I am truly and utterly without words. I have been a customer of Pan Del Sol for about 30 years. When our family was new to this country my parents would always shop here, especially my father, may he rest in peace. I am second generation to be a customer and now my children and grandchildren have been supporting this business. I have always supported them because its family own business. I am truly disappointed that the principals this business was built on have gone out the door, with the son, who is now Managing the business. He has lost the value of operating under the influence of "GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE". All my events have been catered by this establishment, including my recent event, "MY WEDDING". We all know weddings are special and memorable experience, we wanted our cake to reflect our experience. Unfortunately, it didn't. I came in to order a small wedding cake for a group of 10 people. I spoke to the Baker (son/manager), i showed him the picture below. I asked for 1 tier just like the decorated like the picture below, his response was, "yes i will do it. The young lady finished up the order and I specifically said no filling on the inside of the cake as my hubby to be does not and will not eat any type of custard filling of any sort. It was agreed and off I went. Returned to pick up my cake and received the second picture of the wedding cake. It was plain, no decorations or any type of effort was put into making our wedding cake. Since it was so plain i asked for them to add the "congratulations" on the cake. I left with the cake hoping it would taste better than what it looked. I was, SO WRONG! I had specifically asked for no cream, no custard, nothing creamy, we got exactly what we asked NOT to add. Completely disappointed, we served our guest the cake as we had no other choice. My hubby and I did not part take in eating OUR WEDDING CAKE :,( We reached out to Pan Del Sol the next business day to ask what happen, we spoke to the manager/owner/son and he dismissed our concerns and and blamed me for the cake. He did not take any accountability for any of the mistakes that took place with the making of our WEDDING cake, and he ended the call by saying " oh well, I lose 1 customer". I am truly disappointed all we wanted was to know if we can get compensated for the mistake done. He said he will do nothing and the attitude and exact words were, "I don't care if I lose 1 customer". His misunderstanding is that he is not loosing 1 customer. He is losing generations with my family. This is the beginning of a good business going down the drain because they forget how they started, and it was customers like my parents and myself who have helped the business grow through the years. Truly, Truly Disappointed Customer

Absolutely the best ever food I believe I am in love with this place. Clean fresh and very nice people. For decades this place has stayed consistent and I never had a problem they are number 1 in my book. I personally love the veal sandwich, potatos, chicken. And the deserts to die for amazing.

Most definitely The parking lot is level to the road and easily able to get inside or ask for help 2 different entrances to accommodate and plenty of tables and chairs to eat inside or outside in the right weather.

This was our main go to as a bakery, for lunches, pastries, pasta etc. I think we were pretty regular and spent quite a lot there. However, after this bad experience I think we will cease to go. A family member ordered a cookie tray for us for Christmas present. I called ahead of pick up and asked hopefully it was just cookies and not cannoli on the tray as we can not eat them due digestive problems, I was told it was a cookie tray. Got to the bakery and the tray came out with half of it covered with every variety of cannoli you can think of. I told the lady, my family can not eat this. She told me she had to ask Alex if she can substitute for cookies, who I assume is the owner and baker of this place. He came to up to the front of the bakery and told me this was what was ordered and basically too bad, take it or leave it. I told him my family can not eat this. He took the tray away to the back of the store, took the cannoli off and returned it with what was left, which was about 8 or 10 mixed cookies. Basically more then half the tray was empty and refused to even put a few extra's on. This is not good customer service.

Employees don’t care. 10 minutes waiting to pay a bag of bread, with 4 people behind also waiting, yet with 2 cash registers, nobody was there. the girl serving a lady, she didn’t care, not even bother to call for help knowing what she was doing will take awhile. (“She can wait” - she thought). I’d choose to go there yes, however there is no customer service care. Your employees may think we have all the time of the world, however we have kids to take to school and jobs to get in time. Not only your life as a worker counts, but also all the customers that also work that are keeping up with this business. No customers, no business, and today was my last time here. There are more bakeries in Hamilton and with better customer service care. It is also surprising how employees making sandwiches never use gloves. It is impossible washing hands for every customer. Nails carry lots germs even after washing our hands, public health department should take this in consideration since most businesses needs to use disposable gloves and employees are constantly touching knives and rugs without worrying about cross contamination.

