I've been a loyal customer of Nail and Beauty Garden at Erskineville but after my recent experience I will be looking elsewhere to get my nails done. I came in Tuesday the 22nd to get a Mani Pedi with shellac on my feet and SNS on my hands for a wedding I was attending up the coast on the 24th. I was very happy with the results but by Friday morning on the 25th, four fingers nails had already chipped. My SNS nails! Chipped already after 3 days? This has never happened before? Generally they last so long I need to get them removed because they've grown out. So to say I was disappointed was an understatement, I took a photo and made a mental note to call to rectify this when I got home on Sunday night (by this point, 6 of them had chipped). We remained up the coast for the rest of the weekend as planned and Monday morning, right before I could call to rebook to have them fixed, my partner tests positive for COVID. I also do a test and sure enough I'm positive, now with symptoms. Although it is no longer required, there was no way I was going to attend the salon while positive and symptomatic, so I waited until Thursday when I felt better and called to make an appointment for the weekend. I show up to my appointment and explain the situation, the nail tech counts how many fingers are chipped and gives me two options: 1. Fix only the chipped nails (he counted 7 originally) and colour match or 2. Redo all 10 nails and pay $49. After I had a good look over them, I notice that actually, every. single. nail is chipped to some degree (this is only 11 days after getting them done). I told the nail tech that I would rather get them all redone because they are all in fact chipped. He notes this but reiterates that I will have to pay $49 to get them fixed. Although it is stated no where on their website, I agree with him when he states the policy for fixing nails is within one week is fair, however, I had COVID so I'm unsure what else could have been done. My thought process also was that even if I did get the specific number of individually chipped nails fixed after one week, what would have stopped the remaining nails from chipping after that? I wasn't expecting them to deteriorate so easily and to the degree they did, this has never happened before. He speaks with the owner but says that the best they can do is charge $49 for a new set or take them off at no charge. I express my disappointment and ask to have the polish removed. I ask if I can have a partial refund, considering I did not get the service I paid for, to which I'm also told no. While the staff were very understanding, I'm incredibly disappointed at the lack of accommodation made for the situation. I wasn't expecting to have them redone for free, but I certainly wasn't expecting to pay full price. Especially when it clearly states on their website that the dipping powder "lasts up to 3 weeks", which has also been my previous experience. I'm feeling very let down, the staff at Nail and Beauty Garden have always been lovely and incredibly thorough, but it seems the owner would rather make a profit than rectify issues. From now on, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Checked the website and saw that a shellac mani pedi is $80. Booked this and arrived at 11am today and advised the staff that I had booked a mani/pedi. Waited almost half an hour before the pedi started. Due to servicing many customers I finished my pedicure and sat down for my manicure at 12.20pm and was left waiting after this, when my manicure started the technician apologised for making me wait and asked if I wanted a full manicure and I said that due to having so many customers in the store I'll just get the nail colour and I asked if it was okay for a coloured tip paint. The technician said this was fine. I finished my service at 1.30pm (2.5 hours for shellac pedi and gel colour with french tip - no manicure). When I went to pay I was charged $115, when I asked why, they said that I would only get the Mani/Pedi discount price if I had got the full manicure, plus $15 for removal of my sns colour on my nails and $5 removal for shellac, plus $15 for french tip colour. Totally ripped off! There is no way to get shellac or SNS infills so the removal of your previous nail colour should be included in the total price. Extremely misleading and extortionate to not allow me the combo price seeing as I got a reduced service due to the extended wait time.

I waited for a few visits to make this five star review but I have been so stoked with each of my manicures it is well-deserved! The ladies are so detail-oriented and delicate that I end up with some of the most perfect nails of my LIFE! The salon itself has a great, clean layout; good range of colours and nail brands and the staff are all talented at what they do. You can even order some cocktails from the bar next door. I'd recommend calling for an appointment on weekends, but they accept walk-ins when they can fit. The service itself is exceptional - a full proper spa manicure with care taken and a perfect set of nails at the end. My new local!!

