"Wowowowow"
Hello to all. I recently noticed a wear in my tire and as a result my tube was punctured. I decided to take my bike into mikes shop simply because I had a Groupon coupon for 20% off all services. Arrived at the shop with my bike and had explained that I needed a new tire and tube to be installed on my bike, MIKE then explained to me that would be no problem and an easy fix; would be ready next day. He had also said that my tire was roughly $50 including tube, MIKE also mentioned that my coupon was invaild but he would take it anyway ( coupon was valid and had Groupon code ) but said the 20% was only applied to labour costs so thus $50 for tire and tube I didn't expect labour costing more than $50-100 simply because replacing a popped tire is no big challenge and I was pressed for time otherwise I would have done it myself. So all is good and well until I arrive MIKE'S shop. So I went in and chatted for a little bit and he showed me the work on the rear tire where he had installed the new tire and tube, I said awesome looks great. When it got down to making payment FOR THE SERVICES I ASKED FOR, MIKE started saying that usually the fee is almost 300 dollars and then said with discount was around 250. I was shocked and confused as to how a regular quality tire and tube could possibly cost that much even with labour! I didn't over react and I honestly thought Mike was talking about some other number and not my actual total. In confusion I ask Mike politely "I'm confused, what are these numbers you are giving me" MIKE instantaneously took offense and crossed his arm with lots of attitude and said to me "oh, ok then. What were you expecting ? Why did you come to my shop? And can you get any better prices!" I was simply so repulsed by the way this man snapped and turned against me ( and remember I'm the customer that's paying 250 dollars for this stuck up attitude and a small bike repair) never-the-less Mike ensured me that my bike had a full tune up and inspection witch I did not ask for, not to mention I had to pack my bike in a car and witch required me to remove my front tire, witch is in fine condition. So when MIKE was working on the bike how did he do a full tune up and inspection if parts of the bike were missing?? By the end of this I made payment and remained polite and continued to tall about his coffee side buissnes and then left the shop with the feeling that I just got taken of the last 300 bucks I didn't even have lol in this time of need with covid-19 and CERB now I'm screwd all thanks to you MIKE, I HOPE YOU READ THIS AND REALIZE YOUR MISTAKES. :(
This is my favorite bike shop in Edmonton. These guys are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and non-judgmental. A lot of bike shops in the city have a certain atmosphere that intimidate some people, and the people can also be extremely unhelpful while charging loads for quick work. I've also waited two months for a tune-up before, which wasn't even done well. Probably won't happen here. The staff here are sincere and responsive. They fix things fast. I came in on a Sunday morning, right when they opened, because my chain was slack. I had gotten the bike serviced by OSC recently before so I called them previously and they said they would take care of it. Turns out my rear derailleur was shot! The guy who repaired my bike (I'm awful with names) said he could fix it in a few hours, even quicker if I grabbed the part from a bike shop down the street. I got the part and it ended up taking him less than 30 min. Only thing I would recommend is that they should sell more gear, it'd become my one-stop shop. OSC rocks! This shop earned my business and trust.
Yes, I would recommend. A serious place for serious buyers. I bought a used, refurbished mountain bike from Mike the summer prior. Not the store, but from himself directly (it's a side hobby of his, which shows how crazy the gentleman must be about bikes !), a 2006 Kona Hoss-Dee-Lux for $400 (heavy-duty bikes that can take a hard-core pounding). After some moderate usage, I had to replace the fork (a crappy, worn out Zoom) and the front derailleur which turn out to be cracked. But despite this, the Kona was still a good deal and I'm happy I could get my hands on it. Mike did some on-the-spot modifications I had asked and charged me a big fat $0. It's a nice shop with quality bikes and a (small) choice of attractive and quality components, especially if you're looking for stylish city bikes. Totally the place. I remember trying to get a conversation going with the 2 mechanics that were working in their respective pens while Mike was in the back getting my Kona ready, but to no avail - these guys are focused !
