I’d give this Petco location a zero star if I could. I’ve been here twice and both times, I have had unpleasant interactions with an unhelpful, negative, and passive aggressive staff member. The second time I came here was for a Vetco visit. Without providing a reasonable explanation, the Vet, “Dr. Brewer,” refused to give my puppy his second round of vaccines even though it had been 3 weeks and 4 days since he had received his first round of vaccines. All the vets I had consulted and gone to over the years for my other dog had said the minimum wait period is 3 weeks so I thought it’d be fine. Nope. Brewer was set on getting their way rather than relying on science and facts. Brewer came across as stubborn, rigid, and incompetent. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brewer went to a vet school in the Caribbean. Didn’t even have the courtesy to tell me to my face but used their staff to relay the message back and forth when it would’ve been quicker to just talk to me directly. The clinic was empty. There was no other customer. Stop acting like a diva. Second, the staff was painfully incompetent. They insisted on giving me misinformation based on what I can only describe as quack science. For example, they insisted that I overdose my puppy on dewormers when he already is on dewormers (i.e., telling me Heartgard doesn’t protect against worms and that I should give my dog additional dewormer; they also said it’d be perfectly fine to walk my dog on the street in the city after he had one round of vaccination). I had to repeatedly correct them and say “Heartgard contains pyrantel that covers against hook and roundworms” and “Nope. A puppy shouldn’t be walking on the sidewalk if it only had one round of vaccines.” I felt my braincells dying just talking to them. I would go elsewhere because this vet and their staff are incompetent, misinformed, and lazy. No compassion for the patient.
I gotta say, even though the staff may come across as a little Burning Man, and can be hard to track down (but what industry is not short-staffed these days), the staff is nonetheless fantastic. They are extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Just by speaking with them, you can tell they care not only for their customers, but for your animal companions, as well. Petco probably does not pay them enough (just a guess, there!), but they will go out of their way to answer your questions and acknowledge your concerns. I have been going to this Petco for as long as I have lived in the U-District, which is quite a while. Not too long ago, a staff member, at the check-out, explained the benefits of Petco's Vital Care. This is a good program if you shop there frequently. The staff member, although probably compelled to sell this service by the suits in their clueless ivory tower, nevertheless did so with skill and ease, actually explaining the benefits of the the program, succinctly and without pushing it. I ended up signing up for the service, and it was beneficial for my little cat. Recently, I had to cancel this service. There is a huge cat-shaped hole in my heart now, as Mia the beloved cat is gone. Fate is cruel. I miss her everyday, and it's kind of hard to write this review. When I contacted customer support to cancel the Vital Care service, they informed me that the obligation was to sign up for the service for a year. However, due to my loss, Petco kindly and compassionately waived this requirement for me. I still have my turtles, and I will still shop for my friends' cats, and so I will still visit this Petco as long as I am in the U-District. They are a fine team here, and the company does truly seem to care. Thank you.
