$114 robotic speeding ticket for going 32 in a 20 on a 6 lane main artery that police routinely race down in Lakeview. A human can sprint over 20 mph, and the average speed of a competitive cyclist over a 3-week mountainous enduro in the French Alps is 25 mph. What's the point of using an engine with a speed limit like that? There isn't a 1000' stretch in the entire city with properly timed lights, let alone complete signage or adequate paving. We're expected to get errands done at 20 mph while accommodating this mess? There isn't a soul in the city who has to hold a job and live their life who follows these rules, tax-taker or else. Nothing like a non-sensical double-standard to disaffect the population. Given the widely reported morale and hiring issues, seems reducing the uniform to a desk jockey who approves speed traps is just a great way to inspire public service.

I understand that this is one of the worst crime cities in America and has the minimal amount of staffing obviously from the lack of service and assistance you get when you go into an office or call 911. Also I have had to make multiple phone calls just to get assistance to get a copy that I must pay for out of my own pocket for a police report to give to a third-party for coverage. It should be something that’s filed publicly for the individual to access and request copies much easier than the process that they’ve been providing me and I still do not have that copy for this situation. Worst service I’ve ever seen and understandable as it is New Orleans I have learned.

Zero stars is the right rating for this department. Had accident and waited for 6 hours on the street at night for the police to show up, but they didn’t. Both the other party involved and I were afraid bc it was getting very late and dark (2:30am). So we went home and went to the P.D the next day just to be told it was our fault for not waiting until the police arrived. They refused to write a police report for us even though both sides willingly agreed to go to the P.D and give all the details needed. Now, we have to explain to our insurance company how we were denied a police report despite our efforts. Thank you NOPD. Thank you

My husband was roofied and robbed last night and woke up after being unconscious in a parking lot. The thieves stole his wallet, and 2 cell phones. He was tracking them on find my phone and he called the police multiple times throughout the day. Now 20 hours later they still haven’t shown up to file a report, and we have over $3,000 in fraudulent charges on our bank accounts, and the phones are dead so no more ability to track these losers. Way to go NOPD. Definitely makes me want to visit again and a place I would really feel safe.

I really wish there was a zero star review. My car was stolen YESTERDAY MORNING. I am STILL waiting for a cop to show up to take my report, and it’s been almost twenty four hours. I’ve called multiple times, only to be told that they’re busy and my request is “pending.” I just moved here three weeks ago, and my daughters and I were so excited for a fresh start here. No more. These are the most ridiculous, lazy, rudest people I’ve ever dealt with. Don’t waste your time….you’re on your own if you ever need help in this town.

I don’t know the ladies names but the one at the front desk and the especially the ones who did the background check were heaven sent. I was having such a hard day and it’s a hard process getting registered to work as a pharmacy technician in Louisiana and they helped me out more than they could ever know! I really wish I knew their names because from the reviews i wasn’t really expecting such hospitality(I believe that’s the right word) anyways in conclusion be nice to them because they’ll be super nice to you.

I blew out my knee and had to borrow a wheel chair from Royal Sonesta where we were staying. My husband and I had to get to the airport at 4 am. As we were struggling down Bourbon Street at 4 am, officer Simmons saw we were struggling and helped find our Uber, took our luggage so my husband could push me,, flagged down our uber, helped the driver get across Bourbon street and on top of that, he took the wheel chair back to the hotel. Now, THAT is true public service. He went above and beyond!

We are from out of state and our car window was busted out on Frenchmen. We called the police to make a report due to it being a rental and we have been here for over 3 hours waiting on the police to show up. We've called back multiple times only to be told to WAIT some more. This is the ABSOLUTE WORSE department I've ever had to deal with. If I could give them a negative 1,000,000 I WOULD!!!!! AWFUL JUST PLAIN AWFUL

I got in an accident two hours ago and an officer still hasn't shown up. I keep calling 911 and they just tell me the call is with dispatch. This is insane. Do your job. Seriously. UPDATE: Police officer T. Warren showed up after 2 hours & 45 minutes. He was very polite and helpful. This clearly is the mayor's fault for not staffing the police force properly

$75 for going 4 miles above the speed limit and they waited until I was well past my time in the City so it would be inconvenient and costly to fight. Most passive aggressive and deceitful policing I've ever seen and I've been to third world countries.
