Brought in my 2012 Ford Focus that had a check engine light on. I had already did some diagnostics on it prior to bringing it in. I have a code reader I bought from Canadian Tire. It gives you codes which you can then look up online. So I already knew it had to do with my 02 sensor(s). They did thier own diagnostics, which I was charged for, just for them to tell me what I pretty much already knew. I was quoted at an additional $344.12 on top of the $85 diagnotics for a total bill of over $429. This is obvouisly a ton of money to replace a sensor so I said I would need to think about it. So i picked my car up, was charged $75 for diagnostics plus an additional $5.63 for shop supplies (for what I have no clue)plus tax so, $85. Upon looking online for videos of people doing it themselves, it literally took them less than 10 mins to replace the part. Speaking of parts. 02 sensors go for no higher than $65, yet they wanted to charge me $232 for the part...I understand mechanics charge a mark up on parts, but this much mark up is rediculous!! I called them to ask them why they are charging over 230$ for a at most $65 part. I was told that "oh you must of looked up the wrong part, you need whats called a fuel ratio sensor" hmm funny that on my quote it clearly says "oxygen 02 sensor", not "fuel ratio sensor" why is there no transparency? So I look up fuel ratio sensors and see that they go for between 80-100$ max. So they are charging well over 100% mark up on thier parts...That. Is. Insane. I was also quoted at $90 for labour, or roughly half hour labor. Based on reserch I did, this job take maybe 10-15 mins tops...so what the hell... Needless to say I am extreamly disappointed with my experience there. They got $85 of my very hard earned money for doing basically nothing. And then tried to rake me over the coals on the work needed done. I had one other job done by them in the past on my old Accura and I had a bad feeling then that I was over charged, thats why I did my research this time. I guess the only reason I returned is that they are right down the road from where I work and it is convenient, and over all they seem to have good reviews. However, with that being said. I feel its only fair to share my experience with the public so that they can do thier research before agreeing to pay what is quoted, because I was treated unfairly in this instance.

I have recommended This shop to my coworkers and family, and everyone who has gone has been happy with the service. John runs a great shop. Never tries to up-sell you, and only fixes what needs to be done. Always gives thorough explanations of service needed, alternatives, what can wait, etc. Can fit me in whenever I've asked. I have been taking my car here for a few years now, and won't be going anywhere else. Update October 2023....I have had my car in for service 3x since May 2023. First time seemed ok, tire swap was done, my winter and summer tires are on rims. I don't drive often and when I went to use my car a few days later one tire was completely flat. The sidewall looked a bit chewed up as well. Called and asked if anything had been noted when they had swapped the tires and didn't get a clear answer besides that the tires are older and maybe something from the road flew up and damaged the sidewall. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and booked my car in to get a new tire for the flat, ended up getting 2 on their advice for even wear (which I do agree with as best practice). I called after I got my car back and asked for an update on why the tire had gone flat, ie was there a puncture or what? Was assured someone would call me back, but I never heard back. Oil change on Sept 14, and again I don't drive much maybe 1x a week. Went out to the car Sept 29 and I have a flat tire. This time I decided to just reinflate it and checked the psi on all my tires. All 4 were really low, including the 2 brand new tires. Now I'm wondering if my tire was even truly flat the first time, or if I just got duped. I don't know why all my tires would be low like this. I was also told my rear struts are leaking with this service report, but I'm going to get a second opinion. I gave them a second chance because I'd had such great service from John and Dalton in the past, and they offer pick up and drop off which is really convenient, but I am not sure anymore. Maybe it's all coincidence, but I've never had flat tires after a service on my car anywhere, and now it's happened twice. Also I've tried the email appointment request twice, and never gotten a response. Under old management I would get a call within 24 hrs to confirm.

