Incredibly friendly with top amazing customer service, every single time! You won’t go wrong using this location as your go to Mud Bay! Not only are the chances of finding parking in your favor but you will be treated as though you are genuinely welcomed and wanted here! Their employees and management have always been over the top nice and helpful to me and I can be one (oh how do I say) high maintenance time consuming customer. I always especially appreciate when anyone who works in a place I shop (even more so frequently) are not bothered by me and treat me with respect while never seeming to lose their patience or friendly demeanor. It really is the make or break of the entire shopping experience. I know I can always count on these Mud Bayers (that’s a technical term you know! ) to do just that! My recent visit proved once again just how much I like my Broadway Mud Bayers! This was just a couple of days ago on a particularly busy doggy daycare day. I needed to drop in for a quick bag of specific dog food for two of my students and the pack in general was just not their usual dynamic. Even my good kids were acting out of their normal characters. I decided I could not bring either some of all of them in with me and I didn’t want to leave them in the car unattended (obviously!) but I needed to get food. I called the store and one of their awesome friendly non judgy employees named Austin answered the phone. I explained to him that I needed food but I couldn’t leave my pack unattended; he respectfully and diplomatically went through the steps needed for approval from his manager to be able to provide curb side service of product. I ended up speaking with his manager (I’m so sorry I don’t recall her name off the top of my head!) She was very friendly and understanding; she explained to me that this is something they would normally say no to but then ultimately decided that she could make an exception just this once - I think she probably heard the desperation in my voice along with the chatter of the pack in the background haha! Whatever it was that changed her mind, I’m so grateful she did! Seconds later, Austin with all of his awesomeness came outside with a voided receipt to present cost and collect payment, I gave him cash, he ran back inside and minutes later brought out the food, valid receipt, and change! They were both over the top kind, extremely efficient, and I can’t thank them enough! I tried to tip Austin but he let me know that he wasn’t allowed to accept tips and thanked me anyways. I do hope that upper management and whoever the Mud Bay powers that be know how outstanding their employees and management is at this location on Broadway! They deserve to be recognized and rewarded as such! Thank you again for making a particular freaky crazy Friday a little easier and less stressful!

Came in to ask if they had any vegetarian dog food and was abruptly told no, laughed at, and then was given a speech about how dogs are “omnivores” who can’t sustain a healthy lifestyle without meat. I was recommended by my vet to put my dog on a vegetarian diet because of some dietary issues and I didn’t realize simply asking if a product compatible with my dogs needs was carried in store was going to be such an issue. Additionally, in doing more research about the topic myself to ensure that my dog would be healthy, dogs 100% can be healthy on a vegetarian diet, if not healthier than on a meat based diet. If you think about it logically my chihuahua isn’t going to be taking down a cow nor will he be fishing for wild salmon so feeding him that stuff isn’t natural anyway. Mudbay still carries dog food brands that have had controversy over having shrapnel and mold in their food that has killed dogs but won’t carry vegetarian dog food because of health concerns. It’s a shame that this is the only pet food store in walking distance to me.

I feel like Mud Bay has such a wonderful reputation that they don't need a review, but I have to after our experience at this store today. I've visited many locations in the area and the service is always great, but this store in particular <3 I had just picked my dog up from doggy day care and was very upset at the conditions I had seen at the place I left him with. I told the staff my report on this doggy daycare, mostly to vent, but also to warn if they know of customers needing boarding. After telling them what we had just been through, they gave my dog excess treats and just absolutely loved on him, more so than usual. They also gave me a recommendation for a better daycare center for next time. One of the staff gave me a special bandana for him to help with cooling him off, and they also gave me a free sample of doggy ice cream. I tried giving him the ice cream tonight, but he was a little tired and fell asleep with his face in it. Oops! So I inadvertently ended up with my new favorite photo of my dog to share with you all!