For the past couple of years I've been getting back into cycling both as a way to commute and for recreation. When my first bike broke last year Mike's shop was recommended to me so I headed in. As an overweight cyclist riding a cheap CCM Canadian Tire bike I was nervous about going in, but it turns out I had nothing to be concerned about. My favorite thing about Mike's shop is that they take the time to walk you through the bike, explaining what might be wrong and how they might proceed to fix it. It doesn't matter what kind of bike you have or where you purchased it from. I've been back multiple times since my first visit (including this week and with a much nicer bike) and each time is the same - everyone is courteous and takes the time to listen to your issue. There is always opportunity to learn new things during the process and I've never had to wait long to get my bike back to ride. Thanks again for all the help and I will be sure to keep coming back!
Wowowowow. Most people on Whyte Avenue may not know that Mike's has been serving espresso based drinks to go and to stay. The upstairs mezzanine is amazing. Old Strathcona at its finest. Grab your drink and check out the antique knick knacks upstairs. ALSO it is the best latte I can get on the Avenue. Check out the new hours and check it out. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. Reopened down the street!! The location is awesome. It is 101 street beside the Diver shop. Sadly some thing's come to an end. Closed now. Opening March 1 2020 at a new location!!!! Are all bike shops the same? Nope. Why, because you trust restaurants that the owners run. I do. Mike runs the place and is there 5 of six days before summer and 7 then ....almost always there. My bike that I bought ( $1800) has needed one free service in 3 years of ownership. It is the best quality bike I have owned of at least 20. Def give it a look.
Good place for tune up. Problem is they focus so much on 24 hour turn around they neglect other services. Asked to have brake work done on top of tune up, couldn't fix it and didnt want to spend more time on it to get their 24 hour turn around, but they still charged me for it. Got it done at a different lbs and asked the mechanic how difficult it was, he just shrugged and said it was standard, nothing out if the ordinary. It's like ordering a pizza and wings and the restaurant guarantee 1 hour delivery, but only getting the pizza because the wings would have taken too long but still getting charged for the whole order. It's not as if they advertise 24 hour turn around or it's free. There's literally no consequence on their end to get it done. 36 hour turn around with a working bike is better than a 24 hour turn around with a none working bike especially when the bill is the same.
took my girlfriends bike in last week for some work and was pleasantly surprised at how quick they were able to fix it. I thought I'd have to leave it there over the weekend but 10 maybe 15 minutes later it was fixed and I was on my way. I'd chosen this shop over others closer to me based on reviews I'd read, and I'm happy I let those reviews guide me here. The work being done on the bike was all explained to me as it was being done so I even gained some knowledge for some small fixes should they arise in the future. Really impressed with the shop and very knowledgeable staff and little Charlie was very friendly too. This will be my go to shop for anything bike related and particularly when my son gets his first bike!
During the summer I was searching for a shop that could service my bike without it sitting in a shop for days/weeks as I commute daily with it. I noted the positive reviews on Mike's and gave it a shot. I was glad I did!! I dropped my bike off one day and picked it up the next - running like new. Not only does Mike and his team do great job, they also take the time to take you through the work they do. In addition to servicing bikes - they have a decent selection of bikes in stock. Getting ready for winter rides, I just picked up a fat tire bike from them. Just like bike service - a great experience throughout this purchase. I highly recommend this local bike shop. Give them a try!!!
A highly recommended bike shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who take good care of their customers. I had a fender installed on my bike back in May. Recently, I noticed that the one of nuts had come off and the bolt was rubbing against the back tire. I went to the shop and someone fixed the problem in a couple of minutes. And while he was at it, he also adjusted the pressure in the tires (I'm sorry I didn't ask for his name). When he was done, I asked how much it cost me and was told "Nothing!" Thank you, Old Strathcona Cycles. I'll certainly be back when my bike needs a tune-up.
