Sadly no longer will be a returning customer. I understand that there is a cost of living crisis and that inflation has brought prices up, but it’s absolutely ridiculous to have your menu online with one set price for a dish and then to dine in and be charged extra for it. Only once when we inquired about why the bill was $10+ extra, were we told that the menu online shows prices for takeaways only… absolutely nowhere online or on your website does it state that those prices are only for takeaway. Your website doesn’t even emphasise that its only a takeaway menu with only takeaway prices, it simply states to be the menu… ridiculous. The majority of people look to an online menu before visiting a restaurant to ensure and determine whether it’s within their price range or not. Certainly not a 5-star establishment but you expect people to pay for a 5-star establishment. Let this be a warning for anyone thinking of dining IN here.

This is our go to place for good food and friendly service. Jenny is lovely - always greets us with a smile. June 3rd 2018: This is what we thought last time we went. However last night's visit was not so good. No sign of Jenny - not sure if management has changed, but food was not up to the usual standard and was not delivered hot to the table. The service was very haphazard - there seemed to be a lot of staff wiping tables or walking around but not attending to the people who were waiting to order. We had two entrees, one main and fried rice to share, two beers and two wines - bill $88. Didn't mind paying this sort of money when the food and service was good, but will not be going to Oriental House again. Very disappointed.

Visited on a Saturday evening. A busy time but a group could still have a good time no problem. Ordered duck fried rice, garlic prawn, Shandong chicken and crispy pork belly. The only vegetable in the prawn dish was broccoli. Could have done better with some carrots and baby corn. It was a good dish, so was the rice. Iced tea we had was too watery. Pork belly has porky after taste. Didn’t like it. Chicken dish was okay. Both served with lettuce, though menu said vegetables. Service was okay, no complaints there. Hard to make mind for another visit, but I shall. Price was above average. But had generous portions. I’ll update my review the next time. Hopefully, pandemic recovery will help the place get back on track.

We went there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at 7:15pm and the table wasn’t ready for another 30 minutes. Then we asked two times to order before someone actually served us and waited another HOUR for the food to arrive. Also, we would ask the staff for things like soy sauce and it wouldn’t come out until we reminded them over and over. In addition, we ordered fish after we had already ordered and the staff completely forgot about it. The food was pretty good but the service was definitely prioritised towards takeaway rather than people who were ACTUALLY there. If you are coming with a large group, wouldn’t recommend it. Wandered in on a wet cold night. Quiet inside with few dining in and not much takeaway in the time I was there. Person at the counter was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and curt. A miserable start. An almost 40 minute wait saw limited signs of progress other than to inform a person just before me that they were out of tofu. Egg plant was selected and retrieved from the cooler. Nice to know its all made fresh but hardly a smooth and streamlined operation. I would feel more comfortable with a.prolonged wait in a friendlier environme Average prices are on the high side But portion sizes were generous and the food tasty and well prepared.

I dined in with my wife and chose the seafood supreme. I was expecting something better.. It was far too salty which I mentioned to the 2 waiters. The wine served was below half full.. I didn't mention this to the staff. I'm sure they are just doing as they are asked. On a positive the deserts served were nice but didn't make up for the disappointments. Deserts were sticky rice and icecream and pineapple fritter and icecream. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

Really nice, authentic, staff who know their stuff. Really clear menu with dietary stuff clearly labelled. Staff were run off their feet when we were there for Valentines, but even then service wasn’t too slow despite the number of takeaway orders also processed. Not to mention, of course, the food was amazing. The braised beef cheeks and satay chicken were both incredible, good fried rice options, and oolong tea! An excellent experience all round!

This was an actually perfect 5/5 star takeout, the best I've ever had. The Peking duck wraps entrée was beyond incredible, so tasty. The fried dim sims were more than perfect, seasoned amazingly with perfectly crunchy batter. The crispy beef has a gorgeous flavour unlike anything I have ever had. We got a few other dishes and all of them were perfect too! The delivery driver was very friendly. The food was hot and quick. We actually got everything we ordered. 11/10 all around

All the meals we ordered were very hit and miss. The flavours were delicious, however not mixed through very well which left some sections bland while others beautiful. Another dish had the same issue however half were flavoursome, crisp and crunchy; whilst the other half were soggy and bland. If the quality were consistent it would have been amazing. The outcome of some being great and some being awful in the same individual dish made it overall disappointing as it kept us from enjoying the meals as a whole.

Just moved into the area. So I've been looking at your reviews so I can see if it's a good place to go as we love our Chinese food. ButI 'm a bit concerned about the replying to the ppl who didn't give you a great review. If someone said they were ignored, they were ignored. If a customer says the service wasn't good, the service wasn't good. You might want try to take the reviews and improve your business. Because I'm not sure now if I want to even try your restaurant. I would Give 0 stars if I could, service was terrible. Mains were brought out before ontray. the food was appalling. After questioning them on their food, I found the lady to be quite rude and pulled the race card on me. Definitely won't be going there again and if you love your food like myself and my partner do I would steer clear of this place. I honestly don't know how you do business. Please shut your doors.

