"What an awful experience"

What an awful experience. Stopped to use the Tesla charging station and figured it was a great idea to stop here to eat. When the lady at the counter was asked by my husband what was really good on the menu, she replied no idea. I dont eat here. That should have been our sign to eat elsewhere. But what came next was the topping on the icecream. When our order was ready, i went to get it and the RUDE MANAGER Tina informed me they were out of the soup i wanted. I declined and did not want to replace my soup she indicated i would need a refund. I asked how that took place, as the pick up counter is separate from the ordering counter and she said take your receipt and go back. I asked if it was the receipt on my tray she snapped back no. I then asked if one of the employees could inform the front she said no take the receipt back to the counter and then instructed me that I would pay full price "I got the pick 2" Flatbread and soup. I asked why I would be charged for them selling a soup they didn't have. She said that's how it works as it was a combo. Had I known from the time I ordered, I would have chosen something other then soup. By the time I was able to sit and eat, my Flatbread was cold and not enjoyable. As we spent almost 10 minutes retifying the mistake they made. According to the lady that was walking around, she said it was busy and they were overwhelmed. The attitude, tone of speaking to peopler and lack of customer care was appalling. Definitely will be taken this stop off our next road trip. Way to go Tina. Hope your day gets better.
Here is my experience with Panera’s Bread Kingston a few days ago: 1. I ordered a regular coffee at the cashier and paid for it. 2. Went to coffee dispenser corner to fill out my cup. 3. Dark roast was out and asked a staff at the kitchen counter for it. She said ‘ok, it will be ready in 5 or so’, so I waited for good 5 min. 4. Nothing happened and went to the kitchen counter again to check and see if the coffee was coming soon. The same staff said ‘’oh we’ve been busy and haven't had a chance to get to it. Can you take different kind?’ 5. I don’t like light roast but there were only light roast and hazelnut , and since I don’t like flavored coffee, I had no chose but light roast. The dispenser for the light roast stopped filling my cup about a half way. 6. I went back to the kitchen counter and told them that light roast was also out. 7. The same staff asked me if I could take hazelnut but I told her that I don’t like it. She rolled her eyes as if I were being unreasonable and went back inside, and came out with a dispenser with dark roast coffee in it in matter of a minute. 8. I finally filled out my coffee cup and left the store. Dispute of all the effort to get the coffee, I couldn’t finish half of it because the coffee tasted nothing. Will I ever go back to the store? No I won’t. Not only there was extremely low level customer service but the coffee didn’t taste anything and it is just not worth it. I understand that everywhere is short stuffed and busy, but it is not a justifiable reason to treat customer disrespectfully.
I had pre ordered 2 dozen bagels for the Tuesday special. I had asked for them to be ready for a 10am pick up and for them to be sliced. Arrived at 1005am, line up at front counter, when it was my turn at cashier she wanted to charge me $38.00 for the 2 dozen bagels. It's a Tuesday so they should be $9.99 per dozen. She did not like me questioning the total! Then she had to go get someone to tell her were they were, right beside her on a rolling rack. Started to bag them from the rack, questioned her as why they were not sliced as asked, She then proceeded to tell me she would have to find someone to show her how to slice them! They disappeared for about five minutes, line growing out the door no one at cash. Someone came out with a coffee to refill, she put it down and started to take the line. She asked what I was waiting for she said it would be a couple more minutes, by then it was 1040am and I had to back down at the hospital to get pick up a friend. I started to say this and also she did was complain about being short staffed. All I can say is when I pre order something a week in advance. I would expect it to be ready for pick up! They even take a credit card when ordering. I will not be back
I recently visited Panera Bread in Kinston and had a wonderful experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that my meal was perfect. I ordered half a veggie sandwich, but by mistake, they brought a normal sandwich. However, when I informed them of the mistake, they immediately and politely made me a new sandwich. To make up for the mistake, they even offered me a full sandwich, which was incredibly generous. They served my food to my table, despite it being a self-service restaurant, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly, and the service was prompt and efficient. The sandwich itself was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the Ten Vegetable soup. It was flavourful, healthy, and the perfect complement to my meal. The coffee was also fantastic and a great way to end my meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Panera Bread in Kinston. The staff, food, and ambiance were all exceptional. I give it a 5-star rating and will definitely be returning in the future.
