I posted this a few week ago, but unfortunately it didn't show as a review, so I am posting it again. My daughter went to this clinic on the 27th May, 2021 with her large Labrador x to get her nails clipped. She had already made an appointment with the clinic, however she rang again to ask if she could also book her dog in for the kennel cough vaccination when she was there, she was rudely told she didn't have a booking anyway and that they couldn't give her a price because 'they hadn't seen the dog'..... When my daughter arrived at the clinic she was asked by the unfriendly receptionist 'if the dog was ok around humans' to which my daughter replied, yes she was, but as she had never had her nails clipped before she would like to be there with her dog. Not once did the receptionist look or pat the dog or show any sign of warmth & compassion. When my daughter weighed her dog, the vet came out and scorned that she was over weight, and almost looked frightened of the dog at first ~ then she proceeded to trim literally 2 nails and the cost was $30! Both these woman were cold and impersonal and showed no emotion, my daughter was so upset when she arrived home. We are accustomed to the fantastic Mornington Vets who DO love animals and make both you and your pet feel welcome. Unfortunately we have just moved to Rye and chose this clinic, without recommendation. As a Estate Agent I am always recommending the local businesses but I will certainly NOT be including this veterinary clinic in our local list which is a great shame as word of mouth is crucial.
We have used the Dundas Street Vet Clinic for the past few years, but my recent experience yesterday (and tonight) was outstanding. I booked a very last minute appointment for a second opinion, and was booked in with Emma who I hadn’t seen before. She was thorough, caring and explained in detail (with photographs) what would be required if we were to go ahead with the proposed surgery. I was quite distressed about the idea and she reassured me that this was the best option if required. She didn’t rush me out even though she had spent plenty of time with me - continuing to make sure she’d answered my questions and concerns. To add to this exceptional service, Emma called me at the end of her work day to check in with how Freddy was and if he had required the surgery. Again, she was kind and caring and I really appreciated the thoughtfulness she demonstrated for my fur baby.

I’ve had a varied experience over the last 6 years taking my cats to this vet. The front desk staff are always lovely, but depending on the vet, the standard of medical attention is inconsistent. The last ‘check up’ my cats had recently didn’t include anything but a weigh in and vaccinations. I know one of my cats needs a teeth clean, the vet I had didn’t even check their teeth. Hope nothing else is wrong w them - as the vet was very brief in his assessment.
I called about my cat Leo that wasn’t using the litter and was diagnosed by another VET clinic as having a blockage, the receptionist was very helpful and made an appointment in 20 min for a triage, Leo was very well looked after and I was able to see the Vet straight away . It was the same when I had my other cat and even my chicken at this Vet for different reasons a couple years ago. I. Highly recommend this Clinic!
Highly recommend this vet practice who cared for my dog during an anaphylactic reaction to a bee sting. After immediate assessment and treatment our dog was hospitalised at Mornington to continue monitoring and exceptional care. On release to home the original Vet called most evenings to check on her progress for quite a few days. They saved her and they really cared. Excellent and caring people. Thank you
Tim McGregor needs a raise!!! BEST VET EVER. He was clear in explaining everything and treated my little dog with such care and love. Quote for tooth extractions was spot on and all of the detailed after care put my mind at ease. All the staff have been kind and friendly and during this outbreak of covid-19 the clinic has implemented great measures to keep Everyone safe.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and Tim the Vet at this practice. They went the extra mile in helping my pet. This was not an easy case and had a wonderful outcome. When I couldn’t get any help from others, they kept trying and the entire team should be commended. They always made time to speak to me and give me reassurance. Great service.
We wouldn't take our family members anywhere else. Amazing knowledgeable expertise but even more warmth and genuine want to help our four legged friends. We are always so greatful for the care given. Georgina is an amazing doctor, her skills in surgery were life saving and we are so greatful for her support and care getting Buddy back on his feet.
I would like to thank John at Rye for being so kind and compassionate on the two occasions that I needed pets to be euthanised humanely due to terminal conditions. He made the stressful and emotional process easier. Most importantly, he was so gentle with the animals in their final moments.
I'm new to the Peninsular however my family use the Peninsula vet care and recommended the service and I am so glad they did. My assistant dog was sick and I managed to get to see 3 vets in a short space of time so he could have all the necessary care. Thanks you so much what a great team.
The vets at Peninsula Vet Care saved my dog Percy's life after he was attacked on the beach by another dog. I will always be grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed to both my dog and to me. Their expert knowledge, and their professionalism cannot be underestimated. Thank you
The vet care I receive from this clinic is always exemplary, whether it is caring for my elderly cat or checking over my new puppy, the reception staff and vets have always been friendly, welcoming and supportive. Highly recommend
I have used this peninsula Vet care clinic for over 20 years. I find the care and attention is 100% .I have 2 burmese cats. They look after you and your fury family . Would recomend this clinic whole ❤️ cheers Karen.
Unfortunately some very bad experiences with sending wildlife here and would not bring my pet. Staff seem to be over worked/ under staffed and not interested. Hopefully things have improved since I last visited.
Peninsula Vet Care have been taking care of Zac and Gus since they started up in Rye and I feel part of there practice and so comfortable and reassured after leaving them Thank you so much John and everyone

The first time in 30+ years of visiting the peninsula I’ve needed a vet. They were able to see us the same day and Dr Tim was great looking after my doggie.
New to the area with aging pets. We have all been treated exceptionally well and very happy with all staff at this clinic.
Very professional. Impressed with the quality of information and care given compared to the others locally
Best vet ever Even when I moved to Melbourne I still would travel back to rye to see to see these guys
Trust your own knowledge and observations and seek a second or even third opinion. R.I.P. Ruby.
Tim and the friendly team were really caring when treating our Greyhound Cooper. Thank you.