I entered the store with two important needs for my elderly cat Margrete (Mar-GRETT-ah--she's a Norwegian Forest Cat that the shelter named Queen for her regal appearance, so I gave her the name of the Queen who united the crowns of Norway, Sweden and Denmark in 1394). Her weight has been declining because she eats what satisfies her from a volume standpoint and stops, so I need to get the maximum calorie punch from every ounce and still satisfy her need for variety. Young associate Ian was set up at the door to welcome customers and his cat likes a frozen food JustforCats which has 35 calories per ounce so we solved that one immediately, along with fish oil to jazz up other foods in the rotation I feed her. Secondly, I needed alternative litters because she's stopped doing her BM's in the litterbox though she urinates there, and Ian went with me to show what was available. It's been awhile since I've been to Petco and I remember this level of personal service before, and I was VERY pleased to receive it again this time, also from Michelle at checkout, and the manager helped me carry the things out to my car. I want to support brick-and-mortar and these folks give me every reason to do that at this Petco. I'll add to this that subsequent experiences have been equally excellent, most recently when associate Kurt helped me on the phone about a particular cat food I needed to deal with the anorexia and went to check availability, confirmed there was a good supply, so I was able to make the trip for it the next day very efficiently
Terrible customer service. I live and work in the neighborhood; so I tend to shop several days out of the week in stores making me a more frequent visitor than most. Which is why I was shocked after getting to know some of the workers pretty well that I was met with attitude and rejection one afternoon from one named Chauncey. He wouldn’t allow me to return dog food that made my dog sick even though I had the receipt, app showing purchase and even the bag was still completely full. I called and spoke to the Petco 1-800 number and they told me that the way their returns work especially with all I had present the worker should have never stated I couldn’t return following their policy of 100% of the items can be returned no matter what, but that the ‘computer system’ has never faulted nor told a worker they weren’t allowed to return. Especially without even taking my ID and entering Pals Rewards account number. I hate to post something like this but it really embarrassed me and made me feel like I wasn’t safe to go back to the store because of how rude and short he was with me. My dog is 9 months old and she and I have been going there since she was 3-4 months damn near everyday. Smh. Since the altercation we haven’t been back yet - not to mention Petco follows me on Instagram as well as partnered with me to set up my dog a profile on Instagram - I am so upset - my dog has the worst stomach allergies as well as in heat so my worry was quickly explained by the vet that she isn’t picky just in heat. Smh
Massive shoutout to Kurt who works at the U-District Petco! He is fantastic! In every interaction I have had with him he has been exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I have asked him many questions as a new meowma to Multi, a special needs, elderly cat my family rescued that I care for. Multi has feline AIDS and is also missing all of her teeth after dental surgery. She is the sweetest baby. Kurt always listens and addresses all of my concerns with great patience, enthusiasm, and skill. It makes me so happy and want to keep returning to the store! I also have to give a special thank you to Liz. I was worried Multi had fleas and she answered a ton of my questions over the phone with wisdom, kindness, and deftness. She was very understanding and patient as I get extra worried about Multi due to her fragile health condition. When I checked out of the store today Ian was at the register. He was super welcoming from the moment I walked in, helped me set up a Vital Care account with Kurt, and made sure my entire experience was wonderful. He also told me that I could potentially teach Multi to communicate via buttons, very cool to know. I can’t say enough about how heartwarming and helpful my experiences have been with Kurt, Liz, and Ian! The U-District Petco has incredible employees who deserve special recognition - and promotions. Thank you for being such awesome sources of support for me and Multi! I am excited to visit again soon and have shared a picture of her here for everyone to see!
Went in the past Saturday for our puppy's grooming session with Victoria. We had an early appointment at 8.15 and there weren't any other pets when we went in. About 2 hours later we got a call letting us know that he was ready to pick up. We immediately realized something was wrong as our puppy was shedding too much. On going back in and bringing it to Victoria's attention she insisted this was entirely expected and he would shed for another day or so. I enquired with her if she had given Snoopy a shower after his haircut or had even been brushed him to get the excess hair cleaned up. As even at other grooming salons I'd availed of - be it, PetSmart, dogtopia etc. This same issue never came up. She was dismissive about my concerns and I had no option but to head back home and give him another shower to help clean him up. Turned out that Victoria and her team had neither bothered to give our pup a shower after his haircut nor brush away the extra hair. Additionally they were also in complete denial of the expected service and were outright dismissive of our concerns. I wouldn't recommend this particular location's grooming services nor this particular grooming specialist as it felt like a straight $90 gone down the drain. Really disappointing.
The UW area Petco is great! Everyone is masked and sound social distancing practices are in full effect. They keep a tub of crickets in front, so when you come in and ask for "20 large" or whatever, they bag 'em up and hand them right to you. They have a large selection of fish, aquariums, and aquatic plants. They've got turtles and a few reptiles. I wish they had a little more in the way of bird toys & supplies. The selection there was kinda sparse. Everything was on sale tho! And of course they've got tons of stuff for cats and dogs! Including a whole section of raw, unprocessed, refrigerated dog food; high end, gourmet style noms for your pups. Parking is free and easy, but a little bit odd. There are 4 disability accessible spots right in front, and then the main Petco parking lot is across a side street. Seems adequate tho.