I love Panera but I don't live close to one, so I made my friends stop at this location on our drive to Niagara Falls. As usual, the food was delicious, but the reason I will come to THIS Panera location every time I drive to Toronto is because of Larry! Larry ran around delivering orders and was clearly working very hard. He had great customer service conversations, and when he got to our table he made witty jokes and engaged in a very funny conversation with us. Larry made this the best Panera experience I've ever had! It's so nice to see someone take such pride in their job and enjoy what they're doing. I work as a Job Developer in a small town; and that means I’ve worked with several clients like Larry to help them find meaningful employment. I love the clients I work with (and I love seeing them at their jobs even more!) so it was so great to see Larry in his element! I've told everyone I know about Larry and told them to go to this location on their next trip. I hope Larry is working the next time I'm there! :)
Meh, 5/10. I’ve gone to Panera multiple times, and before I get into the negatives allow me to say that the cheddar broccoli soup is absolutely amazing Anyways, although the soup is good there are a multitude of issues with this restaurant. To begin, the pricing is crazy considering the amount of food you get, and the quality. Although some of the pastries are rather tasty, for the most part their meals are average and better food could be purchased at different places around town, for the same or even lower prices (I’d recommend the Wendy’s nearby). Secondly, there are problems with the staff. As other reviews have expressed, the staff are rather forgetful and I’ve also experienced this a number of times. Occasionally, there are staff members who are rude or even stand-offish, but I suppose I could be getting unlucky with the particular staff I interact with. All in all, not the best place in town but there are some redeeming qualities to this restaurant.
Alright ... So normally I'm not a big complainer and I enjoy your food... But today I was at your location, I had a terrible experience. After excepting my 100 dollar bill and then ringing it in as a 50 ( THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT COLOURS LOL) the lady was like oh we don't except 100 dollars bills. Next time just give me the change back for my $45 dollar order... And two twenties and a ten... after the manager came over...You litterally brought your whole team over to try and figure it out by doing a refund. And had the audacity to tell me to pay by another form of payment. Saying there was a sign that you didn't take 100 dollar biils after taking mine .Thanks for wasting my time. The manager also seemed pretty useless as she couldn't figure out the till. In other news if anyone else has problems with this... Head over to pita pit... They accept 100 dollar bills.
I’ve always passed on Panera because it has a reputation of being pretentious and highly priced - sort of the Starbucks equivalent for “fast food” sandwiches. So I tried this place twice this weekend - well tried 3 times but they close at 7pm on Friday!! That’s insane! Anyway the food is definitely good. The soups are nice and flavourful, the sandwich options and the medley or bread types are good as well. But I still have trouble justifying the price. This would be a once in a blue moon thing for me. Maybe just go with the Pick 2 thing to get most of your moneys worth and just enjoy it for what it is. The place is never too busy though; staff are always very friendly as well. I’d recommend trying at least once. The Smokehouse BBQ Chicken or the Steak and Swiss on the Tomato Basil Bread is pretty good. I found the Corn Chowder to be really good, got it twice.
It's always really good food here there's no doubt about that. Portion size isn't that great for the price that you pay though. And I must say my experience today in the Drive-Thru, I bought four items which costed me $46. I was fine with that because it's good food and I enjoy it. But after waiting 10 minutes in the Drive-Thru I received the wrong items. I called the restaurant after getting home and realizing this and what I was offered was simply the food that I had ordered in the first place. So I have to go back to the restaurant a second time after having waited that long and all I'm getting is what I paid for. I mean I don't think that they should go to the moon and back for me but I just don't see how their mistake is my fault and I have to pay extra gas for their mistake. Even if I had checked in the Drive-Thru it would have been extra waiting time.
It pains me to only give 3 stars, because I LOVE Panera food .. However, the service at this particular restaurant is not great. The people who work here are either very forgetful, or spacey, or are just not listen. Probably 90% of my visits (and I visit multiple times a week), something in my order is forgotten. Whether it is my drink, my side, or an addition I've made to my meal. I actually just left there and they forgot my side, which prompted me to write this review. In my experience, one person in particular messes up my order .. That person is David. I am not usually one to single someone out, but I feel that people should be warned to repeat and double-check their order when it is David (mostly at the drive-thru) taking it. I just feel that for the price we are paying for such delicious food, we should at least be getting the food we asked for.
Panera bread is always a treat to have something from there. I love the breakfast sandwiches they have especially the asiago bagel with sausage and scrambled eggs and cheese it's just to die for it's amazing! The people there are very friendly indeed and always with a smile on their face.

