"From groceries to niche brands for pretty much everything"
"Who designed this place? It’s a chaotic maze of stores strewn all over the place with no rhyme or reason and the parking situation, omg what a mess! In my 65 years on this planet, I’ve never seen such a badly designed mall and parking lot! Want to bet this place will be empty (it’s well on its way, with many vacant stores that have closed) in a few years OR SOONER! Sad because some stores that have gone, I liked! Farm Boy has a wonderful train for kids (big & small) to watch! "
"Offers just about any type of store you could possibly want at any given time"
"The Walmart here is insane, do not go, feels like being caught in a tightening fishing net, so many people, store is too big to see what's where, stock is absolute in chaotic disarray"
"Visited Farm Boy"
From groceries to niche brands for pretty much everything. I recently started exploring this heavenly place, and love it! Initially, I thought that there should be a mega giant mall to incorporate all these stores under one roof, so one doesn't need to drive and make multiple stops... and then, I was like, but we do have such malls and now they are empty these days due to covid. Having individual stores not only allows them to reflect their brand but also makes it safer to shop especially during a pandemic time. Each store responsible for their customers. There are some great brands here; Farmboy, Tommy Hilfiger, Sail, Kettleman's bagel, and many more. Just bring a big fat wallet and shop till you drop. LOL.

Offers just about any type of store you could possibly want at any given time. The only issue will be for ppl who don't have a vehicle. Because of it being comprised completely of big box stores and covering 2 large city blocks, having to shop in multiple stores can make for long walks in between , especially if one is carrying packages. Not that this is the fault of the location. It simply speaks to the huge variety offered here.
The Walmart here is insane, do not go, feels like being caught in a tightening fishing net, so many people, store is too big to see what's where, stock is absolute in chaotic disarray. No no, nope. (One star above minimum for the self-checkout attendant who took my word (and photo evidence) on a low item price and did an override, snarking that they didn't have any staff to go and check the price anyway. Thanks man.)
Visited Farm Boy. Amazing selection of products and everything is so fresh and much better than what you get in a regular grocery store. I went there on a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy and crowded. However, I got my shopping done quickly, and the cashiers were so efficient that I was paying for my order very quickly. Excellent customer service. Will shop there again soon
We go to Trainyards from time to time, and there are many stores that are worthwhile going to. I wish there was a way for the owners to insist on a standard of service for their tenants. The Gap is particularly notorious in my experience for not being well stocked with selection in my size. We’d probably go a lot more often if there was a Loblaws/ Independent grocer.
Great food selection. A wide array of ready to eat kiosks, take home foods (heat and go) as well as produce of very good overall quality. Their fresh salsa is amazing. Their sushi spot has great poke bowls. The toasted sandwich counter rivals the best delis in town. Go for a nice bite to eat then buy your groceries for the week, too!
The Walmart here sucks so if you’re looking for Walmart probably go somewhere else. It’s always basically empty on stock. Otherwise everything else here is just as good as any other location- no complaints. 3 stars because there’s 1000 curbs for no reason and driving directly to the store you want is close to impossible.
The mall is designed to keep you trapped. It os very difficult to get out of the mall as all roads seem to bring you back to the middle. There was a time when people stayed in malls for a long time but nowadays the idea of retail is very different so fix those entrances and add some exits. Please
Busy parking lots that aren't very pedestrian friendly. There are many stores all in varieties of price ranges and the new farm boy is beautiful and has a heated, salad and buffet style eating area. With options to bring food home in containers or eat in the store . Staff is super friendly!
I don't like the nig spreadout outdoor malls. They suck when it's raining, or winter and freezing, or summer and broiling i.e. 80% of the year here. What genius thought this is a good layout for a city with Ottawa's weather. Give me a closed in mall like Carlingwood or St. Laurent any day.
A great selection of stores, have had great customer service experiences in the area. The biggest downside is that it's not very pedestrian-friendly. It's difficult to access via public transit if you have to transfer from the LRT/another bus route, and the parking lot is pretty chaotic.