If I could, I would give this shop ZERO stars. When it comes to a customers safety - I would recommend going to a shop that puts it as first priority and backs it accordingly with their business practices (aka - what they choose to include/not include on their reports and what they highlight to their customers as IMPORTANT things to fix on their car). FYI - I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfaction to John BEFORE posting this. I decided to give him the opportunity first, but since he didn't care and based on the phone call I just had; this review and warning to other people is more than fair. - Four months ago this dealership "fixed" a break problem on my car and gave it a maintenance check - When I drove away that day - yes the breaks got fixed. However, within 30 seconds of getting into the car and driving it there was major clunking heard in the front right of the car that was not there when I initially drove my car in - The dealership saw my car the next day and found the lower balljoint had play. Other than that everything else checked out except some noise abatement clips that was contacting the caliper. They adjusted it. I left the dealership and the sound was gone. Remember sound wasn't there until this place saw my car on day 1 - When I left the shop on the second day, sound was gone and I had a report that included the balljoint being identified in the notes section but in the recommended immediate action section there was nothing. Based on nothing being said to me either when I actually got my car - I thought everything was fixed. Fast forward four months... Car gets taken into a different shop and has a $3,000.00 bill. One of the issues being the suspension control arm. Not only did NAPA Autopro let me drive away with a safety concern but because they didn't recommend fixing it at the time (AUGUST 2019), it became that much more expensive of a problem for me in November. If you want upfront communication and be able to trust that you are driving away from a shop with a car that is fixed and safe - don't go here.

I've been bringing my plumbing van here for about a year now and they have been great. I have a small and honestly slow plumbing business so I'm on a tight on budget. They have been really good at giving me a list of must doo's and do in the future type maintenance items on my 300,000+ Ford work van. It runs and is safe on the roads for my self and other road users. So I'd like to say thanks for providing honest reliable service! *Update 23/11/2017 Had another service today and would like to say again these guys are the most honest mechanics I've had. My van has been working hard this year. It needed another oil change so I figured since it's been running sluggish to get an over all check over. They were bluntly honest with every issue they found. A couple of which I suspected. I'm going in to my second year of business with this van. It was purchased to get me by for a year tops. They have worked with me and my low low budget and we're up front with the condition to start with when I purchased it. We got all of the safety issues buttoned up right away and working on smaller items when I can afford it. Long story short they made some great suggestions to get my exhaust system working. ( Clogged cats ) went to a muffler shop got all fixed up. Van runs like a Top, better than it ever has! Glad these guys have my back which is helping grow my business. When I get a newer quality van they will continue to have my business. Thanks again!

I'd won a used car recently off auction and after a bumpy first few commutes, I was on the hunt to find a shop who could get me in for an inspection next day rather than next week. My Calgary Mechanic popped up on a search. I contacted them, and they were the only place who could get me in next day, so I went for it. It helped tremendously that they offer a complementary Pick up & Drop Off service. It really helped not needing to burn time off at work. The day of inspection, the mechanic showed up within the time window provided and picked up the car. A few hours later, the mechanic who inspected my car informed me of the work to be done to address the bumpy ride (suspension related) and didn't upsell me on any services not related to the topic at hand. They also helped guide me on what item to prioritize fixing first and helped book my next appointment to address that. Important to note they didn't pressure me on paying right now to get all the work done immediately, and explained deferring it was okay as the vehicle is still drivable. I was very happy to use MCM and I'm happy to recommend them to others. The complementary Pick Up & Drop Off service is very hard to beat.

Caught the main mechanic John trying to upsell me on transmission fluid swap on two seperate occasions, claiming it was brown and needed replacement. Funny thing is, he personally replaced less than six months prior to this and checking the fluid myself showed it was in great condition. In addition to this, when he returned my car it had a 5 foot scratch down the passenger side door. He claimed he didn't know how it got there and refused to pay for it. It was in his care, I expect it returned in the same condition. After discussing it at length, he refused to even share the cost. To top it all off, he consistently forgets to sync my tire pressure monitors whenever I get my winter tires put on. This requires me to schedule another appointment, at his convenience, and drop it off for up to an hour. No priority service due to their mistake. Please find another mechanic to do your work and do not make the same mistake that I did. John does not stand by his customers and will try to scape goat away from responsibility.

I brought my truck into CFM Auto for what was supposed to be a routine clutch replacement. On my first appointment, they were friendly, fast, and transparent. Unbeknownst to me and the shop, my truck has a little issue when you remove the stock clutch and put in a new one. A pesky noise coming from the quill on the front of my transmission and the release bearing. The shop looked at it for me and I also did some research on how to fix the issue. They listened to what I had to say without any attitude or arrogance that you can experience at some places. I ordered the parts that were required to fix the issue and the shop was quick to rectify the situation I was having with my truck. Throughout this whole time with my truck, which was more than a few weeks, their level of commitment, customer service, and professionalism far exceeded my expectations. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to get work done to their vehicle and I will continue to bring my future vehicles here.

