Visiting Nashville for the first time requested to be dropped off at a location in Nashville. Earlier in the night me and a friend took a cab and we knew around what the cost would be. When it approached the amount we were charged I asked if the driver was sure that we were going to the correct destination. We reached the destination that the driver assumed was our destination, but it was not. I told the driver this and he told us that this was the destination that we requested. My friend ended up paying him because the driver was becoming hostile. When calling the company and speaking to a supervisor he told us that since we paid the driver that we were out of luck. We then tried calling other cab companies to come pick us up and none of them could find out where we were because the cab driver dropped us off in Laverne which is a couple towns over from Nashville. After walking about 3 miles and finding a local landmark we found a cab company that knew where we were and picked us up 4 hours after we were dropped off. When we called the office the next day to try speak with a different supervisor we received the same rude response of " you shouldn't have paid the driver if it was the wrong spot and because you did its not our problem. We spent $50 for the cab ride to nowhere and $50 to get out of nowhere, when we only spent $35 getting there. It was a terrible experience and if you ever are in Nashville do not choose checker cab company.

I'm usually not one to write a negative review because I know how much a company prides themself on reputation. This can company's office is less than 4 blocks from my location so I ordered a cab. I was told the wait time was 15 minutes. Which is not a problem. I'm very understanding about it because the CMA, Preds, and some other event is going on. So after waiting 45 minutes I call the cab to make sure they didn't go to the wrong address. The guy then explains that it is going to be another 15-20 minutes. I call again having not seen my cab pull up to my location. I ask when they would be here and he gave me an answer of and I quote: "I don't know". This has got to be the most unprofessional way to handle business as a cab company. Your whole business modle revolves around when you can get to someone how long it takes to get there and how long it takes to get to your next pick up. Your business is time and for you not to know when is a little ridiculous. So I asked the gentleman if he was willing to offer a discounted rate due to the natrocious lack of consideration and timing. He then said no it will still be full price. So I thanked him for his time and told him I would find another cab company who values time. Highly recommend finding a different cab company if you are out and about.

Great experience. We were staying in the Four Points Sheraton in Brentwood and wanted to catch a cab into downtown. The Brentwood cab companies had horrible ratings so we called Checker Cab. A young guy named Nass picked us up. I have to say, as soon as I heard his name was Nass (like the rapper Nas) I liked the guy. He was super polite and engaging, but not annoying. Some cabbies can talk to the point of annoyance. He didn't. Upon getting to our destination on Broadway he got out and opened the door for us and then gave us his cell phone number in case we wanted him to give us a ride back. Well a few hours later we called his cell phone and he picked us up within 2 minutes. The guy is awesome. I suggest that you ask for him when calling. I will next time I'm in Nashvegas.

Went to go see Nashville. Ordered a cab at 10:52pm because an Uber/Lyft was going to cost $235 to go 22 miles. The cab dispatch operator gave me a price quote of about $65 and that a cab would arrive in 30 minutes. It then immediately started to pour. 11:50pm I got a call from a driver saying that he was 15 minutes away. I called the driver back at 12:20am. Driver told me he was a few minutes away. At 12:42am I found a Lyft for $45. Lyft came in 5 minutes. At 12:53am the cab driver called me to tell me that he was down the road...I then told the cab driver that I found a Lyft after waiting two hours. At 1:35am I received a call from the cab driver...I ignored his call. Long story short: After two hours of waiting in the freezing cold rain, I was saved by Lyft.

Gave 1 star because 0 wasn't an option. Used this company to retrieve my car after vacation and will never use them again ! The man driving our van was rude and used profanity because we only needed to go about a mile. Nashville airport should forbid this company from entering the area for picking up customers. We had a very long day and were 4 hours later than expected so we just used the first cab in line to get my car from a hotel we used for park and fly. The man cursed stating that he had been there for 2 f***ing hours and that he was getting f***ed because it wasn't far. He took us to the hotel didn't even help with bags and drove away mad barely giving my husband time to get them and get out of his way. Horrible service never using them again!

Literally kicked us out of the cab when he found out we had to go to Brentwood. We all knew we would have a decent cab fare and planned to tip well but apparently it wasn't worth their time or money. The driver was a complete disrespectful jerk who paid no respect that we were trying to make it home safe and were willing to pay whatever it took essentially.. So we ended up finding a cab driver for the NashVegas cab company who took care of us and gave us the time of day. I highly recommend NEVER EVER using Checker Cab! Dispatcher hung up and driver didn't pay a single moment to what we needed! Cab driver had meters and everything off and was still trying to make a cash deal under the table. Beware! Do. Not Use!!

