I have been a long time customer of Northern Tool. Their products and customer service are still top of the line. However, I will caution anyone purchasing a large piece of equipment that needs to be put together by their service department. I have been dealing with the Service Manager (Darryl). I purchases a $12,000 one gun NorthStar Pressure Washing trailer as I started my own pressure washing business. I also paid extra to have the unit "made ready" by Northern Tool's Service Department. When I picked up the trailer I noticed the passenger side light was not as bright as the driver side one. Darryl brushed it off as "that's the way the light looks." I didn't agree with him and he said he would look at it but it would need to be left for a couple of week. Really Darryl? For a light bulb? I left the unit so they could take a look at it. A week after picking up the trailer from getting it's light bulb fixed, I was heading to my first job, I head a loud bang as I was hauling my trailer. I noticed the entire trailer buckled and later realized two bolts were not installed by the service department that carries the majority of the weight of the 200 gallon tank. The tool box was crushed by the weight of the tank. The service department forgot to install these vitals bolts! When I submitted a complaint to their corporate department, the responding email basically said I was responsible for reading the owner's manual that said I needed to make sure all bolts were tight. However, the service department forgot to install said bolts. I took the trailer back to Northern Tool and they installed the bolts. I picked up the trailer and headed to more jobs, only to notice that my tail lights were no longer working. The service department installed the bolts and crushed the tail light wires under the bolts, stripping the wires and causing the LED light to short. Based on my experience with the service department, I would not recommend anyone purchase something that needs to be put together here. Service department is very incompetent.

Absolutely amazing service. Adam went above and beyond with every question every product and even brought out store-use models and let me test them. Connie very helpful and made us feel welcome and appreciated as customers. Mike in service was also awesome and went out to floor to see if a product was interchangeable when he didn’t have to leave his service department area. Allen the manager was hustling and helping and at register checking-out customers...not what you see in sit-back-do-nothing managers. Whoever is in charge of hiring and coaching is also doing a dang awesome job. Somebody email the regional and district manager. This store needs that Hidden Boss show and give these guys some awesome vacation to Hawaii once this Covid19 thing is gone. If my businesses were in San Antonio I would sweet talk and steal these employees. Congrats and Thanks guys...all of you. JC

Northern Tool is a step above Harbor Freight. I went into the store to purchase a tire gauge. I've thrown away several cheap ones and wanted something more accurate. I found a hand-sized digital gauge for under $14. They have stuff organized fairly well, so it was not difficult to find what I needed. When I got to the register, there was 1 cashier and 2 people waiting in line behind the one checking out. Another cashier came and took the next person in line. When that person was finished, the cashier checked on the other cashier still with the same custome having an issue picking up an online order. After a minute, the 2nd cashier waved me over to take my money. It took me a fraction of the time of the 2nd customer to get checked out, and the 1st customer was still waiting on something to happen. I shop at this store regularly.

Northern Tool, this location in particular, blew me away with their customer service. To say that the Senior Sales Manager, David, (not to mention several other team members) took care of us would be a gross understatement. My order did not come in when promised, which was completely out is control. However, he 100% rectified the situation, thus saving us a lot of hassle. He was kind, thoughtful, professional and generous. It’s rare to experience this level of customer care, and we are very grateful to have been the recipients of this outstanding level of service. I’m not sure if it’s the training, management, or overall climate at Northern Tool, but I can assure you, they now have a family of lifelong customers! Thank y’all so much for all of your helpfulness.

Bought a 2.5 gallon ultra fine mist disinectant sprayer. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. Mist even under high pressure does not spray further than 1 foot away. Had techs look at machine and they said it had a clog as was fixed. Went to pick it up and asked to see how it worked. .... it didn't Then comes the beauty...they want you to have a receipt to return it it knowing FULL WELL they have it on their point of service computers and the worst part of it is that they'll argue with you that they dont...well at least Robert did. The lady behind the counter had already told me that she could. Long story short...they will try to make it difficult to return crsppy stuff.

I miss the posters and T-shirt supply that was about noise, and warning labels. Store is getting a little fancy relative to their old utility/matrix style of organization. Angled aisles, product item placement, billboards and brand grouping seems a little less like the bin and rack store I was used to. My 4yr old grandson loves coming here, and I can afford to build his toolbox slowly as he gets more skilled. Some of the items they carry are unique and necessary but can't be found on prime websites. I have found this to be a good tool supply for consumer grade or enthusiast alike, most of their inventory seems to avoid high end equipment, and pro grade.

