I have given this place a few tries now. I think the interior design, plants, and wood are really inviting and my style. The place is aesthetically beautiful. However, unfortunately the first time I had three pastries and they were pretty dry despite looking beautiful. The second time the cashier was extremely rude to me, treating me like I was below her, despite me being incredibly nice to her. This third time sort of did it for me though. The drink I received, while tasting and looking good, had a good quarter inch of the residue on the bottom of the cup once I reached it, concluding that it was not mixed properly. It did not taste good when I accidentally took a big gulp of it. So the drink I paid 5 bucks for, plus a tip, seemed to be rushly made so the barista could return to the back. A few minutes after sitting down I realized that they were playing early 2000's pop, which I found a little out of place in the sort of aesthetic they put on. A couple moments later another girl comes out from the back and turns the music up louder, so that it is now blaring in the coffee shop. I was planning to spend a couple hours trying to get work done but because the music, not to mention obnoxious music, was so loud I finished my drink and left. Music is HUGE for a coffee shop. It sets the mood and tone of the entire experience you have there. While the late 90's to early 2000's is nostalgic for all of us, it is NOT the place in this sort of establishment. It was selfish of the workers to come out and blare it, without asking any of us if it was okay. The music ruined the atmosphere, and I felt like I had wasted my money. Every time I have come the workers will come out from the back, take your order, and then they go back to the backroom, never to be seen again for the rest of your stay unless someone comes and rings the bell. I understand the food is prepared back there, but I suggest there be a slight change in the efforts to make sure your guests are doing well and letting your presence be more known sometimes instead of only coming out if the bell rings. Your place is gorgeous, and that is where the two stars come from. I would consider giving another try if the service and drinks becomes more personal and thorough.... and the music was definitely taken in more selfless consideration.

Upon paying I requested to pay $14 in cash and the rest on my card. I gave the lady behind the register the $14 in cash and she rang up my card. However, she accidentally rang up my card for $14 so I payed $28 overall when the original total was $30. The gal went to get who I assume was the manager from the back. As soon as she came out she was rude and harsh. Instead of forgiving the two dollars which I would assume any business would do when it was a small mistake on the part of their own staff, she decided to void the original order and have me ring up my card again. This was fine and I did so. However, the second time my card was apparently declined even tho I got the receipt and the transaction went through on my side. I began to walk away and she told me it didn’t go through. I explained I didn’t understand and she very rudely and harshly began grabbing the register to turn it around so I could see. She was not kind in the slightest and was actually the opposite. At this point I said forget the two drinks we ordered and I just bought the pastries with the $14 they still had in their hand. She said that the $14 didn’t cover the automatic gratuity but she would let it slide because it had “been a hassle for both you and I”. An 18% automatic gratuity might I add. For someone who is out of town and trying to get a matcha in what you thought was a peaceful place, I would 10 out of 10 not recommend. I got an almond macaron which had zero taste. The strawberry one was fine. Only reason this place gets a 2 star overall is because the girl who originally took our order was very nice. Edit : someone responded to my review saying that the barista went to the back crying asking for help. That’s a lie. She was standing in the door way the whole time and I could see her. She was in fact not crying. Also the pastries that you said were “free” I payed for :). With the cash that was originally given. Also my problem wasn’t with the barista in training it was with the manager with black hair who came out already being rude. The barista in training was the only good part of this experience.

[Names of pastries featured in photos at end of review] Well! I've gone to this bakery in person a few times and it's quite quaint. Not exactly warm, but it wasn't bad service either. What's more important, however, is the food. And trust me, these vegan treats are delicious! As you can see from the photos, PFP gets major points in presentation. The bowls are my own (from Target, cheers) as I've shifted to getting these delivered now instead of going in, but even these cute little plates are completely overshadowed by how gorgeous the pastries are. Despite the trip, they always arrive looking picture-perfect and scrumptious. While I do believe there are some duds on the menu (why am I paying so much for a fancy Hostess cupcake?), overall the pastries taste amazing! The matcha pound cake is to die for and I really must recommend it here. If you are having it delivered, keep in mind that the tart tends to break up quickly if left to sit too long or if put in the fridge, so eat that one first if you plan on ordering a few treats over the course of the weekend. There's a pretty decent selection but I'd probably only give... 3.5 stars for variety. Price-wise... well, sometimes you pay extra for the aesthetic. Sure, there are cheaper vegan bakeries with more variety but do they look this good? You're paying extra for the posh (dare I say hipster?) vibe and for how beautiful the food looks. Ultimately it's up to you if the price tag is worth it for you. For me, Passion Flour Patisserie makes for a great treat after a tough week or a delicious reward to celebrate an accomplishment. Or, y'know, if you just want to pamper yourself! If you made it this far, thank you! I hope you find this review helpful ♡ Names of the pastries featured in the photos;; 1st yellow bowl - Vanilla Cupcake! (The filling, oh my goodness. Just wow.) and two French Macarons, one watermelon and one strawberry cheesecake (they have the best macarons and always have a random, exciting variety!) 2nd yellow bowl - Fruit Tarte! Blue bowl - Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish and that wonderful little Matcha Pound Cake I talked about earlier in the review.