I was in the bakery at the lunch counter on June 29th ant 11:50am. My mask (how I feel about the masks is another story) was below my nose. I lifted it to just on my nose. Not up to my eyes. The taller bigger girl behind the counter (there were 2 girls) asked me to fix it again. I ordered my lunch, because my mask was fine. And she proceeded to give me a very small amount of each item I ordered. My friend was with me and we compared our identical lunches. His container was full mine was less the half full. Now she was probably taking my actions into account, (my actions of not putting my mask to where she felt was correct) and she took it personally. That is not how you deal with the public in a professional manner. This girl needs some training before she does this to someone else with a temper. That will cause a big scene. I have been to this business many times. I am not sure if I will return now. I don't need that type of service. I work hard for my money and will choose to give my money to businesses that treat me fairly.

Pane Del Sole is a must visit if you are in Hamilton! If you live anywhere close you are sooooo lucky! The baker of this place has real talent! I should have taken more pics, but I was too thrilled with eating I went in here on a whim, because they advertise Pancetta sandwiches for lunch, and my husband loves Pancetta. Since I am vegetarian myself he eats meat when we are out and about. The sandwiches are great: fresh buns or baguette made with your choice of fresh vegetables. You could stop there and be happy. But I was not able to pass by the pastries! I bought Apple Strudel, Nata, and some cookies, and they were all better than any I have had before. Flaky crust, moist fillings, simply music to my taste buds! If you try this and don’t feel the same way, the bakery must have had an emergency of some sort that day! Go try this place, I will be amazed if you don’t like it!

Pulled in, owner came out and told me I can't park here, told him I was going in the bakery and he shortly said "you have 30 minutes". Alright, I get it, parking in Hamilton is a mess, he needs to protect his parking, although kinda rude to be sure. So, figured quality would be good and got a 4 pack of cinnamon buns. No expiry date but I figured, boutique bakery, I'm sure they're good. In short, they were not. They were pretty disgusting, on top of being very old and stale. Had a few bites, threw the rest away, not even remotely edible. Best advice, stay away from this place... for multiple different reasons!

Just went on a visit to downtown Hamilton ....oh my God!!!! Stopped at your Bakery and had a couple of sandwiches which were ok but then I ordered 2 double espresso's for me and my wife, this experience was the worst in my life . I felt bad for the poor girl making the coffee as she tried many times to correct the coffee's and make them better but to no avail. I finally accepted the coffee but here I am an hour and a half later and we(my wife and me) still have a bitter taste in our mouth. I don't ever make these types of comments or report but this was brutal and Ive been drinking espresso for many years. One star because of our espresso problem!! I hope this is instructive but im sure you are not that interested in negative comments

Haven’t been in Hamilton for a long long time Finally was visiting and had this bakery on my must visit list. First of all congrats on the bakery even though you probably have been there for a long time Now where do I begin Baked goods yummy Hot food counter yummy Super nice people working Prices super affordable I shouldn’t say this but I bought a bunch of baked goods to take home. Super delicious and cheap. If this place was in Toronto you could easily charge double for the cannolis So yummy Had one for dessert had one for breakfast I will be back for Sunday to pickup food and bread for thanksgiving Thank you to owners and employees who all have a part in making this place super awesome

They sell a gigantic cannoli filled with normal cannoli. How do I know? I have purchased this delicasy to feed hordes of friends and family on many occassions. Ohhh but is it a good cannoli? Yes you naive review reader, the real question is are you ready. They are the kings and queens of cannoli and I am the herald. The world turns, things change and get better and worse in different ways, but through it all do not overlook the stability, the always present option of hosting an event featuring a cannoli filled with a hundred other cannoli. That is truly special.

