Again and again, and again. That how I can describe my experience with Rocco's. I was twice in Bayridge. Yesterday I finally attended Bleecker. And tomorrow I'll come back there. Again:) Bleecker location is definitely must-go place. Cause they have everything there, this is main spot, I guess. Only small part of sweets in Bayridge. Italian cheesecake and Profitroll cake are gorgeous. First one is from ricotta cheese, what makes it quite differ from his regular American style brothers, and Profitroll filled with tender cream filling (not butter) covered with finest chocolate. Main thing is that all their sweets are not execcively sweet (I reviewed pekan, oreo and pistachio cheesecakes for second location also). I would say they are mild, pleasantly sweet and don't leave you with sticky, sugary feeling. And those cookies!!! Guys. Huge and magical. I believe tomorrow I'll stand at least half an hour near the window before I finally can choose between all those wonderful desserts. And...yes,again! I will not stop on only one thing. If you still think, don't, just get up and run to Rocco's! I bet you'll meet me there:) My heart belongs to that place. 08/05/2016: raspberrie pie with french cream filling-yummy thing! Sweeter them others, but yummy yummy! Thin pie crust covered with raspberry jam and chocolate, thick layer of white and light tender french cream, with chocolate and raspberries on top, that give freshness to this dessert. And tiramisu in a cup. That was not best for me,sorry guys. Will not repeat it. But believe tiramisu cake should be different. MUST TRY: ITALIAN CHEESECAKE, LOBSTER TALE, ANY OF HUGE COOKIES!
Came here to get a few boxes of pastries for various events I was going to. I got a bunch of cannoli, which were great. Crisp bubbly shell and each was freshly filled right in front of me. The second box of goods I got consisted of an eclair, a couple napoleons and a strawberry shortcake. Things went extremely south with these. The eclair was flavorless and gluey. The napoleons had goopy cream that looked split and tasted of some weird lemon flavor, and the strawberry shortcake was dry. Honestly the quality was on par with desserts you get at a suburban diner, not an nyc pastry shop. Incredibly disappointing. The third box (rainbow cookies) I’ll be trying tomorrow, so we’ll see. Needless to say, I Won’t be back. Btw, the dozen cannoli, 2 napoleons, 1 eclair, 1 strawberry shortcake and 1lb of rainbow cookies came out to over $100. Maybe that’s the going rate for a Manhattan pastry shop but it seemed steep.

Some really nice pastries (especially anything cream-puff adjacent). Others were borderline very bad (their rainbow cookie was horrible!). The mix in quality was a bit strange, but understandable given how many items they sell — it’s probably very difficult to ensure quality control across so many items. I’d recommend counter-service/take-out only. The table service was the rudest service I’ve ever encountered, ever. The waiter was aggressive and combative, nearly yelling, because he thought that I had placed an order with the counter before sitting down (which I didn’t — this is something they apparently don’t allow, but it’s not something I did). His English was also pretty poor, so he was nearly yelling for multiple minutes before he realized that he was wrong and that he had totally misunderstood the scenario, and then finally allowed me to place an order. What an experience.
Pasticceria Rocco in NYC is a gem! The cookies are excellent, and the desserts are absolutely fabulous. What sets this place apart is not just the delicious treats but also their convenient hours. Opening early and staying open late, it's a perfect spot for a sweet fix at any time of the day. I'm a fan of their cookies, and they stay impressively fresh, making them my go-to choice when I want to bring a delightful treat to clients. A must-visit for dessert enthusiasts in the city!

First time I went to Rocco. A friend of mine suggested me to go there because I'm Italian and she thought I would like it. Well, I was actually very disappointed. First of all, I ordered a "cornetto" and the lady didn't even know what "cornetto" means. Cornetto means "croissant", but if you work in an Italian bakery (pasticceria) you should know some Italian terms for the pastries you sell. Also, the pastries were very American to me and not at all Italian. Overall, they were not good the way I expected. I don't really know why this bakery is so famous! If you are looking for just an American pastry shop (with super sugary pastries, etc.) This is the pastry shop for you. However, if you are looking for an authentic Italian bakery, don't go to Rocco. Go somewhere else. There are other fantastic bakeries in Manhattan!!
A patron asked me if I was hamas. I was slightly distressed and offended by her racist comment inside the cafe, and she said this to me in front of another waiter. But the waiter was somewhat nice - I did ask him what they were going to do about her if she harassed me again, but he only told me “it’ll be okay. Come sit” So although the atmosphere was nice, I guess the racist encounter did dampen the experience for me. But I love their cannolis. It’s just that I don’t know if I feel comfortable going there again. I’d like to see the staff step up if there is harassment inside the cafe.