I’ve always been a big fan of their food. It doesn’t matter if you’re vegan or not, those croissants are divine. But I’ve become an even bigger fan of their lattes. I hate to admit that I was a Starbucks girlie. (I think it’s just because they were one of the first major chains to have vegan alternatives.) But their prices have increased exponentially. My drink is now $11.03 before tip at Starbucks. (Not to mention all of the union busting they’ve been doing which just makes the coffee taste even worse when you know that they’re evil). I’m not a black coffee or cold brew type. I need my sweet treat. And Passion Flour has been knocking it out of the park with their flavored latte options for less than half the price I’d pay elsewhere. It’s become apart of my weekly ritual, when I sneak away from my at home office and get a little sweet coffee treat. And everything taste better when you know it’s going to a local small business Ps I think it’s cool to be a small, local, vegan food business that does everything they can to ensure their employees have a livable wage. I think we can all agree that most corporations that have profit margins in the billions can’t even say the same for their workers.

In the past, my family and I have spent a LOT of money here. However, recently we have been going less and less as prices keep becoming more ridiculous, the food less appetizing, and probably will not return as the value is simply not there anymore. Now, an 18% gratuity is automatically added for any order, including takeout orders. So it is not a gratuity, it is an 18% price inflation on already absurd prices, with the “ability to add more” requested by staff. Tips are for good services rendered, not for guilting your customers into paying your staff a living wage. As far as the food goes, over the last year or so, the quality of the food has gone down as well. The croissants have gotten drier, gained a strange chemical taste, and the potatoes became way too salty. Our food has always been gotten as takeout, so staff cleaning the floors is not the reason for the chemical taste. Along with the tiny portions and crazy prices, expect to spend $15-$30 (or more) per person for an unfulfilling meal. When you have multiple other options for delicious vegan food throughout the valley that are 1/2 the cost and 2x the portion, it is hard to justify going here.

I was extremely excited about this amazing plant-based bakery when I first heard of it - it is a wonderful concept and I’m grateful it exists. My experiences there were not the best in terms of customer service. I have visited a handful of times now and the service has been consistent; folks behind the counter seemed disinterested in answering my questions or helping me out and far more interested in the conversations they were having with each other. If this had happened once, that would be understandable, but every time? It was disappointing. I’ve been in customer service (the restaurant industry to be specific) for over 10 years—I would be frustrated if my coworkers treated customers this way. Perhaps this is simply my high standard or perspective. Don’t let it stop you from trying it out yourself—my goal here is feedback. The food was good enough - plant-based pastries are not easy. They were also understandably priced on the high end. Overall, I want to give this place my business, but I want the entire experience to be enjoyable and not to feel like I am a nuisance to the staff when I’m only there for a few minutes.

Vegan menu, not too original. Wife and I stopped in for Sunday breakfast. Arrived at 900am, and they were promptly open, and the staff were friendly. Food was served without too much delay. And of course, the dining area was spotless. On to the food. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, smoked Benedict, cappuccino, and a French pressed black coffee. Each of the meals were served with a side of potatoes that were cooked perfectly. Though we didn't notice any ketchup or hot sauces to go along with them. It would be a nice option. My wife loved her biscuits and gravy. I thought the smoked Benedict could use some work. The 'ham' appeared to be nothing more than the ham substitute I can buy at Harmons/WholeFoods. The hollandaise sauce was a little too gritty. I know it's made using nuts, but maybe a longer soak. The biscuit was also too hard. The smoked tofu was fantastic. Easily the best part the dish. I think they could work that dish and make it something special. The coffe was great! Though I would love a perc brewed option, for refills and sipping while waiting. I'll go again, because there wasn't anything to make me stay away.

I *want* to love it here. I really do. It’s a really cute spot, their pastries look amazing… But I have tried it several times over the last 3 years of living in SLC and I just feel more and more disappointed everytime I go. The pastries never taste fresh (texturally or flavor wise). The croissants are not crisp, rather stale and chewy (and not a good chewy), and I am not exaggerating when I say it tasted like Lysol. Plus, it was 6 dollars. For one Lysol tasting croissant. The price is part of the frustration, because if it was 3 dollars, I would still think it was disgusting but not feel like it was a waste, but I genuinely wouldn’t pay even 10 cents for one ever again. And this happens every time. I always hope it’s just the day, or think maybe if I come back in 6 months something will have changed, but I actually think they’ve gotten worse. I’ve avoided writing a review because as a vegan of 11 years I love having plant-based places around… But I just don’t get how anyone could take a bite of any of their items and think “wow! This tastes great!”