Modern new Panera bread in an area off Division Street and the 401. The staff was friendly on the night attended. Went through the drive through. In issues with order and the time from order to delivery was OK. Could have been a little quicker as the order was simple and wouldn't have taken long to prepare. My only complaint is about Panera Bread in general and not specific to this location. I food the food expensive for the size and quantity you get. The item ordered was a small but not sure it would even be considered big enough for a kids size. I like the quality of their food and taste but very disappointed in the price to value. I will continue to attend the locations but because of the cost it is done on an infrequent basis.
Warm coffee, wrong order, weird COVID-19 policies - wanted me to throw out coffee so they don't have to touch it. Wanted me to wait while they brewed more coffee - Refused to bring it to my table when it was done. It wasn't busy at the time either. I regret that at this point I lost it and raised my voice. Back at my table I then discovered that had also substituted a muffin instead of a scone without asking. When I noticed, they told me to throw out the muffin then went looking for a scone and found out they were out. They did refund my money. A culture of poor customer service seemed to be evident. Even the supervisor/manager seemed to be just going through the motions to get rid of me. Disappointing. Won't go back.
I love Panera, its one of my favourite places, but this consistently has been the worst location I have been to. Today, I ordered the you pick two (which comes with a side), and was only given half of the meal with no side. When I went back to ask where the rest of my order was, I got it about 10 minutes later missing the avocado (on the chicken avocado melt) and still did not get my side, but I just gave up. Not to mention my friend was also not given his drink. Over the last 4 years this has happened consistently, and after giving it one last try, I will not be back. Very disappointing

Very poor service. We wanted to eat something for dinner before catching a movie next door at the Landmark theatre. There was only two other people in the restaurant at the time. Ordered our food and we’re given a buzzer for our food when it was ready. Waited for approximately 20-25 minutes and finally had to tell the cashier that we had to leave as the movie was starting. She went back to check and apparently they hadn’t even started on our order. I asked for a refund as we were late for the movie. Two managers and ten minutes later I finally got reimbursed for our food. Not even an inkling of an apology on their part or acknowledgment of the inconvenience they caused us. Unbelievable poor service.
This is the second Panera I have ever been to. Sadly, this location was well understaffed. It took 20 mins to get a coffee made. Then almost another 30 mins to get a take out lunch made. One item was a Mediterranean bowl (delicous with a baguette), the other was a Mediterranean Sandwich and an apple. I would not be writing this review if it was not for the fact, that after 3 hour drive away, pulled over for lunch....and no $15 sandwich. There was lots of confusion with the customer before. Hope this was just a "bad day" for staffing.

Normally I do not leave low reviews however I am over this. We have ordered take out 3 times from here and each time something has happened. The first 2 soups, cookies and drinks were left out. Second time an entire sandwich and today we were given someone else's order. Called delivery company who refunded us and said to call Panera. I have called 8 times and no one will answer the phone. We already have a comp meal sitting in the books there from previous order. I get it, finding staff is hard, I work with the public and fill orders, just pay attention and check stuff before you send it out the door. And a calling customer is still a customer
Panera bread at Dalton avenue in Kingston, ON has pathetic service 1) They took long to make my hot chocolate (That was the only order I had) 2) To my surprise the hot chocolate was served cold. It was even colder than any room temperature drink. (I had my winter gloves on and held the drink by sleeve, so I couldn’t realize it was cold while leaving the store) 3) They do not answer phone calls, neither they have a system to leave voice messages. I made 6-7 calls just 5 mins after I left the store and the phone just kept ringing all the while. 4) Basically I lost my time and money for a drink from a well-known food outlet.
We are very frustrated with Panera at this time. A few times, they haven’t added the cheese and croutons to the bag for French Onion soup! Tonight, we got the pick 2 and we wanted apples as our second item, got home and guess what? No apples in the bag! Also, it was starting to become dark and cold this evening and people were eating on the patio as the indoor dining was not open yet! I say shame on you for not opening your restaurant now! Dining rooms can be open for full capacity now. What’s up with that? Not customer friendly! Wow! Are you going to make customers eat in snow storms too? You can do better.
Had such a positive and lovely experience at Panera in Kingston yesterday. The manager respectfully and regrettably informed us the system down and not accessible. We were offered to wait in the dining area which we accepted. The manager (Sue Ann?) kept us in the loop while apologizing for any inconveniences, offered us a free cookie, and was friendly and open during what could only have been a stressful time for her. Eventually everyone realized we could order online for rapid pickup which we took advantage of. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, all in all a 10/10 experience!
Probably won’t be returning to this location. I paid over 6$ for half a bowl of Mac n’ cheese which is absolutely outrageous. I wasn’t asked what side I wanted for my pick 2 and was given a cold squished bun. Last time I had pick 2 it came with a nice piece of baguette. For a $20 meal I expect way better. Also, for a place that you expect to have coffee shop vibes, there is no wifi which was so surprising. Plus the coffee was burnt and gross. It’s a nice spacious, sunny location but overall really disappointing