We visited Nashville in April. We used this cab company to get from the airport to our hotel on Broadway. Our driver’s name was Salam. He was professional and got us to our hotel safely. Little did we know, our daughter’s brand-new cell phone fell out of her pocket. We tracked it and saw it go further and further away from us, toward the airport! I called the main number, and Henry Brown helped us figure out that Salam was our driver and put us in contact with him! Both Salam and Henry went above and beyond that day. Salam brought the cell back to us after he drove his next customer. Incredible. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I called at 7:05 and was immediately placed on hold for 35 minutes. When somebody finally picked up the line I gave them my location and destination. They said somebody would be there within 25 minutes. At a quarter till 9 I called back, asking how much longer it was going to be. After being placed on hold a couple more times, I was simply told that they were too busy to get me, and given the number of another company (who it turned out didn't even pick up in the area I was in). This was my first, and last, time using this taxi company.

I live downtown Nashville and usually use Uber or Lyft and love them (this ride was confirmation that I should keep ridesharing --- but a cab was waiting in front of the restaurant --- so I gave it a shot). It was Cab #105 Jay was the drivers name. I always ask for a business card and take a picture of it to send to a friend when riding in a cab alone, for safety. Anyway, when we got to my place he said $7. I told him that a cab ride to my place is $4.80. His meters were off and he ran my credit card on a square on his phone...hmmm....

The worst service ever waited 2hrs and 30mins for it to arrive when it gets there the driver was very rude he wanted me to tell him how to get to where I was going I’m ok with that but then he was not either understanding me or didn’t want to go the way I was telling him of course he wanted to run the meter 8min drive turned out to be 20min and ended up paying 20.97 HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! The person I spoke to to make the complain was very nice and professional about the situation but with drivers like that it’s hurting the business

Horrible place that will cheat you and leave you stranded. I stated that my ride would be roundtrip when i called for a cab. Once i arrived at my first stop the driver informed me that he would not be taking me back home and that i had to exit the car. I explained that i informed the csr when i called this was roundtrip and he stated that he would be late to another appointment if he took me back home so i needed to get another ride. Then he tried charging me a sitting fee for the time i spent debating with him. Never again

I would give a zero if I could. Being local we tried to use a local taxi service versus Uber, Lyft, or Earth, and the guy charged us $30 straight to go 1.9 miles. He never turned the meter on and used our phone to navigate. When I called in to ask if this was normal procedure I was told “no, it’s illegal but ….” Basically drivers do what they want because of surge prices etc… and then when I asked if he wanted the drivers license to speak to them about it he said “well that’s what happens with surges,” and hung up on me.

If I could give no stars or a negative I would!! These drivers get so pissed from the get go when they find out you're paying with a debit / credit card. They let out loud sobs and start talking loud and complaining about how they wait for hours and have to pay extra money and don't know why everyone uses a card. Little do they know that I am very fond of giving tips for great customer service . So never get a taxi in Nashville!!! I would much rather walk to my destination rather to be in a vehicle feeling unsafe.

Absolutely ridiculous company. They hardly ever show up, even after repeatedly being called, and then when they do show up your driver or trying to charge you two to three times more than what the ride is actually worth. I have lived in downtown Nashville for nearly 5 years and this is consistent. Your best bet is to just grab yourself an Uber or Lyft and save yourself time and hassle. Then you also gets a ride in a car that actually works properly and smells decent, and your driver will actually speak English.

I would give no stars if it was an option. This taxi company was awful to my friend. To hear how they upset her makes me livid and I hope no one uses this company. First off they lied about not services the Hendersonville area because heaven forbid it’s too “far”Is this not their job as a taxi company? The man upset my friend because he complained that he had to drive 21 miles to get her. Then had the nerve to ask for a flipping tip. The dispatch lady is awful. Let me tell you now SAVE yourself the trouble.

I never use cabs always use Uber or Lyft. The drivers are nicer and their car don't smell like farts, vomit, and sweat. Anyhow, I was driving downtown about to turn into the turning lane on Broadway when this checker cab swings out from a side street barley misses hitting the driver side of my car then this guy, who has passengers in his vehicle, starts screaming profanities out of his window at me. I felt bad for the customers. I called the company to report this person and they could car less.

Please read this about this company. It was the best experience just second to going to heaven in my opinion. I especially recommend the highly under rated cab #94. This operator is my favorite. This driver gave me prompt immediate service second to none. His cab is clean, he loves his company, dispatchers, company owner, even the office manager too. On a scale of 1-10 I give you #94 if all the drivers are like this one that I had,, there just can't be a better cab company. .

One of your drivers over 50 years old long white beard fat guy was driving under the speed limit not looking up from his phone while driving almost hit us and he didn't even look up just kept going, this is illegal and extremely dangerous, I live in this area and if the same driver does this again I will be taking pictures and filling a law suit on your company for continuing to employ reckless drivers that text and drive.

Was going to take a leisurely 15 minute walk to the Grand Ole Opry from to from the Gaylord Resort but rain was threatening. Had Uber ready to go for $6.08 but as we were walking out "Joe" in a green Nashville Checker Cab van said he'd give us a ride over. Got there in 5 mins (less than .5 miles) and he said "20 bucks." Questioned him on it and he just said "20 bucks". What a small rip off. No wonder Uber is taking over.