Friendly, fast bike maintenance that won’t break the bank. You can tell Mike & Jake love what they do, will take the time to explain what they’ve done & not charge you a ridiculous amount for their time although they are worth a whole lot more. I took the Bike 101 course there & it was incredibly eye-opening and worth every penny. Happy to support this little local business. (Sorry this review took me so long Mike!! Really appreciated your help with my son’s bike last year & will see you probably very soon as he is prone to breaking it). :)
Mindy (I think) is the nicest person in the entire world and made me so comfortable in my new/used bike purchase after I was in an accident. I was allowed to test drive the bike, and they adjusted everything to my liking to make sure I was comfortable. I felt no pressure at all to purchase, but luckily found exactly what I was looking for. Went back the next day to pick up the bike and the man working even installed my new bell for me. I would recommend this place to anyone, including beginner bikers like me.
So happy with the service at Mike's! The technician spent lots of time and effort with the repairs on our bike, they went above and beyond and did an amazing job at a great price. Thanks!! Updating to add my most recent experience: 10000/10, Mike's Bikes and Beans is the best!! Upgraded my mountain bike with a whole new drivetrain and it rides beautifully now. Also a full tune up, these folks really know what they're doing. Such friendly service, Mindy and Dave were fantastic!! Thanks again!!!! ❤️
I went in for a quick repair expecting to leave my bike at the very least overnight but they were able to do it right there on the spot, I was in and out in about 10mins! I was in again the next day for the same repair and even though it was clearly vandalism, Mike only charged me for the part (and not the labour). For me, this was customer service well beyond my expectations. I will always happily return to and highly recommend Mikes Bikes and Beans for all my/your bike needs!
I walked in with my kid's bike today (needed a new shift cable installed). The mechanic (Mike???) stopped what he was doing with another bike, analyzed the problem, and got to work. 15 minutes later we had a new shift cable and cable housing installed and we were out the door with a perfectly functioning bike. Final bill was $37. I offered him $50 ... he would only take $40. He has earned ALL our future bike business and he should get your's too. This kind of service is rare.
I brought my road bike in a couple weeks ago, the young lad who took my bike went over everything and explained what needed to be done in the tune up. I had follow up questions later, and emailed the shop. The response I received was beyond my expectations and I appreciated the care and attention taken to my query. Pick up was on time, again, went over everything that was done, answered my questions, and the next ride on the bike was like it was a new bike again. Thank you!
Anything less than five stars for this place is a crime. Old Strathcona Cycles is a community hub where upon entry you feel like you've entered a neighborhood coffee shop or bar. Very knowledgeable staff with a kind and caring atmosphere means that your needs with your two-wheel companion will be met. Also bonus points for being a big community supporter. Fringe posters plaster the front window and for me that's always a good sign. Thank you! Thank you!
Quick, no BS, fair prices. They never try to upsell you, you barely have to wait, and they have amazing new and used bikes, unpretentious and good quality. My entire family now go here, no line-ups, they know bikes and know how to stream customers through properly/quickly, and they are not "bike snobs". I am just mad I didn't know about these guys sooner. Best business to hit Old Strathcona yet. For the average cyclist, there is no better bike shop.
Loved my experience at Mike’s Bikes and Beans! Went in for a couple issues and they were diagnosed in minutes. Mike recommended the exact fixes I needed and associated costs. Definitely did not overcharge or advise me to have unnecessary work or replacements. The appointment free 24 hour turn around service was very convenient, and they stuck to their word. Really great team of employees all around, I will definitely be returning!
Mindy and Dave were incredible yesterday - I brought my bike in with a flat tire, it was fixed within 15 minutes, and they warned me that it looked very suspicious and could have been someone slashing my tire. I'm following up with campus security (happened at the UofA). They were very friendly, and Mindy in particular was very clear about pros, cons, and prices. This is my go-to shop and we're lucky to have them in the area!
I have brought my Bike into the establishment a few times now for my needs. Everytime service is prompt and they will work through what the problem is with you there and not behind a curtain ha ha. Got my bike running in tip top form. Will continue to bring my bike here for all my needs and will suggest to anyone who wants to hear it that they should come here as well! Keep up the fantastic work!
I discovered Mike's Bikes and Beans on Google and am so glad I did. The location and parking are very convenient. I loved the personalized service when I brought in my bike that needed a lot of work. Mike explained everything beforehand and gave me an estimate. I have confidence that he is honest and ethical. He now has a new regular customer for any future maintenance needs. Thanks Mike.