I was a bit disappointed at my last visit March 2, 2023. Service was slow (although it was lunch time). I ordered the Pick-2 with the Smoky Buffalo Chx Melt and Asian Sesame Salad. The salad was fine but the sandwich was a lot of sauce with very little filling. My wife ordered 1/2 Med Veggie Sandwich and one French baguette with salad (her order was good but the baguette was missing which was OK in the end since she was full anyway). The bread is always excellent, staff are friendly. But, for $42.78 for my wife and I (no beverages) it's a bit pricey for a mediocre sandwich.
What is the matter with your website??? Every time I want to go on and check the menu items - I have to go thru and an ordering process just to see what items you sell??? Horribly frustrating software. AND, I tried to go to customer care to advise you of this frustrating software issue and all that does is bring me to the ordering page again!!! Perhaps if your site stopped making people angry, they might see what food items you sell and go out to eat at your café. Service at Panera is always pleasant and food is always fresh and tasty but your website is simply awful !!!
I am a big fan of Panera Bread but my 2 last experiences in this restaurant brand were not good, including this one at Kingston. Unlike the last experience at Ottawa where the employees at the cash machines were not nice, here the girl was nice and smiling. The food was good as usual but the peel of my avocado was not removed. I agree it is not the end of the world but I thought Panera Bread had higher standard. I used to drive some extra miles to go there, but I will think twice now. At least in Ontario. I have always had great experiences in USA.
Went for dinner here with a few friends, store did not have many menu items. (Out of bread choices, no Mac and cheese, no Flatbread) A lot of the items we did order had to have substitutions to them. Upon returning home we come to find out that our order was made on a bread choices we did not ask for, one sandwich was made of 1 part whole grain bread 1 part tomato bread and we did not have forks for our salad. They did not inform us that they decided to change the bread on us, which is bad communication on their part. Food is good how
Lately service has gone downhill… my last straw was receiving a cinnamon raisin with cream cheese bagel when I asked for cinnamon crunch with butter. THIS is the replacement bagel I got after going back through and heading to work. Had to spread the butter across the basically untoasted bagel with my finger since I didn’t have enough time to go back a third time. I’m just done with this place.