Waste of money. Stale and burnt food served to us. We were family of 6 and ordered for some good amount of dishes both vegetarian and chicken and was served burnt food which and mango juice severed was also stale and not edible at all. When I paid the bill and gave them the feedback THE LADY WAS SO RUDE AND TOLD US TO JUST LEAVE. Not at all worth. I wish i had zero star option.

This restaurant is especially busy tonight! I'm not surprised! The service resembles silver service! The staff are very friendly and attentive! Will please you and cater to your every needs! Don't want to leave when I have the opportunity to go! The taste lingers in your mouth in such a way that feeling happy and grateful brings no justification! Family owned and clearly authentic! This is actually a “hidden gem” IMHO, a place we visited and enjoyed several times over the years and it’s never disappointed us. The atmosphere is subdued, cosy and quiet and the facilities are very clean. This time a new (entree) treat on the specials board, “salt and pepper tentacles” hit the spot! The serves are very generous, and taking home those tasty remains is not a problem. (Note to self: go more often!)

Decided to treat myself to a nice easy dinner as i have a newborn. It is now midnight and i have my sizzling Mongolian beef coming out of both ends with the sorest belly. Thanks guys! Wish i could give negative stars lol.

90 minutes (and counting) for food delivery. When this place is at all busy, they take forever Edit 2023. Got an order with a massive hair in it. Disgusting Edit April 2023. Have been ordering again with this restaurant, because when they get it right, it's good for. Jenny from the restaurant rang up and aggressively demanded i remove this review and cancelled my order when i refused to do so

Terrible. This kind of places are normally pretty good at cooking their rice, but not this one. It was overcooked and sticky. Dishes are very pricey and the quality is very poor, like at cheap food courts. They even forgot to put main ingredient in my dish - duck, I paid $27. So I end up eating just vegetables. I’m not giving them 2nd chance.

Our 1st visit and definitely not our last. It was a Wednesday lunch and they were busy . Good service and lovely decor . The food came out quick and the presentation fantastic. We shared a Flounder in red curry sauce the flesh presented in it's crispy outer skin. We also had the traditional roast 1/2 duck with hoisin sauce. Plenty of delicious crispy skin & lots of meat . Soooo good!!!!!!

Unassumingly good food! A chef that understands temperature and the kiss of the wok. Fantastic fried foods and slow braises. Recommend the salt and pepper squid/bean curd/eggplant, vegetarian tofu soup, mushroms with bok choy, braised duck with mushroom, braised beef cheek, and the pork belly with green vegetables is a must. Even the curries are tasty and not too rich.

Really nice food..I mean really nice. My partner has not had laksa this good in twenty years. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are great for takeaway or delivery, but dining in is great too, the atmosphere, lighting and music is just right. 9 months down the track , and we order once every week or two. The food is still excellent, and so are the staff.

Very disgusting don’t go to this place at all the waitress with the blue hair is such a Karen very arrogant and rude cocky and ugly. Wait for 2 hours for food and still haven’t start to cook yet. If you guys can’t afford a chief then please do not open a restaurant and ruins ppls Saturday night

Delicious Chinese and Thai food. We came in a large party so we were able to try a variety of dishes. Every dish was delicious and flavoursome. The waitresses were very busy because there was only two of them doing table service for the whole restaurant, but they did a really job considering they were run off their feet.

I went for a quick dinner here and had Singapore noodles ($22)They Charged $14 cokage for my wine bottle. The bill was $36 which I thought was a complete rip off just to have a portion of Singapore noodles. Not recommending this place.

Hidden gem in the Eastern suburbs. The waitress’ were wonderful the whole service. We ordered black bean chicken which wasn’t on the menu but chefs were happy to change for us, duck fried rice - DELICIOUS, Singapore noodles and crispy sesame beef - SOOOO GOOOOOD! Can’t wait to come back here.

So seriously disappointed, literally only ordered because they had roti cannai. 1 tiny sad FLAT pancake 15 cm a little curry sauce and cost $7.80. The mark up must be over 700%! The food was nice but value for money no- expected at least 2 roti, not even fluffy …

Our new Chinese go to. First time here because our usual was engaged & we couldn't get through. Service & food was excellent. Can't wait to go back & explore the other delights.

A smallish establishment, that one needs to know about . Tasteful, clean and food to rival top class restaurants. Every dish we ordered was a delight and their prawn dumplings are to die for. Will definitely be going back!

Might have been an off night, but my Pad Thai was burnt. Some of the onion and almost all of the egg in it was blackened. The people out the back clearly decided to just serve it anyway. Pity, the other meals were ok