My bike and Mike are excellent. I bought a very high end bike and the service has been high end for sure. I enjoy still going for the odd cup of coffee as the owner and staff are actually happy to see me. The coffee is amazing and apparently fair trade and all that. Any noise about him dealing in stolen bikes is just hooey. Why people makeup stories to ruin reputations is just ludacris.
Bought a used bike a few weeks from them. AD said it was good to go and as good as it can get for a used bike. 1st ride the rear brake rotor came off with in 5 mins as I found out it only had 1 bolt holding it in. Rear brake was almost 0 pressure once a new rotor went on. Chain was to small preventing shifting to lowest gear on the rear derailleur. Double check the bikes before buying.
Mike is knowledgeable and very nice and I expected a lot from my basic tune up. Paid 200 dollars for the work but chain slipped when I took the bike out and pedaling isn't smooth but clicky. When I took it back the technician acted as if I'd done something wrong when trust me I'm a scaredy cat who won't make changes after a tune up. Late for work and had to take a cab. Not pleased.
Mike truly loves Bikes. I purchased an Emmo Monster Scooter and didn’t have a clue how to assemble it. Reached out to Mike. Albeit not in his wheelhouse gave me options and suggestions to get the job done. Very Professional & responsive in less than 48hrs of delivery I had a fully assembled and working E-Scooter. Highly recommended! For all your bike needs. Honest Guy & good team
Such an amazing shop!!! The staff are super awesome to talk to, very knowledgeable, personable, and most importantly passionate about what they do. I got a gravel bike from them and its awesome it comes with a year free of service's/labor repairs. Repairs are super quick and cost effective, and they know what they are doing. :) would 1000% recommend and I do to all my friends!!
Friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and honest. Three times now I've taken my bike in for minor issues and they've done the work on the spot, no appointment and haven't even charged me! So I wanted to make sure to give them a 5 star review for being so awesome. Now I almost want something to go wrong with my bike so I can take it here and actually pay them for once.
Just had a full tuneup with 2.5 hour turnaround. Was quite pleased, but wanted a little adjustment, which was done promptly. Was running through gears, and and snapped my rear axle. Brought it back and they were E able to quickly get me a new one installed. I am very happy with quick knowledgeable, and quality service. I will definitely be coming back next service.
Very helpful on numerous occasions! Here is a recent example: I was missing parts for installing a child seat and they were happy to provided them at no charge. I found them to be courteous and have also witnessed them giving back to the community by giving free tune-ups during Bonnie Fest. So grateful to have this shop in our neighborhood! Keep up the great work!
Amazing experience! Walked in on a Friday afternoon, and was in and out in maybe 15 mins? Needed a quick gear adjustment, but the technicians were super friendly and knowledgeable. They explained everything that they were doing, put air in the tires, and the charge was only $20! Will definitely be back when I need a tune up, and will recommend them to everyone.
Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Competitive prices. Bonus: quick turnaround on tune-ups and repairs! Located in the French Quarter, the proprietor, Sabin (Mike) is bilingual as well. Prior to opening his own place he worked at other local shops as well as buying used bikes from garage sales and refurbishing them. I highly recommend visiting.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Mindy listened to my issues about my bike, then took the time to check the bike and explain to me her thoughts on how she might go about servicing it. More importantly, she was patient with me as a novice and took the time to teach me how to use my gears properly. She was knowledgeable, thorough and kind. Thank you!
Mike is an awesome guy and he is very knowledgeable. His shop is very welcoming and it is always a pleasure going there. He does not pressure you to buy anything or say yes to any service he talks about. He takes his time to explain everything to make sure that you are making an informed decision. Keep at it Mike you're definitely my go to LBS now.
Ive gone to Old Strathcona Cycles for both parts and a full tune up. Every time Ive gone to the shop Ive had a not only a wonderful experience professionally, but personally too. Mindy and David are a wealth of knowledge and just a good time to learn from and hangout with, thanks for the great service! Looking forward to getting my next bike here!