My partner and I ordered some lunch here and it was anything short of amazing. My tomato creamy soup tastes like tomato juice, my grilled cheese sandwich was as hard as a rock, and my partners roasted turkey and cranberry flat bread sandwich tasted like wet dog (she ordered this before and it was amazing, however this time around it was certainly a miss). I guess you have to be eating in at penera bread in order to have a satisfactory meal. (This was NOT worth the 28 dollars I paid, and I will not return here).
Had Panera delivered to a staff meeting. No complaints. So I decided to go to restaurant with my hubby. Horrible experience, couldn’t hear cashier to place order, no place to sit. Food arrives, big bowl with a little bit of soup (4.59) half sandwich (6.39) a very small cup for a drink (2.59). Sandwich bread was soggy on both sides, literally wet, yet it was toasted. Very dissatisfied. On the way out walked into a random table, no chairs, placed in the path to the exit. Total waste of 27.52. Do not recommend.
Hours are often inconsistent with what they have posted online, with service closing even hours before what’s listed online. Unfortunately this has been the slowest “fast food” restaurant I’ve ever encountered. I waited 13 minutes behind just one other car at the drive thru and when I got to the window my beverages hadn’t even been started so had to wait another 5. I waited 18 minutes in all just for 2 fountain drinks, not even a “thanks for waiting” from the cashier — avoid the drive thru at all costs.
Good soup it ends there.... I got the steak and cheddar... it was supposed to have horseradish mayo and pickled red onions... oh ya and steak... there were three thin, I mean thin slices of meat, no sauce, no onion and the bread was stale. Super expensive for the minimal amount of anything on my sandwich. We got there at 8pm and was told by the cashier they close at 9pm.... like it would take me an hour to eat 4 bites of "sandwich" and 6 tablespoons of soup. Ridiculous!!! Won't be returning.
Like some others have noted, the place is dead, dirty and the staff are lazy. Service is slow and the staff miserable! I especially enjoyed watching a woman employee (red/black plaid jacket) smoke her cigarette directly on front of the door and stamp out her cigarette butt along with her others that she left there! Yikes! What a disaster - the head office should revoke their franchise because this place reflects so badly on the other restaurants in the chain that keep the standards so high!
For the price, this place is a total let down. I drove from the other side of the city just to get some French onion soup only to find out that their dine-in area is not open. I was really looking forward to sitting down and enjoying my soup but instead I had to sit in the front seat of my car and add the croutons and cheese to the soup myself. I also got a 1/2 grilled cheese which was absolutely disgusting and soggy. For the $15 I paid (not including any beverage) I will never go back!
Everything was good. Just like every other Panara I've been too. The dining room could use more routine cleaning. Tables were not wiped.

I had the cinnamon crunch bagel and cream cheese, which was delicious, however, I ordered cafe latte and sat down. When they brought my bagel I was told they didn't have any expresso beans so couldn't give me a cafe latte. Why wasn't that known at the cash before I paid? They said that I could have a refund or a coffee, so I said a coffee, but expected a partial refund as I'm sure a coffee didn't cost $4.29 as I was charged for the cafe latte. So much for the free bagel!!
This restaurant must be going out of business. EVERYTHING was out of stock, bread for sandwiches, butter for bread/bagels, soda from the dispenser, nothing decaffeinated, and the milk was curdled. It was very limited selection and very expensive for lunch. I’ve had Panera before in other cities and it has never been this bad.

First of all I find the food here just ok. I went in today to get 2 half sandwiches with salad and it came to 35 dollars! My sandwich was soggy and basically just a couple giant pieces of chicken and some tomatoes with skin so dry I couldn't bite it off. My salad was made with mixed greens that appeared on the verge of spoiling. I will never return. For that price I can go to a restaurant with full service and get 2 entire freshly made sandwiches.
On a cold wintery, blustery day, there's nothing better than soup and sandwich and Panera Bread in Kingston, Ontario fit the bill. This location is just off Division Street not far from 401 Highway and is a welcome change to the other fast food choices available. I ordered the Chicken noodle soup and Grilled Chesse Bacon sandwich with kettle cooked chips. Service was quick and staff very friendly. Due to Covid-19, fine in was not available.
Stopped in for a snack when passing out through town. The coffee size is huge! Ordered a med and it was immense. Let's talk about a Bagel with cream cheese. I personally feel that the cream cheese should be served on the bagel. This was served in a separate container for self application. The bagel was decent.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Place is dead. Waited 5mins to be acknowledged, 10 mins to be served. They were out of a lot of baked good and no baguettes. Food came fast and was good. Dining room is gross, very dirty. The whole drink and coffee station should be gutted and cleaned. The black tea has a make shift cover that allows the product to be open to the the air. 50% of the tables were dirty. Panera bread, you need to do better.
Not impressed today. As I'm giving my order, the young girl turned her head to watch another employee. I stopped talking which seemed to snap her out if it and finished taking my order. It was a bagel and cream cheese. Time on the receipt was10:06. Time of delivery was 10:20. It was just a bagel! I kept hearing sorry to customers for the wait. Not sure what the issue was as it wasn't busy at all. Not the experience I had last time.
Sitting here feeling very well serviced at Panera Bread in Kingston. When I received my order I noticed a small mistake. I asked to get it fixed and without a second thought the person helping gave me a refund on my sandwich, a replacement sandwich (+left the first one) and also gave me a free pastry. 5 stars for going above and beyond to make my meal experience here something worth repeating! Also, everything tasted great!
I'm a fan of panera... sometimes. I like their food but too often they mess up orders. Service is also typically poor. For example, today the lady at the cash said they couldn't accept the order I tried to make however I had no trouble making the order online. So, I made the online order while in front of the cashier. Why make your customers go through that hassle?

