Absolutely thrilled by my dining experience at PAUL! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance exuded elegance and comfort. The attention to detail in their food presentation was truly awe-inspiring, making each dish look like a work of art. And the taste? Exquisite! Every bite burst with fresh, high-quality ingredients that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The menu showcased a remarkable variety, catering to diverse palates. The service was impeccable, with staff members who were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about the cuisine they were serving. If you're a food enthusiast seeking an unforgettable culinary journey, PAUL is an absolute must-visit. The blend of quality, presentation, and taste is a testament to their commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience. My personal favourite would have to be the salmon benedict, it’s a must try.
We had a selection of different items on our table. The steaks were full of flavour, the best we tasted during this trip to Cape Town. The pasta dish was al dente, full of flavour and not too filling. The custard tart was out of this world, not too sweet and rich and totally moreish. The coffee was absolutely divine, perfect temperature- I had 2! Great ambiance in the restaurant, while escaping the wind outside it did not feel like we were in Cape Town. Our waitress was so lovely and attentive to our every need. My only “complaint’ was the way in which the manager spoke to the staff, it was a little rude, which we all noticed on our table.

I finally had Paul’s after waiting patiently for it to open up in cpt. Today was the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant. And this type of behaviour from a place like Paul’s is truly shocking! We sat down and ordered two egg Ben, one with salmon and other with Avo. After waiting 1 hour we are getting impatient. After the hour past the waiter says there’s no salmon. Now how can you tell me after waiting a hour! Does that make sense? Finally after 1 hr and 20 mins the egg and Avo comes. This was very nice BUT IT CANT TAKE A HOUR AND 20mins like how? People that placed their order after us got their eggs before! Terrible service I’m truly shocked! If I could give you minus stars I would that’s how bad your service is!
Delicious fresh ingredients. Ordered a few items. Highly recommend the Pain Au Chocolat Amande and the Chocolate Eclair. Probably the best I've had anywhere. Fresh! Beautifully prepared and made. Highly recommend them to anyone wanting amazing fresh snacks and sweet treats.

A below average “Egg & Salmon” breakfast meal. The extra poached egg felt it was straight from the fridge (ice cold) and the Salmon patty somewhat stale. After sending back the plate because of said egg, meal came back from previous plated items rearranged on plate - even brioche was reassembled on new plate. Much better options available on Waterfront.
20 years visiting Cape Town from the UK. And Paul’s is certainly one of the top restaurants for fantastic food and a reasonable price! I would also like to add Fidel is a real asset to the business. Fidels knowledge, attention and manner added such a special touch to our meal. We will certainly be visiting again. And would recommend to everyone!
Why do all dishes served by Paul look so sad? Plating skills need improving . We are not in Paris. Fidel - a perfect, polite, extremely professional waiter. Other restaurants need to clone him..

We were so excited to discover Paul in Cape Town! We had a praline éclair, a chocolate éclair and a chausson aux pommes ! Unfortunately when we got home there was no chocolate éclair and we paid 149R just for an éclair au praliné and an apple turnover - the same price as at Paris. The taste was very good
An international experience, within our world class mall, the V&A - PAUL's. Variety, quality, and efficiency. The staff are extremely friendly. Service was speedy. Pricing is fair, especially the mains. Overall, we will definitely be recommending PAUL's restaurant and the Bakery too!
Paul’s French bakery is always a lovely place to visit. The vibes and music is on theme and the patisseries are quite good too. It’s not Halaal so we can’t eat many of the mains but the mushroom ravioli is delish! It’s the perfect place for a coffee date.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Giant macarons are a winner. French Onion Soup served in a Sourdough Bread Bowl - what a treat! French flair presented in a way that only a long-established family business could offer.
My visit to Paul's Bakery and Restaurant at the Waterfront was an absolute delight. The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding, and the baked goods were beyond delicious. Highly recommended. :)
Nice place with good service, tasty food and coffee. But pretty expensive. Good fitted for meeting your business partner or one time visit with your wife to have good emotions. But not for everyday.
Went for a birthday breakfast. Service was incredible! Lerato made us feel very welcome. The food and beverages were incredible. Food photos to follow. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff. Freshly baked goods. Freshly squeezed juices and great coffee available.
Finally also open in Cape Town. They‘ve got amazing service, meals and my favorite pastries and bread.