Honestly this has been a LONG time coming, I have been trying to support Passion Flour for years! 1- Every time I go in the staff acts like they are better than us and I’m not blaming a specific person (or a person that hasn’t worked there in months or whatever the excuse is) It’s the whole company/management that makes the whole environment like this. 2- Not believing your customers, multiple occasions has there been and issue and I brought it up and I wasn’t believed. They would have to verify their recipes which okay makes sense but not an apology or even kind attitude afterwards when they realize their error. 3- The environment displayed to customers make it very hard to say anything! The times I have brought up and error you act like I am an inconvenience… So sorry I am here paying for a service and you didn’t deliver so I am saying something very nicely and you act like I am at fault?! 4- Honestly I want to support a vegan women owned company but I have spoken with multiple people about this and the general service we all receive is so bad and mean, please just self reflect and do better.

I heard good reviews from friends about Passion Flower, so decided to drop in and see what it was all about. At first glance, it's an adorable little shop with pastries on display and an urban/eclectic aesthetic. I ordered a hot tea latte and the avocado toast, while those with me ordered the lavender butter toast and the lemon poppy waffles. We also bought a few of the macrons. Now, I know that anything vegan should be appreciated as it is and one should not expect it to taste like the normal food it's imitating (for lack of a better word). On that note, the food was subpar for the price paid. The waffles were extremely hard, as were the macrons, and the toasts weren't very big in comparison to similar places I have visited. The latte, however, was delicious. I know nothing of their cakes and other desserts, which did look amazing and boasted beautiful colors and accents. Others have told me good things about the chocolate cake. This is definitely somewhere I'd go for coffee with a friend again, but the prices are an easy deterrent after eating here.

Alright, I drink a LOT of coffee. Y’all, THIS place makes a GOOD cup of coffee. Each cup brewed to order and they would not allow a less-than-perfect shot of espresso to go in my cup no matter how long it took (we, like chumps, walked in 5 mins before closing and stayed well after since we’d been chatting the staff up). Sure, I’d like the ability to have a larger size made since it’s SO GOOD, but it’s completely understandable that they don’t offer that since it is brewed-to-order. Also, they have some award winning almond croissants. The owner (she, #businesswomenwhomeanbusiness) went to school to be a pastry chef and has been in the lab (kitchen) experimenting for years to finally perfect VEGAN pastries that are delicious (not easy folks, so much trial and error). Alas, she did it; thank god. And has a great staff to support her as well it appears. They talk great about the owner when she’s not even around (great sign). P.S. Macaroons are fantastic as well.

I don’t care what sad excuses are given for the 18% service charge; it’s a hidden fee and hidden fees are never, ever okay. That’s why I walked out without finishing my order. The excuse that they “nEeD iT To cOvEr WaGeS” is not valid- raise your prices and be upfront about the real price like a normal restaurant. The longer you blow off this feedback from customer after customer, the more your business will suffer. EDIT: The owner claims there are signs posted around the store- to be fair, there is one tiny note posted on the point of sale but it is such a preposterous idea that I was sure I had read it wrong. Nor is it true that the barista said anything about this fee. My suggestion? Re-do all of your prices listed and say, in small font, "base price: $x taxes and fees: $y" and then in a larger font, "You Pay: $X". What the owner refuses to acknowledge and accept is that people feel cheated- and rightly so- when anything comes as a surprise.

It's a quaint establishment that's biggest attraction for me is EVERYTHING is vegan. I've seen others mention that the price to quantity ratio is disproportionate and I somewhat agree but I also assume it's because the ingredients used are (hopefully) of higher quality. I've come here often for brunch with friends or by myself to study and I think it's worth the cost. All the food I've tried tastes wonderful, especially the raspberry pop tarts and the chocolate croissants. My favorite savory item is the ricotta and heirloom tomato toast with balsamic vinaigrette (see attached pic). Admittedly, the service has been hit and miss but I've had more positive than negative experiences. Overall, if you can afford a $5-6+ pastry or $10+ entree with an equally or greater priced latte, I recommend checking this place out! <3

I came in around 2 PM on a Sunday . And it was pretty slow inside . The server started off by letting me know that they were out of pretty much everything .. and then on top of that - they will not honor modifications . She did not have a good attitude or good customer service . AT ALL . I ordered the lavender butter toast , as that was the most appealing thing left on the menu since they were out of so many other things . I also got a London fog latte (also because they were out of the actual tea I wanted) . Once I started with my choices I realized that they were both almost tasteless . My favorite part was the side salad . And that’s INSANE because I’m not a balsamic vinaigrette person . But that was the only thing with the most flavor . This is my second time in and I am just not impressed at all .. should have went to Big O donuts or City Cakes instead .

What a great place. If it wasn't rare enough to find vegan french pastries, this place doesn't just have croissants. There are chocolate pain au Chocolat, vegan ham and cheese, st horn, and all kinds of exquisite treats! Plus they have a full, delicious brunch menu. Yes, it isn't cheap, but... When is the last time you had some really high quality vegan french pastries??