I used to eat here but will not anymore! Lunch was to be provided for the volunteers at the Humane Society Big Paws event today and for some reason it was cancelled?? Thanks for NOT supporting the good people supporting and doing a great event that is for the animals of our city.... The event volunteers are working very hard and now have to leave the event to find lunch, this takes time away from a very good cause.
I used to go there about twice a month and enjoyed it, but yesterday morning I went there and ordered 4 sandwiches and all of them were EXTREMELY small, way below average!! I have had their sandwiches many times before, and they were definitely not that size/length. So they are either making their sandwiches smaller for the same price or the person who made them cut the bread too small. I'm not going back.
They gave my order the the wrong person. I had to wait for it to be made again. The food was terrible and over priced. The staff were mean to eachother. The dining room was dirty. I do not understand why people go there. No plans to ever spend my hard earned money there again.

Went in looking forward to something yummy… first bite …. Hmmm wrong order! Go back in and as kind as they were to fix the order the sandwich was less than desirable!!! One would think buffalo chicken might actually have some buffalo sauce instead on just warm bun with grated chicken and melted cheese. So disappointed ☹️

You can order soups starting at 1030 . Ordered at 10:43, got an email stating ready for pickup at 10:51. Don’t bother ordering soups or anything because this restaurant doesn’t get them out until 11:00. They’ll even mark your order ready for pickup if they haven’t even started it yet . Wasted my time while I Sat there for 35 min while they sent soups and mac out the drive thru
My coworker and I were yelled (literally) at by one of the food staff behind the counter today for touching a food order that we thought could have been ours. We were scolded and asked for a refund and to speak to the manager. None of the three managers came to address the issue. I had to tell the worker to stop yelling at my friend. Totally not ok!!! Will never go back
Not great tonight. The soup was delicious and my sandwich was ok but the sandwich my husband had got had nothing on it but the meat. The person asked what my husband wanted and he requested everything that usually comes on that sandwich (veggies, sauce, etc) and none of it was put on. It was really disappointing to discover this after we were already home.
It was ok. Squash soup was very sweet and salty, and I love salt, but a little over the top. Cutlery was not inspected as our fork had dried lettuce on it. We ordered 3 soups and received 1 spoon. Kinda a no brain to supply proper cutlery. I'd go again just to see if it was just a bad day for the staff or if this will he a regular occurance. Happy Sunday
Awesome service, cashier even helped my son to choose the item from menu and changed to soft bread because of his braces. Very patient and polite staff.

Great coffee but it's usually luke warm. Last time I went the coffee was put out at 4:30pm and it was 7:20pm when I arrived so I had to ask them to put out some fresh pots. When I ask for a bagel I have to request it lightly toasted otherwise it will get scorched black. I keep going back because I like the atmosphere but it's not really worth the price.
No signs or cones to tell customers drive thru was closed, except you pull into the drive thru to an employee answering every call and telling everyone to go inside. The dining area is quite messy and they are out of sides for every soup / salad. They are clearing understaffed and out of tons of product for food menu and also the beverage menu.
Like the food, but it's very expensive for what you get. The staff did not do a good job of explaining what my options were in terms of combos. Ended up ordering a full grilled cheese and large bowl of soup. With the sides of a piece of bread and a small apple it was $20 with a drink. Even with reward points it's way too much for a casual meal.
Great service from the counter and kitchen staff to the dining room staff. They were agreeable to allowing my daughter to try a sample of one of the soups to see if she liked it before I ordered her a whole bowl. It was Thanksgiving day and they were very busy, but everyone was well organized and there were no issues. Staff were very friendly.
Food is delicious, staff are very friendly, it's very clean, and a great location. I did receive the wrong kind of breakfast sandwich but when I brought it to their attention, they were very apologetic and quickly made me the correct sandwich. Whether you're grabbing a quick meal or some of their delicious desserts, it's a great place to go.
Was one of the worst meals I've had in Kingston. The sandwich was poorly presented and tasted terrible. I couldn't believe the prices for a very small sandwich. I would expect to pay a couple bucks not fifteen and no sides to boot. Don't recommend it at this point and am weary of going back. They refunded my money with not too much problem
So happy to have found this place amongst junk food. And greasy restaurants! This was a big relief to us parents at a hockey tournament sick of the constant burger, pizza and fries diet when travelling. We would love to see a second location in downtown Ottawa! The food is amazing! And the prices and calorie posted on the menu are welcome
Slowest service and took forever to get my order right ( as simple as a bagel and drink( which he still messed up) . Bagel was cold and had a glob of butter in the middle, not spread out. Won't be back.

