Difficult to know where to start with this, but here goes; 1. One of the lifts had clearly recently been used as a toilet and reeked of urine. 2. Broken unfunctioning bell on reception. 3. Despite paying 340$ for 2 night's accomodation, there is no servicing of the room, which is pretty staggering. A look at the info-pack in the room, says the room are serviced weekly, but you can have a daily service (at an extra charge!) 4. The bar is closed indefinitely, from 1st January, a sign pasted on the door informs. 5. Returning to the hotel one evening, at 10.15pm, the two handles of the front door are chained together, via a plastic-coated heavy duty cable. Guests have the luxury of a key to the side door. 6. There is an underground, key-fob operated car park, which being disabled, I opted for at an extra cost of 10$ per night. On departure on the last morning, we checked out as specified at 10am. In the car park, conveniently positioned next to the key-fob reader, is a box labeled 'for your keys.' As the bill had been paid by card on check-in, my wife put the keys in there and we left. Two hours later a copy of the bill was emailed to me, containing an additional item 'lost key 200$'. I rang and told Michael on the desk my wife had put the key in the box provided. "No she didn't" "Yes, she did!" "And I'm telling you she didn't." After an undignified to-ing and fro-ing, I asked him to go and check as she most definitely had. (Why wouldn't she!). I rang back 10 minutes later to be told she had but it had obviously been done 'in the window after the box was checked.' As we exited the car park by 10.15 at the latest, I assume that is the window - 10am to 10.15am - which dictates whether guests, disabled or not, are fined an additional 200$. (One wonders how good a profit line this is for the Waldorf, taking advantage of guests who don't check their bills.) They grudgingly agreed to refund the 200$, which took 4 days to reach my card. We were visiting from the Uk and The Waldorf at Pennant Hills was recommended to us by family who live nearby, and they have recommended it to many others. Now they know better.

Reception staff were very nice (would score 5/5 for service) but the positives ended there for me. Room has an overwhelming smell of cigarettes which I was surprised by in a 4 star hotel in 2016! Cigarette burns were clearly visible on dining chairs and carpet. Although kitchen and bathroom were reasonably clean, the air vents, verandah and other decor were very dusty and not well kept. My husband and I were also not at all fond of the clear glass door between the lounge room and bedroom. We may have just been unlucky with our room however based on our experience would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.

Yet another one of these Sydney hotels with cheap beds as hard as concrete. I had to sleep on the couch folder bed to get comfortable. I am a light sleeper, so arriving at the room I was concerned to find the very loud bathrom fan running with no switch to turn it off. I rang reception to be told the entire building is on the same vent system and it cannot be turned off...ever ! I had to find a pharmacy that sold ear plugs. The curtains could not be fully closed. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, coffee, toast, some apples, juice...and thats it. I had to search the dining room to find the Vegemite jar.

When asked if, in the event of a local bush fire evacuation, Senior fully paying local cld bring their small 2 older quiet birds in cages for a night until they cld get them to vet boarding, then stay in as fully paying guests, hotel manager’s response “against the rules”. It says a lot when the entire East Coast of Australia has bent over backwards to support any victims or those at risk of bushfires, whilst these guys need to “follow orders” even at the expense of losing potential income. Stunningly poor business practise & extremely unAustralian.

After a long trip in 40 plus temperatures we had planned to go for a swim in the pool but the pool was under maintenance. When we made the booking over the phone a week prior there was no mention of this despite the pool not being open since Christmas. If we did not have an event that afternoon we would have went elsewhere but due to lack of time to find somewhere else we stayed. We still had to pay full price which I am debating as we have payed for features we couldn't use. Balcony area was filthy and not enough towels provided for our booking of three adults. Probably won't stay there again.

I was quite disappointed with this place. They made a mistake when we were checking in which cost us some money due to currency conversion (not sure if it was the hotel's fault or our hosts so I will give the hotel the benefit of the doubt). The rooms do not get cleaned unless you are staying for longer than a week. The rooms are dated. The reception is not manned 24/7 (inconvenient when you want to arrive or check in "after hours"). It was not worth the money basically. Next time I will stay in an AirBnB!

Absolutely despicable hotel.. cancelled our booking without any contact and in spite of it being booked six months in advance. We arrived after a 10 hour drive with two young children and missed a wedding event as a result of having no where to stay and get ready. No explanation given, they just decided to cancel the reservation. Do not risk the same fate, DO NOT RISK STAYING AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!

There is little choice in pennant hills when it comes to accommodation. The Waldorf is certainly not in the same league as its namesake in midtown Manhattan but the reception staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms fairly large albeit with dated furniture and there's a free breakfast buffet as well as a decent Sri Lankan restaurant on site. There's also a hotel bar.

Dissapointed experience. After a god experience 5 years ago in a suite, we decided to repeat and booked one bedroom apartment. The lack of maintenance was evident in the tired furniture, the dusty atmosphere, dirty walls and ceilings. The mattress and sofa bed were too soft and uncomfortable. We recommend improving the maintenance and renovate the apartment.

Went to the Blue Elephant for dinner at the lobby of the Hotel. Some good Sri Lankan food there including hoppers and classic curries with acceptable prices attached. Service was good too. The restaurant is a little on the small side, so bookings are essential. Parking is on the street, but there's plenty of it.

Staff very hospitable, room was quite and clean, pillows, blankets, bed and aircon was amazing. Couldn't hear traffic even though we were right next to it. Didn't check out on time but staff overlooked it, very hospitable and laid back. Would definitely go here again …

  • James Kinsella

It's no Waldorf apartments... Service in the lobby was slow but polite. The room was comfy but looking like it could use a few $ spent on it... There are many far worse then it, but it just has that feel, like it's about to fall into disrepair...

  • Jenifer Millard

Stay here in the private apartments and forget your swipe key and you'll be left homeless for the night unless a passing guest lets you in - disgusting policy, denying my right to shelter. Oh and the pool is outside and green.

If you are a male business traveler traveling alone, this hotel is PERFECT. For everyone else, it is still pretty good. Clean, quiet, fine decor. Reasonable rates. Bathrooms are almost comically poorly lit.

  • Denis Laponin

Well prsented for an old place and the Loft Apartment was brilliant. Only Things of negative note are the toilet paper is cheap, balcony is never washed - a layer of black soot from pennant hills road.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Was staying there in relation to a work trip and they let me use the car park and check into my room 1st thing in the morning, which was extremely convenient for me.

  • Darren MacKenzie

This is an older hotel and the facilities show their age but remaining functional. A nice Sri Lankan/Indian restaurant is accessible directly from the lobby. Secured car parking is included free.