Tim helped me pick out a spray unit with integrated pump, wiring harness, and seperate battery. Upon initial testing at home the electric motor on unit didn't work. I returned to store expecting a refund and more shopping around to find similar unit. Tim suggested exchanging for same item as it may have been a manufacturer dud however keeping consideration for future refund if a problem persisted. Figured worth a second chance. 2nd unit worked just fine and I'm ecstatic for how it fits my business needs! Tims knowledge and kind nature are a invaluable asset to the stores bottom line. Excellent job sir!

Sthil 170 chainsaw is the first product from sthil and it’s not worth buying. Seized up within 25 minutes of cutting wood and blisters between the fingers trying to start it.Give northern tools two thumbs down on the return they want to service and repair a product 3 days old instead of a new unit or upgraded unit. All and all I’d never recommend anything sthil it’s more like steal your money. Warranty, service, customer service is by far the worst I’ve dealt with for a tool that’s supposed to be top of the line. I rate them the worst for the dollar, so disappointed..I’d give a zero if I could.

I recently purchased a wall mounted oscillating fan from Northern Tool here in San Antonio. The product was great. What I’m reviewing is the customer service I received. Tim, the salesman the helped me, was outstanding. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He found the last item in stock and took it up to the front for me. When I checked out he came back to the front and brought it out to the car. In a time where customer service seems to be waning, he is a shining example of how it should be done. Tim, thank you so much for your excellent service.

I went to this store for the first time on July 12, 2921 around 1:10pm. I went specifically to purchase 4 of the storage containers that are on sale for $9.99. They were out of them, however an assosiate there told me they could order them online, however when I mentioned it at checkout, the cashier #300996 told me she was unable to order online. So I paid for my merchandise and went on my way. If I'm able to order online from my phone then what would be the issue ordering it at the store??? I feel as if the cashier just didn't want to do it

1st time buyer. I signed up & subscribed. Supposed to have $5 off 1st purchase, didn't matter as cart was $189 but it never showed up. Called service just because to maybe order on phone. He basically interrogated me. I advised I'm a possible 1st time buyer and may just get a cart from another source. He finally gave me a code that I should have already had & I purchased the cart easily online. Shipped to store here in SA of Loop 410. We see what happens... Now I do like the Tuff Garden cart. They have them at the nursery I shop!

Walked in looking for air tools and quickly found them. They were all locked up. I walked around the store looking for an employee to get the air hammer I wanted. I finally found someone in the back at service. He paged someone to go to the department. After waiting 10 minutes I walked to the front and asked one of the people operating a register. She paged someone and then I proceeded to wait an addition 10 minutes. At that point I left. I can get it on Amazon cheaper and faster. Customer service is terrible at this store.

Don't waste your time at this store. Management employees are here for pay check. Made online order, paid in advance. Received email order confirmation. Then got email not all items available because store doesn't work on online order until customer arrives even if you paid in advance . Management policy. If store walkin customers buy inventory out. Online customers do not get items. This is unsatisfactory to online customers. No customers service providered by management. Don't pickup here.

We came by to pick a pressure washer for our company, David was the gentleman that helped us with this experience. He answered all questions and gave us more information about the pressure going into all details. There isn’t one thing that we do not know now about this pressure washer and it’s thanks to David’s professionalism and knowledge. Trouble with final payment, on cart the is a Free Shipping on my order and on large items it specifically states Free Shipping, however when I finalize the payment it states someone will call me for shipping rates. I had to order today before sale ends. Okay if I have to pay shipping I'll cancel the order period. Website is too general when looking for items need more specific categories of items. The sale is good and that is why I gave 3 stars otherwise it would have been a 1 star.

My Dad and I went in there 2 days ago. We were looking to buy a Stihl pressure washer. We were helped by a guy named Tim. He was like Tim the Tool Man, he told us everything we needed to know about the pressure washer. His customer service was so good we ended up buying a Stihl pole saw. If you are looking for customer service this is the guy to go see. He was outstanding he even went out of his way to help load it on our vehicle. He also registered our tools online for us.

