicky Parra