First off, those ridiculous reviews about stolen bikes being sold by this business is an anemic lie. The Owner Mr. Sabin is an honest and hard working person. It is ridiculous to challenge Mr. Sabin's integrity . The owner and staff is friendly and professional. I recommend anyone looking for a bicycle to shop at Mike's Bikes and Beans.
Customer service is out-of-this-world! Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. My husband got the bike of his dreams for a really good price, and I wanted a check up for my 80s bike, I wasn't even charged for the small touch ups the bike needed, they save your time and money! From now on it's my go-to for my bike needs. ❤️
Just commenting to say Dave was awesome at OSC, just popped in last Friday to get my derailleur looked at and lo! The man checked over my whole bike and lubed it up real nice. I will be coming back with my partners bike just for the great customer service and I've already recommended OSC to several of my friends and family!
My favorite bike shop in town. Mike is passionate and just full of knowledge when it comes to bikes. He made great recommendations for servicing my bike and definitely doesn't over charge for anything. When I brought bike in, he will go through each part of the bike and explain what he needs to do and why. Great local shop!
Had to get a punctured tire fixed today. In and out in 10 minutes, with super friendly service. These guys have been working extra hard during this COVID craziness, and they’re doing it all with a positive attitude and community spirit in mind. Will definitely return when I inevitably run over another sharp object.
I broke a spoke and needed it replaced. Being spring, it's a busy time for shops and my regular bike shop was going to take two weeks. I stumbled across Mike's Bikes and they were great. Really friendly and knowledgeable. They had me fixed up within a few hours. Looks like I found my new go-to bike repair shop.
After several recommendations by friends, I checked out Mike's for a spring tune up. Easily the best costumer service I've experienced in a bike shop. On top of that Mike took the time to carefully outline what work needed to be done and showed me what to look for in regards to wear and tear. Great local shop!
Great service and lovely people! They have assisted me in modifying and repairing my custom bike and are always super friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Smaller jobs have been sometimes been completed while I waited and the mechanic will go over what he's done and how to do it. I highly recommend this shop!
Just picked up my bike am extremely satisfied with the service! They did an initial inspection explaining what they would be looking for and recommended what type of tune up I should go with. When I picked up, they went over it again and you can’t beat that 24/hr turnaround. I’ll be going back next season!
Big thanks to Jake and the hard working men here! Was able to get same day service at a fair price, when a broken chain threw a wrench in my ride. My 15 year old Norco Shore is gliding like new after recieving a well needed tune up! Would highly recommend this great local business! Cheers and happy trails!
I am a 60 year old rider of a recumbent tricycle. When I have had a mechanical issue I have brought it to Mike. Problems always resolved. I find that Mike is a rare breed, he is more of a craftsman than a technician. If you value working with a fair, competent, honest business man. This is the place to go.
Needed a new part for my bike and was being told by other stores I would have to purchase it myself. Thankfully someone at Old Strathcona Bicycles thought ahead and hoarded a bunch of parts. Now usually hoarding is bad but when I went in and got everything fixed in a few minutes it sure felt good.
I'm so impressed with Mike's Bikes! I took my bike there last week and the staff member took about 15 minutes just to explain to me how my bike works, and did a thorough check right in front of me of all the parts. The staff member was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!
I brought my bike there to get fixed and the folks there went above and beyond in terms of not only fixing but providing tips. In addition, they were super friendly and really knowledgeable. Got my bike fixed and the charges were super reasonable. Kudos and highly recommended.
Mike and his team have been extremely helpful. I purchased a reconditioned bicycle from them, and when there was an issue with the derailleur, Mike personally took the bike in and fixed the issue. This was the type of service that sets them apart, and I highly recommend them.
My friend brought his bike in to the shop to get a new tire this guy charged my buddy 240 dollars for a basic tube will not go back truly disappointed and also he tried fighting him over the pricing my buddy asked about his prices and he got mad at him asking basic questioned
I had a great experience taking my bike here. Mike is very thorough, extremely welcoming and displays a clear authentic passion for bikes. I'm just getting back into biking and Mike got my 10 year old bike working like new again. I would recommend this LBS to anyone I know.