I Love this place so much. Recently moved hamilton and was looking for good bakeries in the city. I visited so many that Pane Del Sole would have been my last store that's I was visiting before going down to Etobicoke just to go to Tre Rose. I really love this place so much. The lemon cookies are to die for. Was to the point that I was there almost every 3-4 days to get more. They are pricey when you order as much as I do, but I have no regrets. Hoping to come in soon once I figure out my budget! Think maybe I'll take the cookies over my rent. Worth it. Gaetano

I came in today an got two of your sugar skull sugar cookies and they were absolutely horrible. Tasted like they've been out for days. The meringue was waaaay to much and that was my first time there. To top it off the girl at the cash register was on the phone the ENTIRE time I was paying. Didn't say hello didn't ask me if there was anything else. Just a horrible experience. 5.99 X2 for four day old cookies is astronomical. It's too bad cause I heard Wonderful things about you guys but I won't be back at all. Buyer beware of the cookies!

good people. They make excellent meals and sandwiches here for a reasonable cost and have tons of fresh bakery and supply goods. it's also my coffee go-to when I'm near the area: more so just for the pleasant experience as the coffee is basic walk-in plain (but natural tasting) coffee for a cheap price: I feel mellow going in there and when I leave, which is key (as apposed to being on the brink of an aneurysm at most tim hortons or a bit overwhelmed at places where coffee is closer to five bucks for hot water and burnt beans)

Delicious hot table Italian bakery. Sicilian cannoli are awesome right up there with Sam's cannolis. Good quality food. The prices on Facebook are not correct those are old sp they are much higher now. A little pricey but worth the value.

Went in for the first time and picked up a frozen meat cannelloni for an easy midweek dinner. Surprise! It was delicious. The sauce was excellent. I scraped every last bit of sauce out the tin foil container. I noticed they sell their own sauce by the jar. If that is the same sauce that was on the cannelloni, all I would need is a spoon. I bought the smaller size and it was just enough for two. Will be going back to try the hot table and everything else, including the house sauce.

A must experience for lunch, fresh hot counter, fresh sandwiches on different rolls and buns. Great for fresh selection of breads, desserts and seasonal Gelato. cakes are delish! and so fresh pies too! great for any occasion. If you have catering needs... look at their selection of quality trays. Have been using them over over 20 years for our family gatherings, baby showers, stag and does , work functions, birthdays... well for everything

Just picked up two mixed subs today and was very dissapointed with the "day old" buns they used. The filling was wondreful but noticeably dry bread. When you charge $12 a shot on the sub, USE FRESH BUNS..... don't skimp and use yesterday's ( or two day old) buns will ya?? Don't start scrimping with the hopes that people don't notice..... They will.... and the WON't come back...like me

Growing up with an Italian baker in my family and having been to Italy, I can definitively state that the product here in all of the pastries, hot table, and sandwiches are legitimately high quality. The service I have had has been respectable, and I doubt there are many places in Ontario that can replicate what they do here. Highly recommend to check this place out for take out, sit down, or bringing a few cannolis for dessert.

Amazing Friendly Staff and Service. They catered my sister's wedding and everything was so wonderful. Love love love their pastries. We had them deliver roasted potatoes, porcetta ...The bread was amazing as well. Great Family owned business and my new place to order for parties. Used them a second time for my daughters baby shower. Everything was wonderful. Would recommend them for any special occasion.

Excellent lunch buffet, amazing baked goods. Friendly staff. Have been coming here for years however lately they have been getting weird about the portions. The combos are gigantic but For some reason you cannot have more than 2-3 things from the buffet. So many things to choose and they are all delicious, but you are stuck with huge portions of 2-3 items, no substituting. Hope they can work on this.

The pros: Great breads Great pastries Plenty of parking Very nice and friendly staff The cons: Frozen lasagna was inedible. Not sure what grade beef is used however the one I bought had hard pieces of gristle in it and was fatty. There was also barely any cheese. 4 people in the family and no one ate it. Cheese pizza was also something to be desired. Conclusion: Will shop here again for breads only.

I just drove an hour and a half to have lunch with my parents at this place. They said they came here last weekend and had great service. However today we couldn’t even get sandwiches made fresh. They wanted to take apart the sandwiches already made in the counter two hours ago by the deli girl. So we are on our way to Zarky’s to support a small business that knows how to treat there customers.