What happened to you guys??? Used to be a great place for Cannoli, were fantastic, authentic (with real ricotta inside) and the biscuit was also very good... not anymore... What I had yesterday was everything but a cannolo, specially the filling, if this was ricotta, you urgently should change your supplier, it was just... no good at all, too much sugar, no flavor, badly, roughly made (I should have took a picture of it) and I often came from uptown before to get YOUR cannolo... And yesterday, I was about to cry when I got mine!!! All of this make the service that was aleady bad inacceptable, won't come back!
I went to Rocco's with my partner originally for some pastries but we ended up getting brunch there instead. I ordered the original waffle and my boyfriend ordered the original pancakes. The pancakes came out and the flavor was on point but the pancake was thick and heavy. My waffle came out and it was by far the best waffle that I have ever had, even comparing it to waffles that I had in Belgium. The batter is on the sweeter side so the waffle has a nice crunch on the outside from caramelized sugar. It is delicious!!!
If you have never been here, you have to make it a must stop. There are so many wonderful, pastries, and desserts to choose from. I can assure you everybody will be happy when they leave because there’s certainly something for everybody. Cheesecakes, Pastries, Cookies, Italian Biscotti, Gourmet Specialty Cakes, you name it, they have it! This is my go to place to buy treats to bring back home. This is a must stop on every trip I take to New York City. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this wonderful place!
We ordered a couple of cookies and a mini cannoli. The server behind the counter brought us a full size cannoli. We chose not to correct the error since the cannolis are filled to order. (Bonus points for that!) So glad that we didn’t get a mini because the cannoli was very, very good. The cannoli cream’s taste was spot on - not sugary sweet. It was just a little more whipped than I prefer. I like the cheese to have some ricotta texture. Otherwise it was an excellent experience. I definitely will return.
I went there with my friend Mikey who an NYC old school Italian eatery insider. The staff loves him so I was treated like VIP entourage. The almond cookies were exquisite. The Cappuccino was delicious and they have almond and soy milk for we lactose intolerant. The lace cookies were a little disappointing but Mikey said they vary based on who's in the kitchen. The family pictures are in the back on the wall and it really brings a feeling of tradition and legacy to the business.
It's a local cafe, most patrons are locals like me visited for years. I would usually walk around the city after dinner and come her for a late night desert before I go home. On a snow day, it gets quiet in the cafe. Great for calm snow day but hot tea with deserts to warm you up. If you want a fancier pastries, you'll need to go elsewhere. There is plenty to pick in NYC and competitions are many. But for locals who lives nearby, it's a safe night out option for deserts.
Ate here twice once for breakfast then came back for a night time treat. Breakfast was really good but their pancakes are amazing. Moving on to my sweet treat. I tried the plain and chocolate covered cannolis. I’ll give them some slack as it was late and my cannolis were slightly hard and dry. Filling was good too though. Little pricey for a pastry can find better pastry’s for cheaper locally.

The croissants are heavenly! The coffee is amazing, and the atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing. This restaurant is extremely cozy and the best place to enjoy a cold rainy day in the city. Can’t wait to go back!