I love the choices and food but be warned do not get up from your table to go to the washroom half way through your meal. If so you will come back to a cleared table and your expensive food in the garbage. A little too quick to clear the tables. And really just a waste of food. Just a word of advice go to the washroom before eating.
Front line workers not aware of my catering order placed three days previously for pick up at the time I arrived. A manager had put it somewhere and not told anyone. This was finally sorted out but the sandwiches were so dry it was like eating cardboard.

The options looked great online but the product was not worth it at all. It was over $40 for two soups, a sandwich and a salad which seems crazy. Soups were not hot. Quality of all four food items were poor. Sandwich was on par with Tim Hortons and you can find much better soups at any average restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it.
Panera Bread used to be a favorite, but the food price has gone way up while the food quality has gone way down. I won't be visiting again after today's visit, its just too pricy for what you get.

Hoping for a gluten free sandwich, but the staff politely explained why it's not possible since they bake the bread on site. They did however open the ingredients book to ensure the soup was gluten free as well as the kettle chips, so I had a delicious pumpkin soup with seeds in it, and dunked my chips into it as well! Yum!
Cashier was very friendly. Our order was ready but it was not handed to us until we checked on the order. By the time we opened up our order in the car outside, our sandwiches were soggy.

Nice service but exceptionally disappointed in my sandwich. Had the same one several days ago in the US which was 10/10 and this was 1/10. Wish I had taken my receipt as I would have gone in to complain. Grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. Had 2 tiny tomatoes, 2 small bacon strips and could hardly see the cheese. Yikes!
Use to love ordering here, recently every order has been wrong. Received my iced drinks today hot for the second time in two weeks. Management must have changed for the worse, sad to see.

Had the Mediterranean Bowl with 'chicken' and was very disappointed. I expected a reasonable portion of chicken but, at best, there was no more than an ounce of meat. This place is way overpriced and very overated. Wendy's salad is much better, they give you a good portion of chicken and way more variety in the salad.
Very overpriced and underwhelming. Quality of ingredients is poor, there's barely anything in the sandwich, very gross. If you're stopping to charge your car, go to the pita pit instead

Overpriced food and dull atmosphere. For the price they charge you might as well eat at a Montana's.

I've eaten here several times while in town for work and have never had a bad meal. The service is great; today they didn't have any yogurt cups and the lady working drive thru offered to whip one up for me . I had the avacado and roasted turkey BLT and it was delicious. A little pricey but it was quality food.
Food was average. Found portions to be small. The Mexican corn chowder was bland. The baguette was dense and not very good. Mac and cheese was good. Again, portion size was small.