I love it there! It's vegan, no animals harmed. The ambiance is so serene. The food is amazing and the perfect portion - I never leave feeling stuffed or dense. I like to get their avocado toast. Last time I upgraded to have a garlic (and potato, I think) soup, they were perfect together. The coffee is right on target! I wish I could go everyday...the taste is never bitter (shots don't expire before being added to drink, like some franchises don't care to pay attention to) and the sweetner is just the right amount and never over-powering the coffee (again, like most franchises). Over the summer, I purchased my birthday cake here - it was a chocolate lavender cake and it was rich (not to be confused with overpowerering, it was perfect) and moist and I can still taste it from July! I will always return here!

  • Maisey Peterson

I don’t usually give reviews and I almost never give bad ones because I never expect perfection. But I wanted to share my experience just so the staff and future customers are aware and maybe this can be avoided for others! My food was fine. My boyfriend however got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were good! The potatoes were good! But the gravy was SOOO salty. I can usually do salty foods but when I say this gravy was salty I mean like absolutely inedible. And because everything was covered in it, my boyfriend couldn’t really eat much. I was frustrated because his meal was $18 and he couldn’t eat any of it. Hopefully this can be avoided in the future because the food had potential. I do want to let future customers know that the most of food probably isn’t worth the price though!

Passion Flour recently did the cake for our August 6th wedding at Louland Falls and I cannot thank them enough! Our cake was to die for!! It was so beautiful and decorated exactly as I had envisioned. From our tasting earlier in the year to our wedding day Jessica was just awesome to work with. She is truly so talented and her cakes taste as good as they look. If you are vegan this is the obvious choice for your cake but even if you are not you don't need to be to appreciate how good this french patisserie is. If you want to impress your guests and have melt in your mouth deliciousness then the search stops here. They are simply the best I've ever had! Thank you Jessica and everyone at Passion Flour for being a part of our big day and making it perfect :) - Jason & Corinne Morton

Sour? Maybe you are just a sour person. I get that Vegan food isn't to everyone's liking but I have eaten here 3 times... in the last week! Never been prior to 7 days ago. I will certainly become a regular. I've tried numerous items on the menu and from the case. Each has been perfectly and meticulously crafted. I especially like the fact that I can order hot items if I have the time to wait, or simply grab something quick if I'm in a hurry. I've never been a fan of French foods; being Vegan since the 80's it's always been pretty hard to come-by. But now that I've found this place, it will quickly become a staple in my rotation. Thanks everyone at Passion Flower Patisserie! Even though Sour-puss didn't like it. I Love it, and I certainly recommend it.

The Best Chocolate Cake EVER! Where City Cakes failed to help me get a cake for my brother's birthday, Passion Flour came through with flying colors! When I called, the nice lady on the phone explained that the specialty cake baker was out of town so I couldn't get the carrot cake I'd hope for, but she let me know what cakes I could get. She was informative and friendly. When I asked that a message be written on my cake, she said she didn't have much experience writing with icing but she would do her best. The cake was beautiful and guests at the party RAVED about the flavor. And her writing looked just fine. :) It was moist, flavorful, and simply delicious. Most importantly, my brother loved it. Thanks SO much!! I HIGHLY recommend Passion Flour!

I love this place. The lavender oak milk latte is one of the best I’ve had and every treat I’ve paired it with was delicious. The staff is always polite and attentive, even when they are busy. I read through some of their one-star reviews and couldn't agree with what anyone said, but really respected the thoughtful responses from the owner providing helpful insight and advice. TIP: if you are looking for a local gift for a friend/family, pick up their pre-boxed variety pack of macarons.

Without an ounce of hesitation, Passion Flour "takes the cake." We had our wedding cake done by them and not only was the experience with them absolutely wonderful, but the cake was a hit beyond belief! At most weddings, we've noticed the cake barely gets touched by guests, but our cake was praised beyond any expectation. Jess (the owner) pours her heart and soul into the work that she does and as consumers, we're lucky to get what they have to offer. Five years later and we remember the tasting experience and cake, itself, very fondly. Thank you, Passion Flour, for not only making this a culinary experience for us, but something to remember forever! Not to mention, the London Fog Lattes and "Ham and Cheese" Croissants are to die for.

I used to come here all the time, especially when it first opened. Compared to the other vegan cafes/bakeries, a little overpriced, but I get it, its French. HOWEVER, I went there again for the first time in 3 years (I moved), and imagine my shock when they FORCED me to tip 18%. "automatic gratuity of 18% added to all orders". Sit down service, maybe, but my order was TO-GO! And the barista didn't remember to give me my croissant. I stood around for 10 mins after they gave me my drink then had to remind them I was waiting. If you wanna charge a lot fine, and if you wanna add gratuity, fine, but at lease make sure your employees are amazing and that the time spent there is tolerable.

From the owner (in another review): "the auto gratuity of 18% on orders over $30 is to ensure our employees are paid a fair living wage" (even on takeout orders) Lmao, owners/businesses like this are exactly what's wrong with the restaurant industry. The responsibility to pay employees a fair living wage is on THE OWNER, not the customers. Gratuity is just that, gratitude for employees who did a good job. -- No, it's not that we're too cheap to eat out. We have no problem paying 30%+ gratuity if the service warrants it. -- If a business can't stay afloat without paying their own employees a fair living wage, then they deserve to shut down.

