My husband and I adopted a beautiful german shepherd last week from the humane society. We brought him to paradise for a check up. He became anxious and started barking (as dogs do). Due to his barking Dr. D would not complete a physical on him. I understand this decisions as she felt it was best for everyone involved. What I do not appreciate is the fact that she told us we should take him back to the humane society multiple times throughout the appointment. She took it upon herself to assume that since we are a young couple we do not understand what it takes to own a german shepherd and told us he will not be a good member to the San Diego society. She also compared our dog to a special needs child. I found Dr. D to be extremely offensive and rude and therefore we will never return to paradise. However, the vet assistant Tyler was wonderful and very professional as he was the only member of the team to actually listen to us. Response to owner comment: You educate owners by telling them to return their pet to the shelter? Multiple times? You educate owners by telling them their pet is the equivalent to a child with special needs? Implying that a special needs child is some kind of a negative reason to get rid of our pet? How is that not offensive? As a teacher, I work with special needs children daily and they are nothing short of amazing. As I stated in my original comment, I was not upset about no exam being completed. I was upset at the utter disrespect that Dr. D showed us. I have not called Dr. D back because I realized I do not care to hear whatever that terrible woman has to say. All I hope is that she learns to think about what she says before the words come out of her mouth.

Dr. D is a fantastic healthcare provider for my dog, Max. I trust her fully in her medical evaluations and decisions pertaining to the best treatments to pursue and preventative care to ensure a long healthy life. So many veterinarians run their clinic by the numbers to stay as profitable as possible. Dr. D schedules visits with ample time to fully evaluate and answer any and all questions I have about my options. I have never once felt rushed or pressed into making a decision I was uncertain to make. I have never had any interaction at Paradise Veterinary Hospital that was short of amazing thanks to Dr D and her amazing team who runs P.V.H. Heather Ryan RVT who is the office manager deserves a shot out! She is very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of veterinary medicine. She speaks with certainty and it is very comforting to talk to on the occasion Dr. D is unavailable. If you love your pet and are looking for a Veterinary Clinic; I highly recommend P.V.H. for you!

I was referred to Dr. Kim by one of her dozens of satisfied clients and really loved meeting her. Dr. Kim even made a special space in her calendar for Monty's initial visit, permitting him to come into her hospital immediately after the last appointment of her day. Her kindness to him during his initial examination--during which Monty mistakenly took it upon himself to attempt to protect me--was truly wonderful to behold. Dr. Kim could easily have taken him into the back room to finish his exam but kept him right in the exam room with me and showed him that I was safe in her presence. After that, Monty calmed right down and happily submitted his 50-pound, 15-month-old puppy self to her kind ministrations. Further, I was truly touched that Dr. Kim used peanut butter on a spoon to distract his attention while he received his rabies shot. From all of this, I immediately knew that my beloved puppy had found the perfect vet for all of his future medical needs. Thank you, Dr. Kim!

I love Paradise Veterinary Hospital. I recommend all of friends to this location. It is CLEAN and the staff is amazing. I have two large dogs, and they love coming here. My golden retriever loves it because of all the snacks they give him ahaha and my other dog loves the staff. Peanut my golden recently had quite a few procedures done and Dr. D was patient in explaining everything going into the surgery as well as post op procedures. We even came in for a follow up free of charge too. I love that they open on weekends, and appointments are usually open if you book ahead of time. And if your pets just need to get their yearly vaccinations, you just drop on by and they will have a tech that can treat them in a few minutes free of charge (you still pay for the meds but not a doctors visit price). And not to mention their online system where you can access your pets vaccinations 24/7. You have no idea how many times it saved me while I was at the groomers or boarding my babies.