Cozy atmosphere, great place to take a break from driving. Unfortunately, both times I visited, they made an error on my order but they corrected it immediately. The staff is very nice and when I asked about ingredients, the took out a binder with all the ingredients in each dish to ensure I was well informed.
Good place to have a sit down meal. There is tons of space and the upkeep is good too! The staff is courteous and helpful. The food tastes good and if there aren't too many people, wait time is 5min. Ample parking space and this place is well connected with Kingston transit bus 701 as well. Bon appetite
Panera bread is a good Patisserie/bakery style restaurant. There is ample seating in this location which offers coffee and assorted drinks on tap. There is a car charging station nearby. Try the soup in a bread bowl, it's delicious. The salads are also very good, very fresh bread and desserts.. Thanksa!
Worst restaurant experience of my life! Terrible customer service they where rude completely messed up my order, then continued to gaslight me that I messed it up on my part. All the food tasted awful and made me feel sick, after waiting 30min with only 2 other people in the store. Will never return.
When customers come in, rule #1 is serve them, not greet them and then answer the phone them tell them to wait while you are on the phone. Sorry we were such an inconvenience...I have removed the app from my phone, right after we left and went to another restaurant for lunch.

Had the "pick 2." Turkey chili was yummy, as was the chicken salad sandwich (I know the name was fancier than that, but that's what I remember). Staff were very helpful, and they were very kind to replace a sandwich for my daughter that accidentally found is way to the floor. An enjoyable evening.
A healthier option to traditional soup and sandwich places. All was made fresh and delicious

Coffee was a 10 minute wait that never came. Settled for stale cold coffee that was already brewed. Brownie tasted like something they bought at a grocery store and took the wrapper off. Dining room was a mess. The front counter staff was extremely friendly but she needed help. Will not return
Tina the manager was very Unprofessionalsoup was excellent the pizza could’ve been way better We got the pic two when picking up the order she informed us that she had none of the soup and wanted to charge is the regular price for the special when it was their mistake I will never return
Unable to choose curbside pickup for rapid pickup anymore. Food is good, but uncomfortable with how confined the rapid pick up area is. It does not allow for social distancing even if you're just picking up food as there are benches across from the shelf with unmasked customers.
This location was surprisingly quiet and empty. Unfortunately, they were out of coffee, which was a bit puzzling. We stopped at the Tesla chargers primarily to use the washrooms, which was a definite plus for this location.

Even though our tomatoe soup and Autumn squash soup were delicious. We were very desappointed by the fact that they didn't have the onion soup. Was told they won't carry it no more. So sad. Will be considering an alternative, no onion soup and no more service to the table.
Even after the manager came to us to tell us they had just run out of multi grain rolls, and offered multi grain bread as a sub (which we gladly accepted), the multi grain bread never came. Neither did the side we ordered. Lots of apologies rec'd, but still no performance.
Panera... what happened? This used to be an amazing breakfast and lunch place before the pandemic. Bustling busy and well taken care of. Now it's dirty old worn out furniture hardly any sweet treat choices or bread. The sandwich had half the amount on compared to before.
Great food, loved the sandwiches personally, didn't take much time

Panera Smokehouse BBQ Sandwich and Tomato Soup
Panera Bread unfortunately the soup was old. Was to thick. Staff was ok. The place looked run down.the seat covers were used and ripped in just about everywhere. The colour skim needs to be address. Not much foot traffic. Not even the coffee could pick you up. Sad fate.
The place is showing a lack of investment in the facility, with a jury-rigged dining room layout and hand-made signs taped all over the place. However, the steak and arugula sandwich was quite good and served fast, making it a good lunch option for highway travellers.
Drive thru is always a pleasure, very friendly and efficient staff. I love their mac n cheeses and my boyfriend loves their grilled cheese. Unfortunately their takeout isn't spectacular, I got a chicken sandwich that had a funny taste to it like it was freezer burnt.
The pizza was doused in a sauce that did not taste good. The tomatoes were raw. Did I mention, it is also overpriced imo?

I usually love this place, however when we went this most recent time we were charged the price of regular portions for two items and were only given the portions for the pick 2 option... Didn't realize till we left that we had been charged so much.
Very long wait, w no customers. Fresh bread was In a box just sitting out in the area customers walk by to exit store? Is it free? Forgotten? You are not letting ppl inside due to laziness, not covid. Plenty of space inside for limited safe service.
Lovely place to sit and reflect over a coffee or bagel. The space is fairly open so if you don't want to hear other people's conversations bring headphones. Free WiFi and good outlet placement at the tables make it a good place for laptops too.
Despite the pandemic, staff remain friendly and ready to help. New items on the sandwich menu. Quality of ingredients and baking remain excellent. For the weary traveller, washrooms are open. Sample parking. The outdoor patio should open soon.