Dingy and dirty on the outside and inside. Some sections of shelves were pretty bare. Only saw one employee (at the register). Prices are not accurately marked. Nicely pointed out a price discrepancy with a clearance item to the register employee and they let me know they were annoyed about it. There was a big 30% off sign on another item and the discount didn't show at the register. When I asked the employee about it their response, "depends on what your phone number says". Which is a really weird way to say it's applied when you use your rewards card (which I have). The nicest thing about the store is the other pet owners. Did not use the spa services. After my experience with the one employee, I'd be scared to leave my dog at that place.
I live right next to this Petco so I visit often. Interactions with staff are generally positive and a few standout as super friendly. Sadly it seems several of their really wonderful staff left, but it's still a decent location. However, the other day I went and there was a short asian girl working the front who was very blunt and had that "I don't want to be here, and you are bothering me with your presence" attitude. I would advise management to re-train this girl if she is going to be a cashier, or put her somewhere non-customer-facing. I worked in retail for 7 years...yes, some days suck and you have no energy...but treating a customer who has done absolutely nothing to deserve that attitude is not okay.
I adopted my cat thanks to this store. They displayed cats from a shelter called Rescue Every Dog or R.E.D. The manager at that time knew my cat very well. He treated her with care and provided me much needed insight into her personality. He said that she was shy, but she requires you to reach out and pet her anyway, then she’ll start enjoying it. At first this advice sounded counterintuitive, like you should leave a shy cat alone, but then I saw him demonstrate on the cat I adopted. He was correct. She loved his reaching out to her while she was hiding and few people have ever made her feel so comfortable. The tower I bought lasted for years and she loved it until I couldn’t stand looking at it any longer.
The groomers here are super kind and considerate. They are often overbooked but they do their best when taking care of our dogs. My standard poodle gets great grooming from Tabby who has the skills and patience to deal with my neurotic pup. Because I attempted to groom my poodle myself weeks before this appointment, Tabby had to take off more hair than I would prefer but due to my dog's matting, it had to be done. I still think my dog looks pretty good! Plus all the groomers there, gave me great tips on how to make sure my dog doesn't get matted in the future . Corporate chain, the staff here are probably under staffed and overworked but do their best to be kind and respectful to customers and our pets.
They kind of rule the pet shop market exclusively so there isnt much to compare and contrast too but it works, why not. The only real complaint I have is, the more exotic animals that you might want to purchase you'll have to call Habib on 65th and Brooklyn. I guess he travels to various parts of the Saharan Desert a few times a year and can pretty much fill any order as long as he can squirrel it away in his underpants when flying back. I got a really rare bird very hard to find had I known it was on the endangerd species list I probably wouldn't of got it bit it sure makes for a great decorative piece in my living room. After he died I got him stuffed and its the best thing ive ever done.
First time customer at the grooming salon. The staff was sweet spoken, and it seemed as though they had good intentions. I paid before taking my dog, out of courtesy, but I was disappointed with the results. I purchased a full-service bath, which includes a 15 minute brush out. I also paid for a “Pick 3 Spa Package,” to include an extra 15 minutes of brushing. My total after a 20% discount and gratuity was $53.80. After seeing how hairy my dog remained, I combed only one side of her neck to collect so much hair! It’s is flying all over as I pet her. After 30 minutes of brushing a small short-haired dog? I feel scammed.
I just recently got 4 fish, and the place I got it from is this cute little local place, but they're always wayy to busy to help. I started going to this Petco for all of my needs, and this place is like a Costco for pets. They have everything! On top of that, their staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I can literally call anytime with questions about water treatment, parasite treatments or fish behavior. Mira was particularly helpful. She answers all of my questions with passion and positivity. Definitely going to this place from now on. Thanks Mira! Hope I'm spelling that right.