I’ve been a customer since their previous location Cannon St. So that would tell you that we go way back. The hot table foods are always great, always fresh, the gelato and baked breads and sweets are delicious. My family has patronized this bakery for many years for our birthday and celebration cakes. Service is always beyond up to par. If you haven’t been here it’s worth discovering.

My wife got me an authentic Italian rum birthday cake a few weeks ago. It brought me back to the 70s when a cake was exactly like this. So I ordered one for my wife's birthday, and again...was perfect. Brought me right back. I won't buy a cake anywhere else. Thank God this place is only a few blocks away. Great customer service, and these cakes were so fresh they melted in my mouth!

Delicious local bakery! This place has a fresh bakery, hot bar, a deli, a sub stop and groceries! The products are mostly Italian, making the food and bakery so tasty because everything is home made! They even make their Gelato in house! Don't pass this spot up on your way by, you won't be disappointed if you love desserts, fresh bread and delicious Italian food!

Love this place and use it for all my events. They have great cakes!! My personal favorite is the vanilla slab cake with strawberries and cream inside. Moist and perfect everytime!! Best buns in town. You gotta eat them within a couple days but paired with salami, mortadella and provolone *chefs kiss*. Or just let them make you a sub/sandwich or a proper lunch/dinner. When I brought a bunch of callonis to work from here for a potluck it was a total hit. And the staff are so nice. I've been here 50 times at least.

I live around the corner and I feel so lucky to live next to such an amazing bakery! Everyone who works there is always so welcoming and polite. Their subs/sweets/garlic bread absolutely everything is delicious. I highly recommend Pan Del Sol to anyone! They even have tons of parking which is hard to find so close to downtown.

Love their subs, always fresh and made to order. I tried their ready made sandwich and it was just as fantastic. They offer other items such as olives, cheeses, nuts and other items that can go well with sandwiches/snacks. Their deserts are also fresh and full of flavour. Great store and restaurant. Love, love, love.

It depends on the day, some days the staff is great and some days its like someone is holding a gun to there heads to be there! Many times I've gone there and gotten old bread for regular price. So be careful and check your bread properly. Other than that their stuff is not that bad. A little pricey for the quality.

For my first visit, I tried the espresso cream puff and it was incredibly good. I was obsessed with it. Everything is high quality and you won’t be disappointed with anything you get. I didn’t try all pastries yet but I’ll definitely get more from them when I visit Hamilton. I’m so lucky that I found this bakery ☺️

Friendly, quick service. Excellent in-house gelato during the summer season! Daily hot food counter has tasty selections. Try the porchetta on a bun! Bakery items like cheesecakes, cookies, cannolis are all really good. (check your bakery box before leaving though, my order has been slightly mixed up twice now!)

A store with lots of options for pastries, cookies and cakes. It tastes delicious. The only down side is they charge you for everything extra. To write name or wish on cake they put a chocolate strip and which cost you $2 plus tax to make a plastic basket they charge $3 even if you spend $50 on items inside it.

Biggest, most delish hot cross buns. They have a terrific assortment of take out food. I got a big fat turkey and cheese sandwich on fresh bun with lots of fresh toppings for only $6. This is my go to place when I want an assortment of pastries that is a little more impressive to take when I go visit someone.

What an amazing bakery. I love the Hot Italian sandwich on the Focaccia bread it is amazing. Pair that with a pistachio cannoli and you just might have perfection. All the staff is wonderful and happy to serve you. Lots of choices on the hot plate and the sandwich bar. Amazing sweets to choose from as well.

Awesome bread and deli products. One of the few bakeries left in Hamilton that makes real bread with no preservatives. I like supporting these small businesses because they work hard to give you a real quality product as opposed to bread made from a frozen source in all major grocery chains.

With out a doubt the best bakery in Hamilton. Prices are fair, everything is fresh, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great selection of imported goods as well like olive oil and coffee. If you’re not sure what to get. Go with a cannoli or a tiramisu piece. You won’t regret it.

