Excellent store!! This is a typical mom and pop store- imagine the mood of a cozy bodega. This is the best aquarium store in all of Brooklyn that I've found. They have great prices (BTW some of the prices were rubbed off since they were in the middle of washing the tanks but they were able to tell me prices on everything when I asked!), an excellent selection, and lovely people. Everyone was friendly, quick to help despite being busy, and readily answered all the questions I had. I got around 10 fish, 10 shrimp, and several plants and they're doing great! (As I was told by the shop, you need to quarantine the fish and introduce slowly. Following this, my fish have been going strong!) This is my go-to store from now on!! If you're looking for new additions to your tank, this is a go-go-go!!! FYI I noticed quite a few other reviewers mentioned that the workers were rude but I'd have to disagree and it leads me to wonder if they were being a "Karen". The workers' English wasn't the best but they definitely did try to accommodate me nonetheless. A couple times, they were busy with other customers but would still come back to me afterwards to help. (Frankly, if you're in a rush, a simple "excuse me" or "yoohoo" goes a long way). Also, if you are newer to aquarium keeping, you may wonder why there's a lot of goldfish being kept only in one tank and well.... those are feeder fish. It's a bit jarring but, that's the nature of keeping some of the more aggressive fish/bottom feeders (you might even see that some of the other tanks have some feeder fish being munched on but that, too, is fairly typical since it's necessary for these other fish's diets). So, all in all, don't let these other reviews discourage you from visiting!!

I want to start by saying, I visit quite a few pet shops/ aquarium stores. This place I've been to 4 times within the past 4 months. They do at times carry fish you don't always see in your local shop, BUT you have to check carefully because a few of there fish on all seperate occasions are generally sick and skinny. They keep a large variety of community fish together (which is fine) but alot of times you'll see a few dead fish being eaten and some just being picked on. A few tanks either don't have a price for the fish or the writing is just worn out. I personally don't care about customer service, but if you are looking for some here...you are going to be disappointed. I've never been welcomed or asked if I needed help. I have purchased some oto cats, red eye lyretail swordtails, cories, etc. I enjoy the "mom and pop" shops and like to support my local stores, so hopefully they improve.

The main problem was that the sound of the filter was too exaggerated when I took it home. I immediately called the boss and told him to bring it over and let him try it. In the store, the sound of running water overwhelms the sound of the machine. The boss insisted that there is no problem, and he would not give the after-sales service a problem. He also said that if it is opened, it cannot be replaced. It is recommended that everyone go to this place! Don’t waist your money here

I bought 2 goldfishes here only once and they are incredibly misguiding. 1. BOTH OF MY FISHES DIED IN LESS THAN A SPAN OF A MONTH. ONE DIED 2 WEEKS AFTER THE OTHER AND I'M INCREDIBLY HEARTBROKEN STILL. 2. They carry improper information and place the other fishes in small tanks, goldfishes need 10 gallons PER fish so I wouldve needed 20 gallons but they gave me 1.5 gallons for $48 or even MORE, and it was way too small, didn't come with a heater and not worth it. 3. It's overcrowded and reminds me of a slum, squishing everywhere and not too good for corona overall this may be biased because my fish died when i purchased from this store but whatever

This is the place to go for fish and ornaments or anything u need for your fish hobby. I was so mad that i haven't discovered this shop sooner. Virtually everything in this place is half the price in any manhattan fish store. The fish varieties here are greater, u get bigger fish for almost half the prices in manhattan. The same goes with mopani woods and spider woods, they ate literally half in price of what they charge in manhattan. The filtration media is also very cheap connected l compared top any place in manhattan. This is my go to fish store from now on.

This worker with a hat and glasses is a totaldick head ~ listening my conversation with another client about another fish store that I work at . Is a aquarium business we support each other in this hobby although the store has lots of crazy things their worker decides to come at me telling me not to that in a very disrespectful way . If you guys buy here be careful because he is just a seller and knows nothing about fish probably hasn’t kept a single fish in his life not enough one visit I had at this store I found him not even acclimating fish .

Helen has been really nice with us when we visited the shop. She politely answered our questions and helped us with the supplies we needed. Btw we tested Kevin's patience while selecting the fishes but he didn't say anything rudely. Though he finally asked us to pick the fish. Though one of the fancy guppies died the next day for unknown reason but we will visit the shop again soon. The price is reasonable (lower than most private shops and pet store chains we visited in Brooklyn and Long Island) and the fish and shrimp stock is good.

Boss lady always hooks it up. Place is small and crowded but packs a lot of fish and supplies. She's open 7 days a week too. Her place has common stuff plus fish like koi, ciclids, arrowana, parrot fish, flowerhorns, and even discus sometimes. Her prices are the cheapest I've seen compared to other shops and she's always friendly. Her English is basic but she's always willing give a deal if you buy a few things. While tanks aren't the most pristine, if you pick a healthy fish and quarantine correctly, you won't have an issue.