I typically enjoy going here to get my pet supplies and they have amazing workers but the last time I went there I had horrible customer service. The cashier was rude when I asked about a price reduction sticker on an item they put on themselves. Then when I wanted a price adjustment directly from the Petco app he made a remark with a tone as if I was asking for the impossible. I've done this multiple times at various Petco's and I don't understand what's wrong with wanting to save money on items for my pet. Overall my experience was bad with Brian (name from receipt).
when I went to by my kitty the normal food she eats the package had been changed again so it did not look the same and it wasn't clear if the food was using the same formula and I did not want to have her digestive system to freak out, so that left me with a lot of questions. The sales associate was extremely helpful in finding a better food to get for her, she answered all of my questions and shared some personal experiences she had with feeding her cats with the food she was recommending for me to get. Each employee has very good working knowledge of each product.
second to last time i was there i got a coupon for $5 off my next purchase of $25 or more, but they print the coupon on the receipt. everyone throws receipts away. So i went in and asked if i could still get my $5 off discount. they should be able to see my last purchase and even reprint a receipt to confirm. But was bluntly, rudely, and happily told NO. And within the time i have had my petco "rewards" card and all the money i have spent with this corporation i have received 0 "rewards". This is the last time i will shop here.
I needed a plastic lid for my cat food cans. After brushing away the suggestion of choosing the silicone model I located the harder plastic version I know so well. The checkout is conveniently located at the front of the store, near the exit, as one would expect. I was able to exchange digital representation of my cash via a credit card, quite handy. The human behind the counter was affable and agreeable to our transaction. At the conclusion of our interaction I exited the premises to go find a burger and a beer.
Associates working in the aquatics section can be pretty uppity and pretend to know more about fishkeeping than they actually do. They refused to sell me some neon tetras on the basis that bettas can absolutely never be a part of community tanks. My betta is extremely docile and doesn't even flare for mirrors. He doesn't touch shrimp or snails and lives in a planted 20 long. Moreover, associates have tried to convince me to buy their nonaquatic plants for my aquariums. Such a rip off. Not returning here.
Well, what can I say about Petco that isn't immediately obvious to anybody who has ever had to make an appointment to meet with an urban other than legally licenced pharmaceutical broker? Probably not much, but for the rest of us who have never needed to acquire street medicine, I'll just say this: If you are wondering where your "guy" is going to ask you to meet him for your first appointment, it will probably be this parking lot. Hopefully he doesnt make you wait for more than an hour or two. Enjoy!
Typical pet store with groomers and a clinic attached. Staff has been 50/50 some employees are helpful and nice, others seem they would rather not be there. Groomers have done great jobs with my dogs and have been helpful in furthering my kiddos education on the importance of brushing and hair care of a doodle. Parking there is rough and extremely limited but they do have an explanation at the counter on how to get free parking at the lot across the street so possibly call ahead for that information.
Not only does this petco have a strangely limited selection of less fancy cat food, but the employees have almost no idea what they are doing. Bought a flea spray here and was promised there was no difference between the branded cat and dog versions. Am I glad I did my homework later before applying it to our pets! They are completely different, and the dog one is NOT safe for cats. If you don't know, just say so! But how could you mislead a customer in a way that could have hurt a pet, boo!!
Petco is a pretty good place to shop for pretty supplies. They've improved drastically over the past two years. They seem to be consistently well stocked and the staff there seen to be generally knowledgeable and helpful. This store can be a little difficult to get to being right off of the I-5 on 45th Ave NE, if you're coming from the east on 45th or north on Roosevelt then it's better to turn on Roosevelt and then right on 43rd to 8th then right again, approaching it from the south.