I will never come back here again. I got my first pedicure here because my pedicurist retired from the salon where I usually go. After 3 days, shellac peeled off one nail, but I didn’t have time to go and fix it. A week later, I came to redo it, the color did not match exactly, it was obvious after the first layer, and when I asked about it, the girl simply shrugged her shoulders and did not offer to find an alternative. And I also paid $5 for it. And it's not about money, but about service and the desire of people to work

Terrible experience!!! Firstly, I was told a cost for my nails when I got to the salon and then half way through getting my nails done I was told it was going to be $25 more because the girl calculated it wrong. Then the girl doing my nails cut my nail making it bleed and didn't even apologise. To make matters worse, I recently got my nails taken off to be redone and one of my nails had fungus which has never happened to me and I've been getting my nails done for years!! Couldn't be more disappointed with my experience.

Walked in for a manicure on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted and served super fast. I asked for a French nail + flower design and the nail artist did perfectly. I showed him an inspiration picture and he gave his feedback and adjusted accordingly based on my current nail length. His attention to detail was amazing and he also did it so efficiently. I can’t stop looking at them! I’ve gone previously to get my nails taken off and it was super straightforward and really well done too. Thank you very much!

They were lovely but unfortunately we didn’t have the best first experience. My manicure was amazing! Nails look fantastic. The pedicure was done by another person and wasn’t good– the old nail polish wasn’t properly removed, and the polish on my toes looks awful. Hopefully just a once off. My partner also got a mani pedi voucher 5 months prior for a birthday gift for $55, they then said she’d have to pay extra. A gift voucher purchased in the same year should be honored at the same price.

I got an infill done on nails that had been done at a different salon which weren't filed down correctly and looked quite thick, bulbous and unnatural. The nail technician at Nail and Beauty Garden took such great care with my nails, they were beautifully shaped, thin, and shiny, and look like my natural nails. She was diligent with making sure they were perfect. I wish I had a photo to show how different they look comparatively. I was very impressed with the service, thank you!

I used to be a regular customer of the Erskineville salon for many years as the nail technicians were all excellent. There's been a significant decline in the quality of service, the last manicure and pedicure I had was very roughly done, filing was not at all gentle and too much of my cuticle cut down. Harry is the only nail tech there that is excellent, so if you manage to get a booking with him, you'll get excellent service. The others, not so much.

Had a booking for 4.30, waited in the shop alone thinking they were busy, to then notice they were doing each other’s nails. Yes they sat me down but with 3 girls, 2 of them continued to do they’re nails while the other was on her phone, and I just waited!! Been turned away as well before because they were having lunch…. Feels like you are bothering them and they definitely don’t want your business. Never going back

My old neighborhood nail salon! I visit every 3-4 weeks to get my SNS done, acrylic at times. I almost always come with pinterest-inspired nail art ideas and they would help me make it happen! I will definitely miss this place as they’re all super friendly and I feel pampered every time I’m there. Will try to just get my nails done on weekends to be back here! 11/10 would recommend!

Just had a lip and chin wax. She charged me $45 which I thought was a bit expensive, didn't say anything. Got home, had a look on their website which says $10 lip and $15 chin. Called them up to ask why I was overcharged. They used every excuse they could think of. Told them to go onto King Street and Enmore and see what other salons charge. Will not be going back there again.

One of the worst shellac manicures I've ever had. Went to get a shellac manicure for a wedding I have this weekend, the technician filed the shellac after it had set and within 24 hours all of the nails had lifted and frayed. Don't live near this salon and could get back during their short opening hours so had to pay to get another manicure somewhere else only 2 days later.

Really excellent and friendly service, wide range of colours for nails, and best manicure (shellac) I've ever had! So beautifully and expertly done. I witnessed the staff have to deal with a customer who wasn't very friendly - they were all so patient with her and handled it really professionally. Super impressive customer service. Definitley coming back here :)

Peggy and her team are just the best nail technicians I have ever experienced. I am quite fussy and nothing is too much trouble. They don't rush like other salons. They get it right every time and the team are a real joy. Highly recommended

I always thought that Sydney could not find a good nail salon. I was wrong. Ever since I met Nail & Beauty Garden, there were only surprises, and fall in love once,haha… Even if I only do single color shellac. Great place not to be missed.

I got the Evo2 Gel by Bio Sculpture manicure and the level of detail and precision was outstanding. The nail tech made sure everything was even and did a perfect job of applying the nail polish. Would highly recommend!