I walked in with a cookie, looking for coffee to enjoy with my cookie.... little did I know that the shop I walked by was vegan. They asked me to put my cookie away because of cross contamination. This made for the rest of the time there feeling awkward. They were nice about it, but I was still awkward. The cookie was good. But I wish I had known that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my cookie with my coffee as I had planned. I had asked for cold brew, which they were out of. Instead I got an iced americano, with avgu -i think that was what it was called?- it was really good and I wouldn’t mind having it again. The shop was very clean and the staff was nice... even if I was left feeling dirty and judged for having a cookie.

I hate leaving such a low rating, but I can't get over how awful my experience was here. I took my boyfriend and parents here for my birthday and i was so excited to try this place out and get some yummy birthday treats. I got a cupcake that felt like it had just came out of the freezer and tasted like it had about a tablespoon of salt in it. I am not a picky eater, but this was the worst cupcake I have ever eaten, I couldn't even finish it. I also got a iced London fog latte, which tasted like iced water. Not to mention the server was not pleasant and seemed irritated and bothered by me and was pushy on my ordering right away. Even though there was no one behind us in line. Very disappointing and not coming back.

  • Diavolina Lucidique

It's a cute little place but that doesn't save it from the quality of its food. I've been here twice and haven't been particularly impressed. This most recent time we tried some cupcakes and they were extremely dry and fairly dense, got our stuff to go and while checking out was informed there's an automatic tip included. Editing my review to a single star based on the condescending attitude and response from the owner that was posted not only on my review but several other critical reviews voicing concerns and opinions on the food quality, staff attitude, and automatic tips.

We stopped by with my friends to check out their breakfast because it seemed nice and had soo many nice reviews. Let me tell you that we were disappointed. First of all everything is OVERPRICED like literally not worth paying 16 dollar for half a french sandwich with two pieces of lettuce to the side. Then we thought we could have a quick breakfast and thing would be served quickly but no it took 20 min to serve us when we were the first customers. when we asked how long we have to wait the cashier was just like "oh i dont know" thats not what you tell you customers. you check the time or say it would be ready soon. after getting the food i was just disappointed both with taste, service and price

  • Crystal Rice

The Raspberry Pop-Tart was delicious. I am a big fan of pie crust and this was perfect. I wouldn't mind more filling and the icing brought the right amount of sweetness. The Carrot Cupcake was very good! The frosting was a little salty but it worked well. The cake was soft and fresh. The fruit tart was ok. If you love dark chocolate in your fruit tart, you'll like it. I thought the pastry cream needed vanilla (vanilla bean!), and way less dark chocolate. I know the chocolate is there to keep the shell from getting soggy, but overpowered the fruit and pastry cream. The shell was so hard that i couldn't cut through it easily with a fork. The service was great! Overall, I would visit again!

I love Passion Flour! It’s always a lovely experience chatting with the workers and getting some tasty food! As for y’all who are complaining about the automatic gratuity, cost of living and cost of goods are expensive! They are a small business who rely on the community to stay in business and continue serving us and giving us delicious food and treats! Instead of having a negative mindset, let’s try and keep thing’s positive and realize that they’re trying to do something good for our community! We’ve had too many small businesses close lately because of how expensive things have gotten.

Went to Passion Flour for the first time and really enjoyed their molasses cookie and horchata cappuccino. The atmosphere is really fun and there are lots of places to sit. Love Passion Flour. Have ordered from them many times. The tarts and almond croissants are great along with their entrees. Some of their other pastries, especially the macarons, seem to pick up an off taste which I can't nail down, but it has been present on multiple different items which is why my review is four stars. The tried and true items are absolutely great though! I had to take this from 4 stars to 3 stars, which I hate to do for a vegan restaurant. However I was sent what is almost charcoal for bread. That's not acceptable, even more so at the prices being charged.

we went in to this bakery last week and the cashier was really rude and confrontational abt my friend having to use the restroom, she kept reiterating we had to buy something,,,which is obviously why we went there. it was just super awkward and kinda rude. there is also an AUTOMATIC 18% gratuity fee which is quite ridiculous, especially when they are just putting a cupcake in a tin & no real ‘service’ is happening. if you feel the need to have an automatic 18% gratuity, just raise the prices…i saved my cheesecake and not even two days later it molded in my refrigerator which kinda sucked :/ i don’t think i’d come here again, it’s not worth it!

We consistently order birthday cakes from Passion Flour and have had nothing but an amazing experience with the staff. We love supporting a local business who pays their staff fairly. The quality of our cakes has been sublime — from overall taste to care put into decorating, we will continue to be coming back time and time again for our birthdays and holidays. (Bonus points because this cake also freezes so well! We had left over birthday cake and didn’t want it to go to waste and we were able to freeze it and eat it for a bit afterwards and the taste was still amazing.) Thank you Passion Flour!