Worst experience ever So we took our dog to get a haircut. We were all excited to see her new look. But when I went to the store, I had a panic attack. They had told me that they had cut my dogs stomach. And the groomer didn’t even have the guts to speak to me after this horrific incident. She just left like nothing happened. She has never looked this bad. It breaks my heart to think that my dog was screaming and I couldn’t help her. I’m never coming back. This ruined my day
Never had a bad experience here, personally. We've worked with their groomers on our dogs for the whole time we've had them, and while apparently they had some issues early on one of their groomers was willing to keep working with them until they were great. Or at least he lies and tells us so! Either way, I've never had anything bug a fast, pleasant, polite experience from the people here. Between grooming and vetco, they've addressed all the needs I could ask them for.
I don't normally shop at Petco for my dog, but sometimes I'll stop by here when I forget to order from another online retailer. Their pricing is similar to much smaller shops (more expensive) and they often don't carry much inventory for such a large store and are always sold out of the particular dog food I feed my dog. I'm only giving this store 4 stars because the staff are friendly and helpful. Other than that, I'd rather buy products for my pet somewhere else.
We had a bad experience with Petco grooming at this location: I picked up my dog, and he had a bleeding cut on his face. The groomer told me that she accidentally punctured his face with scissors. Never again. Also, this Petco store has closed at different hours more than once. I had to leave, at the door, after having driven there, thinking that they would respect their regular hours. It was different reasons each time, I don't remember the reasons right now.
I'm sorry but this petco was probably one of the worst I've ever been in. There were so many outs on the floor in every department making it look like the store was deserted. There was a dead beatra fish on display and no staff on the floor expect for the cashier who was in his phone sitting on a stool the entire time. When we came up to purchase our cat supplies and it was like we had interrupted him. I worked for petco for 7 years and this makes me so sad.
I normally avoid Petco on principal but there’s been a few times a trip has been necessary. Every time I’m in there it is far cleaner than other Petcos I’ve been in and the animals have typically seemed happy and healthy. Last time I went in was to have my tank water tested and Kurt went above and beyond with me to try to figure it what was going on. Very patient, very knowledgeable. Will absolutely go back if I can get Kurts help on my enigma tank.
I scheduled a training session and on the morning of the session it was canceled because the trainer had a sore throat. They say the trainer would reach out to me, a week goes by no trainer called me. I called the store on three separate occasions and finally I get in touch with a trainer. They say that we can do the session for the upcoming Sunday. I show up that Sunday and the trainer does not come. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend.
My dog is not traumatized when i pick him up after grooming. I don't care about the haircut as much as how my dog is after. At the shop on 45th he is excited and happy when I pick him up. They do fine with his nails and express.. I've gone back numerous times. I did not like the Petco groomer on 15th. My dog was a nervous wreck after his visit there both times. I have found their pricing is inconsistent and not very straightforward at times.
I called about an item in stock and was told by Michelle there was a few left and to come down and get them. 30 minutes later I show up and get told they all just sold. You tell people to come for something and in just 30 minutes sell it to someone else? How rude!!! Just blatant disregard for customers time and money. Gas is not cheap. Do I get compensated for you wasting my time and money??? I doubt it. Never coming back here again.
The way they keep their fish is depressing and abusive. Some fish are literally kept in cups while others live in crowded 5 gallon tanks with 50-75 other fish. Responsible fish stores recommend 10-20 gallon tanks with 10-15 at most. Fish should never be kept in cups for more than 10 minutes while cleaning a tank. I was really disappointed in PetCo and will never support their business will they continue to have inhumane practices.
A couple of the products I'd come in to find were not on the shelves; in fact, a lot of the shelves were looking very sparse. I know that you all are having supply-chain issues so am trying to be patient, and the young man who checked me out explained that I could order on line and then pick up so as to track availability of my kitty's faves (and mine, the Dr. Elsey litter).