This place will forever have the best butter cookies on the planet. Service is a little meh though. Last time we went we ordered 2lbs worth of cookies bit they wouldn't let us sit at one of the empty tables to eat a few because the tables were for waitress service only. I understand if there's a wait but literally all of the tables were open and we spent money/tipped the cashier :/
Something must have changed with management, quality has gone way downhill. We used to love coming here and this time the steak and eggs came with extremely well done steak despite us ordering medium rare. When we sent it back we got one that was completely raw and cold. They also kept bringing us the wrong order for our pancakes. Disappointing since we used to love going there.
I've been frequenting Roccos in the west village for a decade. Never let's me down. Either for a late pastry and coffee or a big breakfast/ panini. It's always solid and reliable. The people who patron this place are pure class and laid back. The staff and managers always give top notch service. Lobster tails, cannolis, and paninis always hit the spot. Perfect score
After decades of visiting the old Rocco's location on West Broadway, I got the pleasure of visiting this newer location with my dessert loving 11-year old. The staff was a bit busy due to the crowds, but that didn't stop them from being helpful and professional. The Italian coffees and cannoli were fresh and perfect. Can't wait to try the Brooklyn location now!
My go to spot for pastries in NYC! The best of the best for eclairs and cannolis especially. You’ll have a hard time deciding but you can’t go wrong. When it’s nice out, you can get your order to go and enjoy in Washington Square Park. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had plenty of options even later in the day unlike some bakeries in the area.
I’ve been devoted to Rocco’s since we were a bunch of high school kids shopping for boots in the Village. It’s my go to for rainbow cookies and cannolis. Mini for when I just want a “treat” on the way to subway. Regular cannoli if it’s for later. Get them chocolate dipped! Or just picking up a box of assorted cookies on the way to dinner.
My family comes here every time they visit New York for this place's cannolis. I tried the italian cheesecake this time: creamy, a little eggy, and withjust a bite of lemon rind (it's cooked in for texture, there's no gross bitterness, it's great!). I eat a lot of cheesecake, and italian is my favorite. This is a VERY good one to try.
While I was visiting New York, I thought it important to find a bakery and have some cheesecake. Well I haven't traveled the world or anything but I've had a piece of cheesecake or two and theirs was the best I've ever had hands down. The atmosphere was very nice, clean and comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Wonderful traditional Italian bakery. Everything we had was perfect: Cannolis with pistachio dusting, and Napoleons. We were there around 11am on a Thursday, so it was not slammed, but I do understand it can be quite hectic paced, so be sure to study that menu before you go, and have an idea of what you want!
Very poor service, a long wait to order with only a few tables occupied. My coffee (in a paper cup!) was lukewarm, the pastry ok (did not try the cannoli), the decor cold and the music very mediocre and too present. Unfortunate. I love Italian pasticcerias but this one is not worth the long wait..
Pasticceria Rocco is very charming. It has a lovely old school vibe to it. The back patio was adorable! The selection I photographed was at like 7pm. They had a great selection especially in the evening hours. I ordered a mini key lime pie. It was decent. The pie quality is why I gave 4 stars.
Nice little bakery on Bleecker Street. Went after lunch on Sunday and there was no wait although the rain might have played a part on that. Got small versions of the classic and chocolate cannolis and had both sprinkled with chocolate chips. These were pretty good and I’ve got no complaints.
Old school Italian pastry and coffee shop with excellent assortment of cookies. I go to Rocco’s any time I need to bring something sweet and delicious to a friend’s house - they must have 20+ types of pastries, either prepackaged or choose your own. Very well priced More
We visited on a weekend. The incompetence of the staff, in addition to not feeling welcome (they all had faces like they didn't want to be bothered) made us leave. We ate a nearby establishment. They lost money and a potential future customer. I'd never step back here.
Amazing NY cheesecake!!! Great little eatery. The cheesecake was our dinner. No regrets.

The BEST cannoli I have ever had. Heard of this place through Tastemade and made it a point to visit. The cannoli was a generous size and the hot chocolate was amazing. You definitely need to get the hot chocolate with whipped cream since the chocolate is so thick.
This place was very good. Our server Ufuk I was exceptional. He brought everything we asked for and was very attentive to us. He made sure that everything was okay. The food was really good as well. I would definitely recommend this place and the server
3.5 Don't get the cookies they display by windows. They are dry and neither chewy or crunchy. Not worth the $4.75 each at all. I wonder if they are even fresh. One of the cheesecakes are made with ricotta, which tastes nice. That one I recommend.
The establishment offers a wide variety of pastries, coffee, and tea selections. The staff is amiable, and there is an abundance of seating, including an enclosed outdoor area at the back. It's an ideal spot to grab a coffee and pastry and relax.
Had a lovely few hours here sheltering from the rain. Staff are great and food is too! Pumpkin pie, NY cheesecake and cannoli delicious.