Really good all-vegan food, but incredibly expensive. The portion sizes are skimpy too, so you'll need second-breakfast if you don't want to go broke. Would prefer if they stopped being all-organic if that allowed things to be a bit less pricey. You won't spend less than $20 (if you tip) on a meal for one person, but a single dessert might run you around $6 so it might be affordable as a splurge. I recommend the smoked Benedict and the pine chocolate mousse. The little cake things are really dry and not worth the price, and most of the croissants just aren't worth it either. The almond one (not the almond bleu) is really good though.

  • Jordan Dickson

I love this place. Everything I have tried has been very good. I have tried a bite of a lot of the desserts including the oatmeal cream pie and the fudge and they were delicious. I always order some coffee and a side salad. Today I got smarter and ordered 2 side salads. Next time I need to just own up to the fact that I need at least 4 of those bad boys to make a meal. I just love this salad so much I want to make a meal of it. I love that they are vegan-izing so many foods (hostess cupcakes. Sausage egg and cheese biscuits, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict). I will be back many times in the future.

  • Amy Needham

I loved my wedding cake! Jessica and her team were a breeze to work with and extremely responsive. I love how they made my cake vision come to life for my big day. Most importantly, this is quite possibly the best cake I've ever had, vegan or otherwise. It's not just "good for vegan food". This is damn good cake and I challenge anyone who wonders otherwise to go to a cake tasting with Jessica and see if they're a good fit for their wedding. I promise you'll be blown away. Plus, the cake tasting cost goes directly back in to purchasing your cake so there's nothing to lose. 10 out of 10 recommend!

  • Erica Ethington

Sometimes you want Gen Z to serve you coffee from behind a pastry case full of beautiful vegan treats to make you feel like you, and your fellow millennials are still relevant.  This is the place.  I had an iced tea that was delicious, but had more tea leaf remains in it than I would have preferred.  My crepe was tasty, but REALLY chewy and difficult to cut or fork.  I don’t typically eat vegan, so maybe this is normal.  I’d eat it again, it was just odd and mildly difficult to consume sans fingers.  The breakfast potatoes that came with the Benedict were probably the biggest win of our meal.

  • m hogelin

If I could rate this bakery a zero I would. Absolutely never going back. The service was not kind and felt fake. The pastries are over priced for “French” vegan, dairy, gluten free products. And above that an auto gratuity as well as a tip jar located at the register. And I hope to not get another reply from the owner justifying this as they have done with other posts. The cost of wages and cost of high end products, blah, blah, blah. Give me a break! Would not recommend. Do not try their macrons, tastes like you’re eating plants.

I really really want to like Passion Flour- it is a local business, vegan, super cute. This is my second time going there and I just keep on being disappointed. Today, I spent nearly $7 on a 12oz latte and I literally cannot even taste the coffee. is there coffee in it? I am not sure. The last time I went there, I ordered the Tofu Benedict and it was honestly really awful- super salty, the English muffin was super thin and flat, the potatoes were over-seasoned. Passion Flour just really bums me out.

We stopped in on a whim walking into Normal Cone next door (highly recommend normal!). I grabbed a cookie for $7 and was shocked/amused about an 18% automatic gratuity. Yes….an automatic 18% premium on top of your $7 cookie. Cookie was fine, nothing incredible and tasted very average. The automatic tip thing is hilarious, then they ask for an additional tip when signing lol. Again, the cookie was fine, just be prepared they’ll ask for more money than they post on the items when you pay.

Good place to indulge in a vegan treat. Stopped by for a mid afternoon coffee with dessert and we were satisfied with the latte, cupcake, and macaron. I can't attest to other dishes but they looked good. Place was very clean. Only downsides: Be prepared for a 18% surcharge. I didn't mind this (we had good service) but I feel that if I am paying premium prices to dine-in I would like my food and drink served on real dishware rather than to-go containers.

I really appreciate the entirely vegan bakery & food this place provides. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. The bakery items are phenomenal, excellent fudge, croissants, and more. The food items are really where they fall short. $16 for soggy biscuits, watery gravy, and overcooked potatoes seems a bit much. Come for the bakery, but maybe find your breakfast/lunch hot foods elsewhere. Also, their $7 matcha is pretty watery and small (8oz maybe?). They just leave a lot to be desired.

This was our worst experience in Salt Lake City. The service at this location is terrible. We ordered two croissants and the guy at the cashier asked if we want them warmed up, we said yes, and he put them in the microwave, and completely forgot about them. In ten minutes or so we reminded him, and he brought them, actually throwing them at the table. Those ham and cheese croissants were, of course, cold and even somewhat stale. Gunpowder tea was just basic green tea. Macchiato coffee was okay though. This place has an awful price to quality ratio.

  • Heather Hanson

I’m not vegan, but I’ve been a fan of passion flour since the day they opened. Everything is so divine, but my favorite happens to be the almond croissant. You can tell the amount of love and care that goes into everything on the menu. Nothing disappoints. I also appreciate that the auto gratuity insures each person makes a living wage. I am happy to support passion flour and if you haven’t tried it, you have to run there immediately!!