Considering it was extremely cold recently & I like to be active with my dog, she needed a coat. She's technically size 2-3X but she isn't extremely large just typical size for a lab. As well as their dog treats section does not have many options as typical Pet Stores. If you're like me and like to spoil you're dog with good stuff I would consider a different pet store.
They are housing guinea pigs in hamster-sized cages for weeks on end. Absolutely unacceptable to put these pets in such tiny boxes. The store has plenty of room for you to give them a few more square feet to move around. I might switch to only Petsmart since they at least have cages in which the piggies don’t have to jump over their house to reach the water.
saw an employee at this location pick up a mouse by its tail. also, petco and petsmart employees arent required to know anything about animal care, so if you're looking for pet advice i'd recommend doing research on your own time. all animals, especially rodents and small animals, need a lot more care and attention than what's provided in these pet stores.
My friend asked me to take her dog to this location as she was too ill to do so, Zeke regularly gets groomed here. The folks are very helpful and good with Zeke. My only complaint is that there is not enough parking spots and it's hard to get to and out of their parking lot. Zeke did look very nice and happy afterwards so it's worth the effort.
I tried a new groomer since Joey (who is always awesome) wasn’t available and will never return to this location or Petco for grooming services. Forest did a terrible job grooming my dog and was very rude. I’m not sure they have much experience with dog grooming. I’ve switched to Earthwise in Fremont and the quality and care is night and day.
Went in toward closing but employees where still very helpful and pointed me in the direction of what I was looking for. I was also picking up an online order and the process was very simple, easy and the order was ready to go per the email I received. There aren't alot of pet supply shops in Seattle but the experience here was great.
Great place for basics for your pets, very knowledgeable staff with an interest in the well-being of the animals. Rather commercial, expensive, and cookie-cutter atmosphere, but clean, well-organized and good-advice and community partnerships abound here (partners with local shelters for adoptable animals).
Want to thank Joey today for his extra efforts in getting my dog out by certain time. ( Gizmo looked fantastic) Had to reschedule my original appt. and thank you to nice girl yesterday for xtra efforts in getting me rescheduled for today. You guys are appreciated. Location is the 45th Seattle.
Every fish l have bought here has died within a week. Not so for other stores. And the staff whether for aquariums or four legged pets is abhorrent. Definitely would never recommend this store, but actually tell friends and neighbors to stay away. Horrible excuse for a pet supply store.
There is not as much variety here for cat food as the usual place I frequent. I was on the last can so I had to get something for my hangry cat. They had a very limited number of the brand I usually get, and it was more expensive. Will only be coming here for emergencies like today.
Very misleading prices. I picked something from this bin. The register rings up to not be $5. And the store associate insisted me to pay the original price even though I showed him where I picked it. Honestly nbd so I just returned it. Maybe stop running fake sale/promotion?
Walked around for a good 45 mins no one helped me I was gonna buy a guneia pig and cage but ended up with a betta I like him but I went to get a pet for my birthday. Store is small and was out of ferrets and almost all the reptiles. Plus I had to find everything by myself.
We made a horrible mistake giving this store a chance. The groomer james cancelled last minute on us 3 times in a single week, and still had the gall to be rude to us. We will never again return to this store. Just abysmal service by a company that clearly doesn't care.
These people at Petco are awesome all the employees are will help their very helpful and they pretty much got everything you need my cat loves temptations and they almost always got temptations until there to help everybody we just really nice employees it works there
they never answer the phone here and wouldn't accept surrendered healthy fish despite having bought them here and their fish dept tanks being empty ♂️ although TBH me euthanizing them is probably better than them dying from disease in their gross displays. …
It was great service, faster than expected, accurate. We got some advices we asked for, and more other they gifted some accessories for our dog. The dog looked like she trusted her groomer totally and was ready to stay there longer. And the price is really good!
Easy to find things, knowledgeable staff who's always happy to help. I'm often asking many questions about fish, one women in particular is very helpful and seems to enjoy talking about the fish. I've been to a number of Petco's, I think this one is my favorite.