This is a happening place! A lot of store varieties which can make it a one stop shopping mecca. LCBO, Farmboy, Sail, Golf Town, 5 Guys, Michael's, Terra 20, Pet Valu, Movati gym, Walmart and many more! Sometimes parking is tricky due to so many cars, but there is so much available here.
Great mix of stores but who ever planed out the parking lot should make them drive it now. Roads make no sense and people spend more time being frustrated moving around it then shopping. Re lay out the parking lot for better flow and exits and all the stores will see better sales.
Farm Boy and Marshalls are the only stores I frequent in this shopping center. I'm sure there are many other interesting options there, but it's too big and industrial looking to entice me to look further. I'd much prefer walkable human-scaled settings like the Kanata outlets.
Nice big Walmart was clean and well-maintained, even into the evening. We only went to print and purchase a photo, but ended up getting a bit more shopping done, too. Staff were helpful and friendly, a d there was a cute Halloween display of pop cases inside the entrance!
Bought gas from there. Was going to cottage. Check engine light triggered and my tucson ran bad with a chug. Put the gas can in my 4-wheeler. Very sluggish. Bought new gas from Esso after weekend. My car ran 100% Better. Check engine light went off too.
Great selection of stores. LCBO should expand into the old Farm Boy empty space beside it, making it the flagship store in Ottawa - with a proper tasting bar, expand the whisky shop, include pop up pods etc - just like they have in Toronto.
Lots of stores, very convenient, I love the Farm Boy there! There are pet stores, clothing stores, outdoor stores, coffee shops, etc. Parking lot is a little tricky to navigate but if you're patient you'll have a great experience.
March 2023 I picked up an item that I ordered online from Michael's. Convenient place to drive to as it is not far away from the 417. Trainyards has pretty much every store you can imagine except for IKEA. I like shopping here.
The way you have to find stores is a real pain. And quite a few are closed. Went there once won,t go back even though I found a few things at LL.BEAN AND BED..BUT Iwould had found them in Quebec. Why go to Ontario? Thanks
A lot of options at the shopping center. It's packed with fashion retail outlets, baby item stores etc. You can get great deals on clothings especially at Marshalls and shoe deals at DSW (designer shoe wharehouse)
Love the variety of stores. The Walmart has the best ladies clothing department. A nice selection of workout wear. The department is clean. You don't have to search for stuff. Nice restaurants with great food.
I would of given this area 5 stars, but due to all these awesome stores the area is not really accessible by neighborhoods like Overbrook for walking distance... and the Walmart in that location is very dirty
I just went to LLBean and was happy to learn of their sale. I go there for thin insulated vests that can be worn on their own or under a jacket. They have a nice selection and they are very good quality!
The parking lot and driving lanes can be a bit tough to navigate, especially during the busy summer weekends or right after a heavy snowfall. Lots of empty stores, but overall a good shopping experience.
I love trainyards! There are so many outlets. Literally, you can find everything you need in this plaza and for awesome prices too. I can't say I have anything negative experiences in any of the stores.
Lovely suburban-style shopping area in the heart of Ottawa. Plenty of good stores and good food to be found, plus your everyday essentials and a variety of services (gym, salon, etc.).
One stop shop! Has Dollarama, Walmart, Marshalls, Michel, Bath and Beyond, Healthy Planet, M&M etc. Tim hortons and Wendy's near by. Super convenient, plenty of free parking space.
The traffic through the area makes it a little difficult to navigate depending on the time of day, however the variety of stores makes it useful for finding a great deal of things.
My family and I love going to Trainyards; from Wal-Mart to Dollarama to Farmboy. A lot of shops, lots of parking and also near (3-5 minutes away only by car) the St Laurent Mall.
This place was super busy, it was like 8pm and they had a 10 ppl line up. Very organized and great service. Food tasted great too. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for.
Found some wonderful summer capri's, shorts and tops at Reitmans and grabbed lunch at Thai Express Restaurant The Mango Salad is amazing!!! Will definately be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The selection of stores is great but it's so spread out that it is not pedestrian friendly and the driving routes/parking lots feel like they were designed by children.
