"best of them all it is fast at getting holds ik cas i have taken like 2000 books for the library over the course of 2 and a half years and very very friendly staff not jugementl at all like some others said i plan on volintriing when i turn 14 (13 now)"
Upon Arriving to the library I was planning on spending pretty much my whole day here, as I was going to be studying for my final exams coming up. Like any human being, I planned my day accordingly by bringing a lunch some snacks and a coffee. I approached the front desk and had my library card activated for the first time in a while which was all good. Then I asked the lady at the front desk what the rule is on food and drinks in the library.. and she told me no food or drinks are allowed in the library, but I can carry my coffee around but not drink out of it? what has this world came to how am I suppose to have a functioning brain with no hydration or snacks for all that matter. Apparently were robots that depend on no food or water to function. College students!! if your looking for a quiet get away to study don't waste your time studying here if you want to eat and have snack in between it's honestly unrealistic. Whether or not it's because of covid or if that's been the rule since forever ago it;s pathetic.
In May of this year, the Carlingwood branch of the OPL was closed for renovations. There were no provisions made for the handicapped. May came and went. The renovations were then supposed to be finished in mid June. Now they are predicting June 24th. My telephone call was not returned. I was asking where I could pick up books I had ordered on Line. I am not particularly inmpressed. I have missed several deadlines to pick up books because of thia.. Alberta Casey.
Great library with a large selection. The many windows and open concept design on the second and third floor create a lovely atmosphere. The library also has a great children’s department on the first floor, as well as a little used bookstore on the second floor. One of the nicest branches of the OPL. Would recommend parking at Carlingwood Mall right beside the library though as the parking lot is very small and usually full!
I find this library a lot more comfortable to set up and work in than a lot of others. The selection of books is a little limited for my interests, but like most Ottawa libraries there are a lot of good comics and graphic novels available. I like the view sitting in the upper floor.

I find that the hours are really bad and are always are changing (never in a good way) and there isn't enough bean bag chairs and the some librarians are very judgemental, I do find that it looks very good though, and the shelving is ok
This is a great little library. There is limited parking at the library itself but there are lots nearby. The selection is decent for a smaller library as well. The staff has been helpful and polite each time I have visited.
Very nice staff Visitors here can eat, use their phones (looooong phone calls), speak loudly, Laugh and even run...... Some people even make 1 hour of conversations with the staff Nobody would say anything So weird
this place got me through high school. you will always find a comfortable place here to park yourself and work for 6 hours straight with minimal distractions as it is a very large space.
Quiet library, staff are very helpful. Not the same selection as downtown location but hey for its size it does a good job at rotation and getting hold items in a timely manner
I still remember the excitement of getting my very first library card here 35 years ago, along with the day I was old enough to have the "J" punched out of the laminate.
Efficient regional Library. Staff super helpful and friendly, esp in children's section. Not the fearsome bespectacled enforcers of silence you might expect.
The staff are always so wonderful so helpful by God I bet you they're blushing right now Nigel Christopher Chris again Beth Paula all good Folk come on down!
It is small library branch and has everyrhing you would expect. It is quiet and has free parking. Covered stroller parking too.
Very good. Staff extremely helpful. Not sure I like the new shelving system, find the lower shelf very hard to access and read.
Oh God ! Nothing can be as frustrating as coming to study in here !! There is no power hub if you carry a laptop !!!!!!!
should have power plugs for every seat and should open for more hours. other than that, i am in love with this place
I work here so I'm biased - but its one of a few public, free places. And, its pretty welcoming. Stop by, please!
Very easy to understand the sections. The library is also fully equipped with automated checkout machines.
We love the book packages for kids, amazing and kind staff and the community feel of the library...
Always great service here. Building is well laid out and things are easy to find. Staff are lovely!
Ottawa’s best little library. Excellent curated selection of books, ample parking and good hours
Great little library with drop in times for babies and infants. Even has a stroller parking lot.