We have been buying Sergio Alejandro's products and were trained by Christie, since day one! More than THREE YEARS, now! And while we lived just 1/2-mile away until 15 months ago, we continue to drive to the U-District, even though we're several miles away, now.
Giant ball of dead fish in bottoms of tanks. The dude took out a lizard to let people hold it, and he dropped it and it smacked the floor. Almost all of the Bettas where dead on the shelf. This is a absurdly bad pet store. Please take your business elsewhere.
The staff here is always friendly and attentive. The best place for me to get my supplies for my bunny and parakeets. The Petco Vital Care plan saves me a lot of money on the overall needs of my pets. Highly recommend shopping here for your pets' needs. :)
Store has an unfinished warehouse feeling, despite being long established. Reduced stock compared to other Petco stores. If you are in the area, it's nice to have access to. Don't go out of your way for this location. No experience with the grooming salon.
Came here for two tetra, both died within a couple days and they gave the rest of my fish ich.bought the treatment from them and it isn't working. I have had one of my fish for 5 years with no problems and I'm afraid it's going to die now because of Petco.
Friendly, yes. but was no help for something that I had come in a week before asking help with. They told me to do the exact same thing which had done nothing a week before. Poor knowledge of what they were talking about. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Everything is so well stocked at this store compared to the one in west Seattle. Plus there is way more staff and the staff that are there are so helpful. I can’t say enough good things about the woman that helped me today! Highly recommend this Petco!
I've never had a bad experience here. I got my kitten vaccinated awhile back; they were very gentle and professional (and warned me that my boy "was too smart for his own good"--which has been proven amply true.) Nice selection of fish too.
Standard Petco, perhaps a little smaller. Friendly staff, lots more dog accoutrements than for cats, but plenty for cats (why I go); natural foods, standard foods, grain-free, etc. Not sure if there is frozen raw food. Litter, scratchers,
Petco has top Grooming services. All the groomers I have met over the years seem genuinely happy to be groomers and seem to love pets and grooming them. Robert THe Bruce here at 12 weeks old loved his first visit to a Petco groomer
Favorite Petco in the Seattle area. Clean friendly staff willing to help locate specific toys tucked away within the store. They also had variety of available dog cookies and biscuits. We happily filled a bag before leaving.
This location has a good selection of products, but the live fish need more attention. All of the ghost shrimp were dead and looked like they had been for some time. Several fish were also dead and had not been removed yet.
Is it convenient? Sure. But we have so many other small, locally owned pet shops in Seattle that give way better service. Wally Pets, for example. This store is pretty clean. And they have items on shelves. That’s about it.
Joey is the man! He has a new modern cut he does on my doodle I love. It's like a custom fit suit for my dood. Once we find s great groomer we stick to them like glue and right now he's our man until he inevitably moves up.
Jered or Gerad (not sure on the spelling) the aquatic specialist I spoke to yesterday (4/10/21) was not at all empathetic or sympathetic about my concerns for my fish. The return policy for their fish needs improvement!
Lot of star turn over. Sometimes they are not very informed and sometimes they are lazy. Grooming seems always able to work a walk-in nail clipper buff in. Israel did a great short buff on my pit Ruby last visit.
I need to pick up a kitten tomorrow and didn’t realize I needed to get a carrier to fit some pretty specific requirements until tonight! These employees were so helpful in helping everything I needed. So grateful!
Big ups to this place for wasting my time and refusing to groom my puppy because he didn't have his rabies vaccine, which he wasn't supposed to get yet. The only animal frothing at the mouth was the receptionist
Took my Yorkie there for a haircut and bath after rover.com groomers kept canceling on me. Forest did a great job with my dog and he enjoyed his grooming and she treated him with total respect and care.
It was difficult to park my bicycle. But as soon as I walked in the door I was helped. Also they said my shirt was cool. Got a harness but it was waaay to big for my kitten, eh she will grow into it.