Lots of variety of fish but there are dead fish in some tanks and very crowded fish too. What I didn’t enjoy was that I walked in and the place was small and crowded and I was just browsing for a fish but I didn’t plan to buy any the day of and I was taking some photos of the fish to send to my friends for advice and a guy comes up to me rudely and says no photography and walks away. I felt really unwelcomed and I didn’t see any sign on the door saying no photography.

the owner of the store is extremely nice purchased 6 glow zebras and 4 baby white angel fish all very healthy no problem at all ,i have been to many pet shop before , too much risk from other pet store and the price was ridiculous and fish has disease and problems ,So i gave this place a try and i love it !!! above all the lady who helped me was very knowledgeable person , all i can say is i feel like winning a jack pot when i found this place !!!

Oof! I would say it's a great place to get fish and accessories for ur aquarium, I've been going here for a while now and there's no other place I would go but here! I would recommend for anyone to check it out! And for the people that say " its horrible and y'all fish be dying " bruh I bet half of y'all don't know about the proper fish care and sum called " quarantine" your fish first, here are some fishes I got from them in my tanks

Truthfully it’s a 4.5 but very amazing and beautiful fish some of them aren’t healthy but that’s common among all stores. Definitely come here if you want big fish but remember the price is reasonable and sometimes a little too much but definitely worth it. Coming back for a catfish(which I did but with a Oscar) I should say their nitrate and nitrite levels were buggy but it’s manageable

Clean reliable awesome attention not expensive like other places that want to charge you from the moment you touch there door knob .Peter who is the expert n Chris I believe it's his name sits right next to him both of them are the best nail artist there is in all sunset Park will never charge nail spot been with them 20 years n will follow him where they go to.

Shelley at the shop taught me everything I needed to know to set up a new aquarium, and assisted me with going through all the equipment piece by piece. Her staff were also very helpful. The fish looked healthy and every tank clean, we got some great glo and tiger fish! This will be the go to spot for all my family's fish needs from now on.

Very great place. The only issue I have is the water quality that the fishes are been kept in but to be honest I have more fishes died from pet store with crystal clean water than the fishes bought here. The price is right and they are always willing to help you out with suggestions and advice. Thus the five star rating.

Somewhat the place improved a little little bit such as having cleaner tanks but I still see dead fishes and a bit more some what friendly but it’s somewhat still unfriendly the lady doesn’t know anything in fact no one knows anything and they are pricey and infested with roaches and they are dirty

the old owner was the best she was reasonable these new owners are crooks save your money and walk down the block to south river aquarium.she charged me $25.00 for prime when he charges $18.00 and when i showed her she said (oh i charged you $24 prices go up and down)smh stay away

Awesome little shop. Selection is very good and they keep their tanks really clean and fish look healthy. Prices for smaller fish are very low compared to other shops. They’ll occasionally get something interesting/rare’ish (freshwater fish). Wish the shop were bigger!

This is an awesome mom and pop type shop. I was actually recommended here by a popular pet store employee. They have a bigger selection and some cool fish and lots of decorative stuff for your aquarium. They are very helpful. Pricing is great too.

Have been a customer for over a decade and it’s the only fish store that I haven’t not seen/gotten any diseased fishes besides a Betta that develop fungus but other than that, it’s a great store to purchase fishes for reasonable prices!

Very nice people run this store. They have a good selection of healthy fish. I could spend hours in this store just looking around but it's not an exhibit it's a store, so try to buy something even if you go just to look around

This is by far the cheapest fish local aquarium around. However, the goldfish is not in the best condition as a result. They always restock since they are able to sell fast. So you make the call. Cheap but not always healthy

Terrible. Small store & there’s no control over how many people are in there at a time. You are shoulder to shoulder & does not seem like they are careful about cleaning. Floors dirty, not good ventilation either.

Small shop I will admit, so expect to feel crowded especially when customers are walking around, however great prices compared to other shops I've visited, bought our black angelfish here at good price!

Great selection for fresh water fish which is a very hard thing to find in Brooklyn. Prices are great for fish that are considered rare and expensive show fish. I go here all the time!!! Great Place

Solid selection of aquariums and supplies for your fish. Prices are a bit high but they do have a vast selection. Very convenient iof in a rush and running out of food for our little guys. L & P

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and even help me find a lid for my non-standard aquarium. The store has a wide selection of freshwater fish, and even real Chinese and Thai goldfish.

A cool little fresh water fish shop on 8th Ave. They don't allow pictures but it is only goldfish and freshwater fish, and they have some tanks that are for sale slightly under market value

They have a very very big selection of aquatic life, and evening needed for your aquarium! The only thing I hate is the over loaded fish tanks! That’s why I didn’t leave a 5 star review!

Been going to this aquarium whenever I need to replenish my gold fish tank or getting fish food. They have reasonable prices, and the fishes are pretty healthy and active.

Dead fishes in the tanks careless for the fishes especially bettas the place is dirty and owners some what doesn't know about fishes or looks at you when you ask questions

Everytime we buy fish here, they die almost immediately or the following day! They pump air pressure right on the fish to fill the clear bag with air.

We bought a couple of loach, a crab..very nice customer Service and prices, specialty If you are a return customer, My fiance and I love this place!