Mud Bay is the best pet store I have ever seen. My dog will lead me there on our walks, it’s his favorite too. When I came to Seattle I was having difficulty finding the right food for my dog and Mud Bay came through with flying colors. Then I needed chew toys for a border collie and not only did Mud Bay have chew toys but they have a line of specially made ones that actually last a month or so! (Look for the Sasquatch). I tried giving him the bunny rabbit but it only lasted three days and I was advised to return it, they gave me my $ back and a new Sasquatch. We go through about one Sasquatch a month which I figure is actually pretty good. Then I have to wax rhapsodic about Mud Bay’s return policy. They back Everything they sell, its wonderful! This is one of those rare cases when I absolutely wish I could give more than five stars. I’m going by Mud Bay tomorrow to get more frozen Marrow bones for my border collie. Love this store! ‍

Excellent store, Excellent staff. UPDATE: They did begin to rehang their pride support but some fear it might have only been for pride month, let's hope it continues. Gave them 2 starts now because they still have classist cash policies. Because it's not like the person who created these rules will ever be denied banking due to low credit/bank scores, so they can't even see how deplorable they are being. This is what I said before for posterity, still agree with most of it "However store policy on cash is classist (not everyone has bank debit cards or credit cards). Store policy on prohibiting the displaying of Pride/BLM support is also a trash move on them. Again the workers are top notch and this company is lucky to have compassionate people working here but this new corp façade starting May 2022 is gross. Bad corporation. Bad! I mean like you're in Seattle, in Capital Hill. That's a Bad Mudbay, Bad! ALL THE BEST luck with your new policies (see what I did there?)."

Rude, condescending staff! Unwelcoming and unhelpful when you go in. My boyfriend had a mask on, and as soon as he walked in the woman DEMANDED he put hand sanitizer on in a very rude and condescending way! Even though there was no sign or indication that he needed to do this as he entered. NO other stores are demanding people to use hand sanitizer, just to wear masks! After you leave a store, THEN you sanitize your hands! Anyhoo just very snobby people and they act as if they can't be bothered when you ask questions. He asked if they had more supply of something in the back, which is a reasonable question, and the woman (same one) acted rude and 'put out' that he dare asked that! You guys need to check your attitude by the door! Cuz you don't treat your customers like that!

  • John Wyss

Wow they pack a lot of varied inventory into a small space! The staff were really friendly and helpful and got me set up with a cooling vest for my dog, fetching his correct size from inventory. They always are happy to give out some tasty free treat samples for your doggo too. The location is highly convenient for anyone near Capitol Hill, easy walking distance and right next to stops for public transportation on Broadway. But be mindful that if arriving by car, they just have a handful of parking spots in the lot just on the north side of the store marked for Mud Bay customers. These are often filled up. Not to worry, just go for street parking which is usually available on Pike or Pine.

Sabrina worked out a feeding schedule for my two big cats. One was getting crystals so the vet said his weight needed to come down. Sabrina took time to explain the feeding schedule and even wrote it down for me. This is really good for his health as he had one surgery for the crystals blocking already. The fact that she took that time to educate me resulted in my cat's health improving . I don't know where I'd be without my cat so his health is very important to me. I can't thank her enough! The other cat isn't having health problems like the oldest but the diet seems to be helping him too. So I consider this preventative care. Thank you, Sabrina you're a rock star!

  • Alycia Stallard

This is my favorite pet food store!!! I love how friendly everyone is! Everyone loves your animals here! Dog, cat or rabbit bring em in! Everything they sell is top notch healthy for your fur babies. And they know what they are talking about! My baby has been much healthier since one of the staff suggested I lower his crude fat content. Birthdays are celebrated here! You can bring your baby by on their birthday and get a free goodie! We got doggie ice cream!!! You just can't do much better than this! We always feel welcome and I know that they truly care about my baby.

  • Mary Kate Hall

Mud Bay employees are the most kind and helpful people ever! We had tried several different foods for our dog while trying to diagnose a health issue, and we had to return a few opened bags of food that didn’t work out for him. They were able to donate the unused food and even get us a refund for some of the bags, too. We have been to several different locations of Mud Bay and have never had a bad experience here. They always take the time to help us and make sure we are getting high quality food and products for our dog. WAY better than those big box pet store chains!