Shopping experience was positive and everyone was social distancing. There were not as many kinds of cat food but they had plenty of some. We were able to stock up. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Lady who sold the fish was helpful but quite arrogant. She cared more about the fish than about the customer. Otherwise Petco was clean, had practically no animal smell and was well maintained.
Lucy finally got to the groomers after months of not being able to go. She is a good but little lazy about standing for the groomers but they did a great job. Thanks for being patient with her.
i have bought healthy bettas here, but last time i went in there were about 10 fish dead of fungal infections floating in various tanks. local stores in the area also have healthier bettas.
It's been almost 2 years past when I look back at this photo. All the good memories just flush back to me and I really miss the days when Christy was doing the dog training with my Butter.
Great service. Great selection. Friendly staff that is also knowledgeable and present without making you feel stupid or like you're under suspicion for being a thief. Love this Petco.
I forgot her name but who works at the counter, she is very friendly and helpful!! She helped to find out the best travel crate for my dog.. Limited parking spots so plan accordingly
What to say? A box pet store. They usually have what you need at a decent price. Be aware though, supply chain issues make the place feel like stores during the break up of CCCP ;-)
2 regular parking spots and the rest are handicap unless you want to park across the street and walk over. The store itself was good enough, small but had what I needed in stock!
My dog used to be groomed by Joey who is amazing! Always satisfied with grooming and treatment of my pup. Joey is now grooming at Mr. pups pet care in case anyone was wondering!
The fish guy here is really nice. He took the time to help me choose the right plant for my beloved goldfish and seemed very knowledgeable about any fish questions you may have.
This store has an amazing staff. I've been a customer for almost a year. The staff at this store have earned my loyalty and gratitude. Carissa went above and beyond to help me.
I found what I was looking for. I needed baby bottles for my brand new kitten. I was so happy when I found them! Not an easy find. Thank you Petco! Made my life so much easier!
Excellent groomers, especially given the fact that all of the dog spas nearby are booked til the end of time. I have 2 XXL dogs and they got them serviced in a timely manner.
It's an ok pet store. Not super great if you have unusual pets (we have a lizard, hissing cockroaches and praying mantis). But ok. Greater varieties of bugs would be helpful.
I come here all the time to get toys for my dogs. Be sure to check out some of the discounted toys. Vetco services were also performed in a friendly and professional manner.
The staff were so friendly! I brought my kitten in to look at all of the small and twitchies, and to pick out some new electronic toys, and she had so much fun exploring.
The people there could not have been friendlier or more helpful. I was visiting there with someone that I helped rescue a with. You can't go wrong with these guys! …
Excellent seafood!! Amazing service and a view to die for!! The place down the road was booked full and rude… please go here instead, you will not be disappointed!!
We’ve had our Cockapoo groomed her twice and Kelsey has done an amazing job. She comes back gorgeous! Thanks for listening to my requests on her silly curls on top!
Just stopped in to use the restroom! They were very kind and my kiddo loved looking at the chinchilla. Everything looked clean and the animals seemed happy. Kudos.
Good store. They have a separate area just for food. Good for animal owners not much selection for small rodents and no reptiles or insects( spiders, scorpions) .
Very friendly services and knowledgable employees. However, the store has a rather small selection of aquatics fish and that was what I came there for so 4 stars.
Made pet purchases and was helped with questions swiftly. Staff is personable and really like pets. Some stock items limited but overall a very good experience.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable they're fish selection really isn't all that great they do have sales and a lot of different fish food choices
I guess I am spoiled, Grant County has more in stock and more varieties of products. I will keep coming back to see, if things change after the pandemic.
A male Petco employee stopped me on exit and accused me of theft. I set it down and told him to look at it. Since when do they sell a case of 400 forks?
Karissa is absolutely the best groomer we have ever had! Thank you so much for your love of our fur babies and your attention to their personal details!
Definitely go to store for all our dogs need. Unfortunately recently noticing the prices are getting way expensive compared to Amazon for few products.
