This is a very clean station. The Janitorial staff frequently cleans after people who leave their Starbucks cups behind and can be seen EVERYWHERE if you need help or directions. The building sports a small food court and if you go early in the morning Cinnabon, Arby’s, and Halstead Street Bagel Company, are open. They have an okay Dunkin Doughnuts, at a certain time they stop selling sandwiches and fresh doughnuts. Avoid Benijyudah, as some of the staff whom are hard of hearing can not understand the words “No thank you!” To Cheese Wiz French fries (cold pimento cheese) . Then when they give them to you anyway they attempt to up charge you. On a separate occasion an employee walked out of the women’s restroom without washing her hands. So I now avoid it at all costs. Also, as of 9/13/22 at 7:45 security closes the women’s restroom. I went in before the cut off time and a security guard told everyone after me that the restroom was closed. I don’t know if it was an isolated incident, or now an unfortunate situation, but for those of you who depend upon using the restroom before you board a bus near the station, GO EARLY to avoid using the Men’s room. After 7:00pm the near by French Market restroom is usually closed, with the gate down. Let security know that if they try to tell you otherwise. Other than those two mistakes, it’s a pretty nice station.

Ogilvie Transportation Center is a nice downtown Metra train station with restaurants, bars, and stores. It serves the 3 Union Pacific lines: Northwest, North, and West. The ticket counter (open during all station hours) is upstairs by the platform entrances. You can also purchase tickets from the machines in the platform area. The customer service desk is by the platform too. There are two bars upstairs and a few stores. Downstairs on the main level you will find the food court and a few more stores. Overall, the communication in Ogilvie is good. If trains are delayed, or there are track changes, they will make announcements. Sometimes it's a bit hard to hear them clearly, so make sure to look at the screens to see your train's track and status. If you go downstairs through the platform area, you'll find the Metra Market concourse. There is the French Market which has groceries, restaurants, delis, coffee counters, and bakeries. There is also a bar called Ovie, a CVS, a hair salon, and nail salon. The bathrooms are cleaner on the Metra Market concourse. There is also a ticket counter (with limited hours) and ticket machine down there. Remember to buy your ticket if you're getting on a train at Ogilvie, otherwise the conductor will charge you a fee because the ticket counter/machine was available.

Awesome source or transportation to the surrounding cities and suburbs. Plenty of information in order for you to find the proper route to your destination. There are several places to eat inside as you wait for your train to arrive. Access to CTA is displayed in all areas for directional purpose and to insure clear understanding. Never took a Metra ride? Take a day and see what and where you can find your self in Illinois riding Metra, or just enjoy a traffic free commute to and from work. P.S the best way to get in and out of the city during sporting events, conventions and other activities.

Opposite to Union Station, OTC station is well maintained and clean train station. Most of the popular tourist destinations are in 20 min walk radius. The station has couple of souvenir stores, shopping stores and convenient stores. They have well maintained rest rooms in the lower floor. Food court selling different cuisine is also available. There is a glass waiting room too near to the train area. Checkout the recently opened Amazon go store ( shopping made fun without any human interaction)

Overall a decent transit center. I don't know if I'm missing it but it seems a bit odd there's no direct connection from the food court/Accenture Tower to the Metra Market concourse. It's not that big of a deal but I wish there was one inside. I suppose you could go out to the tracks and down the stairs. The bathrooms are usually always full and a bit cramped. There are a wealth of shopping and dining options, and a good amount of wayfinding signage. Overall this is a decent downtown station.

NO WATER: Since covid (4 years ago) they shut down the water fountains. It's insane, the temperature in the last few days has been 100+ degrees but after the downstairs promenade closes (about 7pm) it's NOT POSSIBLE TO GET DRINKING WATER anywhere in the building. The trains are sometimes late, sometimes on time and usually get you where you need to be. But asking $3 to buy a polluting single use bottle with 16oz of water is a polluting ripoff.

Clean place with a slim selection of merchants. They have your typical airport food like Amazon Go, Hudson News, etc. Due to the location you're going to be paying a hefty price if you shop here. There's a clearly mentally ill homeless guy that hangs out in the bathroom speaking nonsense to people while smelling worse than what is coming out of people's behinds though so be aware.

lol I’m a commuter I come here every day I was able to catch the faster train this morning so I took a nap on the food court table and some guy in a suit came and told me I can’t do that. I pay for the monthly pass every month and now I can’t sleep? Guess I won’t take the early train and just take the local train to get some extra z’s in, unless you want to throw me off that too

I'm a resident nearby. This train station keeps making that heavy engine noise from as early as 430am to as late as might night, which seriously bothers me and my bf. We can't get good rest almost every day thanks to it. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who complain about this noise issue. Why still no action like to build some noise blocks around? What a nightmare!