I’m not sure I’ve ever had a better customer experience in my life. Mike and Jake are genuinely invested in making sure you get the right bike/right service. Reasonable prices and very approachable atmosphere too, which is not something you can always say about bike shops.
My experience here was terrific. The explanation of what needed to be done was clear and the turn around time exceeded my expectations. A bike that has sentimental value to me was brought back to life. It rides as well if not better then when I originally purchased it.
Don't know another bike shop in town that can give such good service AND such fast turn around. These guys are awesome and give great advice. They don't push sales they just give good information. Has to be the weirdest name for a bike shop I've ever seen though :)
The staff is great, expert advice as to just what's needed with no upsell or unnecessary parts. Their are extremely helpful and it shows that they just want to do the best job possible. Next day pickup is great. My go-to bike shop now, oh, the coffee's boss too.
We had a really great experience here with friendly knowledgeable staff. We needed our bike repaired and they had it done the next day !! The cost was very reasonable !! When the time comes again these are the people to see !!Thank you ✌️ Keep Riding …
I'm so happy I stumbled upon Mike's Bikes and Beans when I first moved to Edmonton! The staff is very friendly and efficient. I was well informed with all of my questions and concerns on purchasing a new bike to fit my needs. The coffee is also delish!! :p
What a great bike shop! I’m not an avid bike rider by any means, just a 30-something dad trying to stay active with his kids. The repair team is fast (24hrs or less!), informative, fairly priced, and re-juvinated my old bike to better than new condition.
Very welcoming, very professional and they get the job done quickly, overnight in fact. Very impressed with the positive “can do” attitude and friendliness. Well done on my bike tuneup.I can recommend this as the best bike shop I have been in.
Great customer service, been coming here for a couple years for any little inquires my mom and I have regarding our bikes. Very insightful/helpful throughout our entire process. Would easily refer people here without any hesitation!
For my bike's required repairs the turn around time and attention paid to explaining the work it needed could not be beat. Enjoying a great latte while perusing the new and used bike selection was an added bonus ~ a gem of a shop.
Excellent customer service and great selection of bikes with affordable prices. The staff really cares about the customer needs and they clearly know their trade. On top of that, they offer good coffee. Definitely recommend!
Great local bike shop! The staff here are such lovely people and know their stuff. They replaced my brake cable on the spot, showed me how to do it myself, and helped me fix a few other things. Plus they have a cute dog ☺️
Loved that they loved my bike as much as I do! Fast service, 24 hour turnaround for tune ups, knowledgeable staff, friendly, and fairly priced. They couldn't fix my tubeless tire but threw a tube in and I'm ready to shred!
I am so happy this place opened up on Whyte. Mike is sooo friendly and welcoming. I like walking into a place and feeling like the people there love being there, and that was obvious immediately. Please support this place!
Simply the best experience we've had at a repair shop. Mindy was friendly, informative and did great work. Very transparent and no hidden costs... Plus because it was a slow day we had our bike back in a matter of hours!
I was riding with friend, and his bike not shifting cleanly. We popped in, and they worked on his bike immediately. They made a few adjustments, and got us on road in 10 minutes. The best service in the city.
Excellent small business with phenomenal and knowledgeable staff. I came into my bike seat and I left with a bike seat but I also left with a lot more knowledge and a smile on my face from the friendly staff.
The staff here are great. She took the time to listen to my problem with the bike and came up with a few solutions that would work. Really grateful for her help! Would definitely come back for future issues.
Increasingly rare; Owner-operator, local bike shop invested in all age/kind of customers, all types of bikes. Love that my neighbourhood still has this, and the owner cares about his customers and his trade.
It's great here! New location same great service. They restore old bikes that are for sale and sell new! They also offer bike repair classes and plan to have a cafe upstairs (once covid restrictions lift).