Really great bakery. They have good coffee too. Wide assortment of amazing pastries and very innovative coffee and tea offerings. There’s sit down service and food available. There’s a back patio that I forgot to photograph. It’s very quaint
Found this place waiting on our pizza to be ready at John’s. Appeared to be a lot of locals so that had to be a good sign. The chocolate chips cannolis were great. Everything looked great, don’t know what half of it was but it looked great.
Paid almost $30 for packaged portions of pignoli cookies and rainbow cake. We wanted to sit at the many empty tables by the register only to be told sitting was for dinning and we would have to order additional items to sit. We opted to
The only thing I have tried so far is their Ice. Really smooth texture and unlike other Italian Ices, very sour without all the sugar. They make it themselves and it is up there with top Ice in NYC for me. For that alone, worth the trip.
A very good bakery in Greenwich village specializing in all kinds of cheesecake. The bakery gets extra points for its cute roofed garden area in the back. The plain, mixed berry and strawberry New York style cheesecakes are the best. I

I have no idea why this place has high ratings. Maybe you can just hire people to give fake fake reviews? Absolutely terrible pastries, painfully sweet, stale, funky. Yuck.

Paid $6.50 for a lobster tail that wasn’t that good at all. You have to either take it to go or order table service (and then tip on top of their already overpriced, mediocre desserts). Skip this place!

Big selection of many different desserts, cakes and cookies. We had a chocolate peanut butter cake, a pistachio cheesecake and a chocolate cannoli. The first two was ok, the cannoli was great!
One of the few old school Italian pastry shops left in NYC. Always love the aroma when you walk into the store. A good selection covers rainbow cookies, lobster tails, cannoli and lemon drops.

Very nice pastry, affordable prices, one of those places when you get in you'll end up buying half or even all of what they have. Everything is delicious …
I had the most wonderful time there. The wait staff are super nice and accomodating. Shady our waiter was very gracious. Thanks for a wonderful evening with wonderful pastries. So divine.
Everything I had didn’t feel like fresh. I don’t know how they maintain this high rating, but I don’t recommend you to go there. There are plenty of places that sell pastries and breads.

Been coming here for 30 years for double espressos. Love the place. Great breakfast, can’t miss stop in the Village. Grab a double and head to Father Demo Square all day.
Would not allow us to sit down because we ordered as we came in. When we asked if we could sit down as place was not busy they said no. Strange atmosphere at this Cafe.
Long time establishment. Vast variety of pastries including Struffoli in season. Nice enclosed indoor garden area out back. Table service as week as to go counter.
Their black and white cookies are excellent, a little taxing as two are just under 10$. You have to order a drink to sit in their lobby. Overall good experience.
Huge selection here and their cheesecake is some of the best in NYC. Very spacious and clean space. Charming back patio! Always stop here when we’re in town.
The cookies have the consistency of cakes rather thab crispy cookies, and the canolis are filled with a heavy paste unlike the Italian original version.
Canolis are extraordinary. Others things are good (eclairs and Cheesecake. While the fruit tart and choc chip cookies were downright tasteless trash.
Dessert and pastries are incredible, but the service is lackluster. If you can get past that then grab a seat and enjoy. Otherwise get it to go.
Really cool and charming place that I have been dying to go to. Order the Lobster Tails pastry. I asked the hostess if they are fresh to which
The place has been around since the 1970s. Cannolis are the go to desert here but I am a fan of the biscottis, especially the hazelnut.
Amazing pastries and coffee. A must experience place in NYC that is full of the world's best. This place truly lives up to the hype.
Everything is homemade in the bakery under the store. Forget Juniors this is where to go for a wonderful, authentic taste of NYC!
The zeppole was fantastic- the custard was creamy, with a nice balance of sweetness and flavor, and the choux pastry was spot on.
Their Mocha had so much depth - just the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. Tariq was so patient and an excellent help!
delicious food! croissants… my fav lobster tail.. avocado toast just yummie! interior bit cold but food lets u forget that!
Lovely place. Desserts are amazing. The panini sandwiches are so filling and delicious. Definitely recommend this place.
Delicious!!! After dinner we were all craving something sweet and wow did Pasticceria's ever make that happen.
The no crust bottom on Pasticceria Rocco's cheesecakes is pure genius. More room for cheesecake filling!
I love this place so much. Coffee + cookies, a comfy place to sit and relax solo or with friends
Best chocolate Italian ices. Good pastries too! A Village institution lives on.