Dr. Dembinski is the absolute best vet on earth! She really listens to parents and always gets to the root of whatever problem your pet is having or she will send you to someone who can. I especially like that she is constantly attending continuing education courses and is up to date on all the cutting edge vet technology. She takes pet nutrition very seriously, too, and recommends the right food for your pet. I love this veterinary hospital and its warm and beautiful decor. Fantastic staff and they always take such excellent care of my baby! No annoying "up-selling". Every time we go in I know we are in the best of hands! They do excellent dental cleanings and recently my dog had a lump removed and he recovered perfectly! Dr. D did a beautiful job! Oh, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Heather (aka the "cat whisperer"), who is a very skilled RVT!! Hands down, the best around! Paradise Veterinary Hospital has my vote for vet hospital of the year!!

I have a 7 year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who competes in agility and tracking. For the past 2 years he had had progressive problems with early onset arthritis in his hips and knees. I took him to an Orthopedic Surgeon at a specialty hospital who said that he should have stem cell injections in his hips and knees. The cost of the procedure was high because it was a specialty practice with a fancy facility and high overhead. An agility friend referred me to Dr. Dembinski because one of her dogs had severe elbow dysplasia and Dr. Kim did the stem cell procedure at a good price. She treated my dog last week and I was very impressed with her practice. The cost was half of what it would been at the specialty hospital. “Kirby” is recovering very well, and I highly recommend Dr. Kim and her staff for anyone who needs a great vet!!

Took my very anxious dog, Brody, there today. I avoid all public places and other people because Brody has some serious fear and anxiety. We have not been here in a few years because he is so difficult. Dr D is aware of his issues and has been helping me for years. She came in the room, spoke softly to him and let him do his pacing and examined in between his anxiety breakdowns. She gave him treats and consoled him. He responded to her so well and was actually a very good dog. I would not take my ill behaved, anxious dog anywhere else. ( I spent lots of money on training.. he learned to sit.) He is comfortable there, she works with his quirky personality. She spent time with me, explaining new ways to help calm his anxiety all the while calming him. Great experience..great care!

My (now) 4 year old dog has had heart issues since a puppy. I have gone to multiple different vets in the area, but really struggled to find a practice that took time to answer my questions about his general health, instead of immediately trying to send me to the VCA for his heart. Dr. Kim Dembinski has gone above and beyond in addressing my concerns with Otis, as well as providing direction on services he actually needs as opposed to doing all the tests that I requested initially out of panic. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is searching for a caring veterinarian in San Diego. As an added bonus, their prices are reasonable and inline with some of the low cost vets that I have taken Otis & fosters to.

I have been bringing my cats and dogs to Dr. Dembinski for approximately ten years and I have followed Dr. Dembinski to three clinics, the last one her own! Congratulations to her! She is such a caring and thoughtful veterinarian, always taking the most amazing care of my pets. I am also always appreciative of the fact that she tries her best to keep the cost of my pets' care down as much as possible without compromising their care. She now has the best vet tech (Heather) in her employ so that is an added bonus!!! Me and my wife went with Leo, my 10 week lab puppy.. We are first time dog owners and we were little unsure how the appointment was going to happen overall, and had lot of questions. It was extremely smooth, went into parking and Leo was taken inside on time. Dr. Dembinski and her support staff were super helpful. Dr came outside in parking lot where we were waiting while they were checking Leo inside the hospital. She answered all our questions (we felt bad that later we did not ask her to come inside the car, it was super hot outside) she gave us lot of suggestions and all of that was also emailed to us in the report card. Very happy with our visit.

My dog (Jovie) is my life, and I don't trust her with just anyone. I have heard nothing but good things about Paradise Vet Hospital, and it did not disappoint! Everyone I met was very friendly and professional, and the office is beautiful and welcoming. Dr. D and the vet tech Heather put my pup at ease in no time. The exam was thorough, vaccinations were quick and easy, and they took extra time to explain everything to me. I left feeling confident, and my pup left with a belly full of treats! This is the first time Jovie is actually going to look forward to going back to a vet's office!

