Olympic Park railway station is located on the Olympic Park line, serving the Sydney suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. It is served by Sydney Trains T7 Olympic Park Line services. Olympic Park station was designed to support large crowds travelling to and from the stadiums and sports grounds built for the 2000 Summer Olympics. The station and sports facilities were retained after the games. The design of the station by Hassell has been critically acclaimed by many. It has won the 1998 BHP Colorbond Award for innovative use of steel architecture, and the 1998 Sir John Sulman Medal, from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. It was built by Leighton Contractors. It was opened by Premier of New South Wales Bob Carr on 8 March 1998. The station is located on a single track balloon loop spur line, but the station itself has 2 tracks and 4 platform faces. Ordinarily, the center island platform is used for both boarding and alighting, but this changes when the station is operating in major event mode. In this mode, the center island platform is used by alighting passengers and the two side platforms are brought into use for boarding passengers.
It is a great idea to cover the station from the up side of the station.the station is very busy at the morning because of people's office and etc.the station looks like it's underground but it's not and it's a great station.the T7 Olympic park service goes to station and if you can't get it you have to get a train from your nearest train station and you have to check that the train will go through lidcome station or not if not you have to change at lidcome and then you can come to Olympic park train station by taking a train from lidcome it's a wonderful station. you can go to the station at weekends.
Clean platform and entrance area with bathrooms located right near the entrance closet to the Stadium. There is a small entrance located the opposite end of the state located opposite the NRMA with a ticket scanner and stairs direct to platform saving time going to the other end. Never really busy except during events and with trains coming at regular times. Overall one of the nicest platforms and stations to use in the City Rail network! Also in case you're in need there's no ticket/opal needed to access the toilets for this platform!
Originally built for the 2000 Olympics this station has no problem handling crowds when major events such as concerts or sporting events are taking place at Olympic Park. Main downside is that when there isn’t a major event on, there are no direct trains to Strathfield or Central so you have to travel to Lidcombe and change to an irregular shuttle train service. The surrounding area is developed quite substantially with residential towers so you now get food and drink which wasn’t always the case.
That is one in all my favorite stations at the t7 line, nicely it is the only station as it's miles immediate line trains are rapid and car clean to get admission to there is a lot a meals placers across the station and close to the wearing grounds. I deliver these four/five stars due to ease of travel but it looses one factor as on the primary entrance on the anz stadium facet the opal unmarried price tag self-provider could be very tough to see but the entirety is top-notch with this station.
This train station is very peaceful and pleasant. The train goes to Lidcombe station as the next stop, where you can switch to travel to the city or suburbs. It's an extremely clean, spacious, and well-kept railway station. It's a modern train station that handles event traffic really well, whether it's for the Royal Easter Show, music concerts, or football matches. There are plenty of restaurants in the area around the station, and it's conveniently close to sporting grounds.
Arrived here to find a train siiting at the station with the doors open and was clearly seen by the gaurd. He closed the doors and left He couldn't even wait ten seconds for me to jump on. When he went past, he gave me a smug shrug of the shoulder like i'm scum. Worse service i've ever got. This station has got worse for service. There's trains every 20 min now. I'm wondering what's next, 30 min wait?
It's a good train station.. it can have a lot of people but still can accommodate.. specially when there is an event in Sydney Olympic Park, this train station plays a big role for people who wants to take a public transport. Trains are pretty frequent and they also have fresh rooms in case you need. The location is very nice and convenient. The interior is beautiful..
Very quiet and nice station as train goes to Lidcomb station next stop, wherein you can interchange to city or suburbs. Very clean huge and well maintained railway station. Modern train station that copes well with event traffic - Royal Easter Show, music concert, match. Lots of restaurants around the station and very close to sporting grounds.
The station is architecturally impressive and offers convenient access to Accor Stadium. When the stadium is at capacity, the station struggles to transport passengers home however. It reinforces the need for a higher capacity, higher frequency rapid transit service like Sydney Metro West.
Really good train station, with trains running every 10 minutes to Lidcombe from platform 3. Passengers going to ANZ stadium should leave the station at the exit nearest to the rear of the train's travelling direction from Lidcombe. Buses depart from the exit at the front end of the train.
Sydney trains access to Olympic park and surroundings. Beautiful station premises with large spaces. Access from Olympic park to Lidcombe or to Central via strathfield. Station staff are very helpful. Bus stands right beside the station building.
Verry peace place . If you like natural place and greenery . Come to place. There is close station . Kids playground. Good for kids learning every things . No unsecured hazard and safe traffic management plan.
Why is this service so slow? 45 minutes just to travel one train stop from Lidcombe to Sydney Olympic Park. What an infrastructure embarrassment. NSW State government should be ashamed.
A great place to bring the family. Lots ihistory and places of interest. Great parks and play areas and picnic spots. There us always something on and plenty of food outlets.
Managed very nicely to hold large number of people who come for various kinds of huge events and occasions. Large and spacious. Good hotels and nice scenery to enjoy.
Always a great place hosting events like football and and concerts. Also a great place to wonder around soaking up the 2000 Sydney Olympics history
Go to Bicentennial park to relax. It's only 7mins away from Olympic park station. You can even rent a bike. It's also a good place to have picnic.
It is always incredible to our kids enjoying water play in this swimming centre. It has big play area indoors as well as outdoor experience
Horrible traffic control during Sydney show...very inconvenient also hardly find staff outside train station to ask, them not real help...
Beautifully created to accommodate large crowds. Especially for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. I was one of the volunteers out of 55000.
A little hectic with the walking distance from the station to most of the arena and venues, but it is a clean and nice station!
Really convenient location that provides great access to the sports facilities that surround it in the Sydney Olympic Park area
Lots of fun. Good facilities. A good number of restaurants and bars in the area. Easy access by car and public transport.
Looked good, very bare though. I guess that's because nothing major was going on. Very convenient location.
new and quiet ( if there is no sporting or music event) there is direct line from central or town hall
Quite good. However, could do with more toilets when large events are on eg: The Royal Easter Show.
The T7 is a pointless service. The T3 to Lidcombe could easily be extended to Olympic Park instead.
lots of eating joints around the station. Catch a train from platform 0 at Lidcombe to reach here.
Nice faclities. You get everything food option coming out of the station. Anz stadium us nearby
Good place to visit. Great variety of eateries a5nd other shops outside. Close to stadium.
Good for everyone to walk♀️♂️. …
Great place to visit and plenty of options to choose from, great place to watch sports
This is just a small part of the cool stuff at Olympic Park once you exit the station.
Poor transport option (with rude staff) for Sydney's largest sporting venue.
would not be able to get to and from work without this station being so good
Very nice station, clean, big, spacious, designed to accommodate a crowd.
big and clean . but they close down the escalator often for save bills?
Good modern station. Very efficient and built to handle large crowds.
quite big station but especially during the event its not big enough
A fantastic modern train station that copes well with event traffic.
On the way to the station there's Christmas decoration display
It is such a nice station but it was built for the wrong area
It is such a nice station but it was built for the wrong area
Great place to go for sports and concerts. great atmosphere.
Love it, great place for families to come play and visit.
Nice sports arena, with hotels and lots of restaurants.
Nice place with lots of cafes and eating joints nearby
Only goes to and from lidcombe - Olympic park station
Nice station, very quiet, not much train pass through
Not an easy place to get in and out of when busy,
My favourite place to enjoy weekends with kids.
A weird space. That feels empty and barren