Ogilvie is really easy to get around they have all the train destinations and what land they're in posted easily to see. There are little fast food spots throughout the building that are a little expensive but it's because it's at a train station/downtown. There are other little stores and businesses also if you're waiting for a train or need to buy something.

Superb place. Information about the tracks are straight forward. Clear instructions are given for boarding the trains. Detailed information about the train stops are mentioned on the display boards. There is a large place for waiting in case the train gets delayed. Also there is a place to relax and have food at a food court with multiple restaurant chains.

Great! Went from Bloomington / Normal to Union Station by Amtrak. Got to Canal St, turned right on it, went up 2 blocks to Madison - turned left. Presto! Ogilvie to catch Metra UP-NW. Perfect timing. A flawless trip with a tuckered out cat. A 4 hour trip to home. Leave the driving to them.... And rest and relax. Great job ! AAA+++ …

Short, simple, to the point and FOOD. Basically your average train station, the only thing special about it is its proximity to downtown and how simple and easy it is to navigate. The food in recent years has gotten seemingly exponentially better with more variety and great places like Panda Express, Cinnabon, and Sbarro pizza.

Although clean and a good place to wait for a train the bathrooms are quite often full and have huge long lines. It is a clean station full of food and fun little shops. Would recommend as a station as they have a lot of in going and outgoing trains so you never have to wait more than 10 minutes for a train.

This place is very easy to navigate and close to Union Station. Easy 20 minute walk to Michigan Avenue as well. Late evening trains are supported with a warm place to wait for Metra and grab a cup of coffee or something to eat. This is a much better option than driving downtown. Costs about $15 round trip.

Great food court, typically always on schedule minus the few random times something causes a delay which is out of our control. Great train station for the commuter from western suburbs, taxis out front for quick pickups usually. Close to the river and Chicago water taxi near Madison/upper Wacker.

This train station has a lot of shops. While we waited, I got Starbucks, and my bf snuck and got me a rose from a flower shop there. They have an air conditioned waiting area, it's clean, the staff are polite and helpful. and it was easy to locate the train we needed.

Been a commuter for 6+ years now and the place has always been kept clean, trains here are consistently punctual and the service is always great. Don't be afraid to stop by the French market underground for food or the fast food places in the main lobby.

It's big enough to handle rush hour but small enough to easily navigate. Clean restrooms, food court and Amazon go. Signage at every train to help make sure you got the right one. Last train to the Northshore leaves at 12:35 am on a Saturday. (oct 2019)

The variety of transportation options available here is impressive. However, the food choices could use a bit of a refresh - more healthy options would be appreciated. Overall, a great hub for getting around Chicago!

Please if some senior can read this review please look at you workers unnecessary blocking the washroom under the name of cleaning and maintaince and no work at all just standing all customer are getting harassed.

Very brightly lit, exceptionally clean, well-manned security stations, excellent security camera coverage, and very nice ambience all make the OTC a wonderful waypoint on your day trip or on a longer journey too!

Very nice train station with plenty of restaurants to grab a bite to eat or grab a coffee to go. Usually very clean and well taken care of. Has a bar on second floor to grab a quick drink.

The Womens bathroom smelled very badly. It wasn’t crowded so why was it so smelly? Diligence needs to be exercised for a pleasant experience. The lady wiped the sinks and then left…..

There is a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Yolk Restaurant, other places to grab some food. Pretty clean and well built. Right across the street is Union Station also.

Great place to grab something to eat after you get off the train. Also plenty of stores for you to shop in case you have some time In between trains.

Beautiful interior, a bit like a European rail terminal or an airport. Through-running would be better then a stub ended terminal downtown, though!

Wish they had schedule on the monitors as big as the massive advertising screens instead of the tiny little screens which are very hard to see.

It's a nice, big building. I appreciated that it was easy to find what you're looking for. The ticket agent was very polite and helpful.

They removed all seating in the food court, leaving only high top tables for use only with take-out food, and a ten minute limit.

Only one restroom, and when they clean it, they close it for 45 minutes and expect you to just go across the street to a market.

If you don't use this on a frequent use it's hard to navigate not enough signs or enough help to get you where you need to go

Very good for saving money for military service members up north in school, also very big, clean, and has many food options.

This place was huge, loved all the market style food choices, had a great time eating and walking around with the family.

Clean transportation center never got lost I definitely recommend buying tickets on the Ventra app ahead of time.