I just wanted to thank Dalton and his team at Napa as they were so incredibly helpful and saved me a huge chunk of change. From the moment I called Dalton, he was super helpful and went over everything with me to make sure I understood and called back in a timely manner to give me updates. Dalton and his team did a follow up diagnostics after I had taken my Honda Civic in to my dealership to find out that I didn’t even need a part they said I did which was over $1300. They were able to pick my car up from work and fix my AC in a timely fashion as well as the oil change and cabin filter I had asked after the fact. I had my car back in no time with blasting cold air just in time for the next heat wave. Having been a customer of this establishment for a decade now, I've never had anything but the best things to say about it. However, the business is very much in the process of turning over a new leaf with founder John having sold it to new owner Mike in recent months. For me, an experience with a business is all about my interaction with its employees and my understanding is that as of July only one employee who worked for John will remain with the organization. As such I will continue to use My Calgary Mechanic for all of my automotive service needs but let's just say that the jury is very much out as to whether My Calgary Mechanic will continue to deliver if not exceed the extremely high standard of service that I've come to expect from Kensington/CFM AutoPro over the years!

Honestly the best mechanic shop in Calgary. My car froze during the cold snap this year, and it was a 2 DAY wait just to get a call back from AMA, no towing companies could tow my car for at least 3 days, so it was just sitting in a parking lot by my work. I called CFM autopro, and they sent someone out within a few hours to pick up the car. I was so relieved I almost cried. They fixed it quickly and were in contact with me throughout the process to let me know the state of my car and what repairs were needed and to inform me of the coat. They even dropped the car back off at my work for me. Could not recommend them enough, they were total lifesavers, and extremely kind and professional.

The communication started a bit rough, because I ordered and agreed upon parts and services for my vehicle. After a couple of months, I still did not hear from anyone. Let me clarify, I believe this was mistake caused by the business transition from the old ownership to the new ownership. I decided to give my calgary mechanic a chance. I have to say, I am EXTREMELY PLEASED I did so. I was suspicious about the cost and workmanship. To my surprise, the commission got EXCELLENT my vehicle was PERFECTLY SERVICED and the BILLING at the end was UNDER what I EXPECTED. Yes, I am definitely staying with MY CALGARY MECHANIC and I WHOLEHEARTEDLY, TRUST, AND RECOMMEND MY CALGARY MECHANIC.

Fantastic service. Had a bad experience with another mechanic who quoted me a ridiculous price for an issue I was having. Got on the phone with Dalton who spent no less than 30 mins just researching my problem without me even saying I'm going to be using their services. After actually doing his due diligence, unlike the other guy, he said the part would cost me $81. For reference, the other mechanic quoted me $1800. Fast forward to a day later and my car was fixed and delivered to my front door. Didn't even have to leave my house. Amazing service and very professional and knowledgeable staff. 100% earned me as a loyal customer.

The service is fast, friendly and honest. Came for an oil change and sevice. Was done fast and without 'extra suggestions' and upsells on what else can be done. The mechanic was friendly and walked me through the report on inspection explaining what was done, the sate of the car, etc. As a women, I appreciate being spoken to in a friendly and simple manner about the technical details of my car. So often mechanincs feel free to talk down at me as if I am never gonna get it anyway, or charge me extra because I don't know any better. Not at this shop. He earned my respect and trust.

Absolutely 5 FULL stars. Visited the shop on a recommendation from a friend to investigate a costly recommendation from another shop. Shared the info, and NAPA Kengsington told me right away what they thought it might be instead, which as a small fraction of the cost. BOOM they were right and I was happily back on the road. This is the best mechanic shop I've ever experienced! Service is top notch and the fact that I get inspection reports with pictures and videos directly to my phone is awesome. Also not pushy on repairs at all which I appreciate! Went to Kal Tire once and they wanted to sell me on new brake pads and I said no. Had an inspection a few months later here and break pads didn't even come up because they're still good (I verified myself as well when I changed my tires). Do yourself and your car a favor and go to CFM Autopro!