Amazing vegan spot. I'm glad we were traveling through to het to enjoy it. Breakfast was all good- savory waffle and biscuits and gravy off the brunch menu. My daughter had the avocado toast, and it was a good size serving. They had gluten free options, although we would have appreciated more- GF waffle or biscuits would have been great. We had several of the desserts, and they were good as well. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great atmosphere. Be advised that their policy is not to make menu adjustments except for allergies.

  • Kat

I ordered the French dip and it was fantastic. I love the aesthetic and how clean the establishment was. The reason for my 4 stars is because I found a small black hair baked into one of the macarons. It was hanging on the side, but inside the frosting. I caught it before I took any bites. Not a big deal, but when I asked for a new one, she agressively took it out of my hand and gave me a new one. It was strange and off-putting. The macrons were really too sweet as well. I will return again but with some hesitation.

  • Garrett Maxwell

The owner of this shop takes advantage of customers by very cleverly adding on an 18% mandatory 'gratuity' when purchasing -- clever because people are often too bashful to say nevermind at that point of the sale. We all get that running a small business is hard w/ high overhead costs etc. but its better to just be honest and add the surcharge to the sticker price so people don't feel like they're being scammed. Oh and the macrons were probably the worst we've tried, for the highest price too lol

  • Steph

I would’ve given them 1 star but the look of the shop is cute. I ordered the chai and I got milk. There was no chai flavor. With the option of only 2 kinds of milk, oat and soy maybe the oat isn’t the milk for the chai. It just overtook my drink. This was the most expensive chai I’ve ever paid for too and the worst drink. Next time I should just order a pastry and not a drink. It’ll probably be a better use of my money.

Every time I crave vegan desserts, I come to passion flour! My favorite is the almond croissant and the pop tarts. For this trip, we got the muddy chocolate cupcake, lemon tart, almond croissant, and the snickerdoodle cookie. We also got some coffee! It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy some pastries. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars is the price and their food menu, it’s alright. Come for the pastries!

I spent about $50 on a dozen macaroons straight out of the case — which is normal for gluten and dairy free, happy to pay it. But then they charged a mandatory 18% gratuity on top of it?! I didn’t even sit down! I was in and out in 3 minutes. By the time she told me it was being added it was too late for me to change my mind, but I will never come in again. Mark up the prices if you need more. Such a scammy tactic!

I am so glad that I stumbled across Passion Flour while visiting SLC for the first time. I am also a pastry chef who creates vegan desserts, so I am naturally very picky when trying different vegan bakeries. I hired PF and their team to make my wedding cake and cupcakes for the reception and honestly...I was blown away. The artistry was absolutely gorgeous, and that even came in second to the TASTE of the cakes we went with. They really outdid themselves in providing a unique experience for my wedding. Not to mention that my non-vegan, but dairy-allergic husband was SHOCKED that cake that good was actually dairy free. ha ha. I really can't thank you enough.

If you’re looking for a savory breakfast- I don’t believe you’ll find better than the ‘Smoky Benedict’. This buscuit- topped with smoky ‘ham’, firm tofu, ripe tomato, spinach and special sauce is a flavorful and filling meal with a side of home fries. I’ll be dreaming about it for months I’m sure. The crepe is excellent as well- the cream filling tastes really fresh and goes well with the berries. Best vegan meal from my travels so far ✨✨

  • Bryan Perez

Really lovely pastry shop and bakery. I really appreciate how many gluten free options are available. As a gluten free person, finding a damn good baked good is so hard (highly recommend the cream pie). They also have fantastic espresso. One last note - despite what other callous reviewers have to say, I appreciate a business that cares about the well being of their employees and appreciate the surcharge/tip to help supplement wages.

  • Breanna Nelson

Everything looks amazing and the shop is clean and beautifully decorated. The service was great. My only issue was the flavor of the items I bought. They all had a taste that none of us could pinpoint. I tried different flavors of macarons, a chocolate croissant and a couple of cupcakes. My guess was rosemary but I’m unsure. I’ll definitely be back to be sure it wasn’t a fluke.

I've already enjoyed going there for the last few years for their bakery treats, but this weekend I got the pleasure of having them make my birthday cake. They were fantastic about working with me to figure out what I actually wanted, then ensuring it was something they could do. And that cake was probably the best I've ever had, vegan or non-vegan. All my party guests loved it too. Absolutely fantastic.

  • David Smith

Absolutely fantastic! I am a meat eater and was hesitant about a vegan café. My wife was getting her hair cut next door and I needed to get some work done and get some coffee. The Poptart pastry, warmed up, makes we want to go back for that alone. The Americano was perfectly balanced. Staff was very friendly and the lounge was a great place to get a couple of hours of work done. Highly recommend.