Definitely a great place to shop for Christmas gifts! Lots of variety and new stock in. Staff are great at this store! Super clean, always spending more than expected!
It's nice to have all of the stores, but the parking lot design is a nightmare. Can be frustrating. I appreciate that it can be accessed via Belfast or Industrial
Its a huge big mall and alot of really cool shops go check it out there's restaurants to fill you up when you get tired from shopping lol enjoy I sure did …
Designer clothing on budget....Best place to shop all year round.....only cons is that you should be prepared to spend plenty time looking through several brands
I like shopping at Ottawa Train Yards. Many popular well known brand stores, banks, eateries and coffee shops. Farm Boy and Walmart Supercenter.
It's okay. There is ample parking and what not. Walmart seems to be the highlight but try and break free and check out the other stores first.
Train yards have pretty much everything you need in a easy to access location. Plenty of parking, however could use some EV chargers.
All stores are accessible through the outside parking lot! The area is very clean and organized it's a pleasure to go shopping there!
Went to Gap but variety is not as good as Heartland Mississauga. But best part of this mall us Chick pea restaurant for vegan wraps.
Trainyards has a bunch of options for shopping and sometimes prefer it over an indoor mall. It's clean and has plenty of parking
Went to Walmart and cashier was very friendly. Grabbed a few things. Very few people there at 7:30am. Great time to go shopping
Working as a security guard at Marshall's. Lots of free parking. Also Tim Hortons was nearby for coffee. What could be better?
Haven't really shopped in the train yards. I only went to specific stores which were excellent. Sports 4, chatters and Sail.
You can find almost anything you are looking for. Clothing, sports equipment, guns, hunting supply , food, booze, golf etc
Very hard to find anything. Aisles were very tight. Carts couldn't get through because of the crowded mess and expensive
This is one of the best outlets in Ottawa. Almost all good brands have a branch here. Great for buying clothes and shoes
Best shopping district in Ottawa. All shops in the trainyards area. Easy to walk. Good public transport via octranspo.
Shopped at Old Navy, they had great discounts (I was able to go a Monday afternoon). And not busy. Will go back.
Great selection of men's clothes! Definitely much better than hopping chain stores trying to find what you need.
Great mall lots of different types of stores. I don't think I've ever left this mall without buying something
Busy area, but lots of great stores & food outlets to choose . Something for everyone all in one area.
Elizabeth was very helpful in getting us all the right styles and colours. Great service and prices!
Pretty lame, 90% of it is just a parking lot. 2 stars just for the awesome train themed farm boy.
Lots of great brands to choose from eg Tommy Hilfiger, Penningtons. Lots of free parking as well.
Massive pot hole beside the movati. Seen several tires get popped here. They haven't done a thing
This is a large shopping malls in Ottawa l buy some things for my son and family for Pakistan
So many unique shops and decent food options just about anything you need you can find here!
Pet Value at Trainyards, very friendly and valuable staff. Awesome experience. Thank you
A great shopping place with variety of stores. You can spend few hours shopping around
I love this place. Huge selection of skin care products and other interesting stuff.
OK place to shop. Good but nothing exceptional. It is a dollar store after all
Didn't find what I was looking for. Parking lot was alright to get through.
Always a great place to shop. Lots of different stores to choose from.
Great shopping near the university all the major stores! Easy parking!
Great place to look for some cheap brand goods targeted for clearance
Good selection of stores. Parking lots have poor access and egress.
Has lots if stores to choose from as well as a bank & restaurants
You never no what you may find Lots of choices at great prices!
More stores than I remember. Pleasant day for window shopping.
An ugly series of big box stores amidst a sea of parking lots.
Many stores available which makes shopping easy. Love it
Looks unfinished and empty. Lots of good stores though
Lots of stores to shop at, something for everyone
So many different stores! A lot of good quality.
A great plaza mall with good variety of stores.
Busy but good mall to shop around in Ottawa
Good choice of stores. Plenty of parking.
Great place to get what you need
Lots of stores. Great location
Good stores. Awful parking lot
Good selection of stores
A great area to shop!