Other places said two week wait - Old Strathcona Cycles had it done in less than 24 hours. Full maintenance at a good price, so feels like almost a new bike. I'll be returning when I need something done.
Went in looking for a commuter bike. No pressure at all, wasn't up-sold on anything just helped me get the basics. Excellent and knowledgeable service. Will definitely come back for any maintenance work.
I think the staff really knows their stuff although they seemed like they were not very interested in giving advice because I bought my bike from a different store... It felt like he was a bit impatient.
Mindy and Dave are amazing. This is our exclusive shop for anything bikes. Honest, reliable and super friendly service along with the quickest turn around time in the city. Do not go anywhere else!
Saved me and my poor bike. Did a tune up with a smile and a warm atmosphere and got it riding like gold without a drop of judgement on her shape. I highly recommend stopping by for your bike needs
Very nice guy, explained everything that needs to be to me in detail, gave me some tips and of course did a good job in a timely manner. I would definitely be coming back for my biking needs :)
I took my new electic bike into this shop yesterday to be unpacked from shipping and set up for my first ride. I received excellent ( 24 hour!) service and I highly recommend this business!
Old Strathcona Cycle rocks! Service is great, 24 hour turn around, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I came in with a snapped cable and was in and out in less than an hour. Support local!
Broke my chain en route to work came by on my coffee break Got everything fixed even did some minor maintenance on the bike to get me in shape to get myself home Couldn’t recommend more
Went out for first spring ride today. Had a full tune up last October and still cannot believe it is the same bike. My 10 year old bike is as good as new. Great job and speedy service.
Superlative! The only shop that I have been to in Edmonton where money is not the most important thing to the shop. Great prices and even better service! Great Dad jokes are welcome.
Needed a bike last minute for a touring trip and these guys excelled in perfecting my setup! Cute local shop w great prices and solid tips. S/o to Mindy and Dave for all their help!
Knowledgeable and friendly staff... decent prices for the convenient location...this is my second time going and I can't see why I wouldn't return. Best of luck this riding season.
This store is awsome. Mike is very friendly, hardworking and honest guy who simply loves his job. I miss such attitude in Europe sometimes. I recommend everyone to pop in and see.
A very helpful bike shop with better coffee than most actual coffee shops. We got a super secure lock and a cute basket for my partners bicycle, and a lovely Americano for me.
Wondered in looking for a lock which they didn’t have but the gentleman working was very helpful and sold me a great security system for my bike that connects with my phone.
The shop is awesome. The owner seems very focused on quality and customer service ( speaks like 5 languages, always playing cool songs). I always left completely satisfied.
Great folks, clearly explained what they can do for me and when I picked up my bike what was done! Their magic elves had my bike back on the road unbelievably quickly.
The staff are super knowledgeable and did a great job with our bikes on the spot. We changed out our seats and had a brake tune-up on one of the bikes. Great service!
Came in today with a bent up rim and was looked after by Jake. Jake went above and beyond for me today making sure my grandmas bike was good to go for this season.
Amazing experience. Very knowledgeable employee. Great selection of products for sale. We are looking forward to our next purchase or bike repair. Thank you.
Old Strathcona Cycle is the best shop in the city. Very friendly staff.. Shoutout to Joey!! Really helpful and cooperative employee. Keep the good work!!
Brought my tire here to get patched last week. Ladies working were very friendly and helpful. Even let my pup come in and wait with me while I waited.
Wonderful experience getting my first "grown up" bike. I had no idea what I was doing and they were very patient with all my questions! Thank you!
FANTASTIC place! Very helpful staff who got our bikes up and fully tuned within 24hr. Will return and will highly recommend as a great spot.
We're very helpful, fast and had what I needed, after waiting for 8 weeks using United cycle I gave up and tried Mike's and very happy I did
Wonderful people work here. They did an amazing and fast job, and provided me with a lot of useful information, I ended up learning a lot!
By far the best place for service and quality. Highly recommend OSC for repairs, and they have lots of interesting bikes for sale as well.
Great pricing and services, educational, queer friendly, and comes with a little old man pug who quietly follows you around the store
