Having had a few recent dodgy contractors for other things I was very cautious with the repair and renovations of my 5 bedroom house from both a cost and quality perspective. I did my homework, got various quotes including the from the big guys like Suburban roofing. On a side note, when looking at quotes pay attention to what in the quote is at a fixed price and what is variable eg. price per broken tile etc to ensure you compare apples with apples between suppliers. Outa Africa also quoted and I then tested things with the owner Dalan extensively to get comfort on the materials, quality of his work, cost, references etc etc. He was patient and responded to my unyielding detailed questions. In the end I went with Outa Africa for nothing other than the gut feel I got from Dalan when I concluded my due diligence by (perhaps rudely) basically asking him "how do I know your won't screw me?". His answer was grounded, simple, honest, not focused on 'selling' me the job, but rather his response openly showed me into him, the man behind the company. I immediately new my prior questions were the wrong ones and a waste of time. I then knew undoubtedly that he was a trustworthy man, knowledgeable with a no cutting corners approach who has built a growing business from humble beginning and would do nothing to ruin this. So the job started and given the size of the job it took around 4 weeks to complete. It's now done and I am so glad I chose Outa Africa to do the job. Everything was perfect: a friendly and proactive team, communication, quality of the job, cleaning the site, frequent owner presence on site, experienced on site supervisor, effectively dealt with challenges with some heavy rain that came during the job etc etc. Now that my roof is done, (or perhaps if you may be reading this thinking about using them for your own roof) one may think "OK its done but what if an issue presents...will the contractor come resolve it now that they have my money". Well I doubt there will be an issue that presents for me, but if it does, Dalan the owner steering this company, has old school ingegrity and will undoubtedly resolve it and I have comfort sleeping peacefully under my newly maintained roof. BTW I have no personal connection with anyone at Outa Africa. Just a satisfied customer sharing my experience.

The work was completed on time, with no complications/delays and is of a high quality. They went out of their way to ensure that our roof was repaired and installed professionally, cleaned up exceptionally well after completion and provided a transparent and reliable service.

Amazing workmanship, fair, honest, and very informative company, they went the extra 5 miles on my project. I highly recommend this company. You may wait a bit as they are crazy busy, but it's worth the wait, and once they are on site they will turn all their attention to your project.
