"Such a heart felt place"
Definitely worth a visit. Many historic Texans and Fort Worth pioneers are buried here in this cemetery, founded on land donated by Fort Worth's most preeminent booster, first Mayor and successful businessman John Peter Smith. It appears everyone wanted to make their vault bigger, grander than the others!
My daddy is there and all my aunts and uncles granny and grandpa I go here all the time .my only problem with it is when they mow and move things they do no put them back family members spend a lot of money on flowers and thing that should be respected …
The board and staff at Oakwood have completely ruined my love for this place. My mom and several family is buried there and for the last couple of years they have taken steps to make my moms resting place not so restful. We asked permission
Almost all of my mom's side of my family, and including my husband, all reside here, since 1973 when my dad died. It's a beautiful historic cemetery where they still allow people to have real headstones and footstones, personal benches
Such a heart felt place. Beautiful grounds with historic context. Continued prayers for those who rest here and their families. Incredible chapel. Must see. Paying respect to all those who watch over the cemetary.
A few of my ancestors are buried at Oakwood Cemetery. Having moved to the Ft. Worth area I was compelled to visit the gravesite of my ancestors. I found the grounds very well kept.
The Who's - Who of early Ft. Worth are buried here. From cattle barons, gamblers, gun fighters etc... Grave stones and masoleums that are artwork in every way. Worth a visit.
Thanks a lot for through away $1,100.00 worth of flowers. Funeral was on a Friday, flowers were in trash can by Monday. You could have waited a week.
This is one of the most beautiful cemeteries that I have ever visited. I was also surprised to find that there is a bonus cemetery within.
Good and scenic graveyard Points are taken away for the lack of nighttime hours. It is hard to do good metal promo shoots in daylight
Very large cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
Perfectly quiet, serene and peaceful. We love how the place was maintained all year round.
Lovely Cemetery with some of Fort Worths founding families.
I love u mom so much never forgotten
GOD Bless them all .. Rest in peace