Truly amazing service. John and Zach were incredibly helpful and understanding. They were able to get my car up and ready to be registered the same day I called to ask if they could fit me in. They both stayed late to help me out so I could get it done in one day since I'm actually from Edmonton, but my car was stranded there in Calgary for the previous week. If I lived in Calgary, these guys would be my GO-TO mechanics. Can't say enough positive things about these guys and the experience I had.

I called in here on short notice but they were still able to give me a spot, they checked the car and made sure to get my authorisation on all work BEFORE doing anything which was great. They listened to my concerns and examined the exact components I took issue with. After replacing the faulty components I had mentioned they gave a full inspection report and charged a fair rate for their work. Overall a good experience and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a good honest mechanic shop.

I started going this NAPA based on some positive feedback from a friend. They have been servicing my 1 ton for a couple of years now. On my last service there was an issue with some of the work that was done. Which will happen at any shop. What was impressive is that they took ownership of the issue. I found them through a friend and ever since it has removed the doubt about choosing a mechanic and what they would do. They are amazing and transparent, and they pick up your vehicle for you for services at no cost. They also have smart cars for loaners. I've been taking both of my company pool trucks for routine servicing at Kensington AutoPro for 1.5 years now and John always does a great job of explaining what work was done, and what needs to be done next time. When my 2011 Range Rover Supercharged needed a full engine teardown, the crew at My Calgary Mechanic got it sorted. They replaced the timing chains, re-timed the engine to perfection and put everything back together without a hitch. Mike, the owner, was super accommodating throughout the process. This the third time I have been to NAPA Autopro Kensington in the last year, but the first time I had to do some major work. Dalton, Brandy and John are always personable and welcoming. I was referred to CFP (Dalton and team) by another non-related service organisation. As many other reviewers noted they go above and beyond typical shops, are cost effective, and very knowledgeable. I had another (formerly favourite) shop do an Out of Province inspection, and their ignorance of the process caused me much additional cost and time. I live quite a ways away from them, but will now have a new fave, for the above reasons.

The customer service people were super professional and helpful! Answered all questions and concerns no issues at all. I came in knowing how much my Alignment would cost, no extra or hidden fees. Staff went above and beyond, and gave me before and after pictures and details on what they did. They also did a quick maintenance on my vehicle and made sure my vehicle was good to go at no extra cost. Highly recommend them!

Amazing customer service and extremely fair prices. This is the only shop I've been to that made me feel like my concerns were being taken seriously - they took care of an issue that I had been told I was imagining and helped me to figure out pricing when I was deciding to sell my vehicle. The whole experience was excellent. I received the quote within a few hours. Setting up the appointment was fast and painless. Having a car rental service in place is really convenient, and the price for the rental is unbeatable. The overall price was very competitive, and I was really happy to see they go the extra mile to guarantee you are paying the lowest. All in all, would recommend blindly!

How was My Calgary Mechanic ? Closed I wish the times were properly posted . My time was wasted after driving across the city this Saturday morning after doing a Google search for OPEN shops . The hours given are 7 AM to 7 PM . I called the shop but was informed that they offer 24 hour service , but the shop itself was closed . I should have called ahead to be sure the hours were accurate.

Had an excellent experience with my gfs vehicle. They worked to have the issues sorted over the holidays and gave her a loaner vehicle. Compared to my other recent experience at a different napa autopro which was horrendous. This location in Kensington shows some serious customer service and good workmanship!

I went for a seasonal tire change. Very reasonable price, and I really appreciated the detailed complimentary vehicle inspection with photos that was texted to me that even told me how much tread is left on my summer and winter tires. Very happy with my service. Will definitely be back.

Staff was great at accommodating me. Had an alignment after doing some DIY and addressed issues I didn’t think I had..like loose sway bar brackets. All for a very good price just for an alignment. Definitely a repeat customer..unfortunately I drive a Toyota.

It was a second opinion but unfortunately turned out to be a larger issue. They were patient and understanding with me as we had a few issues but they maintained a great customer service. Including having a car for me to use. Will continue to bring my car.
