Public Service announcements always encourage the community to call your local precinct or 3-1-1 for NON-EMERGENCY situations. This is all well and good IF someone would answer the phone! Calling 3-1-1 requires a half-day (or more) of patience, waiting for a HUMAN to come on the line. The same goes for the 121 Precinct - ring, ring, ring and IF you are lucky enough to get an answer, the INDIFFERENCE to your concern(s) is palpable - can't get you off the phone fast enough, won't listen to anything you have to say and for sure, your concern, complaint, etc. will go UNANSWERED. If you call 9-1-1, they refer you to the local precinct - so round and round it goes, will anyone ever answer? No one knows! I hope the Commanding Officer is reading these reviews and gets these guys and gals "on the stick" - we have FOUR (4) Precincts on Staten Island now, although it can get busy at times, at least answer the phone and take the caller's concerns with a modicum of seriousness. I mean REALLY. Get it together folks! Thank you!

my credit cards where stolen a couple of years ago . i relized it when discover card notified me of some transactions at the staten island mall . while these bandits where racking up my cards i called the precint two cops showed up and told me there is nothing they can do until i go to the precint and make a physical report. keep in mind these bandits where in the mall racking up my cards with the police present and notified. the security some guy named gatso (coward)was scared of the bandits and would not confront them and prevented me from confronting them . then i had to go to the precint in the area where i last used my card on bay st staten island i got 2 detectives they went to the mall days later and called me in to display 1 blurry picture . like i say the police focus on whats politically correct and convenient over whats right. i was not surprised by these results. my opinion is based on performance and observation from my own eyes.

Pulled over by officer D Tucker. Did not tell me what I did wrong just demanded my liscence. I asked him what I did wrong he just got angry and demanded liscence again. Did not give me his business card or reason for interaction as per new law. Told me I crossed yellow lines into parking lot that everybody goes to, meanwhile people doing it right behind us even while he had me pulled over. Didnt ask for my insurance then gave me a BS ticket for failure to produce documents, on top of crossing yellow line, which he said he was there giving summonses for. To top it off, he drove away afterwards without letting me give him proper insurance, and did not stop anyone else in the area. Clearly for quota and NOT for public safety because there are 4 other cars parked on sidewalk while hes doing this and he ignores them. Guys like him give good cops a bad name. See you in court oathbreaker.

Wanted to reach out to somebody because a 14 year old girl had approached my friends and I when we were at the mall carnival, I reached out to one of the offices and immediately got redirected because we were concerned for the girl’s safety. One of the lines that we had reached out to not once, but twice (had gotten redirected the second time) was unavailable. Very disappointed and I would not want to put my life on the line because we were not equipped or ready for a situation like this to happen to us nor can we be able to handle ourselves if god forbid we have gotten set up to get kidnapped or the girl herself got kidnapped, policemen PLEASE. DO. YOUR. JOB!!! Always follow up when it comes to somebody both seeing something AND saying something

I live out of state and, prior to New Year's, dealt with someone hacking an account and ordering $50+ of food from Domino's in Staten Island, New York. I got in contact with an officer and he eventually told me I could report it and to call a certain number and do it over the phone, as I am out of state. I called and the woman who answered told me that I would have to come in to file a report, as they can't do it over the phone. I then got an insincere sounding "I'm sorry" when I tried to explain what I had been told. TWO DIFFERENT RESPONSES! It is so infuriating that this occurred. I know that there is a lot that must be done, etc., but that was horrible. Can I file a report for the original issue/crime or is it a waste of time?

I'm currently (live) sitting in a parking lot where my vehicle endure a hit and run. I have been waiting for 3 + hours going on 4 for someone to help me. I was told that I am not urgent enough of a situation and will have to wait some more. A police officer did show up and quickly left. This is truly not okay leaving me here like this. This is a form of emergency someone hit my car and ran off. I do not feel good and here I sit. I only gave a two star due to officers actually showing up. It's not right to leave people waiting almost 4 hours. I feel I should be a priority as well.

POOR RESPONSE TIME OR NO RESPONSE AT ALL? SUBMITED COMPLAINT ABOUT MOWING LAWN AT 8AM ON A FEDERAL HOLIDAY (COLUMBUS DAY) AND AN HOUR LATER NO ACTION! MORE OFFICERS NEEDED ON DUTY TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND? I THINK NOT! LAW ENFORCEMENT? MORE LIKE LAW UNENFORCEMENT! WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS IF YOU CALL AND REPORT A FIGHT 20 OFFICERS WILL SHOW UP FOR THE PARTY BUT REPORT A NOISY NEIGHBOR AND BOOM, GHOST TOWN!

Thank you to all detectives that helped my family. Thank you to Detective Largo; Detective Perfetto; Detective Dorrigo and all their crew. We are so lucky to have these guys help keep us all safe . May God be with all of you and May God protect all of you and your families. Thank you for all you do. Forever grateful.

Had a car burglary in the middle of the night. The police came quick, and a lot of them, lol. They were nice and took their time. Even called me down to get the report and were very friendly. They have a beautiful new unique precinct too.

Are this people really here to protect and serve? Took my property (unreasonably seizure) now to get it back ; the whole police department went Ghost. Guess I need to go to the civil court. Violating people fundamental rights ‍♂️ …