I love Pane Del Sole! When I worked downtown we used to go for lunch all the time. Now whenever I am in the area I always make an effort to drop by to pick some deserts, always way too many but it's hard to choose and leave with what you planned to buy because they are so delicious.

Went for coffee and a treat and ended up getting lunch. Food was very delicious and fresh. Pastries were delightful. My son ate a chocolate cake pop, covered in sprinkles. He was in heaven. Small cozy store yet lots to eat and drink. Even have frozen Italian food to take home.

Reliable, fresh and quick lunch items. Breaded chicken on a bun is a go to for me. The prepared frozen food is pricey, but good. We enjoy the frozen shepherds pie and frozen take home soups. Love the jarred tomato sauce and a good selection of imported groceries.

I used to live near this bakery, and I would go regularly. I love their buns, some of the best I have ever had. The baked goods are really great too! I e only had the hot counter once and it was super yummy. Love going here anytime I'm back in Hamilton!

Eating here from 1992 . Willing to drive over an hour to get a great lunch . I started working on cannon st in high school. This place is a must stop when I'm in hamilton. Make sure you try the lunch and take home lots of fresh baked in store desserts .

The pastrami sandwich was very satisfying and I wasn't even that hungry, and yes you get your money's worth with their gigantic portions. Tidy and a great place for a staycation of the taste buds. Tour the world in my neighborhood and shop local.

Classic Italian bakery and deli. Great sandwiches and hot counter. Probably eat here almost once a week for a quick sandwich. The sweets counter is tight!!! And they rock gelato seasonally. Cool freezer section too with lasagna and such.

Just moved to a spot that is dangerously close/walking distance to this bakery. Fantastic baked goods, bread, fresh pizza by the slab, sandwiches, homemade sauce. Great sense of hospitality from the staff, great quality and fair prices.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Everything is delicious, and the staff is very nice and helpful. A must try for anyone. Desserts and gelato are worth the visit on their own, let alone all the sandwiches and hot food.

Just ordered two cakes for a shower. Strawberry sfoglia and Italian rum cake. Both cakes were exquisite……the look was exactly what we ordered, the taste was excellent and the service was exceptional. Thank you for such a great job!

This is a special Hamilton staple. The fresh pastry counter is like 30 ft long and has everything under the sun. For me, the sandwiches at their hot counter are what I have the most. Personally I love the meatball and italian subs

Downgraded my rating from 4 to 2! There again. Found their prices ridiculously high on food bar, espresso coffee and other goods. Prices would suggest higher quality premises not the case. May return but not my first choice.

I ordered a catered meal for 11 people on fathers day everything was hot, delicious and packed up very well - they even brought it all to my car for me. Very generous portions too. I will definitely be doing this again!

Unexpected in Hamilton. Good Italian pastry and Flan. I like their coffee and the service. The ladies behind the counters who are serving the clients are very courticious. Their patio and garden of flowers is amazing.

The pastry counter is massive and anxiety inducing. Too many unreal looking baked goods there! The lunch counter is also impressive where you can get yourself a top notch hot lunch. I hope this place exists forever.

Got an Italian sandwich with fresh toppings personalized, a small freshly made pizza (bakery style in a bag) a cannoli and a Cadbury egg brownie... was $22.. such a great deal and great service.

They do the best cakes in the city and I absolutely love the cannoli. It's hard to find a quality bakery these days, but Pane Del Sole delivers. And wow those pastries! ❤️

Good selection of fresh breads and pastries. Little area to sit and have an espresso, dessert or an in house made fresh sandwich. A bit on the pricey side for pastries.

Best bakery in town. Love the cheesecake, jalapeno/cheddar bagels and the list goes on. Open over the holidays and takes orders and always has the item ready on time.

Had the daily special here. It was 8 bucks for lasagna, vegetables, two pieces of chicken, and mashed potatoes. I could barely finish it AND it was super delicious.

The sandwich bar is affordable and they're generous with portions. House made baked goods will keep you coming back for more and the espresso is quite nice.