This was my first visit to Paradise Veterinary Hospital. My dog Marlow is six and has always been very anxious and apprehensive at the vets. In the past we have always had to have him muzzled and wearing a thunder jacket. Dr. D and Tyler took the time and made Marlow so comfortable, that the muzzle and thunder jacket was removed and the visit was a complete success. I would recommend anyone to bring their fur friends here. This was a wonderful surprise for both Marlow and myself....he left with tail a wagging and proud strut! Thanks so much. So glad to have found Dr D again after she left Camel Mountain so many years ago. After bringing home our new pup Zelda we have run into a few health problems but Dr D has always been available to see us even on a last minute Saturday emergency. The staff has been very helpful and always knowledgeable. And the follow up calls and email have gone beyond what I expected. I feel so lucky that they are close to home but I would be happy to drive if needed. I don't write reviews very often but finding great care for our puppy surely deserves a glowing review.

Dr. D and her staff are the best! We have brought our puppy Benelli here since we first got her. They have helped us as promptly as they can, especially since she kept getting sick because of her puppy immune system. We have been here multiple times and have met practically everyone, and our puppy loves coming to the vet EVERY time. The staff is so friendly and caring, and I have never had a problem making a convenient appointment. I appreciate that they always follow up with me after treatment. I always feel she is in good hands when we are there.

I love this veterinary clinic! The staff and Dr. D are really friendly and treat your fur babies so well! They do a great job of making your pet feel calm and relaxed during the visit. The clinic itself is really clean, and I'm always impressed with the care that my cat Lucy gets! They always listen to your concerns before making recommendations and are very professional. I love their focus on preventative care, too - I've made changes to Lucy's diet and environment that have helped her a lot. Highly recommend Paradise Veterinary Clinic!

I have a calico cat (Tutti Frutti by name) who lives up to the reputation of that breed (and then some!). Dr. Dembinski treats Tutti with such consideration and care, and Heather truly is a cat whisperer. If I have to leave my cat in the clinic for treatment, I have complete trust that she is in the best of hands, and will be treated with kindness. The atmosphere is very friendly, yet professional, and the level of care is exceptional. I will write here what I have told Dr. D and her staff: the angels brought them to us.

Brought my 9 and 10 year old golden retrievers here for the first time this year and am so glad that we found Paradise Veterinary Hospital! We have seen both Dr. D and Dr. G. Both are very knowledgeable, friendly, and gentle One of our goldens has horrible allergies and we were given a few different treatment options that our previous vet did not even know about. They follow up each appointment with an email summary and links to information to help us make informed decisions. I highly recommend them!

Our family has been blessed to have Dr. D as our fur kids vet for at least 14 years. Yuki and Kimo are both a little over 14 years old now and they are experiencing all the ailments and difficulties that beset older pets & humans. Dr. D and her staff are always so compassionate and provide us with options whenever available and empathize with us during the rough times. Our boxer, Lizzy, had a dental procedure on 2/22/19. She had canine periodontal disease, grade III. She ended up needing 3 loose teeth removed, also. The actual process and Lizzy's recovery went more smoothly than we ever expected. We were thoroughly debriefed on what occured and walked through her x-rays. Her pain was well managed and healing was flawless - no bleeding. Thank you Tyler, Dr. D., and all others involved in her care that day!

I've been so happy with the care that my little guy, Rafa, gets at Paradise. He's a rescued chihuahua that has a lot of fear issues, and the veterinarians and technicians are always gentle and understanding with him. I can tell they truly care and are not trying to nickle and dime me for treatments that he doesn't need. They are very prompt in responding via email and phone. Plus, I love the festive bandanas he gets whenever he visits!

Dr. D and her staff are amazing! I just got 2 beagle puppies Henley and Brinkley. Today I brought them in for their first vet visit. Everyone was very warm, inviting and professional. Dr. D took plenty of time with my girls and gave them a thorough examination. She answered all of my questions, and even recommended a couple of classes for puppy training. I am very happy that I found a vet that cares for my girls just as much as I do.