  • Mary Carney

My dog and I love Mud Bay. The employees greet us so warmly, and always have great product recommendations. My dog loves coming here, and he'll preemptively sit for any employee he sees in anticipation of a treat. They will always ask before they give your pup something, but how could I say no when he sits so nicely? They have a great range of quality products, and have treats and toys for dogs of all sizes. I can't really speak to their cat or bird products, but I do have a cat lady friend that refuses to shop anywhere else.

  • Perry Low

The ONLY PLACE where I can get a broad selection the right treats to pamper my ginger-puddy-angel … The Bob. They have plenty of samples on-hand because all cat-people know how particular felines can be - finicky even. If you have a hard-to-please puddy … No problem! Because the Mudbay staff are passionate about pleasing our puddys and they are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very patient - accommodating even. So I left with my arms FULL of purrfect treats fur my pampered puddy - exit stage left!

  • B G (Counsel)

Tons of treat, toy and food options for pets. Our older cocker spaniel has some tough food allergies, specifically to wheat and beef, but we are able to find both treats and food that fit his diet here, and I feel like the store has a whole lot more to offer than our usual errands there. I must say the staff is always fantastic... friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and they always show my pupper love even if he's being a brat as he sometimes tends to be. So glad to have them in my neighborhood!

  • Steven Rugg

Mud Bay is by far the best pet store I've ever been to. Caring, compassionate employees who genuinely live animals work here. There isn't a better pet store in all of the PNW. Mud Bay strives to provide everything you need for your furry friend. They have every food you could possibly feed your cat or dog, bird, fish, or rabbit. Mud Bay is such a wonderful store they will give almost expired and donated dog and cat food away for free to people in need. Go Mud Bay!

  • Mint Teacups

The staff here took 20 minutes out of their day to identify the lowest phosphorous highest calorie foods in the store for my tiny elderly CKD kitty. Kitty has taken well to the first one I tried, a kitten food, and I am comforted to have appealing options that work as well as anything can with her health conditions. When I pick a diet she likes I'll run it by my vet but I'm glad to have a promising start on nursing her back up to maybe weighing 6 whole pounds

  • Jacob Miner

Mud Bay specializes in healthy, all natural pet products. We buy all of our cat food and litter at Mud Bay.  They have a huge selection of pet supplies (stuff for dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits). The staff are super friendly and always help us find the right product.  They also have tons of locally-made products (the catnip we buy is grown in WA).

  • F S

I come here offten for the bunny cookies and the litter pellats, not a big selection for bunnies but good selection for cats and dogs. Also has a little something for the bird family. Not alot of free parking. Theres a paid lot next to it. A QFC, many restaurants; might I suggest making it a shopping day in Capitol Hill. Otherwise more for the locals.

  • Samantha Rodriguez

Just adore this place, I have to edit my 5 star review to include words this time!!! I JUST LOVE COMING HERE. Best Mudbay hands down ( although I just found a new mudbay in Lynnwood off 196th that looked GORGEOUS ) friendly staff who don’t rush you! Helpful and just overall awesome. Appreciate all the staff st this location — you all make it amazing.

  • Dustin Brown

I recently got a new puppy and we have made this Mud Bay our only stop for everything we need. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable about their products. You can tell they really care about your pet. I highly recommend coming to this location if you need anything or even have questions about the care of your pet or the products they recommend!

  • Max Urban

The employees here were very nice, friendly and incredibly helpful. I was looking for a solution to an issue I was experiencing with my pet. The person who helped me walked me through a bunch of suggestions. I bought the thing they recommend and it worked perfectly. I wasn't expecting such a quick and easy solution. I highly recommend coming here.

  • Aaron Carasco

Wow the person at mud bay coached me through wet food with my puppy and I was taking with them about having to afford redoing her shots (since the person I got her from went MIA) and was looking at a better fitting harness and kinda said i couldn’t afford it and they gave me her food for free!!!! Very helpful and generous

  • Rohit Yadav

This place is great. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgable. I am first time puppy owner and they were able to quickly give great recommendations on kibble and harness and meat free treats. I reached close to their closing time but Amanda was able to quickly help me and get me everything I wanted. Fun trip !