I have not used this service but I have witnessed them driving. No headlights in a heavy rain never use turn signals. I drive around Nashville for my job so I see them a lot. Today I witnessed for about the 20th time one of their drivers with passenger cut off a tractor trailer only to jam on his brakes to exit nearly causing an accident. If you value your life you will never set foot in one of these cabs.

Called to get a cab over to the airport, to pick up a rental car. Waited over an hour to call back and find out there was not yet a cab on the way. The dispatcher I spoke with both times, was truly great. ...but you do need to have available drivers, in order to send them out, which was not her fault. Her customer service is why I gave the 3 stars, but really...save yourself some time, and order a Lyft.

Called when car was broke down and the dispatcher was extremely rude and hostile. I was told it was 4AM when I asked if there was an estimated time of arrival (like I didn't realize what time I had to be at work) Do Not Support this unprofessional company who should be thankful for the work not aggressive to potential customers for bothering them WHILE THEY ARE AT WORK. Better off getting an Uber.

DO NOT CALL THIS CAB COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO GET TO YOUR DESTINATION ON TIME! Three times now I have already made this mistake and every time I have had to wind up walking to work because "no one was available in my area"! The first time I called was 4 HOURS IN ADVANCE and STILL no one came to get me. DESPICABLE AND DETESTABLE SERVICE! A DISGRACE TO TAXI SERVICES EVERYWHERE!

It took them two hours to find a driver for me. After only taking 20 mins the drive before. And after 2 hours of waiting I proceeded to walk about half a mile back towards my house then I get a call from the driver who doesn’t even know my address and then takes me a mile past my destination. My drive was 7$ total and Bc of him I have to pay a total of 25$.

Let me just say that I was walking alone carrying 2 bags and an instrument from a bar downtown (where I work as a musician); and I asked the driver to take me 6 blocks and he refused, saying he "wasn't interested." I even told him I'd pay him a lot extra (as I always do) because it wasn't a long trip. I am amazed. Rude, insensitive, unbelievable.

Driver was a little too fast for my liking. During the trip, I looked at Google maps because I felt we went by our destination. Turns out we had missed our destination by 3 or 4 blocks and the driver didn't offer a reduction in fare to drive back. The driver was nice and friendly and the vehicle was clean so the overall experience was okay.

Cab 117 almost ran me off the road trying to cut in last minute. No blinker. No cares if I almost hit the wall. I also had an infant in the car. I called and complained. "I will talk to him." Seriously? The driver could have caused an accident with no cares and laughed as I passed him. Please be careful when riding with this company.

Can was not clean. Driver seemed to be non responsive to simple questions. But, it was to late as we were on the freeway before we realized it. We were going from Downtown Nashville to Gaylord. We took the Uber Downtown and we should have taken one back. We called to complain but didn’t seem they cared. Never taking a Taxi again.

Avoid Cabs in Nashville at all costs! They are all scammers. Tell you cash only, charge you 300 percent over what the cost would normally be, don’t use the meters, today I had the driver ask me what he thinks I should pay. What? This is the 3rd and last time, with 3 different cabs and all do the same thing. Take an Uber or lyft!

They cheated us. They charged us 30 dollars for a 12 dollar plus 1 dollar per person for 5 people to ride. The dispatcher, Monty told me he would refund me. After our event I called Monty and he said that it never happened. The cab number was 15. I am so disappointed. I would like to be refunded. The cab was also very nasty.

Had to get a taxi during cma fest because uber couldn't load with the amount of people. We were told 15 and they charged us 26. The ride was fine, driver was nice, car was clean. It was just annoying to be charged 2.5x the price of an uber. Uber quote was only 9 to our hotel. Only use them if you can't uber or Lyft.

Driver’s check engine and brake lights were illuminated which is quite reckless. Driver couldn’t print out receipt and didn’t email receipt as requested. After calling management of company, they claim they can’t retrieve the transaction. Uber or Lyft are more reputable options when visiting Nashville!

SCARY. We took the cab from downtown Jason Alden's bar to east nash (took 6 minutes). The driver said it was $35 and didn't run the meter. When we questioned him he CLOSED AND LOCKED THE DOORS ON US. Extremely scary incident for four young women. We will be filing a police report tomorrow morning.

We had a wonderful experience with them. We called for a pick up at a certain time to go to a concert and they were there right on time. When the concert was over - they were waiting outside to take us back. Clean cabs, professional courteous drivers. Will definitely use again when I am in town.

Don't bother. Even though I called and had a reservation (confirmation via text) the driver never showed up and I missed my flight. After calling multiple times, I was told that is was dispatched but there is no driver available. This was 45min after I was supposed to get picked up.

On 3/31/18 I called for a taxi they said 15 min I was literally 450ft away according to Google. I waited one hour and a half and they never showed, i called every 20 minutes only to be told 5 minutes every time.