I have shopped at this place many times. They have a great selection of tools for many different trades. Most of their major products are tested name brands and are fine quality. They have lots of little items gadgets and fun stuff that will draw your attention and take your money. Some of them are high quality and some not so much. They almost always have what I'm looking for. Find staff that is helpful eager to make suggestions for special projects and concerns.

decades ago this was my tool store...then Harbor Freight . Home Depot, Lowes and even Walmart had tools I could use,,,but lately these other places went to bad cheap tools, bad customer service,, and prices started to jump,,,so I went back last week to NT and the place is amazing from years back...everything you need and appears to be good products..good service and the prices are better than others...they even had my name in their database after all these years

Worst return policy in the history of business. Bought a pressure washer. First time I tried to connect it the water hose connection fell off the machine. I brought back a few hours later with my time stamped receipt and was informed I could not return the item. I had to turn it into their repair shop and they would let me know something in 2-3 weeks. What a joke. I hadn’t shopped here in years anyway. Needless to say this will be my last visit. ‍♂️

Ordered online for store delivery. It shipped 4 days after I ordered and it has now been 18 days since it shipped and no one knows when it's arriving. Is someone walking it from the distribution center to TX? Is it attached to the back of someone's bike? In flight with a carrier pigeon? Will immediately return it if it ever arrives and if not I will be doing a charge back on my credit card since they told me they can only refund it once it arrives.

Website was fine ordering a $300 Milwaukee tool but picking was a pain. Instead of having a dedicated order pickup line you have to stand in line and wait which isn't that big of a deal so long as there was proper notification which this place does not. When addressing my concerns the check out lady just stated she just works there for the insurance. Having gone through this I'll just go to home Depot for Milwaukee tools.

Was just there waiting in line for way too long! There are literally more people in line than in the store. I saw several associates walk up, look at the line and then walk away??? I got angry and left, called the manager and for 10min I was left on hold I was able to drive to Lowes, stand in line, and purchase my item before the manager answered. Which they never did so I'm leaving this horrible review.

Its was my first time coming to this store. There is a lot of options on tools, gardening, and etc. It's similar to Harbor Freight but with better quality items. I would definitely be coming back to this store in the future. I do give it four stars because I to be greeted as soon as you walk in. You do have to go looking for someone to get help because they won't go up and ask if you need anything.

Just want to update April 2023, there's a gentleman there named Timothy G from the warehouse that went above and beyond helping me out and hope he gets the recognition he deserves. So far I've never had a problem with their sales reps. Every body has been very helpful in helping me find what I'm looking for. This place comes through for just about everything I need.

This is a pretty nice handy man store. Got a little bit of everything. You can find work clothes, work boots and gloves. There's replacement wheels for wheels barrels and tool boxes. Vehicle and motorcycle Jack's and jackstands. Compressors and big ole swap coolers. There's plenty of tools for just about every job a long with job boxes and tool boxes. Good spot.

I returned brand new trailer rims/tires that didn’t fit my trailer and the dude at the register said they look like we used them and weren’t gonna take em back because there was some leaves on them when we rolled them from my driveway to my truck. Wasn’t even a scratch on the rim or tire. I guess that’s how customers get treated when they want there money back.

Quick easy online ordering for store pickup. Would be nice if they delivered outside of a 20 mile radius of the store, they charge $19.99 within that 20 mile range. Charge a little extra for areas more than 20 miles in San Antonio. Even better would be free within 20 miles (or whatever max distance) and charge $19.99 or so for further areas.

Employees are rude at checkout. In store Employee that helped me was funny and friendly. Manager on duty (female) was not helpful or understanding. Last time I come here and spend my money. Only came here to this store was because my son wanted these items I bought that came out over 500 dollars. If I can put half a star or no star I would.

Ok, like harbor freight, but everything is just a little better quality in tools. Price point are good and they have a very good selection of Milwaukee 12v and 18v hand tools a big +for me as that's all I use. Try to check their specials and get your coupons to save even more, from duck tape to stihl chainsaws they have alot to offer.

I was looking for an extremely small screw or tubing for a particular item on my wrist watch. I had searched all over the city and it no one had it. This store did not have what I was looking for but they referred me to a different store that did thank you so much for answering the phone call and providing a great recommendation!

Everything was nice,clean,organized and orderly. The employees were nice and helpful. It was a pleasant place and nice atmosphere in general the only issue is a lot of their prices seem to have gone up. It's barely going to be worth going there anymore it's rather sad and used to be one of my favorite things to do.

My issue is that it took 8 times to finally make the purchase online. They have an issue if the shipping and billing address do not match. Why give the option to have a different shipping address if they deny the purchase, stating to contact credit card company. Stupid. The site itself is great.

You go into this store. And you can't find anybody to help you. This has happen more then one time. Last time I had to go into the stock room, to find a person to help me. The girls at the check out counter are very rude and slow. They make you feel, like you can go some where else.

It’s an OK experience but not exceptional customer experience. I find dealing online is a minimum two week if not longer wait for just about everything. The pricing is pretty high and as most things now it’s much more convenient, faster and cheaper to try Amazon first.
