"It's just all kinds of problems at this place the librarians is just somebody you want to avoid if you have to go to this place because it's close to your house if you need help with anything or you have any problems they won't help you at all or they will have a nasty attitude about it or if you have a real problem they won't do nothing about it this is the only library that i seen so far with people coming in with their dogs now and freaks and people that you can't tell if they are a man or woman everyday i start to see even more racist people coming in everyday come far from McKinney all the way over to oak cliff Crack-Heads harassing chasing people down for money then talk real loud about what they did the whole day then after that then the librarians talk real loud talking about people laughing at them harassing then when somebody start fighting then that's when they want to call the police and do something about it and when the security guard comes in everybody gets quiet all at once it's because he will tell everybody about YOU and he will eat his phone up and not only that the librarians are a real snitch and they have a staring problem like they have their picks when it comes to the Kind of people that's coming in staring at you like why are you in here"

The North Oak Cliff branch of the Dallas Public Library is located adjacent to the Bishop Arts District, near Zang and Jefferson. This is one of my favorite parts of Dallas. It's growing rapidly and although the current parking lot is sufficient for current needs, overflow street parking might be an issue soon. Although the library is not located on a major street it's easy to find and easily visible from the street. There's a pretty cool mural to greet you, commemorating the neighborhood's Afro-American and Latino heritage. The lobby is small and leads to a compact area with used books for sale on the right and various books of possible interest displayed vertically on the left. A thigh-high display section separates the entrance area from the children's section, which is fairly small but proportionate to the size of the library. The same can be said of the fiction, non-fiction, YA, CDs and DVDs sections. There are an adequate number of computer stations but the work spaces are a bit tight. However, I rate this as definitely an above average library because of the low-key, friendly and helpful staff and just an overall good vibe. I feel comfortable here and am happy when I return.
Horrible, you should be informative when it comes to kids at certain age entering a library. Telling a 1yr old to be quite, doubt he'll be able to comprehend that. I know the situation I put myself in walking into this library with my 1year old and 5year old, but damn. What else can a father do but keep his kids in a (kids section). I tried my best keeping my son down but what can I say he's 1. If you claim you worked with children before than how come you don't understand that then. This used to be my favorite Library when I was a child, today I was reminded why I stopped coming to this place. Thanks!

I would give a 5 star if the staff can change that attitude or be more like irene
I love this place! A great place to study, read, or do a puzzle. The library does a great job of getting books to a convenient branch for you, and if they don't own the book, they may even purchase it! I've been super impressed with their service and now with extended hours it's even easier to take advantage of this delightful neighborhood spot.
Beware of who you come in contact with when you need help at this location. In attempting to reconcile a lost book, I was treated very rudely and no alternate solution was provided. I guess that is the world we live in now. People don’t care about being kind anymore even when working in an industry among the public/patrons.
I love this library branch! They have a wide selection of audiobooks (which I love), and a free high-quality scanner that anyone can use. This came in handy while I was taking online classes and needed to scan my homework in. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Keep up the good work!
This place has very nice staff and is very organized and helpful, though sometimes the people there can be ignorant of parents with disrespectful children. The activities here are wonderful like the Dia de Los Muertos Art Contest. I would reccomend this place.
Staff does not ask offensive people to leave. They let people take their shoes off and spread their food all over the desks. So if you enjoy smelling someones nasty foot odor, or cleaning up the table like a fast food joint, then this is the place for you.
Always liked this place, they have alot of books to choose from. Wish they had more Mexican American/Chicano history books though. I couldn't find much when I was there nonetheless its great quiet library.
Cozy little neighborhood branch. Lots of good books for my little ones. I largely use the Overdrive service for my own selections but having a library near home is so key to making literate children.
Everyone is extremely nice, always greeting you and actually help. Occasionally the volunteers are rude, but they don’t last so it doesn’t matter. Those might be where the rude reviews come from.
Love this DPL location! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I enjoy reserving books online and then picking them up in person. The DPL is doing a great job!
Good selection of DVDs until Kellyanne broke my DVD player in November 2016. They took our cable tv away in June of 2015. Did you know all libraries have Wi-Fi?
The people are so nice, and the library is heavily used and worn out. I believe a new library is coming, but enjoy going in to pick up the books I order.
2024 Bond Election: $17 Mill 18,000 sq ft & new books! First time to see electric keyboards in a public library. …
Horrible place. Hope it gets closed and moved out somewhere safer. This building is all sorts of a threat to visitors.
A quaint library with a good selection of materials. Kid friendly activities, including story time, are offered.