  • Audrey Dayton

Absolutely underwhelming and disappointing. I (vegan) brought my non-vegan family here to show that vegan pastries are just as good, which has always been my experience. The cupcakes I ordered were dry and the frosting was sickeningly sweet and grainy from the sugar. I have made better pastries at home for a fraction of the price. Sad that this will be my family's first vegan experience.

  • gh ren

I had a madeleine cookie, chocolate croissant, and chai tea latte. The cookie was fantastic: very soft, fluffy, good flavor. I enjoyed the flavor of the croissant but it was pretty crunchy on the outside and overall it was way too dry. The tea wasn't as rich as I useally like it but that may be due to my first preference not being vegan food. The prices were very reasonable.

  • Gracie Kolbenschlag

I love to see more Vegan places. However, the food is so expensive compared to my favorite vegan sandwich shop in town with significantly lower prices and bigger portions. The food also tastes like cleaner. The fruit tart would absolutely get a 10/10, it’s the best item at Passion Flour and best vegan tart I have had.

We recently ordered our wedding cake from Passion Flour because my husband is allergic to dairy. The tasting / design process was super fun, and our cake turned out exactly how we envisioned it. Plus it tasted amazing, and it was a relief to know that it was completely safe for my husband to eat. They also delivered it to Park City, which was a great bonus.

I come in here every now and again, and I absolutely love the food. I typically get the almond croissant, the chicken salad sandwhich with potatoes and some sort of herbal tea. Staff is friendly and laid back, music is relaxing, and food tasty. I would come in much more often if it was just a little more affordable. Still enjoy it when I can swing it though

Their food is good, but the customer experience just feels cold compared to other vegan places in the area. I got a single croissant to-go, and they added an auto-gratuity and still turned the tablet around saying, "This is just an extra tip if you want to." I was in there for about 2 minutes total, so an auto-grat on that feels like blatant gouging.

  • Vincent Robinson

Food is okay, but a it’s expensive for what you get. My main issue is being forced to tip on top of that. At those prices the owners should be able to pay their employees a fair wage. It should not fall back on the customer. This is also a counter service, not a restaurant. I can’t think of another bakery I’ve been to where I have been forced to tip.

  • S. Porter

1. Amazing coffee. Got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was the perfect amount of creamy and the espresso was smooth! 2. Great assortment of food! If you want a small sweet snack or a full breakfast, they have it! 3. I got a scone, a cream filled horn and an almond croissant. All were amazing and delicious. Definitely check this place out!

  • T Pham

Very cute place with quite possibly the best vegan pastries I've ever tried. They also make a great matha latte. I appreciate how seriously they take cleanliness, sanitation, and social distancing. (They have a stack of sanitized menus and even put on gloves just to swipe a card.) We'll have to come back later to try the rest of their menu items.

  • B B

Phenomenal vegan goodies! Absolutely loved all the pastries I’ve had, and the French dip is to die for! The almond croissant warmed up is...ugh god, just divine! Sad there isn’t something as scrumptious in NYC where I live, but also grateful because I’d be there everyday gorging. Will always look forward to stopping in when in town! ❤️

  • Chris Baney

We bought 10 items from the bakery and all were stale. Poor flavor profiles for tarts (crusts were stale) and croissants were under filled and overcooked. Macarons were far too sweet, the cookie part of macarons should not be rock solid. I feel bad for the vegans that accept this level of poor quality pastries as edible food.

  • Alexx Lenzi

Absolutely amazing food and drinks. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. They not only have an extensive drink menu (with classic espresso drinks, teas, and house specialty drinks), they also have vegan pastries and cakes, as well as vegan breakfast/brunch!!! I would highly recommend to all of my vegan and nonvegan friends.

  • Heidi Lujan

I was really excited for daughter with egg and dairy allergies to try a macaroon. They were disappointingly not that great. There was a weird smell the day we went in, maybe like curry and cleaner? Not a fresh bread or sweet smell like you would expect at a bakery. And I feel like the treats we got tasted like the smell.

First time here, the atmosphere is very nice and sort of cozy, the guy was very easy to work with and his service was good. Coffee is pretty good here and the vegan pastries are great for kids with allergies. Reason for a 4 star is the lady that was there, she was very cold towards our kids and not kind whatsoever.

First time I went it was really good. This last time not so much. I just bought a macaroon and it was definitely several days old. The flavor was bad and it had a wierd texture. It was the mexican chocolate macaroon. My husband also commented that his St. Horn was very stale.

Walked in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Initially didn’t know it was vegan but that’s on me and I honestly still enjoyed it a lot. The space is also very aesthetically pleasing and although we couldn’t sit inside due to covid, I enjoyed my experience here.

Very mediocre. We were excited for all of the vegan options but of the 5 treats we bought, 3 were not fresh and were quite hard. The 2 croissants that did taste fresh were great, but I don't think we'd visit again knowing that most of the pastries aren't fresh.

Underwhelming. My husband had the savoury waffle - dry and hard, lacking any flavor that was attempted to mask with the overly spicy sauce on top. Suggestion, put some spices in that waffle mix, some fresh cilantro too and fill it with some
