Chris and Murray are incredibly detail-oriented, skilled, and fair. They rebuilt a '90s steel-frame for me back in 2015 and continue providing great service and advice - runs smooth like butter. They're also super nice guys, non-judgmental, and eager to help. A few times the bike has needed reworking after servicing or upgrades, and they've always provided prompt attention at no cost. Chris is also an excellent barista so grab a brew while you're there. Have recommended to all friends - well worth stopping by.

I don’t know what it is about bike shops, but they’re usually staffed by the most arrogant, unhelpful people. Thankfully Pedal Cyclery doesn’t play into the stereotype. Now I’m not saying they’re the friendliest bunch, but they’re respectful, helpful and never talk down to a customer, even if said customer knows next to nothing about bikes (speaking from personal experience here). I’ve been here for repairs, parts and accessories, and every time I’m impressed with the service. These guys also clearly love bikes, so if you’re a serious cyclist, they’ve got you covered too. Best bike shop in Melbourne! This is the go to shop in Melbourne for repairs/upgrades and advice. Chris sells new bikes but also upcylcles classic frames/parts returning many a fine bike back onto the roads of Melbourne town. Chris has built a bike for me as well as serviced and upgraded my other bikes and has always impressed me with his level of skill and advice. Its worth a visit and you can enjoy a coffee in the lovelly courtyard out back

So lucky that my local bike shop is Pedal Cyclery! I bought a second hand bike circa 1992 online which wasn’t riding quite right. The team made a few tweaks, all of which they explained to me, and now she’s riding like a dream! I’ve never ridden a bike that fit so well and that I enjoy so much. I feel very lucky to have such an excellent bike shop around the corner. A very inviting space with super friendly staff who really know bikes and are generous with their time. I feel I can completely trust their judgement. They did an awesome job restoring my old road bike which has been a delight to ride since. It’s rare and wonderful to have a place that takes pride in bringing new life back to old things!

Serviced my 2015 Giant road bike. New chain, cassette and bar tape. Wow! My bike is running like it’s new I didn’t realise how much my bike’s performance had degraded until after the service. Now I am picking up PB’s and cups on Strava. I won’t leave it too long between services next time (promise ) Chris’ team are very knowledgeable and I got a great service at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Old fashioned service by a guy who knows what he is doing. My bike had a number of small problems like the mudguard not fitting properly and the handlebar tape coming loose. Took it in because I wanted gears adjusted and somebody had recommended Chris as the right guy. He did a brilliant job with the gears and fixed all of the little problems without me mentioning them. Looks like he is my new bike guy...

Got my Reid bike and assembled it myself few months ago but i wasn’t happy with it as i had some gear shifting issues, breaks were lose, the chain was rubbing the front derailleur and some steering issues. I tried to fix and adjust things myself but man i don’t even know what the problem is ! The guys at the shop adjusted everything within 30 mins! Very satisfied with the service

After a friendly phone call, walked my bike just off the beaten track to this cosy little pocket of shops. The place looks like a rustic atelier with lots of funky bikes, tyres and frames hanging from the roof. Cool vibes, and great music playing. The fit looking chaps fixed my bike then and there and service was outstanding. Back on the road in no time to be close to flying again. Top shop.

No other Bicycle shop even comes close to being as good Pedal Cyclery. Friendly honest service with a particular old school charm to it which I haven't experienced in years. The guys there certainly know there stuff when it comes to repairs or even advice but its the actual personal service which is outstanding. I'll let the other google review's do the rest. Fantastic.

No stars!! I was charged $10 “labour” for him to measure my spokes when purchasing two replacements, something that you would imagine is part of identifying the part. Had been wanting to visit this shop for ages after passing it many times. How such a greedy little money grab has backfired on you fella, will be telling everyone I know to steer clear.

These guys are twice the price of other bike shops in the area. More to the point, they gave the bike a clean bill of health when in fact it needed a new bottom bracket, charged me for doing work i specifically asked them not to do, failed to do work i had asked them to do, and left grease marks over everything. Just a tragic experience all round.

Purchased an economic ABUS bike lock from here for $40. Total garbage, lasted 1 hour before my bike was stolen. I've seen cable ties stronger. Shop owners response was to berate me for buying a cheap bike lock, even though it's clearly unfit for sale. Refused refund. Can't imagine how they treat customers with more expensive purchases, total hack.

Chris is a very reliable and trustworthy person, whenever there is a problem with our bikes, we go to find Chris, he knows exactly what to do and how to fix it. If u are not in a hurry, check out his garden, you will be amazed. He even gives me some plants for free to plant at home so I could get rid of the label of "plant killer". LOL

Chris and everyone else here are amazing. I’ve had a bike built here and am really happy with it. I’ve also bought numerous parts. But most importantly, everyone here always has time to help you out, answer your questions and get you exactly what you need. Prices are very reasonable too. No hipster designer bike shop vibes here!

Pedal Cyclery is a very good bike repair store. Chris is a real gentleman - friendly and trustworthy. Bike repair job had been done in a timely and professional way, which in my opinion is the most important thing. Charge is reasonable and transparent. Definitely recommend to everyone who wants your bike feel new again!

Chris fit me in for a tube on a Friday afternoon, then pointed out a couple of issues that a full service at another store apparently missed 3 months ago. Bike feels as good as new now, and the cost was very reasonable. Really happy with everything and Chris seems to really care about his work.

Toby did an extremely thorough examination of my bike to give me a quote for a service. Unfortunately it was more than the bike was worth but they were very gracious about the whole thing and didn't charge me when I decided not to go ahead with it. Would recommend!

Would not recommend getting a custom build from here. Had a really bad experience through the whole process - poor communication and overall service. Left with a bike that still needs work.