  • Lucas Atencio

Nice store on Capitol Hill. Parking isn't so bad, it is leaving that can be a pain. If you can walk you will be better off. The store has everything you might need and stuff that you don't but you pet will love. My dog especially loves the cod skin treats. We get a nice dog food for her allergies. No more scratching.

  • Kenneth Robinson

They have a wide variety of heavy duty, almost indestructible toys for my German Shepherd. He loves the special ball we got there 3 years ago. He has not been able to make a scratch on it even though he has tried every day. I thought $17 was crazy expensive but as long as we don't lose it, it should last forever.

  • Ethan Harlig

The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful! They gave me great suggestions on items to get for my new kitten and spent lots of time making sure that I was happy with what I got. They also gave me a handwritten card thanking me for shopping with them for my kitten and some literature about how to raise a cat!

  • Craig Hordlow

The Mud Bay on Broadway (Harvard Market) turned my dog into a shopping addict. Try taking him for a walk, and half the time he'll lead you the 7 blocks to Mud Bay, where he then walks up every aisle sniffing so he can indicate what he wants to buy. OH, and it's a social gathering spot for dogs as well.

  • Natsuda Namwises

This specific location was not as attentive as the other locations that I've been to. The staff mostly stood and chatted with each other and only offered help when directly asked. Still, once I got their attention, they were friendly and knowledgeable like how I'm used to Mud Bay staff being.

  • Lauren S

Love this place! I always go to Mud Bay to grab dog food and dog treats, the miscellaneous / mic and max treats are awesome! My dog loves the cheese flavored ones. The staff is very knowledgeable, be sure to ask them any questions you have and they will do everything they can to help you!

  • Cameron Kaye

I went here to get some stuff to make sure my friend is able to dogsit easily. I was immediately greeted and was given suggestions for dog harnesses. (I cannot put them on to save my life, but the wonder walker that i was suggested is so easy). Overall was a very pleasant experience

  • Melissa Le

Got my dog CBD oil here which helped decrease his fearfulness and reactivity during grooming. The staff are always very knowledgeable about food types and pretty much anything animal related. Very approachable staff. My dog likes coming here partially because he gets treats.

  • Alex Wolf

Best pet store (chain) in town. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, the items they sell are curated and nice. There are signs everywhere explaining toy categories so you can find what works for your pet and get many different types of it. Overall, a great place!

  • Mike Ramirez

Great people and great service. Always willing to help you and your pet find exactly what you need. Very knowledgeable as well and can easily recommend great products in just about anything to make sure your pet has exactly what they need and properly taken care of.

  • Nicole Ocampo

I went to the Mud Bay on Broadway today and was looking for a treat to bring home to Lilith. The employee helped me find the perfect size bone and when she rang me up she told me it was free. To my amazement she didn't charge me anything. Wow what a great surprise.

  • Timothy Chase

The staff is friendly, but I often have difficulty getting pallets of Wellness wet catfood in specific flavors. Fortunately there is another Mud Bay about half a mile away, so I can sometimes get what I want at one store when the other doesn't have it.

  • Seth T

Mud Bay is an awesome pet store. The have tons of premium food and toys and will let you sample things out. It is a fantastic place and in my opinion much better than the big box pet stores. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable as well.

  • Megan Lovett

The staff is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a ton of variety of high quality pet foods and treats, and lots of very nice supplies and toys. My cat loves everything I've gotten here, and their prices are very reasonable too.

  • Juanita Johnson

I Love Mudbay. I bought Swheat mulicat litter 25 pound bag for 23.99. All other stores sell it for between 38 to 44 bucks. I'm talking, Petco, Walmart, Amazon, ect. Such savings. I go there All the time for quality brands and affordable prices.

  • CHASE TV

Abbie helped me find new treats and flea items for pets. Store was clean and everyone was very friendly. My dog got love from the staff working and some treats in store. I also got a sample of the treat of the week to take home to my cat.