Found this vet when I first moved to Mira Mesa. Instantly loved the intimacy of the office! Very small but cozy. The techs are wonderful and don't mind (in fact usually enjoy) that my dog loves to kiss everyone. They are gentle and thorough during examinations. The Drs are wonderful and involved in being a good vet and listener to the owner's problems as well. I have bragged about my vet to many of my friends!

Just brought my 3 year old dog here for the first time & had a great experience! Emrys is a really anxious dog and has a hard time getting check-ups, but she seemed really relaxed here. The vet rooms are really calming, and the staff was really sweet and great with making Emrys feel comfortable. Dr. D is really knowledgeable and explained everything very well. I'm glad to have found this clinic!

Best of the best! My poor boxer was having chronic stomach issues and we were having to see Dr. D every few weeks... we tried different treatments and landed on one that works for Benny. It's been three years since he's had an issue and I'll be forever grateful to Paradise Veterinary Hospital for their care and persistence in finding the right diagnosis. These peeps know their stuff!!

My favorite is the personal emails from Dr. D giving a summary of our visits and wanting to know updates on Kaya's health. Kaya has had a rough puppyhood and Dr. D has made it her healthy and comfortable for the year we have been going here. It is a home environment. It is warm, fun, and serious when necessary. I love this place and I am so happy we found it for our dog Kaya.

I love Paradise Veterinary Hospital! I have taken my cats and my dog there for a couple of years now and the staff is always friendly and knowledgable. Dr. D. is never pushy...she lets me know what can be done and what she would do, but lets me make the decisions I feel I need to make for my pets. I I LOVE that she helps out with rescue cats too!!!

I moved to San Diego mid 2016 and was in search for a vet near mcas Miramar. I came across this vets office and I'm so glad I did! The staff is amazing and tentative. They treated my kittens like their own from the beginning! I have been bringing my kittens there sense they were 7 weeks old! My new pup will also be headed there for check ups

I highly recommend Paradise vet. I'm not from Mira Mesa but the longer drive is worth it for the wonderful staff and care. It is not difficult to book an appointment, prices are fair. Once my Julie was sleeping in a good hiding place and they were totally okay with me coming in an hour late. I appreciate their flexibility and friendliness!

What a genuine & sweet woman Dr. Kim is! She chatted with me like we had known each other for years, I felt so comfortable with her taking care of our dog Remi. My male cat was having trouble urinating and my regular vet was closed on Saturday. I called Paradise Vet Hospital and they took us in that day. The staff were wonderful. Dr D was compassionate and clear. You can tell she really loves the animals (and people) she works with. The entire experience was wonderful!

First time here, and let me tell you how amazing my experience was. They really cared for my baby boy and gave me advice on how he can lose weight and answered all of my questions. I've been to other veterinary clinics and I have never received such one-on-one care before. Bring your pets here!

After my recent visit I felt like this vet wasn’t thorough and also wanted to look for things my dog wasn’t having any symptoms of but just to add extra testing etc while the actual problem go undiagnosed/treated (probably so that it got worse and would later require more extensive treatment).

Dr. D is great. Due to the severely incompetent staff, my family's trip to Disneyland for Christmas is now ruined. Heather failed to give my dog all vacines requested for boarding, so when it was time to drop him off the kennel wouldn't take him. Too late to find another option.

Dr. Dembinski and her staff were very receptive and attentive to all my questions, woes and worries of new puppy ownership. Great team, very professional, so gentle and sweet to my new pup and so much attention to detail in the first follow-up email. So happy I found Paradise!

We met Dr Dembinski, vet tech Heather and their team a little over a year ago with a pet emergency and were so impressed with the professionalism, compassion and level of care for our pet that we highly recommend Paradise Veterinary to all of our friends and family.

Paradise Veterinary and Dr. D are the best of the best! Although I have moved to LA now, I still bring my reactive dog and my cat to her as much as I can. They care so deeply for their patients, and always give my reactive dog the best accommodations.