  • Kathryn Martini

Great selection of healthy pet foods and toys. They are very generous and if what you get doesn't work for your pet you can return it and they donate it. They also support Seattle Humane society with generous coupons when you adopt.

  • Jonathan Arevalo

I let my dog do the shopping for his toy as usual. He was able to locate a three pack of tennis balls for five bucks and we were out the door in a few minutes. They also gave me a coupon for $10 off as I was the first time customer

  • Anna Fung

They have everything that our cat needs -- staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Their return policy is also generous, and we've been able to find our favorite treats and litter for our kitty after a bit of trial and error.

  • Anthony Lewis

This is the store for you if you love your pets and are looking to spoil them. I shop here even though chewy isn't a terrible choice. It'sa good experience and the employee/owners (co-op?)seem to know a thing or two you might not.

  • Meg Durcan

Whether it was helping pick out options to heal my pup’s leg, fitting him for a harness or picking out a snack to calm his stomach, the staff at this location went above and beyond! Don’t miss out on the fill your own treat boxes.

  • Cynthia Blondeel

They almost always have what I need. They oddly tend to stop selling things randomly, and for whatever reason it tends to be what my cats are eating at the time. It is bad luck, for sure, but I wish it didn't happen so often.

  • Lauren 'Wren' Strange

One of the greatest things about Mud Bay is that you know everything has been specifically hand picked to be the best out there for your pet. I have a kitty who has never been disappointed with anything we've brought home!

  • Tat Hampton

Good quality cat food available for reasonable prices. They told me that if my cat didn't like a wet food, we could bring it back for a refund whether open or not (which can be handy if your cat is as picky as mine can be)

  • Zach Mabe

Mudbay is a great store. Friendly staff and they care about your business with great policies like their super low hassle returns. You can return an opened bag of treats without a receipt for store credit, which is great.

  • MJ Seattle

This is the best , has the most knowledgeable people, friendliest, better than family I wouldn't buy from anyone else. Thank you Mud Bay, My granddog, Waffles and me give you 5 stars …

  • Dennis Kangas

Always a friendly place to shop with a wide variety of quality pet food. You won't find Friskies here but you will obscure brands such as Orijen which only uses fresh ingredients and they never outsource production.

  • Juicy Jones

I really couldn't ask for more from a pet store. They're friendly, close by the house, stock the best products, keep reasonable hours, the store is clean, our little Sadie is always welcome and they love her.

  • Samantha Novak

The team at Mud Bay is awesome! Not only are they friendly and welcoming; they also take the time to make sure my questions are answered, and that I walk out with the best products to fit my pet's needs.

  • A F (Pochemu2)

This pet store is a friendly pet food shop. Imagine if a dog-park was turned into a store where your neighbors stop by to swap stories, advice and debrief over feeding challenges. A neighborhood staple.

  • Ted M

Excellent local pet shop with a huge selection of food and pet accessories. Their prices are better than Amazon or any online and the service is always great. This is my ultimate pet shop for my pets.

  • Emma Fine

Great employees that are very knowledgeable of their products as well of animals in general. Really great atmosphere too, inviting. Love this store; it's the only place I go for all my kitties needs

  • Mark

Thank you Sasha for the amazing dog treats for my husky! He’s now enjoying them whole heartedly. Great suggestions with the rings! It’s not destroyed in 30 minutes. It’s challenging for him!

The staff there was super nice and helpful. Showed me how to put the thundervest on my dog and even helped play test a toy with my dog. Couldn't be gappier with the quality of service.

  • amy k

Ok if you have dogs I guess. When I was there recently the token cat section was mostly emptied out. Not cool to ignore half your potential customers. I see no reason to return.

  • Mika Carvalho

It has a great selection of pet products. Service is great, everybody that works there is friendly and helpful. My pups love going there, since usually they get free treats.

  • Brandon Connelly

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, amazing variety of products tastefully arranged, anything you may want for your pet and even things you didn't know existed!
